Hello, Kingsman3, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

An article you recently created, Ganga Narayan Singh, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. The citations you have are brief notices of ceremonies honouring him, and do not support thed etailed contents of the article. When you do resubmit with added references, focus he article on him, not on the general background, and try for a WP:NPOV. [WP:V|verifiability]] is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Hello, Kingsman3

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Skarmory, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Ganga Narayan Singh, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Skarmory}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Kingsman3, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Ganga Narayan Singh, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page or you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Skarmory (talk • contribs) 06:17, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please, if you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. I'm very willing to help, and it looks like you don't really understand the process – I am willing to help in any way I can, but these articles you have written aren't in good enough shape to be articles as of now. Providing reliable sources (see also the verifiability policy) is the number one thing to do, and if you can do that, a lot of other things will stop being as problematic. If you can't figure it out, I'd suggest improving existing articles before jumping into article creation, which I honestly would suggest now. Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Potka block appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 15:47, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Potka block. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please stop reformatting section titles, we use sentence case e.g. "Notable people", not "Notable People" - Arjayay (talk) 15:49, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Kingsman3! Your additions to Rani Shiromani have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not copy-paste materials from other site, namely from https://www.thecitizen.in/index.php/en/newsdetail/index/9/9315/women-of-courage-who-challenged-the-british.

Per WP:C-P it is not allowed to copy text from other sources. Thank you! Thank you. SunDawntalk 03:04, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Lusku Samad requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Durga Bhumij requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.sentinelassam.com/assam-election-2021/candidates/phase1/durga-bhumij-from-doom-dooma-early-life-controversy-political-career-529229. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Ways to improve Rankini Temple, Jadugora

[edit]

Hello, Kingsman3,

Thank you for creating Rankini Temple, Jadugora.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Television news is not an acceptable reference. This article needs categories and more sources. What is needful is individual sources must be evaluated separately and independently of each other and meet the four criteria below to determine if a source qualifies towards establishing notability.

  1. Contain significant coverage addressing the subject of the article directly and in depth.
  2. Be completely independent of the article subject.
  3. Meet the standard for being a reliable source.
  4. Be a secondary source; primary and tertiary sources do not count towards establishing notability.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

@Austronesier There is no copyright material in the article Kingsman3 (talk) 12:48, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, because it has been removed. Before (including in the version you restored at 02:03, 24 May 2022), it was full of verbatim quotes ripped from Sarkar's paper "Chuar Revolt in South West Bengal: A Historical Analysis". And your latest version still violates WP:Close paraphrasing. –Austronesier (talk) 20:42, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Ganga Narayan Singh

Hello, Kingsman3, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ganga Narayan Singh, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ganga Narayan Singh.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

@Hughesdarren:, Respected sir, I would like to tell you that Ganga Narayan Singh was a great leader of Bhumij rebellion, during 1832-33. He was the first leader to unite the tribals to fought against the British. He bravely fought against the British East India Company against their exploitative land laws, salt laws, etc. He was killed by a British broker during a fight against the British at Kharsawan in 1833. Thank you Kingsman3 (talk) 03:05, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't doubt that this is true, but you must include secondary sources that can be verified (see Wikipedia:Verifiability). I was going to send the article to draft and found that the article already exists there (see Draft:Ganga Narayan Singh. The draft article looks to be sourced and in reasonable shape. Wait for other editors to accept the draft. By creating new articles you are just creating extra work for everyone else. Be patient and allow the process to be completed. There is no hurry. Regards. Hughesdarren (talk) 03:16, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Kingsman3: I sent your article to draft because it was largely unsourced. There was whole sections of it which was missing references. You have created another article without working on the draft article which is bit diruptive. A redirect will be put from this article to the draft. The process is, you work on the draft, once its completed, then you submit it for review and if its well sourced then it gets back to mainspace. You cannot post unsourced content to mainspace. The type of references your using for this historical are very poor. They need to be academic sources if possible. Not clickbait sites. scope_creepTalk 07:16, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kingsman3: This article or version of it seems to been in the draft several times and its landed in mainspace several times and its been draft. It currently doesn't look your here to build an encyclopedia by following the processes. If it happens that another gets article gets created or the redirect gets removed, then I intend to take you up admin noticeboard. They will deal with you. scope_creepTalk 07:23, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The page Moje Riba has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://amritmahotsav.nic.in/unsung-heroes-detail.htm?51, https://www.sentinelassam.com/junior-sentinel/moje-riba/, and https://thedawnlitpost.com/2021/08/untold-story-of-freedom-fighter-moji-riba/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. — Diannaa (talk) 15:02, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't copy material from elsewhere online

[edit]

Hello. I am Diannaa and I am a Wikipedia administrator. Prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the copyright policy of this website to do so. All prose must be written in your own words. The Wikipedia copyright policy and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policy. There's a simplified version of our copyright rules at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Further copyright issues will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa (talk) 15:02, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not closely paraphrase from sources, as this is still considered a copyright violation. You copied much of this source word-for-word, even copying some of the grammar mistakes ("the India" and "on 1982"). Please go through this article and rewrite it in your own words, or it may be deleted. Thank you. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 14:31, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article Baidyanath Singh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article entirely fails verification; there is no person referred to in the sole cited source who has the name of the article subject.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
