Wikipedia page URL issue, as company name ends in a full stop
Hi there, thanks for accepting my article on Two Fingers Brewing Co. - I'm chuffed to see it up on Wikipedia!
One little thing I'm hoping you can help with...
As the article name "Two Fingers Brewing Co." has a full stop at the end, so does the URL - and because a lot of browsers think that full stops at the end of URLs are just part of a sentence, when I try to share the article/link with people the hyperlink doesn't work, as the full stop gets ignored by the browser.
You'll see what I mean if I copy and paste the URL from the article in here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_Fingers_Brewing_Co.
But see where it should be going (the same URL but with a full stop at the end) by clicking the first link at the top of the search list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search/Two_Fingers_Brewing_Co
Two Fingers Brewing Co.'s company name has a full stop in, so I'm reluctant to change the title of the page, but is there a way to get the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_Fingers_Brewing_Co to redirect to the article, rather than coming up with an error message? Or some other way to fix things?
Thanks for your help.
@Mazango: Fixed Two Fingers Brewing Co now redirects to Two Fingers Brewing Co.. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:12, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search/Two_Fingers_Brewing_Co now redirects to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search/Two_Fingers_Brewing_Co. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:14, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm not too sure how accurate the article is, but there appears to be a film by this name (made in 1936) with a plot resembling the description given here (IMDb). If this is not in fact correct, then hoax or made up will apply. It needs some digging, and the 'we' bit on the talk page makes me highly suspicious. Peridon (talk) 12:53, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- PS about stadia - if the article can be regarded as about the company running the stadium, A7 will work. Otherwise, it's prod or AfD (unless it looks like advertising). Similar applies to software - if the name is the company name, A7 can apply. Otherwise, it's the hard way. There are one or two admins that seem to IAR on A7, but most of us don't. Deletion Request of username and all related talk content
Hi Joseph,
I am reaching to you as I didn't find how to ask for deletion of username MobiDunn and related talk discussions.
Only yesterday did I understand upon my readings that...all we write on Talk's pages can be read by anyone...furthermore, our username is search engine friendly.
- While replying in regards of being one of the first to use pictograms (now Emojis) in my Tweets on Twitter, I talked about my Dunn4good persona that I keep separate from my other online personas.
- On top of it MobiDunn is a username I already use for business and other business developing projects, so I shouldn't be using it as a Wikipedia username in my view since it appears on Google search.
Could you delete all content please under MobiDunn and if possible make sure no one can grab that username?
Thank you! MobiDunn (talk) 19:08, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I'm not an administrator so I can't do it myself, and don't know the actual procedure for it.
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Please could an admin respond to the above request? Joseph2302 (talk) 22:05, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi MobiDunn, I've deleted your userpage per request, and marked your user talk page as not to be indexed by search engines. You can blank it if you'd like. Legoktm (talk) 22:11, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- @MobiDunn: An admin has done it. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:13, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you Joseph2302 and Legoktm, I deleted some texts from talk discussions and asked for deletion to protect my brand and persona.
Hope it was the right way to do it and very sorry for the inconvenience! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MobiDunn (talk • contribs) 23:05, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Why are blog posts not reputable sources? These are blog posts made by the institutions that the Metadata Games project has partnered with, and thus I see them as reputable. Quality Distribution
Joseph2302
The current information about Quality Distribution is stale and inaccruate - it is listing information from 2012, we are in 2015. If there are COI issues in the script (largest, etc.), then we can adjust the language, but the information regarding June 30, 2014 is more accurate than information listed from 2012. If there is information that you feel is COI, let's come to a conclusion on a re-write instead of going back and forth.
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by QDIIR (talk • contribs) 14:37, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- I agree that the current information is probably outdated, as it's 2012 information. However, the text you wrote had no [{WP:RS|reliable sources]]- without reliable sources, it counts as original research. The text you added also read as promotional and not neutral point of view, making unsourced claims of excellence such as " operates the largest chemical bulk tank truck network in North America through its wholly owned subsidiary, Quality Carriers, Inc. (“QCI”), and is also the largest provider of intermodal International Organization for Standardization (“ISO”) tank container and depot services in North America".
- I added back the infobox, since that seems good. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:46, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Joseph , I need your help. I am new to wikipedia and created an account just to remove the information wikipedia page . What can I do to remove temporarily? Rodrigo Branco
- First of all, I don't see why you want it deleted- and am more confused because you deleted all your previous comments from this talkpage.
- Secondly, every time you try to delete it without an adequate reason, someone is going to contest it. The fact is that he's notable enough for a Wikipedia article because he's played in the Football League for Fleetwoood, see WP:NFOOTY. Therefore any attempts to delete the page will probably fail. I think the only way that it could be deleted now is via WP:AFD, but this would be a keep/delete discussion.
- Thirdly, stop edit warring. You've already violated WP:3RR. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:49, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
'Vandalism' 'Report'
1. I haven't had enough warnings to be banned yet. How draconian! 2. Don't you know who I am? Honestly, can any serious 'anti-vandalism' editor claim not to know? I used to be a major anti-vandal reverter/crusader/sport hunter myself, and I knew exactly who all the big boys were. I wouldn't put myself in the Willy on Wheels category but I'm only one notch below.
In summary, I think you're wrong but I can easily agree to disagree with people. I'm becoming an easygoing guy in real life and this is seeping into my internet persona so I hold no grudges regardless of whether you get me blocked or not; you seem like a decent chap and I hope it doesn't look as though my japes are suggesting I don't see that.

