How do you suggest I get free images for pages (primarily for actors and singers)?

What websites do you use? Also, can you help me improve a few articles? Factfanatic1 (talk) 17:34, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Free images can be found on Wikimedia Commons and the ones released under Creative Commons on Flickr. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:23, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
What articles do you need help on? Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:23, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Right now I'd like help on the three following articles: McClain (band), China Anne McClain, and The Hours (film). I'm just looking for another set of eyes. I've done significant editing on all of these and I completely rewrote the first and added images.Factfanatic1 (talk) 07:46, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Dimple Kapadia

Hi friend,

May I ask you to put Dimple Kapadia's article on your watchlist? I have more free time now, but as you know I've not been very active on WP, and I'm quite busy. I took some time yesterday to expand and update it. I'm willing to further its status whenever I have some time. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 20:02, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Hey, done. I'll keep an eye out for vandalism. On a related note, I can't wait to see her in Nolan's Tenet!! Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:04, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you, same here! Although I'm not sure how it will work out with the turmoil that's been going on. ShahidTalk2me 20:06, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
All we can do is stay positive and hope that things get back to normal sooner rather than later. I hope everything is safe at your end. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:08, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you, keep up the good work. Any new projects, by the way? ShahidTalk2me 20:14, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm done with 60% of the work on Natalie Portman, but need to get to the rest soon. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:18, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
Brilliant. I wish some of these ladies were made aware of the effort you've put into their articles. But then I'm sure you just enjoy the work, and that's great. ShahidTalk2me 20:32, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
Aww, thanks! And yep, I ain't here to impress any one particular leading lady. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:25, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Hey there, Krimuk! Thanks for your edits on the page. Isn't she just beautiful here? ShahidTalk2me 20:33, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Oh, yes. That image would be perfect in her article. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:38, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Great, I'll do it tomorrow. ShahidTalk2me 21:11, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Gorgeous images, indeed. I switched the other to the second full body portrait. Do you think it's too obvious it's from the same event? ShahidTalk2me 09:11, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello there. This is an invitation to join the 50,000 Destubbing Challenge Focus of the Week. £250 (c. $310) is being given away in May, June and July with £20 worth of prizes to give away every week for most articles destubbed. Each week there is a different region of focus, including one week dedicated to South-South East Asia, which includes India, though half the prize will still be rewarded for articles on any subject. There's a potential £120 to be won in total for expanding stubs on Indian films, actors and directors etc and articles may be submitted both for the Indian cinema challenge and the destubbing one. Sign up if you want to contribute at least one of the weeks or support the idea! † Encyclopædius 12:27, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

A question

Why was my edit reverted on the Irrfan Khan article? MikaelaArsenault (talk) 10:09, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

See this. Your edit says that he had a "two year battle with a colon infection", which is not true. He was suffering from neuroendocrine tumour. He was admitted to the hospital with a colon infection yesterday. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 10:14, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

You received this trout, because when moving Priyanka Chopra to Priyanka Chopra Jonas you left behing the talk page archives and the GA nominations pages. It would be nice if you fixed it. Regards, Armbrust The Homunculus 14:47, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

Posters

I know you're smarter than this, but that "poster" of Lajja is most certainly not a poster but a DVD cover (obtained from here) and the fact that Eros International's name is on it. But they did not produce the film; Rajkumar Santoshi did via Santoshi Productions. It's quite obvious that it's a DVD since Eros is also on that side of business. I'm not trying to play detective, but sometimes on simply glancing an image I can conclude that it's not a poster, based on its appearance. PS: Template:Non-free use rationale poster says about the source field, "If not from the website, specifically where and how did you get the image?". --Kailash29792 (talk) 17:10, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

"The poster art can or could be obtained from the distributor." is what Template:Non-free use rationale poster says. Eros International is the distributor. That's the poster on its official website. Also, if an ideal theatrical release poster cannot be found, then as per WP:FILMPOSTER, "a cover image of the film's display case (VHS, DVD, etc.) may be used instead". A query

Hey, hope you are doing well. I had a question: what's the best encyclopediac word for references like 'greatest' or 'best' actor/actress? Priyamal21 (talk) 06:57, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Some context would be helpful. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 08:05, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

On articles like Sridevi, words like greatest are used multiple times, isn't it WP:PUFFERY? Also I have references for Hema Malini, etc where they are described as one of the greatest, iconic, best,.. etc. actresses. What would be a correct way to put it in a sentence? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Priyamal21 (talkcontribs) 10:51, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Vandalism on Timothee Chalamet

Why do you keep changing the name of Theodore Laurie to 'a lovestruck teenager' on the Timothee Chalamet page? It's the name of his character, it's an incredibly well known book and many people would know the characters name.

