DYK for Deepika Padukone filmography

PanydThe muffin is not subtle 13:31, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Filmograophy

Hi, I find you active in filmography project, contributing to a number of FAs. While revewing a particular GA, I find an unsourced filmography, and on searching I saw WP:Filmography saying "Source -This is an optional field that is to be used when a work may be obscure or difficult to confirm". However, this is a contradiction to the policies of WP:IC, WP:V and WP:BLP. Please help me out. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 05:49, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Hey, generally, in the biography of say, actors, their filmography is already covered in the main body. So if their film roles are already sourced in the article then there's no need to have repeated refs in the table. If there are some roles that aren't mentioned in the article, then additional refs need to be provided in the table. Hope this helps. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:48, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Prose

How do you count prose's characters? -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 21:58, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

I normally run this script to check the number of characters. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:41, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Tanu Weds Manu Returns

I don't understand why you removing the rating? I have also provided all the authentic links as well. So I request you to STOP bulling.

There is a section for critical reviews in the article. We can't put critic ratings randomly in the middle of the article. Also, just putting how many stars a film got serves no purpose, unless we briefly quote what the critic thought of the film. Remember, this is an encyclopedia and not a promotional site.--Krimuk|90 (talk) 11:08, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
FYI, the disruptive user is back again. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 15:31, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
Quite a character he/she is. Good to see they have been blocked. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:42, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Pathala Bhairavi, reviewed by Dr. Blofeld, turned a GA today which became my twelfth consecutive GA success i.e. completes my fourth GA hat-trick. This is the second non-21st century Telugu film to become a GA after Mayabazar, my eighth GA. Felt i should share it with you. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:09, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

That's nice. Congratulations! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:59, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
There's a fix now. Dr. Blofeld opines that Mayabazar has the potential to become an FA and suggests to open a peer review. But there is hardly any info about the film's BO collections. Will it make it to FA? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:39, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
If there is no box-office info available, that's not an issue. I just glanced through the article, and yes, it does seem to have a lot of potential. If you have Blof's guidance, then it will surely become an FA. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 03:44, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Unlike today, I don't think Indians then were so fussy about box office collections, and I think that a film's success then would be determined by the length of its theatrical run. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:50, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Almost, till 2008. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:59, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala: Actually until 1975 but Ghajini popularised it. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 04:16, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
I was ignorant of this. Anyways, thanks for letting me know, Ssven2! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:17, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

Oppose

Shelved/unreleased films

Should I create a separate section for them and instead of "year" column use "scheduled release".--Skr15081997 (talk) 05:17, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure if shelved films need to be included, per the notability guidelines. Such films shouldn't have their own articles, and thus shouldn't be included in an actor's filmography as well. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:39, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
I will remove them but what about Zamaanat, it has an article.--Skr15081997 (talk) 06:02, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
The guideline specifically says "films produced in the past which were either not completed or not distributed should not have their own articles, unless their failure was notable per the guidelines." So, technically it shouldn't be mentioned. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:06, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
They all have been removed. About the location bit, I think they shouldn't be removed since they are important to the citations just like author and date. All refs don't have a date and author. Moreover, most of the citations are news sources. The Hindu has 3 different locations for 3 refs; New Delhi, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. Hindustan Times also provides different locations for different articles. Also there is no particular policy or guideline which requires that a parameter should be included in all refs or not used at all. There is some issue regarding the list's title. Can you give an opinion regarding this.--Skr15081997 (talk) 06:31, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
I only say the bit about location info because I was asked my other reviewers to do the same. As for the title, I have no issues whatsoever with the previous title of the article, neither does the FLC co-ordinator SchroCat, but I know that several other editors feel very strongly against it. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:35, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
When I nominated that page for DYK, the title was Arshad Warsi filmography and it didn't had the awards table. Later, when I saw Kangana Ranaut, roles and awards I thought that awards can also be included. Samir Tewari and Boman Irani have said that Warsi is one of the most underrated actor in the industry. Really, he has so much potential. Sehar and Jolly LLB prove this but he has been typecast in comedy roles. More importantly, thanks for your thorough review.--Skr15081997 (talk) 06:49, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
I agree. I have always admired his work. I have posted some more comments at the FLC. I think you need to research his awards and nominations section more thoroughly. I see some incorrect and missing information. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:53, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Talk:Dil Dhadakne Do

