I'm just curious. You have this fighters record listed as 67-7, yet the record you posted is 23-7. So, what happened to the other 44 fights. Just curious. DavidToma

Yo ROCKY!

[edit]

Rock, as Poe said in the movie "HARD TIMES", Mr. Rockster, it's always a pleasure to see you work." Anyhow, I noticed you deleted my Bergman researched record. I figured you'd comeback for round 2. So, I've decided you can now take over the Bergman page & do with it what you want. I did upload a number of newspaper/magazine articles on Bergman's career, of yeah, and his 2008 match. Yes, he does exist. Yes, he does have over 50 knockout victories, and yes he has been in a number of legit publicatons: Official Karate Magazine, Miami Herald, News For You, Trendsetter, Foundacions USA Brasil, Argentina Hoy, and the sports book, Day by Day in Jewish Sports History. So, I'm done going back and forth. The "evidence" is there, do with it what you please. I'm only guessing that my info on Chuck Norris, Mark Kerr, & Benny The Jet might be deleted too....oh well, what can I say. On that note. I want to wish you a happy holiday season. I'm going with Kimbo by KO over Keny Shamrock. Wishing you all the best. Oh yeah, Mr. Bergman is 50 according to newspaper reports. In 1988, he was listed as 30. All best wishesDavidToma (talk) 22:27, 27 September 2008 (UTC)DavidToma[reply]

hello! just being curious about Stefan Leko's birth date. you wrote it's June 23, 1974, however, i have also seen that some sites indicate June 6, 1974 as his DOB. (here) could you check your source once more and reply with findings, please? cheers! West Brom 4ever 23:42, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kraus Image

[edit]

Hey, i uploaded a picture of Kraus for his article. I hope it is ok. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Umi1903 (talkcontribs) 01:20, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I actually am not very cultured about Wikipedia's copyright content. What should i do to ensure them that the pics were taken by me ?

I checked your "Mo" image which is really cool. I think i might have mistakes with "summary" sections and so on...

Martial arts template

[edit]

I removed the arts you added to the MA template as all the articles are stubs, (i.e very short) teh box is getting quite large so we are trying to restrict it by article quality, (start and above) if you can improve the articles in question it would be great to add them in. --Nate1481( t/c) 11:50, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vitinho

[edit]

Hi, you are perfectly fast as usual! Thanks for creating his profile. All i need is to upload his picture which i taken in last november !!

Actually, i have a question for you. How can you manage to create the entire fight records of the fighters? Do you have an especial source for it or just capitalize on their official web sites something?

Thank you very much for your help and please take care!

Cheers!

--Umi1903 (talk) 17:47, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

O'rite! Anyway, i would love to be taught by you. I am not very capable at all about techincal details of Wikipedia and you are a decent expert!
And yes, it seems that there will be held once again, but it's more likely to digest an other international tournament earlier this season, or a "Thailand vs Turkey" in Bangkok maybe!
I will inform you in any case, keep in touch and have a brilliant day mate! --Umi1903 (talk) 22:38, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think this time he knows that he needs to stand more serious in spite of to bo some posh hehe! You must know him, he is a real good boy, he is young and i am sure that he is gonna be much better but his biggest lack in Turkey is to have no proper "spare-mate". So he needs to go to the Netherlands, where André Manaart takes care of him.
You know what, i had seen André making sparring with his boys and trust me mate, he is the #1 reason for Souwer to truimph! He is really cool as well, typical Dutch, always funny!
For K-1 Turkey, you might come here to follow it, it's worth to see!--Umi1903 (talk) 22:56, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Sophisticated vandal

[edit]

Hey, Marty. I'll take a look at this tomorrow morning - if those sources are real, they'll be trivial for me to find. I do agree that it looks really fishy at first glance though. Sorry I haven't found time to work on the unified infobox, I've been pretty inactive for the past six weeks or so. Take care! east.718 at 09:20, March 7, 2008

I spot-checked a bunch of the sources; none exist. I'm going to do a little more digging, then delete all the articles and post on the administrators' noticeboard as to what to do with the accounts. Great job on finding this and blowing it open! east.718 at 18:51, March 7, 2008
Hey, Marty. I took one last look at this, and it turns out that a few of those sources (such as the Miami Herald ones) do exist - but some of the others still don't. Go to newslibrary.com and search for "sherman bergman", and you'll get results which match the titles in the article. The only three where the blurb mentions him are the "Neighbors MB" article from September 29, 1988, which reads as follows...

Sherman Bergman Sherman Bergman is on the comeback trail. Bergman, an adult education teacher at Fisher-Fienberg Elementary, has returned to the sport of kick boxing after a five-year layoff and improved his record to 14-1 with 14 knockouts.Since his comeback Sept. 15, he has had four matches.Bergman, 30, retired from the sport to focus on teaching. He returned for a much different reason."Sherman came back only to show that through hard work and strong motivation...

...the "Teacher Gets His Kicks in Classroom and Ring" article from September 22, 1991...:

Sherman Bergman uses kick-boxing in the classroom. No, he doesn't jump around the class, but he shows students that his devotion to the sport can be applied to them.Bergman, 33, teaches English as a second language at Fienberg-Fisher Adult Education Center. He retired from the sport in 1981 to teach full time. But in 1988 he resumed kick-boxing, in part, to inspire his students."I try to show them that if you practice and dedicate yourself, you can do...

...and the "Kickboxer Inspires Students" article from July 12, 1990:

Sherman Bergman, who teaches English as a second language at Fienberg-Fisher Adult Education Center, tells students they can succeed at anything through hard work and motivation. Bergman, 32, uses kick-boxing an example. He retired from the sport in 1981 to take up teaching full time at the Miami Beach school. But in 1988, he resumed kick- boxing to show students that his devotion could lead to success the same way they could succeed in school with motivation .As he made his comeback,...

