Jncps (talk) 01:57, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Roma

[edit]

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Roma people. Please cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. (Both the edits had no source for what was added) Lihaas (talk) 00:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added the references for every single "OR and novel syntheses". Cheers.Licor (talk) 00:19, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, now it's up. First time it was missing.
But this one "housing difficulties (many living in degraded ghettos, others benefiting from public housing policies)." is not sourced. Lihaas (talk) 00:25, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Many things are not sourced. I live in Portugal, I know. Licor (talk) 00:26, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Then cite some government source. You can go on hearsay. Lihaas (talk) 00:27, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

King of the Algarves

[edit]

Your rececent amendment to the Algarve article mentions that the last use of "United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves" was 1815-1822. This may be correct in the sense that after 1822 Brazil moved to independence, but the 19th-century kings (and queen) of Portugal from Maria II to Manuel also styled themselves "King/Queen of Portugal and the Algarves". I think you addition is misleading -- or otherwise all the other articles on the various kings need correcting. Cheers, Ron B. Thomson (talk) 19:41, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Olivenza

[edit]

Hi there, can you please explain your rationale for creating the article Disputed status of Olivença and for your choice of spelling?

I find that the article: a) has no unique content of its own, b) is not required to shorten the original referring article Olivenza, c) does not use the English spelling in its title.

If you are going to develop the article soon, then by all means do it or at least put a notice that it is in development and remove the duplicate text in both articles, otherwise I'll put it for deletion on the reasons given above. Thanks. --maf (talk-cont) 11:44, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Aveiro Lagoon, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.new7wonders.com/nature/en/nominees/europe/c/RiadeAveiro. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Aveiro Lagoon

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Aveiro Lagoon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 16:55, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Users J. Patrick Fischer (talk) Merbabu (talk) and Darwinius (talk) are removing systematically the symbols of the city alleging they are not used anymore. The problem is that they doesn´t quote any relevant source to remove the symbols and prove they are not used anymore, despite there´s a law supporting them. I gave the data, he is disputing it, just for personal taste. Domaleixo (talk) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.41.242.19 (talk) 14:22, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article GECI International has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a notable business. Sole reference given is to a story announcing its receivership.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:56, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Salsa Jeans, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
