Citation bot at WP:AN

I started a thread at the administrator's noticeboard to try to find a way forward with this, and would welcome your participation there. UninvitedCompany 17:34, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Thread is still open. There are still issues. - CorbieV 20:22, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

@CorbieVreccan: It's being actively worked on. It's not a trivial thing to fix so please give us a few days. Kaldari (talk) 13:15, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
I know it's not trivial. :) - CorbieV 17:14, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
@CorbieVreccan: Citation bot is now using OAuth. It's still possible to work around a block by activating Citation bot on a page, but you can no longer run Citation bot anonymously. I realize that's only half of what's needed, but it's an improvement. Kaldari (talk) 18:02, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
Actually, I believe blocked users can no longer activate the bot at all. --Xover (talk) 19:40, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
The problem seems to be resolved now, thankfully. I haven't tried running the bot, but I've seen it in page histories with the operator indicated in a new field. Thanks to everyone who was involved in resolving this! - CorbieV 22:27, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Re: Current events

Thnak you for responding. The thing is a lot of contributors provide "general topic" subheaders to curent events anyway. For Sunday, the subheader Argentina–Brazil relations is used, and for Saturday, the subheader Terrorism in the United States is used for example. A quick search of the current events up to at least last yar will generate similar results. So I don't see why my contribution is getting singled out. 76.80.178.5 (talk) 23:08, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello! :) I'm sorry to bother but have you got my email? I'm starting to think it has never been sent now. - Klein Muçi (talk) 21:06, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
@Klein Muçi: Did you send it via "Email this user" or directly? Anything in particular I should search for? I get a lot of email so it may have been missed. Kaldari (talk) 14:22, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Via "Email this user". It was a long detailed email regarding WikiLove. I'm an admin at SqWiki and we need some help with it. Can I write you here about it again then? - Klein Muçi (talk) 14:40, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
@Klein Muçi: For some reason, I don't see the email. What did you need help with? Kaldari (talk) 03:14, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
In the email I asked for help creating new types at the WikiLove extension and making it possible for the templates to be substituted instead of transcluded. But now I think I've solved that part. Now I have only two small problems.
  1. These templates: Template:The Left Half of the Half Barnstar, Template:The Right Half of the Half Barnstar require a user name to be added as a parameter to work properly. How do I make it possible so the user only has to write the name at the text area and the extension to take care of the formatting like the other cases?
  2. The images of the type "Gostitje" (please, check the extension at SqWiki) are formatted badly on the extension. How can I fix that?
For convenience, here is our WikiLove page- Klein Muçi (talk) 14:03, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

PS: How can I use new images for the types used in WikiLove? - Klein Muçi (talk) 15:20, 23 July 2019 (UTC) @Klein Muçi: The problem with the Gostitje images is that there isn't enough content about the item to push the Preview button down enough to clear the image. You can fix this by simply making sure that the description of the Gostitje is at least 2 lines long, or you can add a parameter like "Enter a message:". I'll look at the Half Barnstars in a little bit. Kaldari (talk) 17:19, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Thank you! I was able to solve it after adding a few more descriptive words about each template. When you do write to me about the Half Barnstars, can you also tell me how can I add new images for the types created (possibly from Commons)? The ones here unfortunately, are not enough for the types we have. For the moment, just for distinction, I've been forced to use a glass of beer to represent the type where the intergovernmental organizations' barnstar templates are. And we have to add a few more types so the need for new images is big. - Klein Muçi (talk) 19:03, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
@Kaldari: sorry for bothering but is there any chance you've found a way for the Half Barnstars to work correctly yet? Also the images problem (regarding WikiLove's types) is still relevant. - Klein Muçi (talk) 15:39, 4 August 2019 (UTC)
I was able to solve both problems by experimenting with the code. Thank you for having helped with the creation of WikiLove though! You've helped make every user's life a little bit happier (and easier). :P :) - Klein Muçi (talk) 16:13, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