I originally thought the edits were just vandalism, but I think the point you're getting at is that the name of his character is irrelevant. Is this some sort of Wikipedia standard, because it does not read well. 'Lovestruck teenager' seems like an underhanded criticism of the character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DanEdmonds (talkcontribs) 01:14, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Vidya Balan

Hey there, Krimuk,

I wonder if you've seen Visya's debut film in Bengali. I'm really curious about its theme because it's hard to figure what the story really is based on the plot as it appears in the sources. ShahidTalk2me 21:55, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

Hey, I haven't seen it. But it's available on YouTube if you'd like to watch it. :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:31, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Absolutely. They were all very helpful. :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 09:05, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

OK, tried watching the film. I like the style and Vidya looks stunning, to say the least. But her voice is dubbed, and I can't stand it. ShahidTalk2me 14:55, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Hahaha, understandable. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 18:22, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
I actually thought you'd seen all her major films (of course not the Heyy Baby type). I'd say of the films I've seen so far, her work in Ishqiya is really a cut above the rest. ShahidTalk2me 23:07, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
Hahaha, surprisingly I have seen Heyy Babyy. :P For me, I like her performances in Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, and Tumhari Sulu the most. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 10:54, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
Have yet to see Tumhari Sulu but forgot to mention Kahaani, which is a superior Hindi film in and of itself. ShahidTalk2me 08:09, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
Truly a defining film for Indian cinema. But somehow, the momentum for quality female-led cinema from the early 2010s is reducing now, as the web space has become a more suitable avenue for such stories. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 14:57, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Hey, Krimuk2.0. I never expected to see you here, here and here. But the reason that bolding and italics are used in those cases is because of what MOS:BOLD and WP:WORDSASWORDS state. One thing that MOS:BOLD states is the following: "This is also done at the first occurrence of a term (commonly a synonym in the lead) that redirects to the article or one of its subsections, whether the term appears in the lead or not. These applications of boldface are done in the majority of articles, but are not a requirement." And WP:WORDSASWORDS, for example, states, "Use italics when writing about words as words, or letters as letters (to indicate the use–mention distinction). When italics could cause confusion (such as when italics are already being heavily used in the page for some other purpose, e.g., many non-English words and phrases), double quotation marks instead may be used to distinguish words as words." Pooja Hegde

Dear Krimuk2.0, I saw your edit. Please see this source from Times of India The latest TOI article gives 250.05 crore (equivalent to 265 crore or US$32 million in 2023) for Beast. Thank you Ranjith207 (talk) 12:16, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

Ranjith207, the source simply states a number without saying if the film is successful or not. However, in this source Pooja herself admits that all three films were flops. Cheers! Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:15, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Krimuk2.0, please read this sources 1, 2 . These sources clearly says beast is a successful hit. Pooja Hegde don't says Beast is unsuccessful, but she said only about "Arabic Kuthu" Thank you Ranjith207 (talk) 12:56, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

Explanation for removal of: Beast: Please read this sources 1, 2 . These sources clearly says beast is a successful hit.

Acharya: Hegde plays an extended cameo in the film. Please see this 1, 2, 3,4, 5 sources. No need of cameo role films in lead. Eg. Alia Bhatt has lengthy role in RRR. But though it's a successful film, not added film in her successful films list.

