I found new infor, and i would like you to see if we need to change it. [1]. Thank - You--Apeaboutsims (talk) 10:43, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Charts column's Lady G and Madonna.

Hello Legolas, how are you today? I'm just wandering why you always removed sub charts of the Billboard Hot 100. They are allowed yet you always removed :S. Just curious. Jayy008 (talk) 15:50, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

PS. Is it a rule for the sales/shipments not to be included in the certifications box, people keep adding them back and I'm wandering if I have the right to revert their edits? Jayy008 (talk) 18:29, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello Jamie. To answer your both questions. Firstly, the reason I remove the sub-charts is because I don't want to give more emphasis on the US charts, but equal importance to all the territories an artist charted. Remember, every charting retailer has many sub-charts, so if you allow one, like Billboard, you will be challenged like why not allow the subcharts of the others? That way, the whole table will generally be a mess and become a WP:DIRECTORY.
For your second question, the reason sales/shipments are not included is because they are not a correct identification of the sales of an album or single. Very few general readers have the idea that sales=/=shipements. Hence, its better to remove such dubious information and let the certifications talk for themselves. You can very well cite this as reason and revert their edits. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:15, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Legolas, can you please add a rule about subcharts because I thought they was allowed. Also

Please "voice" your opinion in form of agree or disagree please about the sales/shipments so everyone knows it's not allowed. Jayy008 (talk) 16:04, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Children's literature has recently launched a new Collaboration department. The first Collaboration Article is Curious George (book) - please contribute in any way that you can! If you wish to be alerted to future collaboration articles, this template will be updated regularly, and can be included on your user page as a template. Poker Face reversion

How is what I did original research? I didn't just make it up. Look at the list of Rock Band DLC. They're both on there. --Kevin W. 18:41, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Because you did not cite a source, hence other readers won't be able to verify whether what you added was correct. --Legolas (talk2me) 02:57, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Lady Gaga's covers

Hi Legolas, this is great now thanks to the Telephone dispute, another user have added the other cover in the "Poker Face" article. This is getting really annoying. I hope I don't have to re-post everything over and over again. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:32, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

I just reverted it. That one grossly fails WP:NFCC as an exact same image exists in the music video section. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:34, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps something could be mentioned in the image's caption of the music video, that it was also used for some of the cd releases. Just to avoid more people trying to re-add the cover. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:40, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
That can be done, however, I'm concerned the way Ryulong is being aggressive regarding the Telephone covers. That talk page is just a plain big mess. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:42, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
I know, and the new people that are responding clearly don't even bother to read everything, many of them are not understanding what was the dispute in the first place. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:49, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Uber fans don't understand Wikipedia's policy, neither care. On top of that Ryulong threatening that he was an admin/godmin and hence everybody should listen to whatever crap he blurts out. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:52, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
I believe he thinks like that because he is not familiar with songs or album articles. If he had been more involved with this kind of articles, he would certainly know that using multiple covers are not common, at least not for GA or FA. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:32, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Ultimately when this song goes for FA (which I will definitely), it will be removed, so no harms done. He he. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:35, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Madonna Notable Live Performances

Hello, I was wondering why performances such as Fever/Bad Girl and Take a Bow are included in the Notable Live Performances section, whereas the Express Yourself at the 1989 VMAs isn't. I think that was a great performance by her. I love that performance. I wanted to post this at Madonna Portal, but didnt know where to place it and it's been a while I post something here, so i dont really recall the symbols to use. Thank you!!! By the way, I'm glad wikipedia found a way to use my Notable Live Performances page in one of Madonna's related page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnnyboytoy (talkcontribs) 16:49, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Telephone Cover.

Ok tomorrow (or later today) on friday 26, march i will close the consensus with the result to remove one of the covers (the black and white one). Is there an official way of doing so or is it simply disclosing the outcome of discussions? Lil-unique1 (talk) 03:53, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

You can simply close it, however, I fear, the aggressive nature of User:Ryulong might turn this nasty. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:55, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for that massive vote of confidence. *sarcastic smile*. It was something that you started and the i've ended but i do fear bitter repraisals for said user... :( Lil-unique1 (talk) 03:57, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Telephone Video Section

Could you reduce the massive quote that's slapped in the middle of the video section. i personally think its a copyvio and is fluffed up air in its current form. I'm sure we could pick a more significant portion of the quote to use instead and also paraphrase? Lil-unique1 (talk) 05:11, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Sure I could. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:14, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Legolas! How are you? :) I just wondering if you can give your opinion in this discussion? Because you are a very experienced user