Additionally, I found an IMDB profile written by somebody without any other authorships on that site, for what it's worth. I'm starting to think that we're not dealing with hoaxes here, but rather a walled garden of non-notable people that's being promoted by a fan club or somesuch. east.718 at 00:11, March 8, 2008

I'll think about sending a couple to AFD after doing a bit more research. Frank(Happening)MaHarris has already been prodded and will disappear in a couple days. east.718 at 09:20, March 8, 2008

Re: Creative Commons

[edit]

I know of Susumu's gallery... but it's not CC-licensed. :-( [1] says that the images are free to use but under non-derivative and noncommercial clauses, neither of which will work here. Did you see a Creative Commons logo or dedication somewhere else on the site? east.718 at 10:27, March 12, 2008

Gago

[edit]

Hey Marty,

Hope you do fine mate. You are unstoppable as usual! I just wanted to inform you that the bout which was held on 15th march 08 of Gago Drago, was a part of It's showtime tropy as a super fight of 5 rounds. When I was updating it, saw that you typed there "Balans" already. I didnt like to change it till asking to you. May be this is an alternative name of the event; however, Eurosport broadcasted it intactly live and it was declared and relished as showtime trophy. Could you check this detail, please?

Wish you a brilliant day man !

--Umi1903 (talk) 01:13, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Zeyada is Egyptian. He participated It's Shotime Reality contest as well. I have his profile card and can create his page asap, no worries. Btw, yes Gago's opponent was Chaid Oulad El Hadj (or Alhaj.. actually the best way-out is to see his passport name lol). And i watch entire event on tv. I should say they didnt judge fair for Jiri Zak and Sahin Yakut. Audience was not very happy at all and booed the judges. For Chaid, he was great! He didnt intimidate agains Gago. And Gago has a big weak point that he overloads his ambition! Chaid has good boxing skills and have an never-ending stamina! So the decision was a draw but for my money. 19 y.o. lad has done enough! Chaid was good..--Umi1903 (talk) 09:01, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please provide context for your recent AfD nomination of Hank Bergman. Please see Wikipedia:Guide to deletion in the future prior to nominating. I closed all of your previous submissions and reoganized them into the proper format. I've also asked you some questions that I'd like addressed, if you have a minute. Right now, I am leaning towards keep. Thanks! MrPrada (talk) 07:52, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DREAM

[edit]

Hi! Why do you think DREAM belong under the K-1-events-template? Maybe DREAM having its own template is unnecessary (I just assumed it should), but even so I don't think it should be listed with K-1's kickboxing-events. It's not a K-1 event even though it's promoted by the same owners. Aktsu (talk) 05:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I was wondering why HERO's was missing but I guess the 2008 template is from after it was discontinued. I guess it definetly should be mentioned under K-1 if it's on their official site, but do you think I should delete the DREAM-events-template (it's on the DREAM-pages now) and replace it with the K-1 one? Thanks for clearing it up for me btw :) Aktsu (talk) 08:14, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DREAM Results

[edit]

Please stop undoing my edits for the DREAM results, the way I have edited it is the same as the UFC results are displayed as it looks more organized. --User:SuzukS (talk)

The UFC's event pages are much better organized than the K-1 events, not to mention that K-1 and DREAM (while they are under the same banner) are technically not the same sports therefore they do not need to follow the same structures. --User:SuzukS (talk)
Look, I just think that it is better for things to be uniformly set out, in this case the results of MMA events, I see what you mean that K-1 and DREAM are under the same banner but as I said they are not in the same sport category therefore they don't need to follow the same structures. Plus, your way doesn't look as good, results of each fight are un-descriptive and often inaccurate or vague such as: winner by tko ref stoppage (ref stopage IS a TKO, it's like writing winner by: submission (tapout)) the results are ALWAYS structured as: winner by TKO (punches, strikes, knees etc..), not just on Wikipedia but other results sites.--User:SuzukS (talk)
Are you actually reading what I'm writing? "The UFC is not a guideline" but what you think "looks good" is? Sorry but if you insist on reverting my edits, then just leave it as I have it until I come to a conclusion. --User:SuzukS (talk)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dream5.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dream5.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:19, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Umi1903 (talk) 19:02, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marty,

Not trying to step on your toes, mate. I appreciate your work on all the fighter pages, it's great. However, since you're working on so many you've gotten a bit sloppy on the Masato one. Several dates are wrong. I've gone and revised them all to be certain and I've changed the dates to a more universal method (YYYY/MM/DD) that every country is used to, rather than one that is completely American (MM/DD/YYYY) because some countries use (DD/MM/YYYY). I would appreciate it if you left it that way, because this way is free of confusion. Also, I've corrected a few spelling errors with peoples names. But most importantly, I dislike how you write "Tokyo" next to every single Japanese event. Plenty of the events took place in other cities of Japan. If you're not willing to take the time and confirm which city a fight took place in, then I think it's best to leave the country only. Don't write down the city if you're not sure which city it took place in. Do you have a source that confirms that Masato's first fight in Thailand took place in Bangkok? Because Masato's official biography says otherwise.

As for the event names, I understand why you want to change those--so I have no issues with that. Please tweak those as you see fit.

I'm making an effort to show respect to your work and input, so please do the same for me before reverting my improvements. You can trust my credibility as I have spoken to Masato on several occasions at Silver Wolf gym. I also have all of his books and documentary DVDs. I'm also one of the only people that actually owns every single one of his 59 professional fights. If you have any issues with anything I write, please contact me before reverting it. I will do the same for you.

Thank you and keep up the great work =) --K-masato (talk) 23:47, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are we able to use this photo for Masato's profile?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/da/Masato_at_Dynamite%21%21_2005.jpg

The photographer has given permission for us to use it, provided the watermark stays intact.

If it's okay to use, please upload it on Masato's page.

Cheers =) --K-masato (talk) 23:48, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a link or copy of the email from the photographer saying that its ok to use it would be better, otherwise i'm pretty sure they gonna delete it. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 02:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bit hard to link an e-mail, but here are his exact words:

"Hey mate, hope all is well.

