I second the welcome back, and also wanted to let you know that I made some small changes to Taiwan under Qing Dynasty rule. Basically copy edits, but I also removed the (undoubtedly true) statement that it was the first province to be electrified, under the assumption that it was electrified as a province of Japan rather than of China. Let's look into it, but from what I know about Taiwanese history, which is not insubstantial, I would be shocked if it had street lights during Qing rule. According to my understanding of that period, it barely had streets at all. Alexwoods 19:28, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

According to the work list on WikiProject Taiwan, there are 909 articles right now. I'm not sure how many of them are military-related, though. Also, we need to define the scope of the project, like who or what should be included. Kc0616 11:40, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Taiwanese military history

Erm, you did see the big notice at WP:MILHIST#Task forces, right? ;-)

Taiwanese military history is handled by the Chinese military history task force (and, at parts, by the Japanese one). As a general rule, task forces for recently-independent countries are a bad idea, as there's little history there; and, in any case, the project prefers to stay well out of the dispute over which country is the real "China". Taipei 101

Hmm; I don't know but, I didn't get involved in the article's discussion so much though. A little more about myself, all I know is that I placed this hidden commentary in there after they have done settling the dispute. I am no political person or whatsort, neither am I from Taiwan or a Taiwanese. But as someone who watches this article for the past 2 years, well I've seen it all. Vandalisms, arguments in the History pages over which is correct, or which is false... and it's all specially the placement whether should be just Taiwan or ROC, and all that.

I know alot of unknown IPs too started vandalising the page and location, and alot of reverting over the past months. But ever since this hidden commentary was updated, there was peace after that; because of this short little line, it saved us thousands of hours of vandalisms and reverts. But if someone removes it, (Especially the Burj Dubai note) people with all sorts of funny explainations will come up and start doing this type of editing all over again - when it has already been settled. I just hate to see things on and off and reverts after reverts and then, a fight takes place... I'm sure this isn't the Moral goal of the Wikipedia Community isn't it? This is why.

A moment of thought, I think Wikipedia has suffered enough of additions of false information and etc. I believe we should all uphold what is right, and the truth should be upheld and protected. I don't know about Taiwan honsestly, but if ROC was chosen after the dispute I'm sure that is the answer isn't it? So to prevent further damage from other users, (And IPs especially) the commentary was created.

Did you know that the article was once locked by the Admin (Loren or something) because of this discussion back then? He unlocked it as soon as the two parties have settled the dispute.

I think this whole discussion has got to do with Jerrypp772000 and Ting Ming and Elk Selmon. Jerrypp772000 is you isn't it? You seem to be against the rule of ROC, from what I'm reading through your archives. I think ultimately I was refering to your talk pages where the discussion took place. Also, personally, from what I know as of 2007, Taiwan is still a part of China is it? Even Britannica is also showing the same thing.

Well to sum it up, I'm just a simple Singaporean boy, lurking there and other articles that I know off (See my contribs) just to watch it from vandalisms and contribute much information about Taipei 101. I am a skyscraper enthusiast and an illustrator (The illustration of the TMD you see in the article was drawn by myself). I am also a photographer and I love contributing pictures that I love to capture for. I don't wish to be invited into discussions of an NPOV, politics or any disputed situations.

Oh yeah, well I agree too. You know, I admit, I know from standard knowledge, "Taiwan is part of china" (Or whatever China or what the norms will say) I seem to always say Taiwan sounded like a country by itself, in its own independence. Even many people here say that too; "I've been to Taipei, Taiwan" But no one actually says: "I've been to Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China". Saying that is weird isn't it? haha. Yeah its all the ways of viewing it.

Fairly simple request - I hope!

Hi there. I had a look at the Legislative Yuan article. If you look under the current composition of it, you will see it listed less than the 225 legislators in total. Can you do me a favour and look into this? If you could put the actual numbers in I would appreciate it - though please note Ko Chun-hsiung's resignation from the KMT as you may not be able to find numbers that include that defection. Well, I guess it would be nicer if it was on a new headline or something.... I admit, it took me a while to locate your last comment, and I thought the discussion you said was new, was actually first discussed on May. haha.

Anyway, after reading your comment, everyone seems to be fine with it though... Also, most skyscraper websites also list Taipei 101 as Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China too... I don't know but, I just came back from Shanghai, (4 Days there). While I was in the hotel at night, I saw on CCTV stating China slammed Taiwan's goal for independence, and still states Taiwan is part of China. Since I watched it, so I thought, well I think ROC is still the "correct" statement...

Overall, I think the article is quite fine though... What do you think?

Re:WPCHINA

I didn't know until I read the article that bubble tea originated in Taiwan, and is popular in a number of nearby countries, including China. Having the WPTAIWAN tag on the article makes sense, because the drink originated there, but having the China tag doesn't, because it is popular in a number of other countries as well. Should we have the Taiwan, China, Korea, and Singapore tags on the article, just because it is popular in all of those places?

However, I want to reiterate that you shouldn't view the presence of the WPCHINA tag on a Taiwan related article as being a statement that Taiwan is part of China. The Taiwan tag is used less in general, I think. Feel free to replace the WPCHINA tag with the WPTAIWAN tag if you feel that it needs to be done, but remember: only articles that are directly related to the island of Taiwan should be given the Taiwan tag. Things that originated in China or elsewhere and then came to Taiwan should have a different tag instead of or in addition to the Taiwan tag. There are some articles on which both could be used (e.g. Kuomintang).--Danaman5 00:49, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Damper Baby

A couple of weeks ago you reverted an edit to Taipei 101 about "Damper Baby" as possible vandalism. I just wanted to let you know that they really do call their wind damper that (no worries, I would have thought it a joke too before I went there). On the wall next to it they have an entire biography for Damper Baby, including his favorite weather (earthquakes, typhoons), blood type (O), and hobbies (Swing). About name change of Taiwanese football leagues

Hi. I found you changed the name of Taiwanese football league seasons, such as "Enterprise Football League 2007" to "2007 Enterprise Football League season"? The original name convention followed some big European leagues, e.g. Premier League 2007-08, La Liga 2007-08, etc. So why did you do that? -- scchiang 10:26, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