Funny edit

Hello, regarding this edit: I guess you mean the Executive Office of the President of the United States is a non-event then? Wakari07 (talk) 22:05, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

@Wakari07: Sorry for the mysterious edit. The editing instructions for the Current events portal say: "If a news item is part of a larger event, list it under a subheader consisting of a link to the larger event. Don't create subheaders linking to general topics or lists." Since Executive Office of the President of the United States isn't a "larger event", it didn't seem appropriate as a subheader. In general, most items at the current events portal shouldn't need a subheader. And yes, I realize that a lot of people don't follow the editing guidelines :P Kaldari (talk) 22:33, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for your view on the editing instructions. I could argue that this Office comes and goes — also its constituent parts — so that makes an event. Being a European citizen, I thought it useful to provide context on the U.S. government organization chart. But hey. Wakari07 (talk) 21:29, 7 September 2019 (UTC)

New Page Review newsletter September-October 2019

Hello Kaldari,

Backlog

Instead of reaching a magic 300 as it once did last year, the backlog approaching 6,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.

Coordinator

A proposal is taking place here to confirm a nominated user as Coordinator of NPR.

This month's refresher course

Why I Hate Speedy Deleters, a 2008 essay by long since retired Ballonman, is still as valid today. Those of us who patrol large numbers of new pages can be forgiven for making the occasional mistake while others can learn from their 'beginner' errors. Worth reading.

Deletion tags

Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon (you will need to have 'Nominated for deletion' enabled for this in your filters) may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders using Twinkle. They require your further verification.

Paid editing

Please be sure to look for the tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. WMF policy requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines' (SNG). Alternatives to deletion
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves once more with notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
  • Blank-and-Redirect is a solution anchored in policy. Please consider this alternative before PRODing or CSD. Note however, that users will often revert or usurp redirects to re-create deleted articles. Do regularly patrol the redirects in the feed.
Not English
  • A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, and if they do have potential, tag as required, then move to draft. Modify the text of the template as appropriate before sending it.
Tools

Regular reviewers will appreciate the most recent enhancements to the New Pages Feed and features in the Curation tool, and there are still more to come. Due to the wealth of information now displayed by ORES, reviewers are strongly encouraged to use the system now rather than Twinkle; it will also correctly populate the logs.

Stub sorting, by SD0001: A new script is available for adding/removing stub tags. See User:SD0001/StubSorter.js, It features a simple HotCat-style dynamic search field. Many of the reviewers who are using it are finding it an improvement upon other available tools.

Assessment: The script at User:Evad37/rater makes the addition of Wikiproject templates extremely easy. New page creators rarely do this. Reviewers are not obliged to make these edits but they only take a few seconds. They can use the Curation message system to let the creator know what they have done.

DannyS712 bot III is now patrolling certain categories of uncontroversial redirects. Curious? Check out its patrol log.

Misericordia Health Centre

Hi, I noticed you recently deleted a chunk of text that I had added and cited on the Misericordia Health Centre article. I did not write the whole article, but added a few things such as the Infobox, recent photo of the building, archival drawing (from NewspaperArchive.com) from 1906, cited closing as Urgent Care in 2017. I did not write " the section '1998-present' text with its bullet points I did not write. Am asking that the text I added, paraphrased and cited via NewspaperArchive.com Winnipeg Free Press about the early years (early 20th century) of the Centre be re-added:

Winnipeg Maternity Hospital (1900-1917)

The Misericordia Sisters soon realized there was an increasing need from the community and in 1900 they moved to two and a half acres of land between Sherbrook and Maryland streets to establish the Winnipeg Maternity Hospital.

A few years later, in December 1906, a three-storey, $145,000 T-shaped addition, designed by architects Senecal & Smith was added. The basement level was reserved for separate dining areas for priests, nurses and patients. The first floor held a reception area and storage, as well as an office for the sister superior. The second floor had a living room with a balcony for the sisters. The addition opened in September 1907.