Help me: My changes are lost to article Jiří Kylián
Dear Joseph2302
I have just added a lot of info to this article, but now all the changes have been removed because of a conflict of interest, Jiří Kylián has asked me to add this info to the article.
What would be the correct for Kylian to suggest changes to the article about him ? and how would i reference is this info is coming from himself as a living person ?
if possible i can supply a full bio and a full list of his works and some images that can be used in the public domain
kind regards, Rob Bothof
- None of that is the problem. The problem is that the article that Jiří Kylián wants you to write is promotional (WP:PROMO), whereas Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for free advertising. Edits must have reliable sources and must be neutral point of view WP:NPOV- Jiří Kylián doesn't get to choose what goes on their Wikipedia page, as Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia that anyone can contribute to, not a free advertising space. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:30, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
I understand, Can you recover the changes to my userpage? so i can submit the info for proofreading? Do i understand correctly that everything already has to written elsewhere to be included in wikipedia ? The info i have provided does contain facts about his life that can be added to wikipedia, and in some cases he himself might the most reliable source..also i would like to provide a full list of his works, thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobBothof (talk • contribs) 00:43, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've put a copy of your version of the article at your sandbox: User:RobBothof/sandbox. Combined discussions about Peter May
You tagged the page Peter May for speedy deletion, but then said to discuss at Talk: Peter May, a page that is nominated for speedy deletion as talk page of an article for which speedy deletion was requested. That makes it an unsatisfactory place for discussion. A Request for Comments has been published at Talk:Peter May (disambiguation). Robert McClenon (talk) 21:47, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- My mistake, the disambiguation page is fine. Although that would have been an okay place if you'd done the RfC before the controversial move. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:49, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
There's a discussion at Talk:Peter May (as you know). There's no need to do anything in the interim, and given the discussion, any G6 deletions would be obviously inappropriate. The discussion will (hopefully) suss it out, then it can be sorted. WilyD 11:05, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- I disagree with a controversial move being allowed to stand, but respect your decision to do so. Thank you for being polite about it, instead of telling me I'm "just trying to prove a point/push my view" when I'm trying to get a proper discussion going after a controversial move, like other users have been doing Joseph2302 (talk) 11:07, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- Well, I usually try to avoid being polite, but nobody's perfect. During a dispute there's no way of pleasing everyone, and whosoever is administering a dispute needs to be neutral (because admins are just supposed to be carrying out community decisions, not making our own). i.e., don't think of it as decision to let it stand (it ain't), think of it as a decision in progress. WilyD 11:28, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- I think the way you made the decision was polite, which was saying "I disagree with you and this is why"- all other users seem to have responded like "I disagree with you, you're wrong, and trying to push your own stupid viewpoint" which isn't a fair representation of what I'm trying to do. I want a fair discussion, but everytime I comment, seems like other people are just telling me I'm wrong, and trying to disrupt the encyclopedia- apart from the move at Peter May (writer) (which is the only thing no-one has complained about), everything I've done is in good faith.
- I don't expect people to necessarily agree with me, but I believe the way you did it was polite and appropriate, where many others haven't been. Thank you. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:34, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion
Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you.
Just so you know, I'm not involved, and it seems like a badly formed request from an IP user, who hasn't informed you about it. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:32, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for making me aware of this. I otherwise would never have known. I read the discussion at that link. Ultimately, it appears to be a non-issue. Thanks again. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 15:09, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- No problem, it was a complete non-issue, since you had reverted 0 or 1 times, and not 4. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:12, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks. I don't think that I reverted at all. I think that the complaining editor confused me with another editor on that page. Thanks again. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 18:03, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
javi du art page
Hello Joseph2302, as of January 27th, 2015. javi du art became the youngest artist to ever exhibit at Art Palm Beach. This includes the last 18 years for which the fair has been running for. The international fair consists of multiple international galleries located in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Hong Kong, among many, many others. Lee Ann Lester, the director of the fair, has also confirmed that du art is the youngest emerging artist to ever exhibit at the prestigious event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonnyplaxo (talk • contribs) 18:11, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- Find a reliable source that says that then- the sources on the page say they were the youngest at the 2015 Festival. Joseph2302 (talk) 18:13, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
I have emailed Jan Engoren, the writer from the Sun Sentinel, to revise the article so it states factual information. I will come back to this post to send you the updated article which states the correct information as soon as I have a response. Thank you.

Hello, Joseph2302. The Sun-Sentinel article has been corrected to reflect du art’s accomplishments, the author has apologized for the error. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/palm-beach/boynton-beach/fl-bbf-bbad-0506-20150506-story.html

Can someone fix my page archiving? It's meant to archive older than 7 days, but instead it's archiving anything older than 1 day, and I'm not sure why. I've undone it, but it seems to be doing it every day. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:54, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- I guess, the change I made will make everything okay. I hope it works. Let's wait for a day. And then see if my edit worked or not.

- Still, I am not sure if it will certainly work since I do it manually. Let's wait. If it doesn't work, I have an idea. But really a lengthy one! But I wanted to know, why the Image and Archives not properly aligned at the right?

Dear Mr. Joseph!
Greetings from India!
Thank you for reviewing our page. It has been many months since we have been making the changes to suit the needs of Wikipedia. It would be great if you can help us point out specific areas that do look like an advertisement. In all fairness we do provide all the services that have been mentioned in our page.
Also, if you can give some suggestions/tips to make it more suitable for Wiki to accept.
Regards and Namaste!
Prak! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prak nat (talk • contribs) 11:12, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Prak nat: You have an entire, detailed list of "Programmes", which has only 2 sources in it- Wikipedia is not a directory of services, the detail should be shorterned, and more sources added. The tone of the "Special initiatives and forums" also sound like press releases, with lots of information that isn't directly relevant e.g. " is for the specific purpose of giving siblings of special children a space and a platform to express themselves in a homogeneous group." (what does this even mean?), "The concert, Blue Sky Unplugged, featured a repertoire of songs both well-known and those composed specifically for the children by the teachers" (too detailed), "thanks to the joint efforts of the Rotary Club of Madras East and SpiceJet" (seems like you're trying to give free advertising to other companies).
- In summary, you need less unsourced content, and less overdetailed, technical phrases. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:02, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Could you please use these templates and sign your posts when accepting redirect requests? Thanks! Pickuptha'Musket (talk) 19:34, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

List of Honorary Fellows of St John's College, Cambridge
Thank you for reviewing my short article starting a list of Honorary Fellows of St John's College, Cambridge. i accept that by itself it may lack the substance to be an article, BUT it's part of a series of such lists that are being created following a decision to lustily rather than categorise such people. So far lists for 10 (out of about 34) of the colleges have been started - viz,: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Lists_of_Honorary_Fellows_of_colleges_of_the_University_of_Cambridge - an I intend to help to fill the remainder as time allows. If you reject this list, you should logically delete the other 9 that have already been cerated too. So I'm respectfully resubmitting it. Thank you. rcb1.
- Fair enough, if it's part of an organised decision then that makes more sense. I still personally disagree that a list of 10 people warrants their own article, but feel free to resubmit. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:43, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
I must have missed you by 30 seconds....
I just started to clean-up the Quebec telemarketing article when I noticed you tagged it for deletion. I would like to request that you remove the tag while I work with the editor to bring it up to standard.
- @Bfpage: Okay, if someone is going to clean it up, it seems better already. And I think it was an edit conflict, I speedied it via Twinkle just as you started editing it. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:16, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- I'm going to try....so far not much luck, there is no news coverage for this company. There is some information on telemarketing issues specifically related to Canada, so that might save it. Thanks for doing this. If I can't clean it up by Mon, go ahead and do what needs to be done. The Very Best of Regards,