Where can I put that? --K-masato (talk) 02:28, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lee Hasdell article

[edit]

Hey, I was hoping you could help me out with something on the Lee Hasdell article. I went through it yesterday removing quite a few things ranging from copyvios and peacock-word/POV and so on, but ClaudioProductions (talk · contribs) just undid most (if not all) of my edits without explanation (other than complaining about replacing the existing fight record with the one from sherdog, which I responded to with it not being verifiable). I just reverted back to my revision. You probably (I'm only guessing though) know more about this guy and the claims about him (related to kickboxing/thaiboxing etc) than me, so I would appreciate it if you could take a look at and keep an eye on it. Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 14:13, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Meh, he's stubborn and taking ownership of the article so I noticed WT:MMA aswell. Was hoping this would be a simple issue, but apparantly not... Yes it was, strikout because of me misunderstanding :) --aktsu (t / c) 17:02, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With your edits etc, you basically undid all of my edits which to be fair was the whole article. As for knowing this guy and the claims, trust me i know more. But i hope we can continue to get along on here as i hope you are happy with the current article. thank you. ClaudioProductions (talk) 15:09, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing you're replying to me..? Anyway it was only the POV-terms (or whatever it's called... Terms like that he was always "unfortunate" when he lost and that his wins was "impressive" etc etc) I had problems with. I probably misunderstood your intentions when you first reverted. I have no major problems with the article as of now other than I believe it should be better sourced. Sorry if I was a little fast to judge you and made some uncalled for comments. Just repy on my talkpage if you're going to. No need to bother Marty about this :) --Aktsu (t / c) 20:06, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're thinking about me PUI-ing the image? Because it seemed like a promotional image, not something an user with a total of eight edits would have taken himself, released to the PD and uploaded. It's far most likely it's just an image he found somewhere and uploaded without really knowing what he was doing. If it's really PD then I'm guessing there should be some evidence somewhere, which I couldn't find. --Aktsu (t / c) 09:40, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great job on finding a replacement :) --Aktsu (t / c) 05:10, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

Hey, could you look through the two pages of pictures here, and see if you see anyone notable? I think they are from K-1 World GP 2008 in Taipei. The pictures are licensed in CC-BY-2.0, so the should be good to go for Wikipedia :) --aktsu (t / c) 14:34, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did some searching. Could this be Junichi Sawayashiki and this Cătălin Moroşanu? --aktsu (t / c) 14:42, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is probably Ruslan Karaev, while this is Young Hyun Kim, and this is Remy Bonjasky. Would you agree? --aktsu (t / c) 14:59, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, they should be OK to upload. I'll take care if it a bit later :) On the flags, it's only the flags in to top-right infobox I'm unsure about and am trying to figure out (see my talk page). While the other flags in the fight-tables etc. might technically violate MOS:FLAG, there was an consensus on WP:MMA to keep them. --aktsu (t / c) 23:42, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(Oh, and while I'm here: "Goodridge Walks Out During Match Against Nemeth Gabor", and the fight itself can be found by a quick Google-search. Not sure what to do with it, as some Hungarian boxing writer agreed to write it up as a NC instead off a loss and so on... Should probably be explained in article prose anyway, not just added to the record-table.) --aktsu (t / c) 23:51, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Added on Junichi Sawayashiki, Cătălin Moroşanu and Ruslan Karaev. Would appreciate it if you could double-check I added the right image to the right person :) --aktsu (t / c) 02:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject, or I happen to know personally).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 00:49, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Malaipet

[edit]

Thanks, and your welcome.Well I saw him fight in California on the shoxc card and they called him out and billed him as Mongkhon "Malaipet" Wiwasuk, and on the program i got at the event said the same thing. i think "Malaipet Team Diamond" is his what he is called out in Muay Thai fights. I dont think it would make since to change it because his real name is Mongkhon Wiwasuk.Sepulwiki 17:19, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Malaipet issues

[edit]

Malaipet has already started a full time career in Mixed Martial Arts, please stop changing his links to "Malaipet Team Diamond" and his flagicon to United States. I will not stop changing your "corrections" because they are errors. He has stated countless amount of times he no longer goes by "Malaipet Team Diamond" but simply Malaipet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyOWaIS2Jis&feature=channel_page check that out for proof.User:Sepulwiki 23:54, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Malaipet issues

[edit]

well the flagicon isnt for the country they are representing but where they are from, and also I cant just rely on what your telling me, I gave you proof with a video and you have no proof. Malaipet has not fought a Kickboxing or Muay Thai fight in over 2 years, you can check MMA-Core.com or K-1.jp or K-1.dp for proof. All of this is irrlevant being that he NO LONGER goes by "Malaipet Team Diamond" not only is that not his real name but it just looks un-professional and un-educated for that to be on wikipedia.Sepulwiki 00:56, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

wtf, what i was asking for is proof and you FINALLY give it to me, your the one with the disorder Ive been asking for proof of what you have been saying for weeks and you finally show it, and if you wanna be immature and talk shit then w/e next time dont waste my fucking time with this BS of you "talking" to Malaipet dumbshit.Sepulwiki 01:30, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Hamid Boujaoub

[edit]

Marty,

I have been recently creating a number of new pages relating to the Oceania / New Zealand MAX competitions - information is quite hard to find. I notice you have put 'Prince' Hamid Boujaoub's nationality down as Moroccan on some of the pages. I am aware that he is dual nationality - Morocco and New Zealand. However, from viewing numerous fight reports they have his nationality down as New Zealand. For the sake of consistency we have to pick one or the other - what do you think?

Yeah the Badr Hari comparision makes sense. I notice that the Mike Zambidis record has him fighting 'Prince Hamid' (New Zealand) at the A1 Combat Championships - I'll change this to Hamid Boujaoub (Morocco). Cheers.

Scandinavia Tournament

[edit]

Marty,

I realised that the tournament was 95kg only seconds after leaving the message. Was a little confused why Corbett was not at the Las Vegas event - glad you cleared that up. Hoost record looks good, I think the format you have used should be transferred to all fighters if possible. I think Kaman KO'd him in the 80's though.