Hiya

Hi Legolas, how are you doing? There is an issue on the discussion page of Sticky & Sweet Tour (video) about the page name including "(video)" and not "(album)" at the end. I was wondering if you could clear the matter up. When I moved the page from Sticky & Sweet to Sticky & Sweet Tour (video), I was going by the change you made to The Confessions Tour (video) a while back. Maybe you can investigate if this is correct and let everyone know on the discussion page. Many thanks! --JWAD Communicate|Nicely 15:27, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello

Hey buddy... I have come to ask a small favor from you. As you know, I am currently working on Kapoor's article in my sandbox for a while. However, I am yet to be finished and I am planning on adding some new information. When you have the time, could you please take a look at it and let me know what you think of it so far and/or ways that I could improve it further. I would really appreciate this. Thanks :) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 16:50, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

The article has tremendously improved. I'm very happy with the structure and the biographic nature of the article that you have placed in your user area. I personally liked the fact that the personal life section was merged in the main biography (though I'm not sure if it was from the rearrangement that I did). First glance the article appears great. Here are my two cents.
The alternate text for the images, barring the infobox, seems inadequate. More explanation is needed. For eg, "A woman in a blue dress, leaning against a door and smoking" doesnot really portray any particular image. Try something like "A young woman with long, black hair smoking, holding the cigarette with her left hand. She wears a colorful dress and has bangles on her left hand. Her face is lighted from above, where she is looking." This gives the visualy impaired reader a much cohesive image to think about.
Look for wP:OVERLINK in the article. I found many.
Another concern is with the formatting of the sources. Online sources like Rediff, Boxoffice India, Bollywood Hungama etc are not supposed to be italicized, hence remove them. You can do it by making the work parameter of the {{cite web}} template like: work=''[[Bollywood Hungama]]''. This would remove the automatic italicization.
The Further REading section needs to be consistent with the formatting of the References section, especially dates. You can use the {{cite web}} template here also, rather than leaving them bare.
The section names like Debut and breakthrough (2000–2003) doesnot need the full expansion of both the years as they are in the same decade. Hence they can be shortened to Debut and breakthrough (2000–03) and likewise for the rest.
Try adding some more Free images from commons. At present non-free presides over the free one. I'm sure IndiaFM has pictures of Kareena at movie premieres etc, which can be definitely used. I hope you are aware of the IndiaFM commons right?
These are the things I found at glareworthy. Hope they help to get the article the bronze star. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 03:21, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for specifically outlining your concerns; they really helped a lot. :) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 16:19, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Telephone video screenshot

Hey there, I saw that you uploaded a new version of the Telephone screencap I uploaded. First of all, I just wanted to say sorry for not getting it right the first time... I'm still working on familiarizing myself with the ins and outs of Wikipedia.

Other than that, I was wondering if you could answer me one question. In the future, should I try to crop screencaps as close as possible to just show the most important details? The reason I didn't do that with Telephone was because I thought doing so compromised Gaga's intended vision, and from what (I thought) I understood, Wikipedia wasn't supposed to compromise the artist's/director's/whoever's final release version of a motion picture. I'm sorry to bother you, but I figured if anyone would know, it'd be you. Thanks!! The Mach Turtle (talk) 09:34, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

No problems, you are doing a wonderful job already. The reason I uploaded a shorter version of the image is that as per Wikipedia's Non-free content policy, we cannot upload a huge size for something which is not free. Also, cropping is allowed, for the unimportant parts, like in the image I cropped some extra blank screen from sides, which doesnot improve the reader's understanding of the image. --Legolas (talk2me) 09:41, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Japanese Albums Chart / Certifications

Sorry to bother but I am currently unable to find any reliable source to back up chart positions for the Japanese Albums Chart or certifications. Help Requested

