Just for future reference, G4 only applies to articles previously deleted per deletion discussions such as WP:AFD, not previous CSD taggings. Regards, Airplaneman 21:54, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

If it again qualifies for CSD, yes, you can just add the same one again. BTW, all of this NPP-ing may make you burn out rather quickly. Have you tried working in other areas (some content improvement, maybe)? This may give you a better feel of what page creators are going through when their content is tagged for deletion. P.S. Archiving is preferred over blanking for talk pages, but it's your choice. Airplaneman 22:04, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi Jsfouche. You tagged this as CSD A7, but it did not qualify as an A7 deletion. The article stated that he "is best known for writing chart topping songs with Madonna, Taylor Dayne [and so on]" so it asserted significance. But it was a copyright violation, so I've deleted it under CSD G12 instead. Thanks, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

The point is well taken. In hindsight, I should have flagged it as an unsourced BLP. Thanks!!jsfouche ☽☾ talk 04:52, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Buenos Aires Metro

Hey Jsfouche, good move, beat me to it, now i hope it stays that way, ...the confusion starts at that its called Subterraneo in Argentina, and folks don't know how what the equal would be in English, should really be –Underground– but what the heck, Metro is definitely correct nowadays. In regards to templates and cats you've added to Leandro N. Alem metro station, its not really needed since this is a SubCat. I removed one so far that's definitely very inappropriate. Assistance

Hi Jsfouche, I see that you're currently online. I'm wondering if you could spare a few minutes to help me with something? Thanks. S Masters (talk) 04:54, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much. I have been helping out at Wikipedia:Triple Crown/Nominations to close nominations and give out the awards to those who have been successful, but it looks like I'm the only one there doing this for the last few weeks. Now, I am eligible for an award myself but there is no one there to give it out. It would be really weird to give myself an award, so I'm wondering if you could approve my nomination and send me the award. You just need to quickly check my nomination to ensure that all is in order. After that, you can use this award as a template (which I gave out yesterday), to send me one. You will need to change the pic to File:Triplecrown.jpg and the wording to just "Triple crown" and the link should go to Wikipedia:Triple_Crown#Regular_triple_crown_winners. Once that is done, you just need to move the entire entry down to "Users recently awarded, pending updates to main list", and I will do the rest. Is that OK? - S Masters (talk) 05:13, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, that's not right. You are supposed to put it on my talk page, and it should look like this sample. The thing that gets put in the "Users recently awarded, pending updates to main list" section is the actual nomination entry from the top of the page (just copy and paste from the top to the bottom). jrfouche, are you able to continue with the article now? Thank you. Jaime070996 (talk) 02:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi, each and every nursing journal is described as a medical journal, this one is now the only exception. That article explains such basic things as peer review, open access, etc. I see that you just changed the redirect into an article, but it is mainly a copy of "medical journal". There is absolutely no need for this article, just as we don't have articles on "physics journal", "biology journal", or "chemistry journal". All those journals are adequately described as scientific journal in their respective articles. Just as journals in law, sociology, literature, or economics are described as academic journal. As there is nothing that distinguishes nursing journals from medical journals, I strongly suggest that you restore the redirect. Thanks. --Crusio (talk) 17:59, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Listing nursing journals as medical journals is not correct. It could be considered a scientific journal, but not medical. Existing nursing journal articles do not list as nursing journals because that article was a redirect. There is an existing Category for nursing journals, and this is where they are categorized. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:12, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
  • But now we have two almost identical articles. How about this: as I said above, biology, physics, etc. journals are all described in their respective articles as "scientific journal". What if we move "medical journal" to "healthcare journal" (with appropriate changes in the article to reflect this, of course) and redirect "nursing journal" and "medical journal" there. I can make equivalent changes in the category tree for journals: currently, Nursing journals is a subcat of Healthcare journals, which is a subcat of Medical journals. I can make "Healthcare journals" the top category, with "nursing journals" and "medical journals" as equivalent subcategories under that. --Crusio (talk) 18:19, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
That sounds like an appropriate suggestion. Glad you thought of that. Medicine and Nursing are both disciplines in Healthcare, so that is definitely more appropriate. Thank you. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:23, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Nursing journal cats

Hi again, I see that you have created several categories for nursing journals and put a {{CatDiffuse}} tage on the nursing journals top category. I guess you have emulated what was done for Category:Medical journals, but I am not sure this is the way to go. There are hundreds of medical journals, but only a couple of dozen nursing journals (even counting those on which we don't have an article yet). The result is several categories with just 1 member, 1 journal appears in 2 cats (in one it is the only member, the other only has 3 members. I think this may be a bit of WP:Overcategorization. I feel that it would make more sense to keep just the Category:Nursing journals. If a subgroup gets large enough, a subcat could be created (again) at a later point in time, but I would not place the {{CatDiffuse}} tag on the top cat. That way, all nursing journals would go into the top cat by default and only members of a sizable subgroup would go into a subcat. If you agree, all that is needed is to recategorize the journals, empty categories are automatically deleted after a few days.