Hi Krimuk, could I trouble you to please comment at Talk:Dil Dhadakne Do about the unexplained reordering of critical response? My concern is that people are trying to bury bad reviews under an avalanche of good ones, to make the film look better as we see so often. After I reverted the last time, this IP came and moved the 2 star review to the bottom. My feeling is that we should be alternating the good/bad reviews to help present a balanced picture. Thanks in advance, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:03, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the help in keeping it neutral. Cyphoidbomb. I think since the majority of reviews are mixed/negative, we put it in the first paragraph. The second paragraph can have the rest of the positive reviews. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 04:24, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

A gentle reminder! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:45, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

I have tried to resolve all of your comments. Except of those related to improper comma's, full stop or semicolons, the correct dash (—) in the table, sorting of note table. I don't know the right way to do all these. please if you could guide and address more issues that are in your mind. I'll try to resolve them as well. —Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:03, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

You have done a good job, given that this is the first article you have expanded, but the prose needs a lot of additional work. As I suggested at the FLC, do make a request at the WP:GOCE for a thorough copy edit. Post that, you can open a WP:Peer review so you know what is expected of a featured list before you attempt a second nomination. Good luck! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:31, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

I have almost tried to resolve your and cowlibob's comments. The article now looks different. I think there are some minor gramatical mistakes, which can be taken care. If you could look at it now. Yashthepunisher (talk) 9:34, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Yashthepunisher I don't mean to discourage you, but I strongly recommend you to request a copy-edit at WP:GOCE before you bring this back to the FLC. Yes, the lead is a little more concise than before, but I can still see several instances of poor prose. Remember that a featured-class list should feature professional standards of writing, which it does not, as yet. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 09:50, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Can you please help in improving its prose? It needs some c.e. —Yashthepunisher (talk) 8:30, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

I have resolved all of your queries, if you could take a look at the PR, there are few problems though. Also again I would request you to please if you could help in improving its prose quality, because it only needs some minor re-writting. —Yashthepunisher (talk) 19:41, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Question

Hi Krimuk! I have a question from you. I am planning to take an awards list to FL status. There is a section of Rankings with polls like Top 10 Artists (#2) and such. Does this really have to be on an awards page OR it should be on the main page of the article? -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 12:43, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Could you give me an example? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:36, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
This for instance. -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 03:11, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
I personally don't link these in awards pages, but you can keep it if you want. It's technically an honor she received, so it makes sense at some level. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 03:18, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Regarding to edits on Vidya Balan article

You cant quote any review of a film or acting work of any person living or dead on wikipedia. as you did here

"Vidya Balan, a fine actress with thousand emotions fleeting across her lovely face, has shown us what she's capable of in her earlier movies. But here, saddled with a boring, outdated, weepy character, there was nothing much even she could do."