Hi, you posted a review comment on the draft saying you are referring it to WikiProject Chemistry for review, however there is no post on the WikiProject Talk page about this draft, by you or anyone else. If you tell a draft submitter that you are asking a WikiProject to help review their submission please don't forget to actually do so. Thanks. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 17:52, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Inappropriate title
In this edit, you moved an article to an inappropriate title. I have since moved it to Dual-phase evolution. Every case I've ever seen of an articles-for-creation item getting moved into the article space has involved similar inappropriateness in the title. Why is that always neglected? Michael Hardy (talk) 19:27, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Michael Hardy: This is the first time someone has complained about an article I've created via AfC, so I disagree that it's always neglected. Nevertheless I understand the complaint, and will be more careful with names in future. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:38, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
Good catch on Avalon Group. I have endorsed the proposed deletion.
I've read a lot about Wikipedia having problems attracting and retaining new editors. Here's a thought on that topic. When someone labels a page as an advertisement, that is easily perceived as an attack on the motivations of the editors who created and contributed to the article. It also does little to give those editors guidance to improve the article. Clearly, some articles are advertisements and it's good that we are rooting them out. (This article is in a gray area - whoever wrote and edited it did not make subjective claims or use advertising language, but of course they failed to establish notability.) But it seems to me that most of the editors who write promotional articles do so because they don't understand what Wikipedia is all about. Even with the gentlest of handling, most of them won't go on to contribute more to the project (although a few might). But they don't have to leave the project feeling abused and hating Wikipedia. The other editors who attempted to improve the article in the past may also feel insulted. I don't think for an instant that was your intent, but I've been on both sides of this, and the feelings can be surprisingly intense.
Can I suggest that future criticisms be more specific, and where possible reference the appropriate Wikipedia policy? Also, look for the underlying problems. In this case, I think the article had worse problems than the appearance of being an ad. But where advertising-like content is the main issue, then I suggest some delicacy - "reads like an advertisement", "could be mistaken for an ad," etc. And specific examples are also helpful.
In any case, I'm glad that you've volunteered here. Best regards - James Cage (talk) 15:05, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- @James Cage: Usually my posts are more specific, especially with new editors at AfC, which is where the best articles by new editors tend to be made. This one I found by chance (another editor referenced it when a company page they created was up for speedy deletion). I agree that many new editors need specific guidance, in fact I often move new articles with CSD tags back to draftspace in preference to them being deleted, and give specific information- mainly because like 90% of articles by non-confirmed users aren't very good. In this case, the article was 5ish years old, and there wasn't a good version to revert to, hence my PROD. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:46, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Problematic AFC reviews
I have seen a few of your AFC reviews where you have declined submissions for being too short. Please note that article length is not among the valid reasons to decline a submission. A Stub is just as legitimate as a 100KB FA provided it complies with the actual minimum criteria of Notability and Verifiability. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 14:48, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've literally done this once, but point taken- although I don't personally believe a 2-line stub is anywhere good enough for a Wikipedia article. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:52, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Tabor City Correctional Article
Hi, I was wondering if you could explain why this article got a "C". I saw the grading page, but was hoping you could offer specific suggestions on how to make the article better. Thank you so much for your help ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.129.222.17 (talk) 01:01, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- The main issue is that the history section appears to just be a list of controversies. I believe it would work better as prose, and the more notable incidents could be expanded on, and if there's information about the prison that isn't controversies, that should be added to. For instance, news articles on the changing of administration would be good- like why they left, who the 2nd Administrator was. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:09, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Attack pages
When you get an attack page like the one just now, in my opinion {{Uw-attack}} is a better template to use than {{Db-negublp-notice}}, because it does not leave the victim's name showing on the attacker's talk page. I'm also doubtful about the value of a full welcome message for a newbie who starts with an attack page, but that's a matter of taste. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:06, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- @JohnCD: I meant to click attack not negatively sourced BLP, my mistake. Also, Twinkle decided to send the welcome message with the warning. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:09, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, OK, probably Twinkle wouldn't send a welcome with "attack". Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 22:12, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

- So I see. With attacks, I reckon two strikes and you're out. JohnCD (talk) 22:16, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- That seems fair enough, if you've done it twice you're clearly WP:NOTHERE. I'd already reported them to AIV, as I tend to if people make 2 attack pages. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:17, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Thank for your wise message about my the Harvey Jason page edition. Well, first of all is the text that the very own Mr. Jason sent me, I will try to rewrite it according to Wikipedia standars, but, can you help me? I can send you the text he sent me if you want and can help me with the "wikification" Also if you want to verify Mr. Jason identity I can give you his personal email
Have a lovely day

- Hi, first of all, Harvey Jason doesn't get to choose what goes on the Wikipedia article about him- Wikipedia is an encylopedia, so everyone can contribute to it. Second of all, everything you added was promotional, not NPOV Thirdly, read WP:COI, you have a clear COI. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:38, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Draft:Götz Schulze
I'm sorry but I really start fealing like in a communist bureaucracy :-( The last time I submitted the draft User:Millermk recommmended to resubmit after a lenghty discussion. Now you tell me Prof. Schulze still not notable although your guidelines clearly state that being "invited lectures at meetings of national or international scholarly societies" (here: Hague Academy) makes someone notable; in addition I linked two reviews of his habilitation showing that "the person has pioneered or developed a significant new concept, technique or idea, made a significant discovery or solved a major problem in their academic discipline". Could you please read the discussion between Millermk and me linked above and reverse your decision? Thanks! --130.133.8.114 (talk) 10:22, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Looks like they did basically tell you it's good enough, I've reversed my decision based on that, I thought it was 50/50 whether it was good enough, but clearly other people are more certain. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:22, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
A thought, or thoughts
I used to be a lot like you in my judgement over the handling black and white issues. Some days I am still. And I recognise I am making a large assumption in those statements, so I also offer you an immediate apology for making it.
I want to suggest something to you, despite appreciating your swift actions over the Lion Man.
Nothing on Wikipedia is ever urgent. We can undo great swathes of edits at the click of a mouse, and propose articles for deletion at leisure. The reason I mention this is that, before I understood it properly, it stressed me out trying to deal, "now, at once" with those who would abuse the place. I found that stress to be unhelpful. I slowed down, and found that unfailing and pleasant but determined politeness without any sense of urgency often resolved the situation. The outcome was unchanged, but my stress levels receded.
I wanted to suggest this to you in case you, too, found that dealing with our less desirable editors was stressful. It's just a suggestion. All I ask is that you understand it before accepting or rejecting it with a good heart. Fiddle Faddle 08:46, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with what you're saying, but the way I see it is that NLT policy is clear- no legal threats or implied legal threats, otherwise you get indef blocked, and all legal/possible legal threats should be reported to ANI. Usually I don't have a problem with unhelpful editors, but they were clearly WP:NOTHERE- everything they said was basically wrong, yet they were of the aggressive mentality that they were correct, and everyone else was wrong. I know that everything doesn't need doing immediately (and some of my related AfD nominations weren't well researched at all), but I believe the policy is clear that they should have been immediately blocked immediately under WP:NLT. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:30, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- As soon as the legal threat arrived there was no choice, I agree. I did some research on the gentleman and found, well, not a great deal. 'Not a great deal' often leads to bombast. He did seem to relish finding enough rope. Fiddle Faddle 11:43, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Hello,
you declined my article for the second time and I have to admit that I don't get the reason why you did so. Basically in Wikipedia you can find a lot of articles on independent record labels producing experimental, avant and improvised music like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexsound, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Editions_Mego, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kvitnu or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvised_Music_from_Japan. Mikroton is a well-known label in these circles where these labels work and even has a very good reputation among artists, distributed worldwide and has a wide press coverage.
Thanks and all the best, Vlad — Preceding unsigned comment added by Staalvlaad (talk • contribs) 10:17, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- With respect, all of those articles were created between 2003-2006, when the standards of Wikipedia articles wasn't so high- at a glance, I think most of them wouldn't be accepted today. Nowadays, we require reliable sources to show that things are notable, and your submission had no reliable sources. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:24, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm trying to realize what reliable sources could be used for an active label. Reviews? Presence in e-commerce? Please help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Staalvlaad (talk • contribs) 12:38, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

