Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Misleading edit summary
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Ladakh has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Warning: tendentious editing
Hello, LearnIndology. I became concerned about tendentious editing when I saw this recent edit of yours at Ladakh (mentioned by Doug Weller above). There, you reshuffle some content, as stated in your edit summary, but you also make a highly controversial change: claiming that it's only Ladakh, rather than all of Kashmir, that is disputed between India, Pakistan, and China. Editors are quite likely to miss that important change when you don't acknowledge it in the edit summay. I will assume good faith that you weren't hiding it on purpose, but please do put the most important thing you do into the edit summary from now on. It made me look further at your contributions, and it seems to me that you're here to push an agenda. Here, today, you add an image representing the Indian cultural zone, passing it off as representing Akhand Bharat or "Greater India" — the latter is not a term I find in any of the sources, but apparently your own POV. In this extraordinary edit to Pahalgam, you replaced the actual, well-sourced, History section with a mythology section — still headed as "History" — "Before entering Amarnath Cave Lord Shiva left Nandi, the bull, at Pahalgam (Bail Gaon). At Chandanwari, he released the Moon from his hair (Jata)", and so on. You added a frankly useless link to Google Books as a source. I'm sure the mythology can be sourced, and it's obviously interesting in itself, but to call it "history", and to erase the actual history somebody had painstakingly compiled — I can only wonder what you were thinking. - I am sorry but there is no tendentious editing. Talking about Ladakh, I have initiated discussion on talk page, and yes I should have elaborated the edit summary and about Akhand Bharat the refs clearly say "Akhand Bharat includes region from Iran to Myanmar and from Tibet to Sri Lanka", so I thought it was a good image to add. Even so, can you explain why you added a section presenting mythology, stating in Wikipedia's voice that "Before entering Amarnath Cave Lord Shiva left Nandi, the bull, at Pahalgam (Bail Gaon). At Chandanwari, he released the Moon from his hair (Jata). On the banks of Sheshnag Lake, he released his snakes", etc, and offering it as history? Plus, your section is in practice unsourced as well. Google Books can't be used in such a way, as it shows different things to people in different parts of the world; your link showed me literally nothing. See User:Uncle G/On common Google Books mistakes for how Google Books works. Also, your text is a copyright violation from this site. You can't simply copypaste text from the internet; you must use your own words. Have you copypasted things from the internet in other articles as well? - The text of the section you have renamed is still a copyright violation. Your Google Books reference was surely a fake reference — I don't believe you got it from the book you stated, but either from this site, which claims the copyright to it, or from some other site copying that one. Shivshankar.in doesn't look like the most reliable source to me, but it's definitely better to refer to the place you actually got the info from, rather than to something else. If you intend to rewrite the text in your own words tomorrow, and give a correct reference, that's fine, but a copyvio can't be left up in the meantime. I've removed it. Sleep well. The book Rise of Epic and Purāṇic Rudra-Śiva Or Śiva Maheśvara has been published by "Sri Balaram Prakashani" originally from University of Michigan written by a prominent scholar R. C. Hazra. That's the whole of what I see, and it's presented as the only hit for your search for Bail-gaon. Sigh. You know, I'm getting a little tired of going round in circles like this; it's taking a lot of time. Use your own words and write a reference for the source you actually used, that's all. - A diff isn't really necessary as you've attacked Bishonen in the section above your block where you claim harassment, and also at Talk:Bishonen[11] where your edit was removed by yet another Admin, User:Glen. Bishonen may have been wrong about the copyright issue but I'm not at all sure about that. It looks very much as though you copied from the website Bishonen mentioned[12] and that website may have used the book in question as a source. All I can see from the book is a snippet (not enough to use as a source) and it doesn't resemble your text as much as the website does. But the problem about your edit[13] isn't just where it came from but that you removed actual history and replaced it with a religious story labeled as history. That's not acceptable. - I made that five personal attacks. Read Wikipedia:Harassment and learn how seriously Wikipedia takes claims of harassment. The policy at WP:AOHA is clear:
"It can be seen as a personal attack if harassment is alleged without clear evidence that the others' action is actually harassment"
. Bishonen did nothing more than act in her administrative capacity in offering you guidance and warning you when your editing stepped beyond acceptable bounds. I've reviewed your edits and agree with her. If you cannot accept justified criticism when you breach our conventions, then it may be that you are not suited to being a Wikipedia editor. Hi, I see you've been making some grammar corrections, but please be careful - some of your edits changed articles which were correct in British or South African English to US English, which is not right for those articles - e.g. "centred" or "stabilised" was correct before you changed it.