List

Hey there! I have just created a list of films that I have seen. What do you think of it? Ssven2 Speak 2 me 07:11, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Looks nice. Glad to see someone inspired by my rating style. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 13:00, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
I tweaked it a little by placing them in alphabetical order and writing the year in which the film was released. BTW, did you manage to watch the films on Prithviraj Sukumaran that I mentioned to you a while back? (Urumi, Mozhi, Indian Rupee, Celluloid — all of which are in my list as well.) :-)Ssven2 Speak 2 me 01:02, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Not yet, but I'll try to watch them soon. I saw parts of Urumi on TV though. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:25, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Nice! Apart from those, I like you to watch the films that I rated 3 and a half and above (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada). BTW, what made you give 4 stars to Vishwaroopam? Ssven2 Speak 2 me 01:37, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Sure, I'd like to, but slowly and steadily. There are so many films to watch and such little time. I wish I could watch films for a living. Hehe. As for Vishwaroopam, I really liked it. Very, very ambitious for an Indian film, almost Homeland in scope, and very well executed as well. I see you didn't enjoy it much. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:41, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
The concept of focussing on the lives of Jihadis was quite good. But, the cast selection could have been better. Rahul Bose keeps a face like as if a bear is doing its business (quoting Goundamani there.) Shekhar Kapur literally just comes and goes. The ending seemed rushed and abrupt (Maybe to keep up the tempo for Vishwaroopam 2.) Those 2 and a half stars were for Haasan, Birju Maharaj and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Beautiful song ("Unnai Kaanadhu" based on the Dwijavanthi and Gara ragas, somewhat reminded me of another beautiful song, "Mohe Panghat Pe" from MEA.) Ssven2 Speak 2 me 01:52, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Well, it's always subjective which film works for you and which doesn't, isn't it? The "Unnai Kaanadhu" song is lovely, I agree. The choreography, the sound design, all of it was fabulous! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
No wonder the film won a National Award for its choreography. I agree that it was very ambitious of Haasan to make a film on such a big scale and that too with his own money. But, to me, Hey Ram was a gem (except maybe for the kissing scenes so characteristic of Haasan LOL. Otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. :-)) SRK's presence and acting too especially during the curfew scenes were really good. Another one would be Anbe Sivam, truly one of the best films I have ever seen. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 02:00, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
I don't know why a simple kissing scene is so hyped in our country. It's a basic display of affection. If two people love each other, they kiss; it should never invite any moral judgement. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 02:07, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
True that. But in Hey Ram's case those scenes (especially Vasundhara Das's kissing scene) could have been trimmed to a length of Sushant and Anushka's kiss in PK in the "Char Kadam" song. MAYBE it would have earned Haasan a "U/A" instead of an "A" but due to the sensitivity of the chosen topic, it still would have got him an "A". Well, as you said: "it's always subjective which film works for you and which doesn't". Quoting Ken Watanabe, "this is a very good conversation". It was really nice to chat with a fellow film lover. Happy editing! Ssven2 Speak 2 me 02:22, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Ditto. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 02:32, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

You seen Cul-de-sac (1966 film)? Bizarre, but a great film. Donald Pleasance really deserved to win an Oscar for it, sorry Paul Scofield, as great as your performance was too. His character and acting in it is really among the most remarkable/offbeat I've ever seen, and quite convincing too, he really looked a crazy mofo!♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:37, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

I'll check it out. A friend had actually recommended this to me a while back. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 03:35, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Do feel free to recommend any film that are "must see" right here. Thanks. Ssven2 Speak 2 me 01:39, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Just a bit of information...

If you ever come across a film article with a malformed title, as you did at Rangoon(Film) and for Sultan(film), please know that as that since such is so easily correctable it is always be fine to WP:MOVE the article to the proper title, BEFORE you nominate it for deletion... specially as moving an article after an AFD is opened can cause problems. And as a malformed title IS correctable, it is not helpful to include that complaint in a nomination statement as if it were one of your reasons to delete.

Also, it could be quite helpful to an inexperienced contributor such as User:RAKESHmanu to suggest visiting WP:NCF, MOS:FILM, WP:NF, WP:RS, and WP:NFF... or even the helpful essays WP:TOOSOON and WP:PRIMER. Those who struggle without knowledge will continue making the same errors. Schmidt, Michael Q. 00:36, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Rangoon (Film) AfD Edits

Hi Krimuk90. While I do not doubt that you were acting in good faith, please note that it is against Wikipedia's deletion policy to blank articles that are currently under a deletion discussion unless it is copyright infringing material, an attack page, or similar urgent matter as you did on Rangoon(Film) (see WP:EDITATAFD). Instead, it's helpful to comment on why you feel specific content should be removed from the page in the deletion discussion, to help the community reach a consensus on whether the article should be altered significantly or deleted entirely. Thanks for your contributions! ~ RobTalk 09:30, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

