List of commissioners[edit]

Hi Lars, thanks for your message on my talk page. A few thoughts:

It may not always the best idea to simply copy other articles, although if you do, you can look for articles which are rated as good articles which means they follow wikipedia policies and the manual of style.
Specifically on the list of former commissioners, I would suggest you look at WP:PROSE which explains that prose is preferred within articles to lists, and WP:Source list which explains that each person on a list must meet the requirements of verifiability. But also more generally, I would say that the list should be notable which I am not personally convinced it is in this case (or the Port of Seattle article).
It is worth you taking some time to look at wikipedia's core policies and styles to help you with your editing if you have not already done so. But also don't forget that you can make suggestions or ask questions on the article's talk page and then other editors can help reach a consensus on what should or shouldn't be included. This might take some time, but as this is an encyclopaedia, there is no deadline and it can be better to keep the article shorter for now and make sure things go in correctly rather than rush - see WP:TIND.

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Your addition to Port of Mattawa has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
