AfD/Post Election Selection Trauma
[edit]OK, I'm confused about reverting this page but I'll try to follow instructions. I'm writing about your action on this AfD]. There are only 5 votes and the vote was 3-2 delete (one of the three was a merge, one of the two a "weak keep"). Is that really enough votes to establish no consensus to delete? Is there any way to get more people to vote before making a decision on it? Thanks.--csloat 23:09, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Re: deletion
[edit]You deleted Pallasca District, which was nominated for deletion for being listed on PNT for more than two weeks. While this is normally a good deletion reason, the article was translated into a perfectly sensible article a few days into the AFD period, and there was a "no consensus" (inconsensus?) of 50-50 at the end of the AFD period. Will you reconsider the deletion? Punkmorten 07:39, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

No concensus?
[edit]I just saw voting completed on the EmDrive page, with the result being no concensus. If I'm tallying correctly, it';s 22 keeps to 9 deletes. That seems like a very stron consensus to me! Maury 12:07, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Regarding your closure of the AfD as no consensus, I'd like to point at the the votes were a majority delete, until some editors, who have been focusing on my edits, began editting. For example at another of my AfDs a user posted this[2], which included a link to this[3] Note: the google post mentioned this B. H. Carroll Theological Institute afd while many inclusionists voted and User:JzG believed the voting was tampered with. (I have a suspect in mind.)
If you believe the article meets notability standards, fine, but if you doubt that you should reconsider the votes and focus on the reasoning. Arbusto 00:24, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

September Esperanza Newsletter
[edit]
Program Feature: Barnstar BrigadeHere in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors! What's New?September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves! Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there! The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
- The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
- Since the program in development Appretiaion week is getting lots of good ideas, it now has its own subpage.
- The September 2006 Council elections will open for nominations on 18 September 2006. The voting will run from 25 September 2006 until 30 September 2006. If you wish to be a candidate or a member of the elections staff, please list yourself!
- The new Esperanza front page design has but put up - many thanks to all who worked on it!
- TangoTango has written a script for a bot that will list new members of Esperanza, which will help those who welcome new Esperanzains greatly!

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List. RE:Favour

The Halo's RfA
[edit]Antoinette Nora Claypoole
[edit]Hello, Mailer diablo :-) Steve Caruso here from the Association of Members' Advocates.
I just wanted to ask you what considerations you took in closing the following AfD: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Antoinette_Nora_Claypoole. The subject of this article happens to also be a somewhat greenhorn Wikipedian and was very hurt and puzzled as to why her article disappeared despite verifiable credentials, a publishing history, and position within her field. What worried her even more were the comments of User:Ardith010 and what sway they may (or may not) have had on the outcome.
Acting as her Advocate, I was just wondering if I could ask what you remember from this listing.
Peace and enjoy your Wikibreak (cramming aside), אמר Steve Caruso (desk/AMA) 05:15, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]
Thank you very much for participating in my RfA, which closed successfully earlier today with a result of (60/9/4). Although, I encountered a few problems in my RfA, I have peacefully resolved my conflicts and made amends with the people involved. If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free talk to me. I hope I will live up to your expectations. --Nishkid64 22:14, 26 September 2006 (UTC) </style>