That way I won't make the same mistake in my next article. --Bola.coker (talk) 23:20, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- With the references, I use Template:Cite web, usually I add the URL (web address), title, publisher, language (if it isn't English), date (if it's on the web page) and access date, so it reads <ref>{{cite web|url= | title= | publisher= |language= |date= |accessdate= }}</ref>
- Although on Draft:African University of Creative Arts, I used an automatic script that uses the web address and finds all this for you- it's slightly quicker if there's lots of sources. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:29, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Joseph2302 Thank you so much, this is very helpful. --Bola.coker (talk) 02:36, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi Joseph2302
You recently declined my submission for Tŷ Hafan (Charity), citing references not being notable enough.
I was hoping to run a few past you to check that they were suitable.
Tŷ Hafan was featured in the BBC programme ‘Beautiful Lives’ [1], a post was made on [2] discussing it.
Here is their submission for the Charity Commission [3]
Tŷ Hafan has also been featured in the South Wales Echo and other local papers that fall under the banner of Wales Online (www.walesonline.co.uk). Here are a couple of recent ones:
Finally, here is the Inspection Report: [8]
Hopefully these will help to increase the notability.
Thanks very much
Rhod Harries (talk) 12:40, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Rhod Harries: Generally forums aren't considered a reliable source, however I think it's probably okay to link to the BBC Programme guide [9], which shows some notability (BBC don't make documentaries about anything). All the Wales Online ones seem fine, they're all about the organisation, and what they do. The Inspection Report is a decent secondary source too.
- One area for improvement is the paragraph "HRH the Prince of Wales became patron in 2001. Current celebrity ambassadors are Leigh Halfpenny, Rhodri and Lucy Owen, Mark Colbourne, John Barrowman and Mark Wallace."- this doesn't have any sources, and if you can find reliable sources then that would be good, as lots of these are important people in Wales and elsewhere. I found [10] about Prince Charles. Also found [11] this about The Call Centre Tv programme endorsing the charity, which could be added.
- Overall, I think if you add all those sources, then it probably is notable- being the only children's hospice in Wales seems like a notable enough claim to importance, and there does seem to be country-wide coverage in Wales about it. Joseph2302 (talk) 13:04, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Rhod Harries, opinions vary, but personally I would tend to regard even including the "celebrity ambassadors" as promotional name-dropping. DGG ( talk ) 22:44, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Really, because I don't see a problem with it, so long as it's sourced, and they actually support it. The fact that Prince Charles endorses it shows that it's important IMO (he tends to endorse only big charities). Joseph2302 (talk) 23:59, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

your editing of my edit
in what ways was what wrote as an industry professional and expert in my field disruptive when I was adding the ARAMA approved method and scientific detail to the roof cleaning page, I cleaned it up each time and had nothing but my own reference to my website with my own copy written writings and have followed the policy. Yet you say I am being disruptive and leaving no explanation as to what is disruptive.NexGenReno (talk) 00:37, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- WP:NPOV- tone was clearly essay-like with a bit of promotion and unsourced- Wikipedia relies on information being supported by reliable sources.
- Also, it's not your article, no-one owns Wikipedia articles, see WP:OWN. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:43, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
So I used non-judgemental language but it was editorialized, I had no promotion it was my own research and biological knowledge — Preceding unsigned comment added by NexGenReno (talk • contribs) 01:09, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- Yes but it was also unsourced and therefore original research. Wikipedia works by information being added with reliable sources to support it. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:56, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Pretty iffy close. Please read WP:WDAFD: "If no-one else has supported the deletion proposal and you change your mind about the nomination, you can withdraw it." --NeilN talk to me 11:55, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- But under WP:SNOW, there was no chance people wanted it deleted. Three people immediately voted delete, then people found lots of sources, and everyone voted keep. Therefore, if I'd left it the whole week, it probably would have only got keep votes- I believe this was a valid interpretation of WP:SNOW. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:59, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- !votes to merge and "squeaks by" do not indicate WP:SNOW. I'm not saying the outcome was wrong, just that the AFD should have probably run the full seven days. --NeilN talk to me 12:11, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if I did it wrong, I genuinely thought it was the best thing. Now people can actually work on the article. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:40, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello, The page I am trying to create has been refused a couple of times on the grounds it too closely paraphrases the Archives Hub. I have run the Copyvio Detector as advised and the sections/ phrases it highlights, can often not be written any other way. For example Gardner's full name, the school he attended, the names of his employers, exhibitions he worked on etc. It is becoming impossible to rewrite this any further without having to cut chunks of relevant material out or have it not make any sense at all. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you. Design Archivist (talk) 15:03, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Design Archivist: I ran [12] and it says there's a 51.9% chance of copyvio. However, I agree that [13] clearly shows they matching phrases are just all names of places/companies/people, so there's no actual copyvio. Although I don't normally rereview articles this was clearly an error on my part not checking closely enough. Can you resubmit it, so I can do a proper rereview later today? Joseph2302 (talk) 16:06, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Design Archivist: Will be accepting this, just need an admin to delete the current redirect James Gardner (designer). Joseph2302 (talk) 20:50, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
JP Cormier wiki page
Hello Joseph:
I am indeed the subject of the JP Cormier article on here. For many years this article has been out of date and absolutely full of holes in my history. I am now attempting to fill in those blanks with the items that are missing so that when I refer people to this article they see a robust and thorough snapshot of my life and career.
As a Publisher, I am aware of the laws regarding libel etc. and have no intention of placing anything in this bio that will cause anyone trouble legally, especially me. haha
If there's anything else I need to know, please contact me directly at jpcormier38@gmail.com
Thanks