Re: K-1 MAX Holland

[edit]

Marty,

I have been trying to use the names that had been previously set on the events page. I agree that all competitions should have the correct English name - although this will mean we may have to change some of the previous pages we have created. If you are going to change the title - will you then create a new page i.e. 'K-1 MAX Holland 2006' becomes 'K-1 MAX Netherlands 2006' and transfer the page information across? As for the 2005 MAX events, I did add the Korea fighting network event, but I'll look into it - see what I can find. Last thing - is there any way of editing the tournament table templates so that you get rid of some of the extra space that is created beneath them? Cheers.

K-1 World MAX 2009 Europe Tournament

[edit]

Marty,

Hi – I’ve been looking at the K-1 Europe MAX 2008 in Poland & K-1 Europe MAX 2008 in Italy pages. It says that the respective winners of these competitions qualify for the K-1 World MAX 2009 Europe Tournament. However, there is no indication of these winners (or the losing finalists) appearing at this tournament.

Tournament Brackets / 2005 MAX event

[edit]

Marty,

I wasn’t too sure about the tournament bracket positioning to start with but it is starting to grow on me – it makes sense that the viewer gets the brief overview first and then can look at the fights in more detail below if they so wish. I’ll change my pages to reflect this. With regards to the 2005 MAX event – was it the Korea 2005 one that you were thinking of?

Joe Jeanette

[edit]

The Joe Jeanette article says his date of birth was 26 August 1879 but the infobox you added [2] gives 27 August. Googling seems to suggest 26 is probably corect. can you confirm? Re: Machida

[edit]

I was a bit unsure about wheter to list Machida karate myself just now. I figured that as he's been listed as a Shotokan fighter up till now that's the way to go until sources start using Machida-. With him seemingly labeling himself as it I'm pretty sure it should be changed sooner or later though (sitenote: it'll be interesting to see how big Machida karate will get if Lyoto continues his sucess in the UFC).

About him practicing sumo: I've seen it some other places as well, but I remember for sure it was mentioned in the UFC 98 countdown special. Definetly not his primary style, but I think they sort of hinted that it helped him in the clinch meaning it's worth mentioning. Not 100% sure though. --aktsu (t / c) 22:50, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, I just remembered I actually changed the template to read "primary fighting style" a while ago to avoid just that. Definetly support removal of it per that :) --aktsu (t / c) 23:26, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I changed it now. BJJ could probably be removed as well (not being primary etc), but might as well take one step at the time. --aktsu (t / c) 23:32, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Marty. I don't know how much you know about female MMA, but I've posted about an issue I have with a (sourced, but still plain wrong) statement in the Strikeforce article at WT:MMA. No one has chipped in yet and I was hoping you could maybe take a look. There's also another issue related to calling Strikeforce a "world class" promotion in the lead which you're also free to look at if you want.

I also did some edit to the K-1 MAX Final 8-article which you should probably double check. :) Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 21:24, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

K-1 New Zealand Events

[edit]

Marty,

Hi - the reason I created two pages for the New Zealand events was because I used separate event chronologies for K-1 and K-1 MAX. I agree with what you are saying about the newer events featuring both K-1 and K-1 MAX tournaments. I think the solution would be to go bacl through all the pages and keep K-1, K-1 MAX etc on the same event chronology as this will probably save time in the long run. Let me know what you think and I will get on it. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 13:11, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay we'll change the chronology for all pages to include both K-1 and K-1 MAX events. I'm going to continue creating pages for 2004, 2005 and 2006 for now - when I'm finished I'll go back into the New Zealand events and merge them so that both K-1 and K-1 MAX events are included. K-1 MAX Final / K-1 Slovakia 2005 etc

[edit]

Quite a lot of people are rooting for Buakaw – I’ve heard this could be his last K-1 final. Personally I’d like to see Souwer win but my money’s on Petrosyan. I believe that he will beat Yamamoto without breaking much sweat while Buakaw-Souwer is likely to be a war - a fresh Petrosyan may be too much for either man.

In terms of the K-1 Slovakia 2005 and other events, I will take a look and see what I can find. As for the 2003 events, do you know where I can get any information on the K-1 Grand Prix BIH 2003? It is almost impossible to find a full event list. Also, Fights at the Border III is listed on K-1.de but again it is difficult to find a full event list. Any help on either of the above would be much appreciated. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 08:08, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Xhavit Bajrami

[edit]

Marty,

How are you doing. Shame about Buakaw - was that his last event? If so maybe Yodsanklai Fairtex will replace him in K-1 MAX - he could be quite a force. I have noticed that Xhavit Bajrami has dual nationality but was born in Albania - should we use the Swiss or Albanian flag? I am also in the process of linking the K-1 and K-1 MAX all together - I will sort out those New Zealand events as a result. Cheers.

[edit]

With regards to the K-1 Spain MAX 2009, I'll take a look at it. Also, I noticed that Zabit Samedovs nationality is listed as Azerbaijani on some events, while the majority of pages have him down as from Belarus - I realise he was born and lived in Azerbaijan for a good few years before relocating to Belarus. What nationality shall we put him down as? Finally, how's your Bosnia, Croat etc as that K-1 Grand Prix BIH 2003 page is still in the red and quite irritating as almost every other page has been completed. Maurice Smith

[edit]

Marty,

Hope you're good, Im currently looking at doing a record for Maurice Smith. It's a bit of a long shot but do you have any idea who the Dutch fighter was that he fought on 1991-03-30 at an event called "Soar Into Space" Chapter II in Japan. From the Japanese translation I get the name Beizemusu Case but surely this can't be right. I've got the feeling it might be Jan Wessels, but I'm not sure. Anyway, let me know if you have any idea. Thanks. jsmith006 (talk) 20:53, 31 July 2010

Re: Rob Kaman

[edit]

Marty,

I did see this earlier. However, on a website selling old fight videos I also noticed this:

[3]

(scroll 3/4 page down)

Thriller from Paris I. Kaman-Verheye,Dekkers-Cesar I, Jaid-El Quandili, M.Smith-Manaart...