Hey, I'm really impressed with what you have been able to do over the past few years with all of your GAs and FAs. Me and a friend have been trying to get Sakis Rouvas to at least GA status, hopefully FA, but have run into some unbearable roadblocks that make it impossible to work on the article. Another editor has taken control of it and only wants things written her way, which in my opinion is very sensationally written. From previous interactions, I've found that she is a dedicated fan. Since you might not know, Sakis Rouvas is one of the biggest singers in Greece with a long career stretching back to the 1990s. He's twice represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest and has even released some English language material in countries such as France. The article is so close to becoming a GA or FA, that it's a shame we can't push it any further ourselves. I'm hoping that you could use your expertise to read through the article and weed out anything unacceptable for GA and FA and possibly help out to a greater extent if you find time. Thank you. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 14:23, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Of course I know Sakis Rouvas and this article is wonderfully constructed. My main concern is the huge amount of citation tags that are present. You have to replace them, then only we can proceed. Other than that there are some small things, but first you need to replace these tags with references. Just let me know when you replace these tags, I will say the rest. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:22, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Just to let you know that I have taken over the GAN for Bad Romance. I've placed it on hold pending some small improvements, though for the most part it looks very good. I'll be away for several hours but will be back to finish going through the article. See Talk:Bad Romance/GA1#Review by User:MuZemike for details. Thank you, –MuZemike 20:30, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

The Remix (album)

I wasn't vandalizing, I was simply reverting an edit which I felt was unjustified as the cover being used was in fact an alternate cover and not a single cover as you claimed. Actually, I'm not exactly sure what it was you were trying to say but this image does add to the significance of the album as it appears in all international markets while the original image is only used in Japan, to my understanding. 66.68.15.142 (talk) 06:27, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Just as a side note, saying "This is your last warning" seems very harsh. I don't think ultimatums are part of Wikipedia's behavioral policy. Maybe you could phrase it more nicely. 66.68.15.142 (talk) 06:30, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Help requested

Hello Mr.Legolas, I have gone through all of your concerns that you earlier pointed out [on Kareena's article]. However, I am having difficulty with developing an "alt text" for the images used on the article, which seems to be pretty easy for you. If you don't mind, could you please come up with the alt text for the following five images (File:Kapoor at Gitanjali launch.jpg, File:Kapoor JabWeMet.jpg, File:Kapoor TReloaded-08.jpg, File:Saif & Kareena2.jpg and File:Globus kareenakapoorsittingontheballsummer08 pic.jpg). I would really appreciate it. Thanks -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 16:04, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Great job buddy!!! Thanks for your help with it. There's just one more thing that I need your help with. I am planning to replace the image in the infobox with this and I will also be adding this image to the "In the media" section. Could you please provide the alt text for the following two images. (P.S. Since these images are not on the article yet, you can either post the alt text here or on my talk page.) Thanks :) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 17:27, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Problem with IndiFM images nowadays are that they have that stupid watermark in it. Before you use this image, I would advice you to increase the sharpness of the image. The alt text for the first image will be same as the existing one, just replace red sari with "white, sparkling dress" as teh sari is really not visible. For the other one, the alt text is as follows: "A man and woman facing to the left. The man has black hair and sharp features, while wearing a tuxedo. Somebody is holding a tape recorder in front of his mouth. The woman wears white sari and has flowing brown hair. She is smiling." --Legolas (talk2me) 03:47, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

The Fame Monster chronology

Hi Legolas, I removed The Remix from the chronology at The Fame Monster and after I removed it, I looked through the history and noticed you were previously against this. You might wish to read this, from Template:Infobox album#Chronology: "In a studio album article, the chain (for most artists) should include only other studio albums, excluding live albums and compilations; these other types can also have their own separate chains."

I was not aware that there was previous reversion regarding this and if I was, I would have taken this matter to the article talk page. –Chase (talk) 23:09, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

One of my two places isn't working, and the only other things I could find from my other source were foreign language, so I don't really know what exactly they are. :-/ Not good. My apologies, the one source I really don't have a clue why it's not working, because it's a campus library search, and it's near finals on my campus, so you'd expect it to be working, but I don't know. Once again, I'm sorry. I tried looking everyday (Especially to see if the campus search was running,) but no dice. I'm trying to figure out where else I could look, as of right now, but with finals starting next week it won't be my top priority, as compared to my finals. I think edit conflicts will always happen if you are developing the parent article. It would be better to copy the article to User:L-l-CLK-l-l/Sandbox and develop there. When done, replace the main article with this developed version. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:41, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thank you for your help. If its not a bother, could you just give it a quick scan and tell me if you find any problems that you found yesterday. The revised version is here Animal, Revised and i THINK ive corrected the problems that ive listed. Thanks alot =) ..:CK:.. (talk2me) 03:28, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
A lot of MoS problems are still left. There is no date consistency, no usage of en-dash, no formatting consistency etc. There is an alternate cover which has no significance, no chart performance in detail. I would suggest go for peer review before re-submitting again. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:52, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

You Belong with Me

I have some questions regarding your notes on the GAN. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 14:09, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