Another small issue is that I see that you created a "nursing journal stub" template, which is indeed useful. However, I would suggest that it is a bit double to put both that stub template and a "nursing stub" on any journal article. A "nursing journal stub" should automatically be a "nursing stub" (I have changed the categorization accordingly). Happy editing! --Crusio (talk) 12:44, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

  • Thank you for clarifying about the stub. I am working on adding more journals. There are MANY that are still not on Wikipedia. I did have a question about how to use the journal cover image. Most websites have one, but I am assuming that the image is not licensed for use on WP, yet several other journals have this in the infobox. Suggestions?? jsfouche ☽☾ talk 13:41, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
  • I think that it is still best to create subcats only after enough articles can be categorized into them. Should something happen to you or should you lose interest in WP (don't hope so...) then we'd be stuck with these almost empty cats. As for covers, yes, they can used (at least on the English WP, not on many others), it's called "fair use". I have uploaded many covers and never experienced a problem. What I usually do is, I copy my "template" from File:G2Bcover.jpg and edit is as appropriate for the new cover. To make the new page, I change the URL from "G2Bcover.jpg" to "Foojournalcover.gif" or some such (there's probably a more regular way of doing this, but this works for me... :-). You should not upload covers to Commons, because fair use is not allowed there and they'll get speedied immediately (it's apparently something quite specific to US copyright law). --Crusio (talk) 13:49, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
  • I will take a look at the cats to see how many I have on my to-do list. THANK you for the information on the covers. That was extremely helpful. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:42, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Marten Post

Goodnight Jsfouche,

I found late this evening your message about the lack of reliable sources regarding the new lemma. I can understand your objective point of view. As author I know the visual artist Marten Post since the beginning of 2010, because I am member of a group that is organising exhibitions in our town. Because I do the publicity I heard the whole story of Mr. Post and I was impressed bij his work, his career ( e.g. Head of Arts of the Atlantic College and so on.

Like more artists that I know he is very modest, including about talking about his relation to our Crown Prince. This modesty has the disadvantage that there are less external sources, than I would like to have for WIKIPEDIA.

After your signal I added an article in the mainstream paper Trouw of 1992 as an external link. I know such a source gives value to the article.

It is a pity but I fail tot find the right notation tot add it as a SOURCE, preferred above reference ! I hope you are able to help me!

It is late now, but I like to continue to build a floor onder the lemma "Marten Post" , because he earns in my opinion a place in the English Edition of Wikipedia, especially because of his contribution to Arts en Education in Wales.

Towns versus Communities in Wisconsin

I noticed your speedy deletion request for Waumandee (community), Wisconsin. I doubt you're from the state or else you would know that that towns are not communities in Wisconsin. A town is a politically distinct government unit for the land between the communities. A town was often named after the largest community inside its border back in the mid 1800s, and the city/village/unincorporated community now often dwarfs the town. Please see Political subdivisions of Wisconsin for explanation. I have also created a lot of articles about different these types government units and I have plenty of photographic proof showing ornate city halls and tiny town halls for communities with the same name. I thought I'd let you know just in case it comes up in the future. You're about the tenth person that I had to inform about this unfortunate situation, so no harm and no foul. Royalbroil 05:01, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

  • WOW! I had no idea. I read the article like 3 times "XXX is a community in the town of XXX." It made no sense, and on the map, they looked like the same place. I hope you AGF'd and will consider me educated on the topic. Cheers!!jsfouche ☽☾ talk 05:07, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
    • I know, isn't it weird? I grew up in an area with many towns having cities, villages, and unincorporated communities with the same names, so I've always understood. It don't even need to AGF because it's very easy to see why this is confusing! Since a town is generally a square with 6 mile (10 km) sides, they appear to be the same entity on a map as large as the state. You're right, I was just trying to educate you in case it came up again. There have been approximately five AFDs caused by this topic in the past 2 or 3 years and they all quickly turned to speedy keeps once everyone understood the situation. Cheers! Royalbroil 05:22, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
      • I have to admit that I was confused by this when I first started writing about Wisconsin communities, so I don't blame you for confusing the two. Incidentally, the distinction between towns and communities is a lot clearer on Wisconsin's county highway maps; they're structured more like townships in other states. TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 08:53, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
    • Another situation I had encountered in the past are editors insisting on merging articles about Wisconsin towns with articles about Wisconsin cities or villages with the same name. Wisconsin cites, villages, and towns are separate, distinct municipalties. Thank you-RFD (talk) 16:37, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I see you've been tagging a number of this series of micro-articles for notabiity and unref. Looks like WP:Fancruft to me, for a book series that just about squeaks through on notability. On the other hand, we don't want to WP:BITE an enthusiastic new editor: what do you think? Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 19:17, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