- The main thing is that you need to add content, you also need to add reliable sources and also adhere to WP:NPOV- if you don't provide reliable sources, then it counts as original research, which is not allowed. Examples of reliable sources include books/newspapers/magazines where people have written about you. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:05, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello!! Excuse me, I am new here but I changed the article of Jorge Horacio Brito by explaining that the article has fake and misleading information with references that don't exist anymore. I updated the article with accurate information. Where I can give this explanation for all Wikipedia users? Many thanks for your help. That article need to be changed! --Superagente86 (talk) 20:42, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- Just because you say it's fake and misleading doesn't mean it's actually fake and misleading- you didn't explain why, just removed loads of sourced content. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:49, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- This is no something that I said. Compare the two versions. The one that I made is neutral and accurante while the other one is based on references that don't exist anymore or that describe facts that are not proven because the is no judge in Argentina that has confirmed them yet. It is a bad sourced content.
Please, can you help me to explain this on the discussion page? I don't know where it is. I described the changes at the bottom when I made them but I don't know where is a page to do it properly. Many thanks! --Superagente86 (talk) 22:06, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi Joseph2302! Apologies for the issue about Jorge Horacio Brito. A friend of mine has registered in Wikipedia and has changed the article because it has more accurate information. As you can see, it has the same information as the Spanish version of the article. The older version, the one that was reverted, has fake and malicious information. It is based on media articles that talk about misleading facts that have not been proven. If you read it, you can realize that the article is not neutral. Moreover, if you see the references, there are many that don't exist anymore. Since my friend doesn't know how to cope with this, I log in to recover his chances. Please, read the two versions and approve the changes. --Danielseo451 (talk) 21:45, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Do you think you could take another look at the page? Theres now another user making disruptive edits. Although Ive tried to reason with this user they continue with their disruptive edits and inflammatory tone. Any help would be appreciated. DaltonCastle (talk) 18:34, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
I decline your speedy deletion nomination of the above article because G11 does not applies to articles with minor promotional wording. In addition, you should probably not tagged articles for speedy deletion while a discussion is ongoing at WP:AfD if the content of the article is not a copyright infringement of a non-free content, if the article is not a blatant WP:HOAX, if the article is not a blatant WP:ADVERT, WP:OR or attack page. Always allow the AfD to run its course. Cheers! Wikic¤l¤gyt@lk to M£ 07:43, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
Hello there
I am Sophie Concepcion. Thanks for the message you have given to me that I contributed to Wikipedia. I just have a question. How can I be part of some organizations in Wikipedia? Thanks in advance. 😜 SophieConcepcion
- @Sophie Concepcion: This is a very broad question, as Wikipedia has lots of organisations for completely different things. For example, there's a Wiki Project for most broad topics (e.g. History, Arts, sports, Mathematics)- Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory appears to list all of them. But there's also WP:Teahouse/Questions, which is a good place for asking general questions about Wiki-related things, or Wikipedia:Help Desk, and there's also organisations for very specific things, like Wikipedia:Typo Team that fix typos in articles. Basically, my question is what kind of organisations do you mean/want to be part of? Joseph2302 (talk) 13:09, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! @Joseph 2302! I want to join a wikipedia organization that fix typos and all about math and science. :) Can you help me to join them? Thanks again. 😊😉 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sophie Concepcion (talk • contribs) 04:09, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
@Sophie Concepcion: The information about them are at Wikipedia:Typo Team, Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics and Wikipedia:WikiProject Science- the Maths and Science ones have "To do" lists on there, which might give an idea of how you can help. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:21, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Metadata Games Page
Hello, you rejected the page I wrote based on "unreliable sources." I am curious as to why the sources I cite are unreliable? I have research projects completed by Tiltfactor Lab talking about Metadata Games, as well as other articles from independent journalists and articles written by institutions that have used the Metadata Games Project. Can you be clearer on what kinds of sources are reliable/why the ones I am using are unreliable?
129.170.195.143 (talk) 20:16, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- This is a blog, which isn't necessarily a reliable source. This is also a blog. That's 6 of the 10 sources. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:20, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Why are those blog entries not reliable sources? Most come from the institutions that Tiltfactor has partnered with, outlining the projects. Would it be more appropriate to cite research studies done by Tiltfactor about Metadata Games? Are these more reliable sources: https://securegrants.neh.gov/publicquery/main.aspx?f=1&gn=HD-50849-09 http://thedartmouth.com/2014/01/22/game-adds-metadata-to-digital-collections/ http://chronicle.com/blogs/wiredcampus/gaming-the-archives/31435 http://thedartmouth.com/2011/05/25/digital-game-helps-tag-college-photo-archives/

Editing war??
You accused me of an editing war. I was simply trying to conform to what you labeled as promotional and change the text so that it did not seem promotional. Still you deleted my post and by the speed of that deletion I have to assume you did not even read any of the changes made to see whether or not it was promotional. The fact that there are viable alternatives to the ApHC is not promotional it is a fact of life and a normal evolution of the breed. There are at least 2 other viable registries and the three of them together ALL have different rules and guidelines and therefore produce a different horse within the same breed. It is simply not accurate to portray this breed using only the guidelines of a single registry. Clippityclop (talk) 22:06, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

I don't knew that changing pages names was too complicate I just don't understand why It has that name, I'm not triyng to call it DC Cinematic Universe, I just tried to make the real name of this a "cinematic universe" because a shared univer may be an animated one, of fully animate film....— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike150517 (talk • contribs)
- @Mike150517: I'm not sure why the names are as they are, but the proper way to change article names is explained at WP:MOVE- you have to be an autoconfirmed user (account at least 4 days old, and at least 10 edits) to do it, I think. As for the ones you did, an admin can fix it my merging the histories of the old and new articles, so no long-term harm done. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:31, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

FYI
Saw your work at the Appaloosa article. As one of the editors (along with Ealdgyth) who brought it to FA status, I thank you. Also, don't fret too much about this single-purpose account. We've dealt with these before. (See Talk:Appaloosa. Periodic dramas erupt) They either settle down and become good editors or they go off in a huff, never to return. What they are trying to add at present won't pass muster by any standard but if they work something in their sandbox that would be a couple sentences that would not be in opposition to the FAC quality of the article, we can look at it, best at the article talk page. Montanabw(talk) 03:37, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind words, I know this is exactly the text you don't want on a featured article- despite very little subject knowledge, my Wikipedia knowledge told me that text was not okay. Why did you delete my work?
You dont like me supporting this page? I have much experience in this game and a lot of things needed to be added to the class descriptions. Many of the information looked lazy and understated. - Because Wikipedia relies on reliable sources- information added without reliable sources is classed as original research and is not accepted on Wikipedia. Joseph2302 (talk) 01:10, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- How can I prove im reliable? Do you want to meet me in the arena on Aion? Because I am reliable and want to support this wiki. I am a current player and have much experience.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Bl00dpaste (talk • contribs)
- No, you cannot claim "I know this, therefore it's true". Reliable sources are books/websites/newspaper articles/magazine articles (or anything else listed at WP:RS) that verify the claims that you're making. Joseph2302 (talk) 01:20, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- Ok well since my information isn't based off another source and rather experience through videos, people and such I will make my own Wikipedia explaining the classes and pvp tactics. Though I can assure you that my information is accurate and far better than was it was originally was. Example in the description of song weavers yesterday, the first sentence was They have good damage which is very understated and lazy. So I hope you can fix this article yourself for I am going to create a new article. Vicent Klink
Dear Joseph, thank you for your comments in the draft on Vincent Klink (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Vincent_Klink). You wrote that the Web-link section potentially violates Wikipedia:External links. I took the Weblinks from Vincent Klink's article in the German-Language Wikipedia. I had difficulties after studying the article on Wikipedia's External Link Policy, what would be the violating points. I would deeply appreciate some comments from your side. Nevertheless, I shortened the Web-link section (deleting the link to Klink's restaurant and to German Language media). --ScienceGuard (talk) 06:51, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

Edit the Gorakshanath Page
Dear Joseph,
Pertaining to information put on page <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorakshanath> the very first starting line <Gorakshanath (also known as Gorakhnath) was an 10th to 11th century[1][2] Nath yogi> requires rectification. I would like to rectify it more authentically as
Guru Gorakshanath (also known as Gorakhnath) is an ageless yogi who is beyond the boundation of time & space.[1]
Request to please revert my edit.