This is specially true as, even if not actually sourced when it was blanked, the topic was not unsourcable. THAT is the difference that matters. Schmidt, Michael Q. 03:18, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

So, the notes section in Anushka Sharma's filmography looks rather incomplete. Help understanding External Link

Hello there, I want to inquire about the authenticity as well as relevance of this website http://www.bfwa.in/ , to me it seemed very relevant to be used either as a source for Indian Films Plot, or as external link like IMDB, for more info about the film crew, cast budget etc, especially of upcoming films. I inquire you because I added few link from this website to existing wiki pages of upcoming movies, like this to Brothers_(2015_film) and others, but they were reverted by user:IndianBio, who is giving reason that I own the website with no proof, just assumption. Anyways I would appreciate if you can provide a neutral view about the link. I would appreciate that. Thanks Angelgirl1992 (talk) 18:24, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

If you read the policy here which IndianBio has tried explaining to you, you'll know why he, who is a much more experienced editor, reverted you. I do wish you would attempt to understand our policy when you began editing here instead of warring with others who are here to guide you. Cheers! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 14:09, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
I did and couldn't find what policy that he mentioned, applies here like he said copyvisio, but I couldn't find anything defying copyvisio in the link. He does that because he think that I own this website as what he mentioned to you where he accused me of Sockpupettery and spammer with absolutely no proof of both. Can somebody revert ones' edit just because he "thinks", with no proof? Kindly if you can explain, not necessarily that I must have to add those links, asking for my understanding. Hoping for your kind reply Cheers!! Angelgirl1992 (talk) 15:15, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
IMDB is an external link which is used to source cast-crew information for all feature films. The link that you are trying to add is something none of us here have heard about, so it fails to meet our notability criteria and is thus assumed to be a case of advertising and conflicts of interest. If you believe the BFWA website adds to the article in ways that the IMDB external link does not, then explain your reasoning in the said article's talk page, garner consensus from other editors and add it back. Until then, please don't edit war. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 15:21, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
I didn't edit war after those warnings, anyways whats the point of discussing them on the talk page when *Experts* like yourself don't agree. Cheers! Angelgirl1992 (talk) 15:46, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
I'm no expert on external links. I said that if you have a valid rationale as to why the BFWA link constructively adds to the article, then garner consensus for it. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 15:56, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for all your help with Meryl, now a GA! FA later in the year. I actually think I'll continue with Claudia Cardinale next once I finish Park Lane with Ritchie.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:37, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Yay, congratulations! We'll take her to FA later. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 04:04, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Incomplete DYK nomination

Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Tabu filmography at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; see step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 00:54, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Meryl Streep

Congratulations for Meryl Streep, an actress I have always admired. :) -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 12:50, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, but this is Doctor Blofeld's triumph. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 13:29, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Meryl Streep has been nominated for Did You Know

Hi. Hope you're well. Good job helping to get Meryl Streep to GA. I have a filmography of one of the other great film actresses of our time up for FLC. If you're free to make comments on it, I'd appreciate the input. Regards, Cowlibob (talk) 13:53, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, but my contributions were very limited. I do intend to help Blofeld take it to FAC later this year though. I'll definitely look into Moore's filmography soon. She is an absolute favourite of mine. :) --Krimuk|90 (talk) 13:59, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Perhaps you are unaware

By this edit, [1] you seem to indicate that you are not aware that We require that all articles rely primarily on "third-party" or "independent sources" so that we can write a fair and balanced article that complies with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and to ensure that articles are not advertising a product, service, or organization. The content in that article is 98% or thereabouts dependent upon primary sources and hence does not come close to establishing that the subject is notable.