I was concerned about that, but I decided to go ahead in hopes that other editors who enjoy working on enhancing notability and adding references would "find" the tags and improve them. The articles need expansion, and I hope interested editors will help out. If you think I am a bit harsh, I will temper my tagging, but I have done so in good faith to help improve them. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 00:53, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Harsh? No, not in the least - if they had been created by an experienced editor I would have redirected all of them back the main article, which is about a book of borderline notability in my opinion. The book seems to have a small but loyal following, and won a minor award for a niche area of fiction, so I'm leaving that alone. But I think the rest of these very short entries should be merged or redirected back to the main article. My question really was how best to do this without putting off an enthusiastic new editor, but if you think they should be left as they are then I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 08:24, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

            • There are a few ways to do that. One is use the sandbox. The other is to place tags indicating that the article is in the midst of a major revision. Copping an attitude is not a good way to promote AGF. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 05:21, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

I don't know what attitude you are talking about nor what AGF is, but it is pretty obvious that I was in the process of editing the whole thing if you bothered to check the history or the talk page, the notability was clearly stated, the spanish article if you check it shows you a lot of the references that i used, a simple google search would show you how much content there is on the subject, it just seems you were a bit spurious when considering to delete the article and never helped to improve it at all, you also never contributed to the talk page.

You proposed the above named article for deletion. GOCE November 2010 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

We have reached the midway point in our backlog elimination drive, so here is an update.

Participation report — The November drive has 53 participants at this point. We had 77 participants in the September drive. In July, 95 people signed up for the drive, and in May we had 36. If you are not participating, it is not too late to join!

Progress report — The drive is quite successful so far, as we have already almost reached our target of a 10% reduction in the number of articles in the backlog. We are doing very well at keeping our Requests page clear, as those articles count double for word count for this drive.

Please keep in mind the possibility of removing other tags when you are finished with an article. If the article no longer needs {{cleanup}}, {{wikify}}, or other similar maintenance tags, please remove them, as this will make the tasks of other WikiProjects easier to complete. Thanks very much for participating in the Drive, and see you at the finish line!

I have recently added a few sources which I hope will suffice for the time being. This is by no means a finished article. Please do not remove this page. I am currently in the process of learning how to use Wikipedia (trying to figure out how to upload photos) and this is my first created page. Does my created article have to be approved by an admin before it can be an "official" Wikipedia page when searched? Also, I noticed that you created two articles about the same person with only a difference in punctuation. If you misspell or mis-punctuate an entry, use the move function instead. Sticky prods

Hi Jsfouche, may I just point out that the sticky prod process is for unsourced BLPs not poorly sourced ones? I suspect at some point we will move on to articles tagged {{BLP Sources}} and {{BLP IMDB-only refimprove}} but at the last RFC on this I couldn't even get consensus to extend the BLPprod process to Myspace "sourced" articles let alone IMDB. If an article is unsourced then t needs a reliable source to untag it, but it doesn't need a reliable source to avoid the tag in the first place. ϢereSpielChequers 15:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

  • Merry meet, Daniel! The article has been deleted, so I do not remember the specifics. The article was deleted as an advertisement. Articles about companies must state their importance, provide reliable references to support it, and not be written like an advertisement. Sometimes articles are considered advertisements if they contain things like phone numbers, or use phrases like "we provide", etc. Also, your username implies that you have a conflict of interest with the subject, and this adds additional scrutiny to the article. • Merry meet, Lynne! Any biographical article of a living person must have a reference to support the article. If such an article is posted without at least once reference, then it is tagged for deletion. Also, if the article does not claim the importance of the person (they need to be notable), then the article can be tagged for speedy deletion. To prevent this, makes sure you state the reason the person is notable, and then include third-party references from reliable sources with the article. Please see WP:BLP for more information. I fail to see the notability of such a list. Even within the article itself, it seems unusual. Including it as a list of references is the way to go, in my opinion. You could make each one a footnote, expanded in the REFLIST, since that is essentially what they are. Check out WP:SAL (this text added to article talk page). jsfouche ☽☾ talk 22:19, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Okay. Live and learn. Lew Carpenter is my first "Sports" article. Thanks for helping explain. I really do appreciate it. Jrcrin001 (talk) 04:51, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

what to do if you don't want a nissae isen page

I created this page for nissae and for more people to know about her. I state in my edit summary to add more as it is just a start. I can't do the tag thing as my screan reader doesn't really recognize the visual stuff or anything like that. I would if i could. N.I.M. (talk) 20:34, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Take a look at your usertalk page. It has links to most of the information you need about creating articles. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 20:37, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