In 1916 the Sisters open the Misericordia School of Nursing; graduates were well respected and highly sought after, primarily due to their faith-based training.

This block of text: Since October 3, 2017 the Urgent Care Centre at MHC has moved to Victoria Community Hospital and Interim Care is home to 111 beds. Other changes that have occurred at MHC include:

The construction of a 100-bed personal care home, Misericordia Place in 2000

Significant expansion of the Provincial Health Contact Centres size and scope of programs

Consolidation of the Sleep Disorder Centre at MHC in 2008

Creation of a 16-bed Scheduled Respite Progra...

was written before I started editing the article this year. It reads like it was lifted from the MHC website.

Jimj wpg (talk) 17:21, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

@Jimj wpg: The text that you claim to have paraphrased above is in some cases identical to the text at the Misericordia website. For example:
Your text: "... the Sisters open the Misericordia School of Nursing; graduates were well respected and highly sought after, primarily due to their faith-based training."
Website text: "The Sisters open the Misericordia School of Nursing; graduates were well respected and highly sought after, primarily due to their faith-based training."
Feel free to add new text that is completely paraphrased and not copied and pasted. Kaldari (talk) 17:40, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
Further looking into this issue, I see the text in question was added by an IP (from Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg) soon after a User:Cathi-Anne added a list of services on 2018-07-27 that Misericordia offers, which was reverted/deleted by AnomieBot about 2 hours later:

Edit by IP 142.233.200.10 and furthermore checking that IP against the WHOIS database, comes up with Seeing the text there, perhaps I should have taken the initiative and deleted the advertizing-like text myself. Jimj wpg (talk) 20:23, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

New Page Review newsletter November 2019

Hello Kaldari,

This newsletter comes a little earlier than usual because the backlog is rising again and the holidays are coming very soon.

Getting the queue to 0

There are now 816 holders of the New Page Reviewer flag! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog but it's still roughly less than 10% doing 90% of the work. Now it's time for action.
Exactly one year ago there were 'only' 3,650 unreviewed articles, now we will soon be approaching 7,000 despite the growing number of requests for the NPR user right. If each reviewer soon does only 2 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by every reviewer doing only 1 review every 2 days - that's only a few minutes work on the bus on the way to the office or to class! Let's get this over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
Want to join? Consider adding the NPP Pledge userbox.
Our next newsletter will announce the winners of some really cool awards.

Coordinator

Admin Barkeep49 has been officially invested as NPP/NPR coordinator by a unanimous consensus of the community. This is a complex role and he will need all the help he can get from other experienced reviewers.

This month's refresher course

Paid editing is still causing headaches for even our most experienced reviewers: This official Wikipedia article will be an eye-opener to anyone who joined Wikipedia or obtained the NPR right since 2015. See The Hallmarks to know exactly what to look for and take time to examine all the sources.

Tools
  • It is now possible to select new pages by date range. This was requested by reviewers who want to patrol from the middle of the list.
  • It is now also possible for accredited reviewers to put any article back into the New Pages Feed for re-review. The link is under 'Tools' in the side bar.
Reviewer Feedback

Would you like feedback on your reviews? Are you an experienced reviewer who can give feedback to other reviewers? If so there are two new feedback pilot programs. New Reviewer mentorship will match newer reviewers with an experienced reviewer with a new reviewer. The other program will be an occasional peer review cohort for moderate or experienced reviewers to give feedback to each other. The first cohort will launch November 13.

Second set of eyes
  • Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work, especially while some routine tagging for deletion can still be carried out by non NPR holders and inexperienced users. Read about it at the Monitoring the system section in the tutorial. If you come across such editors doing good work, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply for NPR.
  • Do be sure to have our talk page on your watchlist. There are often items that require reviewers' special attention, such as to watch out for pages by known socks or disruptive editors, technical issues and new developments, and of course to provide advice for other reviewers.
Arbitration Committee

The annual ArbCom election will be coming up soon. All eligible users will be invited to vote. While not directly concerned with NPR, Arbcom cases often lead back to notability and deletion issues and/or actions by holders of advanced user rights.