  • "We shouldnot use Billboard for the other charts except the Hot 100 and 200. Also in the chart procession, the dates need en-dash in between them." No, that is wrong, baby, wrong, baby, wrong. It says "If a song has charted on the Billboard Hot 100 you may add any of the charts to the right →" Both Adult Contemporary and Country are listed to the right, and those are the only three Billboard charts used in the article: Hot 100, Country and AC. I fixed the Musicnotes citation and dashes. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 14:38, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Lucky Star

Hi ! I'm a user in French Wikipedia named Pixelyoshi and I translate your GA articles for Madonna's singles. I translated Everybody, Burning Up, Holiday and now Lucky Star. I have a problem about. When was the single released ? in 1983 or in 1984 ? Thanks 86.208.115.235 (talk) 17:22, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Scottish Singles Chart

The Scottish Singles Chart isn't a "false" chart. It's a subset of the UK Singles Chart, so it probably doesn't belong in articles where the song entered the UK Singles Chart, but reverting it as "false" isn't appropriate.—Kww(talk) 03:30, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it should be added to [{WP:GOODCHARTS]]. It only started to be published on the internet in the last few weeks, but the archive goes back for a while. It's from the Official Charts Company, the same company that compiles most UK charts. It's a subset of the UK Singles Chart because Scotland is a subset of the UK. Some editors want to treat it like a component chart, but I'm not convinced that's reasonable.—Kww(talk) 03:43, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Your Eurochart analogy is a good one.—Kww(talk) 03:53, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Re:Dance in the Dark

Sure thing. It appears as though some of the credentials for "Speechless" were mistakenly placed on the "Dance in the Dark" article. A majority of personnel on the article were not credited in the actual booklet for that particular song. Here is a direct copy of the correct song credentials..

Oh, it was rather spectacular. I was really pleased with the overall show, and I had good seats. Some of the performances were pretty much out of this world, different from anything else you'd see. I managed to capture a fair couple of pictures. Some turned out great, and others were ok. The best one I took was when she performed "So Happy I Could Die" on the platform wearing the ice-queen outfit. I can upload that one and some others if you like. • вяαdcяochat 06:56, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Re: Lady Gaga the article's GA

Hello, I am a Page Patroller with this article under Watch. I don't know if you are on it too but its talkpage has a concern I've noticed. Her article attracts fancruft because people come here to read what is written about her and then they take it upon themselves to post ala facebook or myspace. The concern I have is that some of the "regular" editors have brunted legimate material from being posted by editors who are doing WP:AGF. Instead of improving edits, they revert almost as if by will or the need to overprotect the article. And while there are some other concerns on the talkpage, i.e., trying to out her or convict her of alleged drug usage, not much is allowed into that article unless the "regulars" approve of it. I understand that GA status will cause further scrunity and that the article should hopefully become "more stable" but given the nature of the subject, I don't see that happening. I guess what I am trying to say is that you may wish to review the article talkpage. I just looked and archiving may have masked the concerns I addressed. --Morenooso (talk) 13:02, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello Morenooso. Yes, I have developed the article keeping in mind these concerns. The general editors who are blaming the regular editors, crying that their WP:AGF additions have been reverted, needs to understand that defamatory material that they are trying to add is unacceptable in Wikipedia. More so than other things, I see people trying to add/spice up things regarding the hermaphrodite thing and more recently the Time magazine listing although it was achieved by fan voting and not critical notability. Everythign is being discussed in the article rather than going to a revert war of teh article, hence I believe this shouldn't cause a problem in the nomination. Thanks for your concern anyways. Really appraciated. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:36, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi.

Could you add positions from official (see: Polish Music Charts) polish airplays by ZPAV in Telephone (song)? It's:

  1. 5th place in Official Polish Airplay Chart by Nielsem Music (http://zpav.pl/rankingi/listy/nielsen/top5.php)
  2. 1st place in Official Polish Videoclips Chart by Nielsen Music (http://zpav.pl/rankingi/listy/nielsen/video.php).

As I said - it's OFFICIAL (not deleted Polish National Top 50).