Radhe Shyam: As these two films can't added, I removed Radhe Shyam also. Radhe Shyam can't stand alone. Please don't revert my edits again. Thank you Ranjith207 (talk) 01;20, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

What do you mean by every actress is a model? That is the biggest stereotypic statement I have ever had. Revert you edit immediately because (1) This topic has already been debated since and editors have come to a consensus. (2) if according to you "every actress are models" have every actress modeled for reputable organizations like vogue? Have every actress become a brand ambassador of loius Vuitton?. Now please go back there and do what's right because in her career her modelling life have already been covered thoroughly with high media coverage and verifiable citations. Please go back and fix your edit now. Uricdivine (talk) 12:35, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Natalie Portman

Hello there, saw the quick revert you made on Natalie Portman's page concerning the Screen Actors Guild Award mention. I would agree with your reasoning if it was a miscellaneous award, but a SAG award is a prestigious honor, arguably more so than the Golden Globe Award. Definitely think it's worth a mention. If you still disagree I will open it up on Portman's talk page. Thanks! The One I Left (talk) 15:13, 26 June 2022 (UTC)

Many other awards are prestigious. For you its SAG, for another user it will be something else. For Portman herself an award from a much-smaller organiser might have more meaning than her Oscar. And soon, the lead will just be filled with awards. Which is precisely why we have an awards page. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 15:17, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
I understand why there is an awards page, but simply adding one of the most prestigious awards she can receive is not over the line In my view. It's arguably more prestigious than Globe. Why not switch the Globe mention for the SAG win? The One I Left (talk) 15:24, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
I'm fine with that. I just don't want the lead to be overcrowded with awards. :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 15:27, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
I totally understand. I usually would limit it to EGOT meaning, Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, and Tonys, as well as BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards. Nothing more than that. That's where I draw the line. Saturn Awards, Satellite Awards, people choice awards, etc. are unnecessary imo. Agree that should be left in awards article. The One I Left (talk) 15:49, 26 June 2022 (UTC)

Yea, I figured. And I'm honestly tired by this. :( Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:18, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

Janelle Monáe

Hi. I agree with your edit, but I have a question. How Harriet is more notable than Antebellum? Because Monáe is a leading actress in Antebellum while she is a supporting actress in Harriet. Are reception and accolades of a movie more important than such stuff? --Mann Mann (talk) 07:25, 2 January 2023 (UTC)

I think so, yes. Antebellum is not a notable film in her career, either critically or commercially. Since the lead is a summary, it's better to focus on the most notable aspects of her career. Of course, we should write about her leading role in Antebellum in the article body. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:28, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Sounds fine. Just wanted to know about it for the future edits; e.g. which movies or TV series should be mentioned in the lead section. Thanks for the reply and your contributions. --Mann Mann (talk) 07:38, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. I think the idea is to keep the lead as simple as possible by avoiding clutter and sticking to the most notable facts, for easy reading. Good luck! :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:43, 2 January 2023 (UTC)

The image is the most current, 2022. Why did you change it?--88.15.161.148 (talk) 14:31, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Because recent by a mere couple years does not equal to better. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:10, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
Every other young big actresses out there have their image changed to a recent one except for Sadie, I thought someone with more experience like you would eventually change the image but they didnt, so i decided to take matters into my own hands. If you have something against my image, then you can update it to 2022 yourself since you know so much. Devanjana Rajesh (talk) 19:11, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Pathaan

Did you get a chance to see it? I was under the impression that Kapadia had a similarly small part in it just as in Brahmastra (haven't watched either) but I get that it's bigger than expected. ShahidTalk2me 10:13, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

Heya, yes I did see it yesterday, and it's a fun masala film. Glad that SRK's back with such a bang! And Dimple gets the best scene in the film. Really cool that Bollywood is using older women so much better than it used to. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:12, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
WOW, really? I'm so glad to hear it, now I'm intrigued to see it. I did miss SRK on screen, although honestly I haven't seen most of his latest releases. I totally agree with you, I'm also looking forward to Dimple's film with Pankaj Kapur. Indeed, there are far greater opportunities for senior actresses, especially in this day and age with the streaming platforms etc. And even character actors have it much better than they used to. That's why talents like Shefali Shah, for one, get a chance to show their worth. Good days for Indian cinema :) ShahidTalk2me 15:10, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
Absolutely. Neena Gupta, Sheeba Chaddha, Shefali Shah, and others getting the opportunity to do the best work of their careers makes me so very happy! :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 18:04, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

Singh's connection to Sugar Cosmetics is special and stands out compared to that with other brands because he is not only promoting Sugar Cosmetics (like he does with many others), but he is also investing in it. In fact, it is also his first start-up investment. You can take all that from The Hindu Businessline article I referenced. Thanks! Burfi (talk) 20:41, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Please mention the fact that he invested in it. Thanks. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:45, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
Good hint - thanks! Burfi (talk) 20:52, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