Community Wish list

There is to be no wish list for WMF encyclopedias this year. We thank Community Tech for their hard work addressing our long list of requirements which somewhat overwhelmed them last year, and we look forward to a successful completion.

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:03, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Reviewer of the Year

This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.

Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.

Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.

Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

Redirect autopatrol

A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.

Source Guide Discussion

Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.

This month's refresher course

While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020

Hello Kaldari,

Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources
Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

Dhunge dhara

Hi there! You were right to make the change in Dhunge Dhara, but would it also be possible to change the title of the article? If so, what happens to all the wiki pages that link to it? --Judithcomm (talk) 15:09, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

@Judithcomm: Hello! Nice work on the article! If you go to the "More" menu, you should be able to move the article to a new title. The old title will become a redirect page to the new title. Links to the old page title will not be changed, but will still work since they will link to the redirect. Hope that makes sense. If you need any help, let me know. Kaldari (talk) 15:54, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
I decided to leave it the way it is. There is a lot more work to do on the content of the article and I don't want to spend time dealing with the unexpected effects of the change. --Judithcomm (talk) 15:45, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
@Judithcomm: I don't mind fixing up all the links. I'll go ahead and move it and fix anything that breaks. Kaldari (talk) 15:03, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
Ok thanks and good luck. You know there are also links on YouTube, etc? ;-) --Judithcomm (talk) 15:05, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
@Judithcomm: The external links will still work due to the redirect, and I'll change all the Wikipedia links to point directly to the new title. Kaldari (talk) 15:16, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Ryan, GreenC here. It has been a while since I logged into Wikisource, and noticed on the front page there is Featured content for The Myths of Mexico and Peru. The book is cited in Enwiki [1]. The current cites are to Hathi, Google Books, Internet Archive and sacred-texts.com .. all inferior quality to Wikisource IMO since it has markup and other features. None of the cites are to Wikisource :( They probably exist, but I do not remember encountering Wikisource in book citations, the URL format looks novel to me [2]. Do you know if anyone is looking at this or prior discussions? -- GreenC 14:17, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

@GreenC: You can cite Wikisource with {{Cite wikisource}} although it seems to be rarely done. Might be worth starting a discussion at the Village pump. Kaldari (talk) 15:22, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Transclusion count of about 3,500 .. Well I wanted to see if you knew of any initiatives but sounds like nobody is systematically linking Wikipedia and Wikisource together. We are systematically linking archive.org and Wikipedia though. -- GreenC 15:37, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

@Hodgdon's secret garden: You're quite right! In academic and literary contexts, people are generally rewarded for making their sentences as long and complicated as possible, as it tends to make writing seem more erudite and intellectual. I really hope, however, that Wikipedia will resist this trend and value readability over sounding more academic, especially since about 40% of English Wikipedia readers learned English as a second language (according to some study I can't seem to find at the moment). The fact was ... that nuclear scientist Clarice Phelps has been recognized as the first African-American woman to be involved with the discovery of a chemical element? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Clarice Phelps. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Clarice Phelps), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. HotArticlesBot not running for Novels

Hey, I have tried multiple times in the last few weeks to get the Hot Articles report to start generating for WikiProject Novels, and it doesn't seem to want to -- can you check and see what I am doing wrong in the config? Sadads (talk) 22:31, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

@Sadads: The maximum number of days you can analyze is 7 (it's currently set to 10). While you're in there, can you fix Underwater diving too. It's set to list 15 articles, but the maximum is 10. Thanks! Kaldari (talk) 01:55, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
@Kaldari: Ah, interesting -- there have been a lot of situations recently where I have wanted more than 10 articles: any chance the bot can be a bit more generous? Or produce an error report on the proposed page if something is not configured as expected? The complete silence meant that I never notice, unless I went looking for it. Non-free rationale for File:Naomi Parker Fraley 1942.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Naomi Parker Fraley 1942.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.