I can't do this. MecenasMuzyczny (talk) 15:46, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

I think both need to talk in either talkpage. You need to make him realize that "Poker Face" is a GT article an all articles in it need the same format. If persist the issues go to WP:ANI. TbhotchTalk C. 04:33, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Edit War

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Poker Face (Lady Gaga song). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. TbhotchTalk C. 05:46, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

I cannot stress the advise. Why?
  • Is not obvious vandalism
  • Is not a copyright violation
  • Is not a BLP conflict

It's unsourced, it's WP:Crystal, but not vandalism. 3RR apply here. TbhotchTalk C. 06:00, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Come to think of it, your warning me of 3RR was bit premature as I did not do three reverts in 24 hrs time. The last revert was done on 11th May. I just did two reverts today. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:55, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Basing me on UTC time:

  • 1 at 08:25 May 11
  • 2 at 03:37 May 12
  • 3 at 05:44 May 12

24 hrs. after first revert -> 08:25 May 12. TbhotchTalk C. 06:05, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

  • May I suggest (I'm afraid I have to say this wearing my admin hat) that you disengage from Poker Face for a few hours- edit warring over it isn't going to do anybody any good and I really would hate to have to make blocks over this. I've warned the other guy as well. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 06:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Alejandro

Excuse me, but the chart performances are quite obviously not grouped by continents. The UK is grouped with Australia and New Zealand, and those are two absolutely different continents. They don't even come close to touching each other. That argument doesn't make sense, looking at pages for singles all over Wikipedia it's quite clear that grouping is not necessarily not done by continent as you say. It's true for some articles, but not for the Alejandro article. If Aus and Nz end up grouped with UK then it makes complete sense for Canada to be as well. Chele9211 (talk) 04:12, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Other crap exists

In Wikipedia, especially in AFD's when people point out similar articles, the response is often "other crap exists". I agree with you in that similar treatment is a valid reason.

You wrote "Also, the article was modelled on already existent FAs like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue who follow this rule too."

Care to write a WP guideline with me that we should treat things the same way when possible? Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 17:35, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SimilarTreatmentIsOK I encourage your input! Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 17:47, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your interest. To edit, just click on the link or comment on the talk page of that link. What I seek is neutrality. I don't seek to keep or delete things. I just seek a neutral way of an alternative to "other crap exists". For example, if there's been an AFD for keep, that should carry more weight that an article that simply exists. An article that has been ruled as keep would not be an ironclad precedent but somewhat advisory. That way you could still have a similar article deleted but there would be some consideration that other similar articles exists.

The guideline or essay could also be used to decide on how to treat editing on other articles. If many musicians biographies have one thing, that wouldn't mean that another one was required to have it. Yet if someone wanted to put something in, some weight to similar sections in other articles could be added without someone saying "other crap exists".

This proposal is very logical. It is not a "other crap exists so this must exist". Rather, it is a calm call to give equal consideration some weight.

I'd encourage you to do at least a little editing here to show others that there is at least a 2nd person who agrees with this new essay. Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 21:59, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Going back to the Alejandro Remix EP, I know i could talk about this on the talk page but i dont want anyone swearing at me and such for raising a topic. But anyways, According to a fansite that user posted, they confirmed they were the ones releasing the EP, not interscope. I checked on the day of its release, and neither interscope or her site have confirmed a release in discography. Usually they do especially on the day of its release. "the Remix" even got a mention on her U.S. site and it wasn't even released there. To me, it should go, but what are your thoughts on it?Apeaboutsims (talk) 10:35, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Inconsistancy with Lady Gaga single covers

Hello Legolas, I've noticed you have a lot of input into Lady Gaga articles so i thought i'd bring it up here rather than start billions of tiny discussions. Basically inlight of the Telephone single cover debate several months ago i've been monitoring the general level of quality displayed in the series of articles. I agree it is an excellent set of GA articles thanks to yourself and other editors. You should be proud of them... HOWEVER, there appears to be inconsistancy with the single covers. Based upon the same arguments as the telephone debate and also information given at Universal Music and the Universal Music Store the main single covers we have listed for LoveGame and Poker Face (song) are incorrect. Lil-unique1 (talk) 14:16, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

They are the UK and european covers listed at Universal.co.uk. You can check ladygaga.com/discography for the actual US covers, which are being used in the article. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:28, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Tik Tok (song)/GA2

Hello, thank you for your review. I have begun to correct the issues addressed.