It would seem that the Dekkers-Cesar fight was on the same card as the Kaman-Verheye fight, barring errors. I know that the Kaman-Verheye fight was 1991 but I'm not so sure on Dekkers-Cesar. Also see [4]] - type in 1991 in the find facility - it shows an image with all the Dutch together on what looks like the same event. Let me know if I'm wrong (or right).

In terms of the Smit defeat it was certainly 1990 in Japan and was for the WKA Junior Light Heavyweight World title, examples below:

  • Mentioned on Japanese fight report - [5]
  • Mentioned in Mike Miles interview 1/3 way down [6]
  • See first post [7]

The fight was taken by Rob the day after his wife had given birth and he had to take sleeping tablets. An out of shapes Rob then lost the fight by 10th Round KO, losing his WKA Junior Light Heavyweight World title in the process. He would win this title back the next year against Luc Verheye (who had in turn won it off Smit). The Leuyer fight, your right, did pretty much finish Kaman and his short(ish) career in K-1.

While we are at it. Have you any info on any of Kaman's Muay Thai titles? I know he won the I.M.T.F. Light Heavyweight belt but who was this against? Changpuek Kiatsongrit in Amsterdam 1990? Also could do with info on his I.K.B.F. title and any W.K.A. title fights after 1983.

Cheers jsmith006 (talk) 08:00, 5 August 2010

Rob Kaman / Changpuek Kiatsongrit II

[edit]

Just noticed that this was a title fight for the W.K.A. belt but what weight was it fought at? Was this Rob retaining his Junior Light Heavyweight belt, or had he moved up to (Super?) Light Heavyweight? I'm struggling a little with the kickboxing weight classes. jsmith006 (talk) 08:49, 5 August 2010

Re: Rob Kaman / Changpuek Kiatsongrit II

[edit]

Cheers Marty - I'll put that down as his I.M.T.F title. I'm assuming he won it off Kiatsongrit and then lost it again in their next fight in Bangkok??? I'm currently updating Marek Piotrowski's record, should have a few more queries in the future, no doubt! jsmith006 (talk) 10:53, 5 August 2010

Kaman / Sedou Kiatsongrit

[edit]

Just found another result for Kaman vs Sedou (Sadou?) Kiatsongrit from looking at this event [8]. I see that Dekkers is fighting Orhono but is this event the 1993 or 1995 one? jsmith006 (talk) 21:47, 5 August 2010

Re: Kaman / Sedou Kiatsongrit

[edit]

Are you sure that it is Suedao Por Pisitched? Kaman is definately supposed to have fought and lost to a third Thai in Bangkok (he had already fought Lakhart and Changpeuk) and as he had 9 (max 12 by the end of his career) losses by 1995 (the first Roufus loss I have as a no contest) and fought in Thailand 4 times by 1995 according to the 1995 Mike Miles interview [9], it narrows down the field a little. This site states [10] he fights Sedou (Sadou) in Bangkok, but this could be a accuracy with the name. Whatever event it is, it appears certain that Dekkers and Kaman fought on the same card so it could be either.

1993-04-26 Muay Thai Spectacle in Bangkok Bangkok, Thailand Delkers vs Orono Por Muang-Ubol Kaman vs Sadou

1995-04-08 Dekkers vs Orono Por Muang-Ubol Kaman vs Sadou

1994 Dekkers vs Superlek Sorn E-san Kaman vs Suedao Por Pisitched

It could be possible that Kaman fought Suedao in Bangkok in 1994 and then faced Sadou in 1995 (after the Mike Miles Interview) but we are still faced with the dilemma whether Kaman fought Sadou in 1993 or 1995. I think that this is driving me crazy!!! jsmith006 (talk) 10:28, 7 August 2010

Cheers Marty good job on getting that info. I think that the Sedou fight was in 1992 as Rob's friend points out - the 1995 was based on Dekkers fighting Orono. I'll update Kaman's record. Thanks. jsmith006 (talk) 11:01, 11 September 2010
While we are on the subject of Kaman, I've probably asked you this before, but do you know when he won any of his W.K.A. titles and the I.K.B.F title. If the I.K.B.F. is the I.K.F. then he must have won that title after 1992. In terms of the W.K.A. Super Light Heavyweight etc this must have been after 1991 due to him moving up in weight and later fighting K-2 and K-1. Pretty sure I've got his I.S.K.A. titles sorted. jsmith006 (talk) 11:29, 11 September 2010

Re: Final 16

[edit]

Yeah been busy but good. I agree that both K-1 and K-1 MAX should be included on the same page as this will keep consistent with all the other K-1 pages (I remember we changed the K-1 NZ pages to be one page). Will be doing quite a bit of work over the following weeks so prepare for a barrage of questions! Also did you find out anything on Kaman Sadou (see previous message)?

jsmith006 (talk) 10:55, 6 September 2010

Vitaly Gurkov / Vitaly Hurkou

[edit]

Just created a page for this guy. I know your a bit of a Muay Thai expert so would be good if you could let me know if there are any accuracy errors. The fact that he seems to have three surnames (due to inaccuracies perhaps) Gurkov, Hurkou and Hurkov has made me suspicious of a lot of the info I found out, for instance the 2008 TAFISA Games in Busan list him as being a silver medalist while another has him as a gold (????). Cheers.

jsmith006 (talk) 11:00, 9 September 2010 Hurkou is in belarusian, kinda like Ignashou. You got it right, Gurkov is correct in English. I asked Rob Kaman about his rec, and gave him the link as well of his page, i let you know what he says.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 03:03, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ramon Dekkers / Ubbergen

[edit]

Hi Marty - was doing some checking and I see that you've got 1988 as the date for this fight while I've got 1991, see [11]. Let me know if this is the case because I've got Michael McDonald down for fighting Milton Felter as this event and will need to change if incorrect. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 8:03, 23 September 2010

On a similar Dekkers note - I have changed his record to 30 losses. Does this mean that he has 10 less wins so his win record is now 176 instead of 186 (that took me a while to work out, Maths isn't one of my strengths). I haven't changed his wins but this would seem logical - let me know what you think? jsmith006 (talk) 9:44, 23 September 2010

Fair enough - I'll leave it in your capable hands. jsmith006 (talk) 13:33, 26 September 2010