Cellular automaton
Dear Joseph,
I have a problem with a possible misunderstanding.
My contribution is not about "original research". The phrase "original research" (OR) is used on Wikipedia to refer to materialsuch as facts, allegations, and ideasfor which no reliable, published sources exist.
My contribution also cannot be considered as "spam and advertising": Latest revision as of 17:28, 22 May 2015 (edit) (undo) (thank) Joseph2302 (talk | contribs) (Reverted 2 edits by Lev Kalmykov (talk): Remove spam and advertising. (TW)).
My contribution is appropriate and accurate. It's not about my biography, my personality and it does not contain anything other than a title of the article published in the peer-reviewed journal with IF=1.231 which is indexing in 27 bibliographic bases and another title of the article published by 2013 in the peer-reviewed journal with IF=1.503 which is indexing in 7 bibliographic bases.
Re-posting was caused by the insufficiently correct deletion of this adequate contribution by David Eppstein.
In more details:
The first removal of my contribution [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cellular_automaton&diff=next&oldid=663410769 16:01, 21 May 2015 David Eppstein (talk | contribs) . . (56,031 bytes) (-494) . . (Undo WP:REFSPAM, WP:TOOSOON to tell whether this is of any significance)] looked biased because I provided a referenced link to the peer-reviewed article (Kalmykov LV, Kalmykov VL (2015) A Solution to the Biodiversity Paradox by Logical Deterministic Cellular Automata Acta Biotheoretica:1-19 doi:10.1007/s10441-015-9257-9) and it is already indexed in PubMed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25980478. Within a month, it is expected that the article will be indexed in all 27 bases. Besides, this contribution directly corresponds to the title of the published article and Wikipedia's section.
The second removal of the contribution [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cellular_automaton&diff=next&oldid=663513765 15:31, 22 May 2015 David Eppstein (talk | contribs) . . (56,031 bytes) (-494) . . (Undid revision 663513765 by Lev Kalmykov (talk) same reason. Primary source with absolutely no citations on Google scholar.)] also looked biased because Acta Biotheoretica has Impact Factor 1.231 and indexed in Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch), Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, PubMed/Medline, SCOPUS, EMBASE, Google Scholar, EBSCO, CSA, CAB International, Academic OneFile, Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS, CAB Abstracts, CSA Environmental Sciences, Current Contents/ Agriculture, Biology & Environmental Sciences, Elsevier Biobase, EMBiology, Gale, Geobase, Global Health, INIS Atomindex, OCLC, SCImago, Summon by ProQuest, The Philosopher's Index, Zoological Record.
I also provided a link to another peer-reviewed article (Kalmykov LV, Kalmykov VL (2013) Verification and reformulation of the competitive exclusion principle Chaos, Solitons & Fractals 56:124-131 doi:http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.chaos.2013.07.006). It was published in 2013. Chaos, Solitons & Fractals has Impact Factor:1.503. This journal is indexed Science Citation Index; Scopus; Current Contents/Engineering, Computing & Technology; Mathematical Reviews; Research Alert; SCISEARCH; Zentralblatt MATH
This contribution also directly corresponds to the title of the article and Wikipedia's section.
Verification of the competitive exclusion principle and biodiversity paradox were the long-standing problems in theoretical ecology.
I am a novice at Wiki and I need more correct and understandable arguments. May I cite these articles using their titles and referenced links (as I did in these cases) for example after a month when our article from Acta Biotheoretica will be indexed in all 27 bibliographic bases?
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Sincerely,

Policy of banning paid editors from your talk page
I was just curious why you use this practice if you are just going to reply at their talk page anyway. What are the benefits to it? Anyways happy editing!00:46, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
- I believe that Wikipedia should not have paid editors, but respect the current Wikipedia policy allowing them to exist. This is the only part of Wikipedia that I control, so the best place to make a non-violent protest against them. It also stops my talkpage being spammed with rubbish from them- their talkpage gets all the messages instead. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:53, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
- Also, it gets rid of all the stupid "why did you delete my company page" questions, when I will have already answered them. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:14, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
- Interesting, that seems like a good option. Hopefully David Conway or Ali Haidar Khan will win board seats this election, but until then good luck on your crusade against spam. 03:58, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Deletion Draft:Janis Barzdins
Hi Joseph,
please reinstate the above article. Barzdins was cited by Andrej Kolmogorov in multiple publications and talks. It took me a few hours to find out, who the cited person was, because of the difference between the Russian transcription of his name in the old publications and the modern Latvian transcription in most publications and websites mentioning him today. Feel free to remove the bits that you feel may raise copyright concerns with the University of Latvia (the owner of the website you cite as a source). However, a stub on this person is important as it will maintain the link between the contributions of Bardzins to different areas of computer science, complexity theory and mathematics. Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.130.59.222 (talk) 05:45, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- I didn't delete it, @Jimfbleak: did- it's unlikely that it will be reinstated since it was a copyright infingement, as the draft was basically just a copy of [14]. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:06, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi Joseph2302
I am disappointed that the article has been deleted again. It is written in a non-biased tone, citing references and outside sources. I submitted permission forms to Wikipedia. The underlying problem seems to be that Wikipedia is indexing some of the material to an internal document of ours called K News. I'm wondering if I just delete this section out of the article if it will be passed. I really need this to go live as it will aid my employers SEO.
Can you give me some advice please.
Cheers
DebbieDebbie M Wilson (talk) 07:13, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Debbie M Wilson: I didn't delete it, @Jimfbleak: did. The reason that it was deleted was that it was a copyright infringement of [15], with no evidence of permission to use.
- Also, if you're writing on behalf of your employer, then you have a conflict of interest, please read WP:COI. Also, Wikipedia is not the place to promote your employer, it's an encyclopedia. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:10, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for that Joseph2302. Having read through the criteria for Wikipedia submissions etc I have come to the conclusion that K Rend will always be deleted as we don't have enough notable sources outside of the industry. Thanks.. and now the query
Thanks for elevating my Chris Green (horse racing) from draft to real-time Wikipedia! I was wondering why you graded it as a 'C' and exactly how you think I should improve it? Done a few edits before, but this is my first page from scratch so I obviously am interested on improving! Colin aka Henri Merton 21:28, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
- I rated it C because it seems pretty good, but there are some improvements - I also tend not to rate new articles higher than C. The main B criteria that I felt wasn't met is "The article has a defined structure. Content should be organized into groups of related material, including a lead section and all the sections that can reasonably be included in an article of its kind.- the professional career section is too long for 1 section (but not sure how to fix this), and the lead is probably too short. Was thinking it could be split into racing career and training career, but looks like they did both things simultaneously, so that might not work. There's also a lot of quotes, which I'm not a huge fan of.
- Also, another B criteria "The article contains supporting materials where appropriate. Illustrations are encouraged, though not required. Diagrams and an infobox etc. should be included where they are relevant and useful to the content." The article says no free photos exist, but an infobox would be good- info on how to do this is at Template:Infobox horseracing personality.
- I hope this helps, although my horse racing knowledge is limited- you could ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Horse racing for help from people who know more about writing horse racing articles. For reference, the rating scales I were referring to are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Grading scheme. Joseph2302 (talk)
- Thanks for the pointers. There are contemporary images but the loaned original was copied and used as an illustration in a UK book. Until I can get the publisher to 'release' the image, it is covered by a new UK copyright (it wouldn't be in the US). An infobox is a good idea and I'll get onto that. And, as you rightly point out, I tried to split it into more sections but he had such a long period when he was riding AND training that it made no sense to split it further. And likewise with the quotes - so many of my sources are not freely viewable, that I thought it was a good way to get the contemporary sense of how he was viewed. But I'll have another look. And I'll certainly revisit the lead section. Thanks again! Colin aka Henri Merton 12:02, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi I'm the author of the article, "San Beda College of Medicine" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Beda_College_of_Medicine
You tagged it as something for a "speedy deletion" because it's a duplicate of an existing article. Well, it's not a duplicate. My article dealt with the specific information of a particular topic or matter. The other article is just a general topic. It should be separated from the article. Consider my request. There are no similarities in the main content.