  • There are dead links and redirects in the article as per this. Correct them.  Done
  • Many of the references need proper formatting, like online sources should not be italicized, author names being incorrect, date MoS etc.
Could you please be more specific? like which refs in particular.
  • The certifications section donot link to the certifying bodies.  Done
  • en-dash in Credits section.
Not sure what you mean, sorry. Please explain.
  • Musicnotes should not be linked with a url. See "4 Minutes" which is a FA, as to how to incorporate sheet music. Done
  • Kesha should not be addressed in first names, rather Sebert should be used. It is her real name, unlike Gaga who uses a stage name as her real name.
I dont completely agree, she addresses herself as "Kesha" or "Ke$ha", i think it should be left as is. If you believe it should be changed, what sentences in particular? All other than "[...]is the debut single by American recording artist Kesha." ?

Hi Legolas. Thanks for asking me to have a look at the article. I've made a couple of edits, and I've also left a few comments on the FA nom page. I think you've done a great job with the article and I wish you all the best with it. I'll continue to look at it as time permits, and comment/edit as I go, but some days I just don't get much time to spend here. Don't be discouraged by some of the comments made by reviewers, including me. Every comment is an opportunity to improve something about the article, so although it's taking a long time, it seems to be heading in the right direction. I think you'll succeed with this nomination as most of the comments seem very positive. Rossrs (talk) 14:56, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Can you please point me where I am removing her ancestry? I am merely removing a trivial line about her being the descendant of great-great-great..... so-and-so which is quite unnecessary and combining the introduction line together, while formatting reference. I suggest you delve carefully in to the changes and then place your accusations. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:25, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

chart macros

If there are problems with the formatting of the chart macros, those are easily fixed if you will detail for me what they are. Failing articles on GA review because they use the macros is a really bad idea.—Kww(talk) 18:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

On a related issue, I'm getting resistance from L-l-CLK-l-l about acharts.us, based on the fact that most Lady Gaga articles still reference it. Why are articles making it through GA with acharts.us references in them? WP:GOODCHARTS is pretty specific that unlicensed chart sites shouldn't be used in good or featured articles.—Kww(talk) 22:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Fixing italicization is easy, as is removing an author from the Billboard charts. Any other objections? I'd rather go in and hack it up once, because testing it is harder than fixing it and it really screws up a lot of articles if I make a mistake.—Kww(talk) 03:35, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
If you can point me at what you consider to be a perfectly formatted "web cite" for each chart, I can format the reference to match. As for Billboard charts: it used to be redundant, because the charts were all named "Billboard such-and-such". Now, I guess it should be "US Hot R&B Songs (Billboard)" to be consistent.—Kww(talk) 03:53, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Rogue panorama question

Hi Legolas. Noting your change to the Rogue panorama, I thought I'd better ask if the slider bar at the bottom of the larger image does not work for you. I've used this kind of panorama in other articles, and I began using extra-wide images in imitation of wide-image displays other articles. They all seem to work the same way; they are bigger than the screen display but the slider bar at the bottom of the image allows the reader to see the whole image (though not all at once). Is it not possible for you to see the image on your display by using the slider bar (or whatever it's called)? Finetooth (talk) 16:37, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation. I'm quite fond of the wide images with scroll bars, but I take your point. I'll leave your version in place and wait to see if anyone else comments one way or the other. As I say, I've used quite a few of these wide images, and I'm not so much concerned about this one as I am about the thought that all similar wide images might end up horizontally compressed. In some cases that would make the details hard to see without clicking through to a larger version and waiting for it to upload. Finetooth (talk) 16:58, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Heya from Moni3

Hey, I'm pretty behind the times mostly, but I just wanted to drop a line here to say I just for the first time heard (and saw the video for) "Bad Romance". I'm not sure why I haven't tuned into Lady Gaga or why I chose tonight to hear this song for the first time, but I read the article for it and I can't get the song out of my head. I generally appreciate it when folks say they read an article I wrote and found something worthwhile in it. Thanks for writing the article, this among many.

I've checked out somewhat from FAC reviews, taking a break, but I know Madonna has been up for a while. If you need a helpful review, I'd be glad to do one. Not that I'm promising an automatic support, but I'll give you my opinion of what should be in it for FA. I wrote one once. --Moni3 (talk) 01:04, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh wow. I'm sure you must have found the music video iconic. Thanks for the compliments, it was a difficult article to write. I plant to nominate "Bad Romance" for a future FAC, would you like to help on that? As for the Madonna FAC, its received quite a few supports, but still receiving comments, so feel free to write at the FAC if you please. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:17, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Madonna albums discography

Hello, just wanted to thank you for your work in Madonna albums discography, it helped me a lot --by Màñü飆¹5 talk 04:11, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Madonna and her mother; and her film career

Hi Legolas, I think you've found some good information about her mother. I would be inclined to include part of it in the early life section and relate to the impact on her as a person. In the influences section, I would concentrate more on the impact it had on her, not so much as a performer, but as a driving force for her to succeed. The material you've added addresses the personal impact more than anything else. I've also read that following her mother's death, Madonna developed a close relationship with her maternal grandmother, and that she has commented that much of Madonna's self-confidence comes from her mother. Perhaps there's a place for that too.