Just created a page for this guy. I know he fought Sakmongkol at some point in Thailand but am unsure to what date it was - you got any ideas? Check out the page sometime, let me know if there are any emissions (the guy had over 100 fights). jsmith006 (talk) 13:37, 26 September 2010

Added the fight record for Hippolyte. His initial record was supposed to be only six defeats but I've got 10 - Krongsak 1989 Paris (although Hippolyte states he beats in one match - the other was a draw - maybe he got confused with this one), Mungkordet Kiatprasarnchai x2, Orlando Wiet, Jason Suttie, Hassan Ettaki at Night of Dynamite (had to withdraw due to injury - maybe a no contest/draw instead????), Rayen Simson, Perry Ubeda. I also think he lost to Jomhod and Sakmongkol (can't find date of fights). Also, I see Dekkers was fighting on the same Night of Dynamite card - are you sure it was 1996, as I got 1997 from http://www1.linkclub.or.jp/~lumi/oldnews/9710.html (in Japanese, you'll need to translate). Let me know if you could shine more light on Hippolytes record etc. jsmith006 (talk) 13:18, 30 September 2010

Hi Marty - hope you are well. I have created a series of articles for the defunct SuperLeague promotion which have been tagged for notability and independent sources. I am struggling to get the required (notable) sources, wondering if you could pass me on to information. Also on a similiar tip, are fight events frowned on by certain editors? Seem to have some issues with separate sports events??? Be a bummer if we can't get all the major kickboxing events up and interlinking. Let me know if you can help, cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 18:09, 7 January 2011

yeah I've been alright. Haven't been much active here unfortunately. Glad to see you still at it. Did you asked the guy what was the reason he tagged it? Your references are fine, i don't see the reason.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 03:41, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was tagged because SuperLeague website not considered a good source because it is not independent of the topic and routine news coverage is not considered notable. Also the case was argued that because SuperLeague went bankrupt it was not very notable. Good sources are considered the New York Times and a book on Muay Thai talking about SuperLeague. jsmith006 (talk) 9:34, 10 January 2011
Yeah its does seem a bit pedantic tagging pages that sensibly document a subject. I would have just said that the page needed improvements not gone all out with "it could be deleted etc etc". How do you go about creating a kickboxing project page? jsmith006 (talk) 16:23, 10 January 2011

Hi Marty. Updating Shane Chapman's fight record - says he beat Kaoklai in 2002 but then Kaoklai's fight record said he won against Chapman - so who won out of the two of them? At the moment I'll leave it as it is. Cheers. With regards to that kickboxing project looks like too much work at the moment but who knows maybe in the future. jsmith006 (talk) 17:58, 14 January 2011

Re:Kaoklai Kaennorsing/Shane Chapman

[edit]

Hi Marty. Just finished Chapman's record - I'm pretty sure he faced Chao A Leut for the W.K.B.F. Super Welterweight title instead of Kaoklai (he fights Chao A Leut again a few years later for the same title at a different weight) - the record on his website seems to add up. He does fight a Lotchai but I think this is a super fight earlier on in the year. I also updated his record as the website record ends on his S-1 2006 victory - since then he has had 8 wins and 2 draws so he now has a record of 67-18-5-1. It was quite confusing due to them mixing up two boxing bouts with his kickboxing record. On a final note, do you have any info on when he won his HKMTA Middleweight World title in 2007 and if he has fought past 2008 - his record will need further updating. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 22:00, 15 January 2011

Ivan Hippolyte

[edit]

This message is regarding Ivan Hippolyte being placed as a K-1 Max Champion and should be reeditied as a K-3 Grand Prix Champion.

It is to my understanding that the K-3 and K-1 max championships were of seperate catagories and as such should be seperated. Within the K-1 official website they state their K-1 World Max champions in order of induction. In no official way do they include or recognize Ivan Hippolyte among that list indicating that Ivan should be placed within a separate category. 10:57pm Jan 20, 2011 Guest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.126.41.223 (talk) 05:58, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Marty,

Hi - I was wondering if you know anything about this King's Cup - I take that it is an annual Muay Thai tournament on the King's Birthday. The page says that there is one winner per year but I was under the impression that there are multiple champions per year due to there being different weight classes. Also do you know if it has always been affiliated with W.M.C. and S1? Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 17:15, 1 February 2011

yeah it takes place once a year on dec. 5th at sanam luang. its been promoted by songchai the top thai promoter of lumpinee stadium at least since '90s. he's been behind both WMC and S1 (Songchai 1). they've held the 8 man tournament probably from 2002 for foreigners. but yeah there's a lot of other fights as well during the kings celebration. then there's Queens Birthday on every august and Songkran Thai new years festival on April.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 10:24, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why I'm asking because I was doing Ole Laursen's record and he won the King's Cup 2002 in the 70 kg category in what was a four man tournament [12]. I'm not sure if this tournament was the real deal because I have seen sources that say Laursen was supposed to have qualified for the final in Paris but signed with SuperLeague instead and was unable to participate. At some point I would like to create a results page for each King's Cup from 2002 but need to know if the Super 8 is for a particular weight class and then if there are other tournaments (not known as Super 8) for the other weight classes. jsmith006 (talk) 10:16, 3 February 2011

Fighters Record / Buakaw

[edit]

Marty - hi wasn't sure you were around. I've noticed that certain individuals keep changing records without leaving any notes to what they are doing - Buakaw being a prime example, his record was changed to something like 345 wins, and then someone else countered my later edit saying he has 196 wins when I had put 195 (I'm starting to doubt myself now). I also can't leave any messages because they aren't registered and don't have talk pages. I have started to put notes of what the fighter's records are when I edit (i.e. updated to etc etc etc) and have a series of spreadsheets at home which contain records. Is there any other way we can ensure that records aren't messed around with and are kept consistent - I'm thinking a note in both the top of the record and in the table as well might suffice - what do you reckon?