Draft: Stainless Steel & Titanium in Architecture
Sorry about the submission with no sources, each section was reformatted after submission but before review and the sources were lost in translation. However, we do only have two sources for the article, which I would assume to not be enough. One of the editors of the article is the author of Stainless Steel for Design Engineers, but he's not familiar with how to format. I've reviewed the pages on sources, and it isn't really clear how many sources the article would need to be satisfactory for submission or what generally falls under common knowledge. Any help with this on how to proceed? Thanks. Mfm304 (talk) 13:49, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

I know you are busy, but I am confused. I understand some edits I will need to make such as not using words like 'successful' or otherwise non-neutral. The sources I citied were not written by me, so that comment makes that part difficult to fix. I will read more articles in order to get a better idea of the writing style, as you say it reads more like a resume. If you have time, some specific examples of where I messed up would be great. - Wikipedia works by using reliable sources, so you can only make changes to a page if they are supported by reliable sources. Examples of reliable sources include newspaper articles, web pages, magazine articles and books. Unacceptable sources are social media (usually), anonymously generated content (IMDb, Wikipedia itself), and claiming facts- we have no way of knowing that you're actually Lance Zeno, so asserting facts without reliable sources is not okay.
- Please also read WP:COI, which strongly discourages users with a conflict of interest from editing those articles. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:24, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Seamark Page deletions.
As much as I understand your good work in keeping Wikipedia free from promotional material. All I have written for the page are facts given to provide a deeper understanding of said company. I apologise for any misunderstanding, but I don't understand why attaching pictures of what a company sells or writing a list of accolades in a section titled 'Recognition' can be counted as purely promotional. I am merely filling in blanks that are making this page less useful for readers. Would you ban pictures of cars from a Mercedes page?
Please consider undoing your deletions as they are not promoting anything, merely adding more detail to a sparse page.
Kind Regards.Seamark PLC (talk) 14:38, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- The fact that multiple editors have removed it, and warned you about it shows that it's not inline with Wikipedia policy. All you've done is remove sourced material, add unsourced, promotional material, and add loads of pictures, which is also a promotional thing to do. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:40, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

I have been trying to clean up the bio page on Pippa Norris.
I was asked to add more references. When I did so, by adding inline citation links to external reference sources, you removed these, which leaves me puzzled. These are references which I thought were requested. Please let me know what I am doing wrong here.
In addition, someone removed links to www.electoralintegrityproject.com, although this is a standard independent academic research project providing data, publications, and so on. I am not sure why this link was removed.
Thanks! Pippa Norris Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.229.84.141 (talk) 21:25, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- No, WP:COI strongly suggests not directly editing your article. Also, you were adding external links not references, which was making the article worse than it already is. The fact that you wrote and maintained the article is why it needs a massive cleanup, it's so badly sourced and implicitly promotional, rather than WP:NPOV. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:28, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Nemea Bank Article
Hi Joseph2302, thank you for moving my Nemea Bank article from the draft platform to a live Wikipedia article. Although I have contributed to articles, this is my first fully-fledged article which I authored from scratch so, as you can imagine, it was a big learning curve for me. I've noticed that the article has been approved as Start-Class. Would it be possible to guide me on what I can improve to continue raising the standard of the article? So far I have uploaded 20 references, including references from 5 countries to support the bank's "pan-European" dimension. Furthermore, after upgrading the article even further, what process would I take to resubmit it for review? - @WordSeventeen: Exactly what was the uncivil comment? Just because I disagree with you doesn't make you right, and the fact is that you have violated WP:3RR, and the talkpage and BLPN both support the content being there. ABRAHAM LOEB entry
The link to the Abraham Loeb entry was not inappropriate & it was not spam.
The link was to one of the best, most current profiles of Loeb that has been published (in Discover Magazine), and it was a useful reference. It is not inappropriate and it is not spam. The same holds for the CHRIS McKay entry. The link was to a recent article about McKay -- a cover story, in fact, that definitely adds to the body of knowledge about McKay. Therefore it is a useful & appropriate reference. Snake747 (talk) 14:26, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- New accounts whose only edits are repeatedly posting links to the same external page(s) are always going to attract suspicion. And I don't see any reason why that link is needed- Wikipedia is not a directory of external links. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:29, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
The criteria for A7 CSD specifically exclude schools so I removed the CSD. It's customary to merge primary level schools to their locality as an Education or Schools section. Or you may come up with another CSD criterion which may apply. Regards, Bazj (talk) 16:30, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello,
I'm editing the page on the term "argument" as it is used in philosophy and logic. Specifically, I'm reverting it to an older, better form it had under the work of Philogo before Walkinxyz started editing it with all sorts of material that actually does not pertain to arguments in philosophy (his/her work more appropriately fits into what people nowadays call rhetoric, not philosophy).
Why did you switch it back? Did you think I was intentionally defacing the thing? I assure you I am not. I'm actually trying hard to clean it up so readers don't end up believing all sorts of false things about the nature of philosophical arguments.
Sparky Macgillicuddy (talk) 18:05, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- The version I reverted to is in my opinion clearly better. Wikipedia works on text being supported by reliable sources, and your version has 3 reliable inline sources, and the version I reverted to has 19. I fail to see how your version is better. If you want to make drastic changes, you should discuss it at Talk:Argument and get a consensus to do so. Joseph2302 (talk) 18:11, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
It was indeed well-sourced content, just from 2011 before it got defaced by soeone with an axe to grind. The nature of argument in philosophy and logic is in no way controversial (which ones are *good* is, though). Philogo really did have things stated correctly in his original work. You can go to any--I mean ANY--logic textbooks on this and see what I'm saying. for that matter, you can just go to plato.stanford.edu in its peer-reviewed articles on formal and informal logic. There simply is no subcategory of argument caled a "world-disclosing argument;" arguments, ontologically, are NOT about persuasion; they are about entailment and probability, and that's all they're about. If you want to know why I'm so confident of this, it's because I'm a philosophy professor at a four-year college who specializes in logic (I rather suspect Philogo is, too). I was trying to give my new sources when you reverted the page. I also DID give my justifications for what I was doing in the Talk page on argument.
I am (brand) new to Wikipedia, certainly, so perhaps I inadvertently broke some rule here, but if so, I still don't see it yet. What, exactly, did I do wrong?
Thanks,
Sparky Macgillicuddy (talk) 18:25, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Sparky Macgillicuddy: I disagree that the 2011 version is better, for the reasons above. I've started a discussion at Talk:Argument, so I'm only going to be replying there from now on. Also, per WP:3RR, you shouldn't make another reversion of my edit. Joseph2302 (talk) 18:31, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Help adding logo
Hi there. Thanks for creating the article for First Fidelity Bank that I submitted. I appreciate you reviewing it. If you have time, would you be able to add the bank's logo to the infobox? As I have a COI, I don't want to make any direct edits myself. This is the file: File:First_Fidelity_Bank_logo.jpg. Thanks again! Heatherer (talk) 20:50, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Heatherer: Added I've added the logo. In future, you can also request edits at Talk:First Fidelity Bank as well- if you add {{request edit}} at the top of your request then someone can come look at it. I'm watching the page and talkpage, plus this will let other people see it as well. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:55, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- Wow. That was so fast! Thank you for your helpthe logo looks great. I'll definitely make sure to put any other requests on the Talk page. I wasn't sure anyone would see a message there because the article is so new, but I hadn't considered that others could find it through a {{request edit}} tag. Thanks! Heatherer (talk) 21:02, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- It was easy and uncontroversial to do it, so it made sense to do it quickly. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:09, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Possible Cali11298 Sockpuppets -- Advice Sought.
Hi, earlier, you struck User:SilverSurfingSerpant's input at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Regeneration Who (thanks for that, by the way). I have a feeling though, that the other two involved users, User:TimeHorse (the original article author) and User:Lois Millard may also be socks. User:Lois Millard's only contributions are to that discussion. User:TimeHorse has slightly more history but does make a contribution to United States House of Representatives elections in Virginia, 2014 which to my understanding fits into the Cali11298 behavior pattern. So you think I have enough to take this to WP:SPI or am I falling short? I've submitted a couple successful SPI's before but I feel like this is a bit thin. --Non-Dropframe talk 01:31, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Haven't looked very closely (coz I'm about to go bed), but looks possible. Lois Millard is SPA on that AfD, which are often socks. TimeHorse seems to have a mixture of Doctor Who, and non-Doctor Who edits, plus that American politics one. Joseph2302 (talk) 01:53, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Note
The heading of the AN/I was changed again by an anonymous IP on its first edit. Strange, I wonder who did that?TheGracefulSlick (talk) 13:26, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- Seriously, their actions seem to be making my case stronger. Why mess around with article headings if you've got nothing to hide? Joseph2302 (talk) 13:28, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- Oh they have plenty to hide. The user used to commit the very thing you are reporting him for, but in a tag-team with another user (who is now long gone). Together they made non-notable articles that they aggressively defended when it was nominated for deletion. It's about time that this AN/I was setup to stop these things from happening, and these kind of actions only improve your case.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 13:35, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- Wow seriously? In which case I'm glad I brought it up. I thought the arguments at Cody Sipe were almost enough to report them, as I felt unnecessarily pressured to self-revert. But then there was the actions involving James Rhodes (pianist), templating me without explanation, improperly proposing a merge of 2 articles I created and not answering my questions about it. And now all the messing around at ANI too. Joseph2302 (talk) 13:39, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- Fortunately, someone at AN/I noticed the disruption and pointed it out. Even added further hounding by the user. I was unaware of it since there has been about a two month gap from the last time I encountered the user. Shows a long pattern of uncollaborative editing.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 13:50, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- i left a note at ANI. It seems that folks see a problem but you didn't ask for anything. Asking for something will galvanize action. Jytdog (talk) 19:21, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've asked for a block, but no idea if the time I suggested is reasonable- not been involved in a case like this before. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:37, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- I have just looked at WordSeventeen's editing history. Look for yourself, on a talk page he accuses everyone who pointed out his disruption at AN/I as sock puppets, obviously referencing you, me, and several others. This is getting sad, his lies are getting way out of hand.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 00:56, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