Just a couple of comments about the film critic material. "Madonna's film career has been largely panned by the film critic community, who note every film of her's, except Evita, as "atrocious"." is a bit of a problem. It's saying that every critic has called every film "atrocious" and seems to me to be synthesising what has generally been said. I think you could trim it something more neutral as "Madonna's film work has attracted largely negative comments from critics". It allows you to lead in to specific comments, without presenting an opinion. I also think some words convey less than a neutral tone. "Film critic Stephanie Zacharek complained..." may misrepresent Zacharek's intent by adding our own flavour to it. Zacharek's comment need not be neutral, in fact as a critic it should not be neutral, but the way in which we present Zacharek's comment must be neutral. So words like "said", "commented", "stated" are all neutral and would be better in my opinion. We should avoid attempting to convey the emotional intent of the speaker, as even the slightest change in nuance could change their meaning. Her words stand very well on their own. Rossrs (talk) 09:27, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

It's difficult. Let me think about it, and I'll have a go at it later. I'm not sure what would be the best way of incorporating it. I have to do a few things, but I'll try to come back to it a little later. Rossrs (talk) 10:00, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Hey, that's much better! Sometimes less is more.  :-) Rossrs (talk) 10:01, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
I've commented at the talk page because I think it would be good to get the opinion of someone else, such as Moni3. I've got a vague idea about how I think it should be, but I'm not sure enough about it to actually make an edit. Rossrs (talk) 14:22, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
You sure did it! Did it! Did it! And I checked it! Checked it! Checked it! Seriously, my compliments to you. You've done a very good job with it. I edited out a few words that I thought weren't needed but I didn't change anything as far as content goes. I really like it. I noticed you added a photo of Mrs. Ciccone but I'm unsure what you intended with the image licensing tags. Although you have a non-free template including source and rationale, you have also added a public domain template. I'm not sure which one is right, but they can't go together. Rossrs (talk) 13:24, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Hey Legolas, don't be discouraged by all of this. Some articles have a rough road to FA and some don't, but ultimately that doesn't matter. It's attracted more comments and more attention than most nominations do, and each comment and suggestion has helped you improve it. When it does pass, whether it's now or in a later nomination, it will be much more rewarding for you, because you will have invested so much in it, and you'll have something that you can truly feel pride in. Trust me, I've had the same thing happen to articles I've nominated, and I understand the frustration and the disappointment. The manner in which you've dealt with this has been exceptional, so just hold that thought. Rossrs (talk) 14:29, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Howdy!

Haha. Not bad. Just been a little busy lately. How great is it that the "Alejandro" music video is coming soon. I am getting so excited, because I know Gaga can always out-do herself with every music video she does. • вяαdcяochat 07:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

The clip actually really does look a lot like the video for "Vogue", but in its own way. You can watch a 20 second version on YouTube. Here is the link if you want it. I'd have to say, I liked "Telephone", but it was a bit over the top and although I did get the plot-line, some concepts of it still confuse me a little. • вяαdcяochat 07:47, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Could you check this image to see whether I licensed it correctly and whether it is a free domain or not. If not, will you update it to the correct terms of non-free usage in Madonna (entertainer), where the subject is being widely discussed. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:09, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

I would say {{PD-US-not renewed}} is probably a more accurate tag. I can't say with certainty that it's PD or passes NFCC, but it seems OK. Stifle (talk) 08:03, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

You're doing a great job at the FAC. Thanks so much for your efforts, and for the example. I'm toying with the idea of bringing Garth Brooks to FA status some time next year, and I may call on you for peer review help if I get close since you have so much experience now. The Look of Love (Madonna song)

Hello, I've reviewed The Look of Love (Madonna song) against the good article criteria and placed it on hold for a week. It's very close, there are just a few prose issues to address. Regards, --BelovedFreak 21:46, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