Oh just went onto the Por Pramuk gym website [13] and Buakaw's Muay Thai record is 245 wins (65(T)KOs), 44 losses and 18 draws, while his kickboxing is 15 wins (11 (T)KOs), 5 losses and 2 draws, making a grand total of 260 wins (76(T)KOs), 49 losses and 20 draws - I don't know when they last updated it I'm guessing 2009 as there is no mention of his S-Cup victory - whar do you think? jsmith006 (talk) 08:59, 15 February 2011

Hi - noticed you've done some good additions to Faldir's record. He was European champion in WFCA and then World champion - does the European champion automatically give up their European title once they become world champion???jsmith006 (talk) 11:10, 23 February 2011

yeah i was looking thru some old dutch fight forums. im not sure if it does, i think you usually have to vacate it if there's no title defences over the year. the ones i added was a dutch titles. it didnt actually say if it was WFCA or WPKL but the fight with el Haddad was when he became the new champ. I just guessed coz usually Beast of the East was WFCA affiliation and WPKL had their own Champions League.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 19:05, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kings of Muay Thai Belarus 2007?????

[edit]

Marty,

Hi - I've got a really weird one. I'm currently creating a fight record for Andrei Kulebin. In this event[14] he is supposed to fight against Jalal and win the W.K.N. world title - this is 2005 (apparantly) and interview backs this up [15]. I also worked out that Dmitry Shakuta and Yohan Lidon fight on this event, only according to WKN website this is on 24/09/2007 (and on Shakuta and Lidon's wiki records as well) - for WKN site [16]. I feel that this 2007 date is completly out as Kulebin fights in the W.A.K.O. world championships in Belgrade between 24/09/2007-30/09/2007 and wins gold. I'm hoping you can understand the poster in the first link so I can have a official date. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 15:37, 27 February 2011

the date on the poster is September 30. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 05:18, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - still doesn't give me the year though. I feel that it is 2005 so will change both Shakuta's and Lidon's record to reflect this. jsmith006 (talk) 15:37, 28 February 2011

Wikitables

[edit]

Marty,

Hi - hope you are well. I'm creating a few pages for W.A.K.O. world championships and I want to have tables to show medalists using the same design as you have with the K-1. Example:

I was wondering how I could create a second table to the right of the existing one (and maybe a third) as otherwise my page is going to extend for miles. I could do this using HTML but quite like the wiki table look and want to keep things consistent. Cheers.jsmith006 (talk) 20:48, 5 March 2011

Cheers Marty - I think I'll use the Olympic Boxing methods - I must be mad it's gonna take months to get all the W.A.K.O. results in.jsmith006 (talk) 18:30, 9 March 2011
It depends on how busy I get with (normal) work - at the moment not too bad. In terms of K-1 I probably know as much as you - I have heard that they are in big financial trouble and are looking for someone to buy the naming rights (not the organization) - which looks unlikely. Some think that they may focus only on the heavyweights and that MAX and -63 kg may be dead - I was looking forward to a -63 kg world grand prix in the future - involving the likes of Saenchai, Sergio Wielzen (it would probably never have happened in if K-1 were in good financial health). My thinking is that It's Showtime will be number 1 shortly - they are based in Europe which is (arguably) the most competitive field in the world and providing all the recent sleaze (drug deal allegations, crime connections, mayor wanting it out of Amsterdam) does not take it down I think it is well equipped to do just that. They need to hurry up and get some proper tournaments on the go and start signing the best fighters throughout all their divisions - imagine Yod in the 77MAX and Corbett in the 95MAX or events in the USA co-promoted with Strikeforce.jsmith006 (talk) 10:27, 10 March 2011
Cheers Marty but have already used the Olympic style tables for both WAKO Belgrade and Coimbra (and its too much work to change back). Only several hundred more pages to do. jsmith006 (talk) 17:11, 22 March 2011

Marty,

Just saw Askerov beat Chris Venrooij - is it 63 wins that he has - I have 61 after the Lippi fight (so 62 on my record). Don't know if I missed updating my spreadsheet. Also need to make sure we update info box and table when doing records overwise it can lead to confusion in the future - Yoshihiro Sato (ok now) jsmith006 (talk) 8:14, 14 March 2011

If you look at the history of the page it was 62 Wins (30 (T)KO's) after Lecca's fight. it shouldbe correct. maybe you missed one of the russian Taftnet fights i think it was added later on. yeah i updated the table, infobox and the date in the box. my notes i have dated nov. 11 2010 before sweden 59W 27Ko's 25
I thought that might be the case. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 11:00, 14 March 2011

Zambidis' record bothers me as well, i dont know how to go about it, its listed on his homepage like this as well.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 08:59, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think they must be including amateur results as well in Zambidis's record - he had all those Balkan fights in the 90's jsmith006 (talk) 11:00, 14 March 2011

L'houcine 'Aussie' Ouzgni

[edit]

Hi Marty, hope your good. Are you still creating a page for this guy because I noticed you had a half finished record in your sandbox. Just out of interest I was wondering what titles Aussie has won as he has three belts in this image [17]. I think he got the U.M.C. Dutch title and some sort of Shooto title and I'm guessing the W.F.C.A. (national, Benelux or world????). jsmith006 (talk) 9:09, 29 March 2011

Alright I'll get that page up and running as soon as I can. Shame your semi retired but hope to see you giving advice every now and then. In terms of Buakaw, I don't fight myself, but seeing the guy in the flesh alone is impressive enough, but to train with him must be something else. I heard Kingstar is down in LA too for some event in the summer. Anyway, take it easy. jsmith006 (talk) 10:41, 29 March 2011

Just finished doing a page for this guy - used some of your record and added extras. He won a W.F.C.A. title sometime but not sure which one or what date? Let me know if you have any info on this - have put it down as Dutch title but have seen European somewhere else. Cheers. (talk) 19:56, 13 April 2011

It must be one of his earlier fights. I'll add it if i can find it. I checked WFCA page it didnt help. Good job creating his page.thxMarty Rockatansky (talk) 17:03, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: WFCA Dutch/European title Chris Ngimbi

[edit]