- Thank you, Joseph2302 for your notes and strikeouts of sections added by WordSeventeen over at my page. I have added notes to each section stating that WordSeventeen had been blocked from Wikipedia for his disruptive editing practices, part of which included adding those sections to my page. It doesn't really matter as I doubt I'll continue to contribute much, if anything (I've spent more time on this incident than I intended to contribute over at least the next 6 months, and it's left a very bad taste in my mouth). However, it will remain as further evidence of WordSeventeen's disruptive editing practices, and possibly prevent him from referring to and misusing those sections in future against me or anyone else.

Your reports at AIV
Hi Joseph2302. I appreciate your work patrolling new pages and watching for promotional editing. However, I have to take exception to the heavy-handed way you have been dealing with the users you encounter, most of whom are here for their very first day of editing. Most would have absolutely no idea of our rules and guidelines for what is considered notable enough material for a Wikipedia article. It must be disheartening for them to not only see their article deleted, but being told that they will be blocked for trying to re-add it will surely drive them away forever. Most of the people who are creating an article about a non-notable company are doing so because their boss has told them to, but I think at least some of the time the people who are trying to create autobiographies might stick around and help us write the encyclopedia if we just encourage them a little bit. Threatening them with blocks is not the way to make that happen. Please desist in adding threats of blocking to people's talk pages (unless they are obvious spammers or vandals) and instead consider posting hand-written notes as to why we can't accept the material and encourage them to edit on other topics. Thanks, -- Diannaa (talk) 20:37, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Understood, although I personally don't see how User:Nextwings is not a promotion-only account, they've created an advert for their organisation about 5 times now. And the other 2 users have been given information on why their actions are inappropriate, although I take the point that templating them isn't the best approach. I apologise for being too heavy-handed with users, even if their actions weren't in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:46, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- People like "Nextwings" persist because their boss has told them to get a Wikipedia article in place, and has given them a deadline to do it. Their job might even be on the line if they fail. If we take the time to explain why the content will not be accepted no matter how many times they re-post it, hopefully they will be able to go back to their boss and tell them why it ain't gonna happen. -- Diannaa (talk) 20:51, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- I guess, although couldn't the time be better spent improving articles that actually have a chance of being accepted? But I understand that lots of people get forced by bosses to create Wikipedia articles, so it's not their fault that their articles are bad. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:19, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) @Diannaa: That is their problem, not ours. We are building an encyclopedia, they are here to spam. This isn't some well-meaning person attempting to write an article about a butterfly species or a historical event. While I don't deny sometimes we make mistakes in the way we welcome (or not) new users, quite frankly this is an example of what we should be doing, and more aggressively. I'll be the first to WP:TROUT Joseph or any other user making life difficult for a well-meaning new contributor, and anyone is free to trout me as well if I screw up. But please have a look at the contents of Nextwings. And I count at least six recreations of that material in article space and their userpage. I'm not sure how that can be construed as anything other than flat out persistent, blatant spamming and rightly deserving an indef block, which I just applied. FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:27, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Like I said in my last post, it seems like a better use of time to help people making good articles, rather than telling spammers why their spam is wrong. It's not our fault if someone loses their job for not creating a Wiki article, it's their bosses' fault for being unrealistic. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:32, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- (ec) Thanks for your comments. I agree that corporate accounts that repeatedly re-create their articles should be blocked. A lot of these re-creations of the Nextwings page were going on while I was busy doing two-three other things at once, or I would have blocked them myself. -- Diannaa (talk) 21:41, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Joseph, have you read meta:Research:The_Rise_and_Decline? I noticed you're pretty active in touching new users, and I'm really glad you're working so hard, but it is really important that we be as gentle as possible, especially since our processes are extremely confusing for newbies. II | (t - c) 02:58, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes I have, it's an interesting read, and we definitely need to help newbies find their feet. On the other hand, I firmly believe that we should be getting rid of companies spammers as quickly as possible. Which is why I'm helpful and considerate to most newbies, and tough but fair on the company spammers and other trolls/vandals. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:50, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

- I never said he didn't play- I said that you shouldn't add content without a reliable source, per WP:VERIFY. Also, lose the battleground mentality- I'm here to improve the encyclopedia, and I hope you are too. Seriously, stop asking me if I've read the source, and just actually add the source. I have no problems with the source, I have issues with your aggressive attitude, and the fact that instead of actually adding the text and source, you're having a pointless, circular argument with me.