It's passed - congratulations! I've left a few comments/queries that Id appreciate you looking at, but there was nothing left to keep it from passing. Good work!--BelovedFreak 13:59, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

singlechart eference formats

At this point, I think the reference formats compare favorably with {{cite web}}. I'll probably never make everyone happy, but that's because people don't pass the same things into {{cite web}}. Take a look around and see if you note anything that still irritates you. You will probably notice that the Hung Medien titles and publishers are inconsistent, but that really can't be helped: Hung Medien formats each site a little differently, and I've matched each site individually.—Kww(talk) 03:43, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Lady Gaga revert

I think you made a mistake here. You may want to give it another look. — ξxplicit 06:55, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

The edit summary on this one was pretty wild too.—Kww(talk) 07:10, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I guess I don't know enough about Lady Gaga to understand why some of her singles are cruft and some are not. Give me a list of hyphens that should become ndashes, and I'll get them in on the next maintenance pass.—Kww(talk) 07:26, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Source is at {{singlechart}}. I'll make sure it matches the original. The "title" is set to match the field returned as the title in the HTML source. Whatever character is used in the source is what the macro should use: our MOS doesn't extended to external sites. Here's an example from swisscharts.com: "B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars - Nothin' On You". I think those are standard - characters, not – .—Kww(talk) 03:41, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm lost: why would you want to change the characters to not be the ones the site returns? What's the point?—Kww(talk) 03:49, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Makes me queasy. Certainly it's technically possible (not even hard), but right now the "title" field is pretty much exact for every site, not just Hung Medien. The only compromise I made was to capitalize the first character in the Hung Medien titles, because the all lower case format that he uses just looked too weird. I can do it, but I'd like to see it discussed first.—Kww(talk) 04:01, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for your kind words about my work, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lady Gaga: Queen of Pop (2nd nomination). Much appreciated, -- Cirt (talk) 22:10, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Dear Cirt, not a problem. Good work and people like you should always be appreciated. About the article, I like the work you have done, but there were some important changes that needed to be done to make it comply with MOS and WP:GAGA. Also, there was no need to install Miszabot, as the page is really a low traffic one, and any archiving can be done manually. But other than that, its on good track to be a future GA candidate. Do you wanna collaborate for it? --Legolas (talk2me) 11:10, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
I do not agree with a bunch of the changes you have made to this article. I do not think that one sentence adequately summarizes the entire Reception section. The subsection about the author is mainly about the author and not "Background", and should be called "Author". I disagree with the changes to teh date formatting you have made to all of the citations in the article. If I change some things back to the way it was, will that be alright? I would really rather not get into a dispute about it. -- Cirt (talk) 11:49, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Okay thanks, I have added back the prior lede and citation formatting. It is really better that way and best not to use that type of date formatting, it is ambiguous and confusing. -- Cirt (talk) 11:52, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I like to use choice sample quotes in the lede (quotes need citations). -- Cirt (talk) 11:54, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

"introducing wrong publishers, deleting the issn numbers and other things which were done to better the article" - okay, I will go back and fix those things. -- Cirt (talk) 11:59, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I said, I am adding it back. Right now. I am sorry but please try to be patient. -- Cirt (talk) 12:04, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Changing of date formatting in references

Please show me where it says 2010-06-07 is the preferred format for dates in citations, instead of what was previously in the article Lady Gaga: Queen of Pop, which was "June 7, 2010" ? I think we should go back to the prior date format. Thank you, -- Cirt (talk) 11:45, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I hope your health is alright. Yes, Wikipedia comes after personal issues. Aaroncrick TALK 11:49, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations from me too, Legolas. All that stress was worth it. You've done a great job. Rossrs (talk) 12:15, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Madonna's tours

I think you can add this section into the biography as some other FA articles about solo artists also do the same such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. Doing tours is an integral part of any artist's career so it's worth adding a section after the discography. Cheers. 219.90.160.18 (talk) 14:17, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Spotlight (song)

The article Spotlight (song) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within a week, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Spotlight (song) for things which need to be addressed. TbhotchTalk C. 18:32, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

re Would you

I explained why it is redundant, unnecessary, and duplicative, in a post on the article's talk page. -- Cirt (talk) 07:38, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

I explained why what you did is simply ridiculous. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:40, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Please do not use such language, it does not foster a positive editing environment. -- Cirt (talk) 07:41, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Don't try to dramatize it more, reply there. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:43, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
In the future, other editors on this project will appreciate it if you do not use such inflammatory commentary as "ridiculous" in edit summaries. -- Cirt (talk) 07:45, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Please do not lecture me on what to and what not to use in my edit summary, as I said, don't dramatize things. And for your kind information, I DGAF. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:48, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