Re: Abstain
[edit]My concern is just that the discussion/attempt at clarification somehow may have "chased you away". I hope not. My response was in no way an attack on your choice of "oppose", and you are obviously welcome to continue to express that opinion on the RfA (with or without my permission : )
In any case, Have a great day : ) - jc37 08:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, I somehow misunderstood the answer to question 4 in your RfA. My first impression is that blocks may be handed out arbitarily without much careful consideration ("it depends on situation...cooling down blocks", which is why I quoted the Giano incident), but then looking at the question again twice with the clarification... ;) Well I do also believe that editors should be treated equally (including administrators), as well as following of process, so I have no further reason to object your RfA. If you don't mind, I would say that things would be a lot more better for your RfA if you had worded them better. - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 09:08, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- My intent was straight-forward "simple" answers. (I'm typically known for the "long" answer : )
- Apparently, for you, they didn't come across "straight-forward" - Before I think about tackling the task, how would you suggest I clarify my answer? - jc37 09:14, 28 September 2006 (UTC),
Consupport
[edit]Hi.
There is a message saying you deleted the article on "consupport".
Given that it was being continually improved, after input from danntm and ONUnicorn, can you say what you feel was still missing from the article to cause you to delete it. I am happy to improve the article, or for others to improve it, but if you have reasons for deleting it, this would help in what you feel it was missing.
Also, after the imput from various other people, they should at least be informed that their work in contributing to this article has been deleted. I am happy to inform them, but do want to pass on the reasons so they understand the situation.
I would like to recreate the article (especially after all the improvements), but don't want to do so before I have understood why you have deleted it so it can be improved further.
Please let me know if you have any reasons for deleting the article and any suggestions for improvement. All suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you
Ratty
Carlsbad grimple
[edit]I've opened a deletion review discussion to reconsider your close of Carlsbad grimple. If you get the chance to weigh in on your reasons for closing this as "no consensus", it would be greatly appreciated. -- nae'blis 15:49, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Pacifico Student Cooperative Housing
[edit]I am writing in regards to the Pacifico Student Housing Cooperative article, which was deleted 3 days ago. I researched and posted most of the content for that site; much of which included the buildings unique history and design. There are at least 50 other similar entries about student co-operatives, many of which detail much smaller housing co-operatives. Pacifico is unique in that it was designed specifically as a student housing co-operative using a public affordable housing program that, to my knowledge, has never been used in this way. There is a similar effort underway by the City of Austin at the moment; which made it into an article by the NYTimes. Student housing co-operatives serve at least 10,000 people in the U.S. alone - it may not be maintstream, but if there's a particular model of developing more that is unique, I'd consider that notable, no? --Hojosparks 05:21, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Re : AfD/Monster Zero Productions
[edit]I am curious why in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Monster_Zero_Productions only select ""virtual television network" articles were deleted. There are several others on Wiki, e.g., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_Chan and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy_Task_Force_Astroranger that were spared. In addition, the deletion of the series renders http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_series pointless.
Thanks,
Don Boose
You closed the above AfD back in mid-July. The article, Optimum Voice, has been re-created. I am wondering if you could review the deleted content to determine if this is speedy-able as re-created content or if it would have to be posted as a second AfD. Thanks.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 23:50, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Why hasn't this vanity article been deleted yet? It needs to be, since the case ended as delete. What happened?
As the admin who closed the above AfD as delete (I was the original nom), I wanted to confirm with you the comment made by one of the editors that it be done without prejudice. The article deleted was unsavable, but the subject is actual a valid one, and I plan on writing an encyclopedic article on it. I don't want to be accused of recreating deleted material, though. If you'd like, I'd be happy to let you review the draft in my sandbox when it is ready, before it gets posted to the main space. Thanks! Akradecki 15:47, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Re : List_of_laptops_using_Core_2_Duo
[edit]Mr/Mrs Mailer diablo Can i kindly ask why this page - have been deleted although the debate sentence dsoent hold for example :
Many of the laptops listed are not using Core 2 Duo; no sources cited
Well that absolutely false as the opposite is true & i added source to brands' sites to most models to prove it & also as citation
not even a wikified list
Well i dont know what a wikified list as i am a new user so if u kindly suggest what is it i would be thankful
doesn't really add anything of great value (perhaps if there were pages for the laptop mentioned, ..
done (links to brands' pages was added)
Thans for reading my complaint & hope you could answer my quiry & pardon any language mistakes as English is not my native language

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which finished with a tally of 66/11/5. I learned quite a bit during the process, and I expect to be learning a lot more in the days ahead.
