[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article KNERO is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KNERO until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SarahStierch (talk) 23:27, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing AfD template

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with KNERO. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot  t • c »  01:14, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Account for username Knero blocked indefinitely

[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because this username is an impersonation of a living person (about whom you have been writing) not yourself (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and trolling or other disruptive behavior is not tolerated. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I'm just a writer that was impress by his story. I've been interested in his career. I just happen to make the user name the same, didn't know that was an issue. This is my first contribution to Wikipedia, and am unaware of all the regulations. I did not initially include my username as my personal name, thinking it would be best to use the name of the individual I am writing about. This is where all the confusion is coming into play I believe. Sarah 05:08, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Either "S dot Kennedy", which you wrote, or "S. Instructions to change my user name

[edit]

Hey, OrangeMike. I'm totally lost. I've read the instructions to change my user name to my desire name for my username but I don't know what route to take. When I created THE "KNERO" article I've use the article name as my username not knowing it was going to be an issue. can you please guide me to avoid deletion?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Knero (talkcontribs)

You haven't told us what name you would want to use instead! --Orange Mike | Talk 15:23, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He needs to use {{unblock-un}}. Daniel Case (talk) 19:56, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, My apologies! I'll like to use 'Sarah Kennedy'. Im goal is to basically not to have my artist deleted. I've been interested in an music artist story. I've been following for some time,
The account User:Sarah Kennedy is already taken. However, because the account has made no contributions to Wikipedia, you can usurp that name. It's a slightly different procedure than a simple username change; see WP:USURP for details. However, I'd recommend against it. Sarah Kennedy is three real persons already, two of which we have Wikipedia articles on. See Sarah Kennedy (disambiguation). Calling yourself "Sarah Kennedy" would not solve the impersonation issue for which you were blocked. I have modified your unblock request template above to show how to specify a username, please choose something else. Thanks. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:50, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. I'll only requested that name because it's my birth name. How about "S dot Kennedy"? -- S.Kennedy 19:44, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not sure what this is about, you are not directly blocked. If you are unable to edit please place another request detailing what message you are getting when you try to edit. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:34, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you got the name thing straightened out!

[edit]

As to why the Knero article got deleted: see WP:UPANDCOMING. Wikipedia articles are for those who have already achieved notability, not those who deserve it, or those who you are sure will achieve it someday. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:44, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Understand! say this artist get signed to an major record label, would that reach Wikipedia's notability?— Preceding unsigned comment added by S.Kennedy (talkcontribs)
"Signed" and "actually gets an album released" are two vastly different things! Read this article for more detailed analysis of our musician-notability standards; then read this anthology of how not to do a music article. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:41, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Signing your talk page posts: a templated message

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:41, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

KNERO AfD comment

[edit]
Cookies for you!

The KNERO article was deleted at KNERO AfD. Per Wikipedia:Notability, "if a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article." So far, I've found

"Among the entertainers being featured at this year’s cultural extravaganza are: ... as well as several Liberian upcoming recording artists, including Patrick Juwle, Joseph Coleman, kNERO, and Naomi Cojolo Kolleh, commonly known as Princess of Praise." "Liberia: Citizens In U.S. to Celebrate July 26th in Washington". AllAfrica.com. July 20, 2011. Retrieved March 23, 2012..

I think you would agree that tidbit isn't enought on which to write a stand-alone biography article on kNERO. His website lacks any In-The-News page, so likely there isn't much kNERO coverage in reliable sources. It's possible there is reliable source material in Liberia. Have you checked there? -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 11:51, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm assuming what's new for kNERO is his single "Not Drunk Enuff" featuring Adele Erichsen, who's on The Voice rite now along side signing single deal with CCAP records in Norway. I haven't reach out or know the route to take to get overseas details on the kNERO. From my understanding some artists don't always have news feed page on their website. --Sarah 16:53, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
For Liberian help, User:Aboutmovies significantly contributed to WikiProject Liberia and has written a number of Liberia related articles, You may receive a faster reply by posting on User Aboutmovies talk page than on the WikiProject Liberia talk page. You also may be able to get some help from African Wikipedians, such as Wikipedians interested in Liberia and Wikipedians in Liberia. Another option would be to contact kNERO and see if he has news clippings, ect. on his career. It's also possible that there is reliable source material under kNERO's real name and that may have been overlooked. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 13:13, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great! thanks for the info! --Sarah 04:28, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Besides the template above, AllAfrica has a lot of Liberia content, otherwise many other newspapers in Liberia are good as well (though some seemed to have disappeared from the web as of late). Plus, if you have a library card, many libraries have extensive databases you can access from home that allow access to magazines, journals, and newspapers. Hey guys I'm back... I'll like to know would this other article be able to aproved kNERO on Wikipedia? --Sarah 15:19, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello S.Kennedy,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Knero, may be copied from http://wikibin.org/articles/knero.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 07:20, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Knero

[edit]

Hello S.Kennedy,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Knero for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Travelbird (talk) 07:27, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, S.Kennedy. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Knero, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Knero to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Knero, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pop (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Knero

[edit]

Greetings! Some of the references currently in the Knero article are unreliable. YouTube and IMDB are not reliable sources per WP:USERGENERATED. Promotional websites with little to no text are not reliable either. You can't remove the maintenance tags without adding better sources. Keep in mind that you can get block from editing if you continue to remove maintenance tags from article. Versace1608 (Talk) 03:27, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Knero-Toure-designs-model-liberian-rapper.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Knero-Toure-designs-model-liberian-rapper.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 08:27, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature

[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Olumide Gbenro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Olumide Gbenro. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