Your input

I have an RfC going on at Talk:Gwar#RfC_about_GwarBar_vs_GWARbar regarding using all caps in an article and would appreciate the input of some long-standing Wikipedia editors who may be familiar with the policy, or at least be able to interpret the existing policy with some clarity. Salticidae taxa

Picking up on the thread at User talk:Peter coxhead#Sitticini, I've now ensured that:

  • there are articles for all the Salticidae subfamilies
  • all the other articles I could find on Salticidae taxa use the Maddison (2015) names and ranks; e.g. I moved "Plexippinae" to Plexippini, "Aelurillinae" to Aelurillina
  • the taxonomy templates for salticid genera have a subfamily as the parent (or in some rare cases a tribe) rather than the family.

What was very clear as I worked on this was that the absence of any secondary source for ranks below families meant that I needed make repeated use of journal articles to deal with the changes since Maddison (2015) – some of which are in Maddison et al. (2020), but others are not. It's just not possible to write about ranks below families without infringing a strict interpretation of WP:PSTS.

So, as per your earlier comment, which I support, I wouldn't want to create articles on all the tribes, and even less so on the subtribes, so the articles of this kind that exist at present are either 'special cases' (like Sitticini) or existed already (like Plexippini). Those I know of are:

To discourage creation of the tribe articles, although I've listed all the tribes at Salticinae#Classification, I only wikilinked those that have articles. However, I see that you did wikilink them all at Salticoida. Another possibility in both articles is not to list the tribes, but just say how many there are.

What do you think? Peter coxhead (talk) 11:13, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

@Peter coxhead: Good idea. I just removed the tribe list from Salticoida and I think we should remove it from Salticinae as well. In order to allow navigation from Salticidae to the genus articles, do you think we should list the included genera at Salticoida and Amycoida (or alternately at Salticinae), perhaps in a subarticle list? How do other taxon articles with a large number of child taxa (several hundred) handle this? Kaldari (talk) 14:38, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
I revised Salticinae#Classification similarly. I'm in two minds about the subclades, but some, like Marpissoida, do have a history of use as a taxon at some rank or other prior to Maddison.
I'm inclined to revise the article at List of Salticidae genera to group the genera by subfamily + the Salticoida and Amycoida.
Peter coxhead (talk) 16:25, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
To test the feasibility of this suggestion, I downloaded the spreadsheet offered by Maddison (2015) at http://salticidae.org/classification/ and set up another spreadsheet from WSC's Salticidae list. Unfortunately, there's quite a lot of reconciliation needed: there are about 70 genera in one list but not the other. Some are obvious: new genera such as Manzuma Azarkina, 2020 and a pile of "Prószyński, 2016" which Maddison might or might not be willing to recognize. Others are less obvious, like Toxeus C. L. Koch, 1846, which the WSC says was removed from synonymy with Myrmarachne by Prószyński in 2016. Some of these genera can be assigned to a position in the Maddison (2015) system based on other sources, but each requires some research. Peter coxhead (talk) 08:01, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spiders#List of Salticidae genera. Peter coxhead (talk) 08:40, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

reftoolbar's autofill isn't working for a site

Hi, sorry for disturbing. For some reason, autofill functionality of MediaWiki:RefToolbar.js isn't working for www.prothomalo.com & currently it returns nothing. Even one month ago it used to worked. Try this url https://www.prothomalo.com/business/সোনার-দাম-আবার-বাড়ছে-ভরি-৭৪-হাজার-টাকা-2 (or any url on www.prothomalo.com). I tried this on reftoolbar.toolforge.org & it working fine there. Please take a look. As Daily Prothom Alo is one of most used site for ref on bnwiki, it would be really helpfull & save some step to fill a ref. Thanks in advance. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 00:57, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

@আফতাবুজ্জামান: It was probably broken by the domain name change. Make sure you've implemented that change in your MediaWiki:RefToolbar.js file: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki%3ARefToolbar.js&type=revision&diff=966855379&oldid=843627122.