You would do well to revert yourself to show that you are not just pouting and acting out against an editor you do not like. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 04:27, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Big whoop! --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:48, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
So: either you were aware and decided to act disruptively from the start or now that you have been made aware, you are still unwilling to correct your error. Neither of those actions speaks very well of you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:55, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

TRPOD comments

Hi Krimuk, I don't think your comments at User talk:TheRedPenOfDoom are constructive or in line with WP:CIVILITY. You're engaging in passive-aggressive behavior and rubbing it in the editor's face. It reminds me of middle school drama—a bunch of mean-spirited people standing around talking smack about someone loud enough for that person to hear. It's just not cool. Anyhow, lecture over. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:58, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Cyphoidbomb. I really respect you as an editor. I have tried to deal with RedPen's destructive edits in the past with kindness and with a genuine desire to improve on his concerns. Over time I have realised that the editor is neither interested in discussing with others nor dealing with other people's concerns. All he wants to do is run a one-man show. And to me, that is not cool. So if I now come across as a mean girl then so be it. I can respond to cruelty with affection only to a certain extent; after that, I won't take too kindly to be being pushed around by a dictator. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:48, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
I appreciate that you are taking my note in the spirit intended. Thanks for that. I understand your frustrations, however even if we don't get along with people we should at least try not to bait them into being more aggressive, as such public comments are likely to do. But I think you already get my point on that. Although Red Pen may not be the most warm-and-fuzzy editor, I tend to almost always agree conceptually with the core of his edits. IMO, he cares about the quality of the content at this project and doesn't tolerate flimsy content and poorly-sourced fluff. As you well know, in Indian cinema this is a big problem. RedPen's challenging of a lot of the content that gets submitted is, generally speaking, a good thing. It's like how in the legal world, lawyers have to file lawsuits against the government to test the strength of the laws. By challenging things you either identify weaknesses, or strengths in the material. Anyhow, again I'm talking too much. You're a good editor, Krimuk. Take care, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:17, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
I second Cyphoidbomb's opinion about TRPOD. Yes, he is one of those few editors who understand WP:NOT. With increased levels of of fanaticism, editors like that are prone to severe criticism. On a side note, TRPOD reminds of Active Banana, who left WP mainly because of the hatred that he received from fellow editors over trivial matters. WP needs editors like them. Vensatry (ping) 17:29, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
Cyphoidbomb, challenging fluffy promotional content is something that is absolutely appreciated. Most of my edits out here also involve reverting the fan-boy edits on Bollywood articles; it's not like I promote them either. My problem is with the way RedPen dismisses the more experienced editors out here who are here to improve the enclyopedia. If he disagrees, he can discuss with them nicely. That's a basic human quality that people must posses. You can't dismiss someone who has been contributing to this website for four years as an imbecile and expect them to laugh it off. And Vensatry, I do wish you would see both sides of the coin before you posted your comment. And fyi, when most people complain about someone's behaviour, there must be something wrong with it. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 03:01, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Krimuk, pardon my ignorance for not understanding the conflicts that you and TRPOD had in the past. I was just voicing my opinion about TRPOD, but it's too late to understand that it had come at the wrong time and wrong place. As Cyphoidbomb says, TRPOD is not a "cool" editor who gets along with others. It can be a major problem only when some one's edits constitute pure vandalism and are often against our policies, no matter how good or bad their edits are. In his case, that's not a serious issue because most of his edits are targeted towards preventing vandalism. You say that experienced editors shouldn't be mistreated, but I see that you had constantly tag-bombed his talk page, a behaviour which is highly discouraged. FYI, he is a vastly-experienced editor with close to 120,000 edits. When you joined WP, he had the level of experience that you currently have. I'm not making any comparisons here, but trying to make you understand that he's been around here longer than most of us. And on his talk page, you had issued several 3RR warnings (revert-after-revert). Yes he was wrong, but don't you think you yourself had violated the rule (in the Shahid Kapoor article)? You further edit-war at his talk page is needless and unacceptable. Also you were wrong on the ownership thing. His edits clearly show that he doesn't have the intent. Coming to reverts, when someone disagrees with you all that you could do is initiate a discussion on the article's talk page (if the one-one discussion doesn't go well). If they are still not listening, you could go for a WP:DR. Having completed a lecture for my part, I must say that I hold no grudges against either of you. Cheers! Is it possible to review Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for featured list status? I would appreciate the feedback.

Oh, and congratulations on improving Meryl Streep to Good article status.