) Anything i can do about the tag thing? Remember, i have a screen reader, and i can't "hang on" it because of the screen reader's finickiness. N.I.M. (talk) 20:40, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

  • I am not an Administrator, so I would not be the one deleting any articles. Look at you talk page, there is very useful information about article guidelines. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 14:40, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello Jeff. I've removed the speedy template {{db-a7}} at this article. You do a lot of good work here, but this is really not a material for speedy deletion, as the article contains severals claims of notability (awards etc.) I'd prefer to give the creator a little more time to work on it. Feel free to take the article to AfD if you disagree. Thank you. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 14:45, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Now that you cleaned it up some, I can see all that. It was all jumbled together, and I missed the awards. Thanks for the notification! jsfouche ☽☾ talk 14:50, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

The copyedit can now be continued. Thank you. Jaime070996 00:02, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

There is still quite a bit of editing going on with the article. When it is more stable, I will be glad to work on it. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 03:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

"Backbox" Page

Hi, i've seen you ha ve deleted the "Backbox" page maybe 'cause it looked like a promotional page ( sorry for my bad english :) ), but it's not, because is the page of a linux distribution www.backbox.org, and as Linux Distribution i think that have to be on wikipedia in the same way as "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BackTrack" - BackTrack that's, with backbox the only distributions in the world: security and penetration testing oriented.

now i'm studying how to post a correct linux distribution page ( starting from the "Ubuntu" page template ), you think it's now ok to make "BackBox" page ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Misfotto (talkcontribs) 16:38, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello Jsfouche. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Fight0rPil0t/Fighter Pilot (Military Aviator), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A10 does not apply in userspace. Thank you. Courcelles 18:29, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

I placed the CSD tag on the article before it was moved to the userspace. Whoever moved it did not remove the tag afterwards. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 22:34, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I understand- the messages are left by our script that allows us to move through CAT:SD without it taking all day. No worries. Courcelles 00:33, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Science of Unitary Human Beings

I see that you recently created an entry on the Science of Unitary Human Beings. A similar draft entry was created as an assignment by one of the students in a course that I am currently teaching. I have been editing it to bring it in line with Wikipedia standards and would like very much for it to be merged with the current article when it is complete. You can see this draft article here. Any comments you have should be posted on the discussion page associated with the draft article (which is also the student user's talk page). Please keep in mind that this is still only a draft article. (It is being graded on the basis of work already completed.) Thanks! Hoopes (talk) 00:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

I would love to help out!!! When the article is ready, we can plan how to merge them. Just use my talk page here for communication. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 17:56, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Requested Speedy deletion nomination of Financial Director (magazine)

I wish to contest this for the reasons posted on the article's talk pageGrahamSmith (talk) 16:07, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

The trouble is that while using his original account Tehphightings he was apparently never told why his edits were inappropriate - he was just given template warning messages. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:48, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Michael Rossey

Hello, I changed it to 2011 Grammys instead of 2010 . What is written in 100% accurate.

The following statement is accurate: "Michael Rossey and his debut album “The Life of Rossey” are in the running for a Grammy nomination in seven categories at the 2011 Grammy Awards. They include: Song of the Year, Recording of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Instrumental Performance, Best Instrumental Composition, Best Rap Song and Best New Artist.

GOCE Drive – Final push

Greetings GOCE Backlog elimination drive participant, We are now coming up to the last few days of the drive, the last for 2010. Currently, it looks like we will achieve our target for reducing the backlog by 10%, however, we still have huge numbers for 2009. We have 55 participants in this drive. If everyone just clears 2 articles each, we will reduce the backlog by a further 110 articles. If everyone can just do 3 articles, we will hit 165. If you have yet to work on any articles and have rollover words, remember that you do need to copyedit at least a couple of articles in this drive for your previous rollover to be valid for the next drive. There are many very small articles that will take less than 5-10 minutes to copyedit. Use CatScan to find them. Let's all concentrate our firepower on the first three months of 2009 as we approach the end of this final drive for the year. Thank you once again for participating, and see you at the finish line! – SMasters (talk) 04:07, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Michael Rossey

I do not what else to do... Everything written is accurate. I never stated Michael Rossey won a nomination for a Grammy. It clearly says he is completing for a nomination. If you go to the Recording Academy and ask, they will confirm that Michael Rossey is running for nomation in 2011 in 7 Grammy categories.

By stating its a "blatant and obvious hoax" I feel you are using slander and against Michael Rossey claims. I am deeply deeply offended by this... The statements are true... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Musicstudio19 (talkcontribs) 11:49, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

  • I have never seen the phrase "completing for a nomination" used. All artists are competing for a nomination. The article clearly stated he was nominated in 7 categories, and that was blatantly not true, thus a hoax. There were no references to refute this. As far as being slanderous, oh well, I regret you feel that way. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 14:14, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