Do you think that his fight in Helmond 2005 against Murat Delialioglu was for the B-Klass Dutch title (if there is such a thing). The only other fight I think it could have been was against Ray Staring who was at the time WFCA world champion but I do not think it was for the belt. By the way whats going on with the List of kickboxing organizations - I was getting ready to add some pages to it? jsmith006 (talk) 10:13, 27 April 2011

Hi Marty hope your doing good. I've just been doing a page for Pajonsuk only to realise someone else has created a boxing page for him. As Pajonsuk is really a Muay Thai guy who has branched out into boxing I think he should have a Martial art page instead and we can use the boxing info as well. I don't want to step on anyones toes but think this page needs re-doing. What do you reckon? jsmith006 (talk) 12:54, 17 April 2011

Shucks I've just created the page anyway ... check it out when you get the chance there's prob quite a bit missing.jsmith006 (talk) 14:28, 17 April 2011

The article List of kickboxing organizations has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Majority of the entries do not have Wikipedia articles. Excessive external links turn it into a WP:LINKFARM. Categorization would be a better option.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 01:23, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Kickboxing modifications

[edit]

Good day. I've been informed that you are one of the two people that are still active members from the currently inactive Wikipedia:WikiProject Kickboxing. If it is okay with you, I would like to bring some issues related to the project and, if you believe that they are valid, I would like to update the Wikiproject page, at least to try to achieve some standardization with biographical articles and the sources used to reference them. Is it okay to discuss here in you talk page or would you rather that I bring these issues in the project page? Jfgslo (talk) 05:43, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers Marty, I'll take a look at it later - good to see our work is generating more interest. I've created several new fighter pages; Murthel Groenhart, Amir Zeyada, Gregory Choplin as well as added a fight record and biography for Roberto Cocco, so if you have any more info on these guys, feel free to add. Heard about Buakaw, bit of a bummer he's not coming stateside.jsmith006 (talk) 17:25, 11 May 2011

No Buakaw is gonna be here but later on this year. He's gonna have a fight in Vegas its gonna be the finals of the ongoing ThaiFight series. at least that what i was told.hope its all gonna work out but you know how it is.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 01:46, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GUS

[edit]

I'm working on W.A.K.O. pages and I keep getting GUS as a country e.g. Valentin Molchanov (GUS). Any idea what country this is - taking from 1993 - I've guessing ex-Soviet???? jsmith006 (talk) 18:31, 12 May 2011

it has to be a typo. probably was ment RUS.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 19:03, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think its CIS - there seems to be a couple of WAKO events where there was a CIS and Russian representative in the same events - maybe because CIS was so huge. There's also instances of Crimea being represented instead of Ukraine. All very strange.jsmith006 (talk) 08:02, 13 May 2011
I didnt even know about CIS after now reading it. I remember a fighter Andrei Molchanov from Belarus. Im pretty sure its Belorussian name but yeah its weird he represented CIS instead of BLR.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 09:19, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of Kickboxing Organizations

[edit]

Any plans to get this up and running again - some guy deleted it (as I'm sure you know). We now have almost every single kickboxing page with this in red. I'm willing to do some of the pages once I finish most of the WAKO stuff.jsmith006 (talk) 08:05, 13 May 2011

i remember it was put up on speedy deletion, just didnt have time to argue with those guys. i'll do some, the pages i visit.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 09:25, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Have you noticed the Kickboxing record box looks different when you sign in and if you visit without logged in. The font looks bigger for some reason, i wonder why is that. Does that happen to you as well.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 09:31, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't noticed it myself, although some recent changes don't display on some pages until I log in (this recitifies itself after time) jsmith006 (talk) 18:39, 13 May 2011

Have you noticed anyone messing around with the main K-1 page. I found a section on K-2 had been added with the box not closed and someone had replaced Jérôme Le Banner with some American dude as runner up in 1995 - ok now as I've changed it back. Is this something to discuss on talkpage as a possible vandal/clumsy newcomer is at large. It's Showtime on tonight - looks like a huge card. jsmith006 (talk) 14:24, 14 May 2011

They're all at it today - what the hell is this? "Gregory 'Gentleman' Tony is what is called a champion. With 1.95 m per 104 kg, he is at 32 years one of the real hopes for the French boxing. A particularly endearing champion, with the rage of the conqueror and anvils instead of fists." Sounds like an un-biased biography???? jsmith006 (talk) 20:33, 14 May 2011
Any bullshit you see just revert it, don't even hesitate. downloading It's showtime right now, really wanna see Ngimbis fight. the Battle in Desert II in Vegas was awsome as well. Ky Hollenbeck is world class.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 07:46, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't really heard of Ky Hollenbeck before - Choplin's pretty talented though so a good result. I watched the It's Showtime Lyon event live (stream had a few problems - missed Giorgio - El Hadj) and the fight of the night on the maincard was Marat-Lidon, with Lidon being dominated for most of the fight managing to pull off a high kick from nowhere which I'm amazed Marat got up from (he's got a solid chin for sure). Ngimbi looks like hes improving all the time, his knees are incredible, I still don't think he's got enough to trouble the likes of Souwer and Petro but that tournament (if it happens) in Brussels will test his capabilities. jsmith006 (talk) 13:03, 18 May 2011

It's Showtime The Sand 21 May 2011

[edit]

Hi Marty - not strictly wikipedia related (well I'll do an up-to-date report if I can) but do you have any idea if It's Showtime are doing another live stream for this event. They're not advertising on the official website (which isn't the best). You know anywhere I can watch it - I'm in UK? Cheers jsmith006 (talk) 18:31, 19 May 2011

i dont know. I let you know if i find out. i mostly use torrent sites for the event downloads.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 20:03, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's alright buddy, I've got my pass for Saturday - not too many big names but reckon it could be a good un'. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 18:50, 20 May 2011
Alright enjoy it bro. A lot of times the card without big names turns out to be much better. I'm gonna download it later. Looks like HDnet over here is showing Showtime events now as well.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 19:19, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Absolute crap stream - the first hour was pretty much unwatchable cutting out every ten seconds or so. Sorted itself out by the 85MAX title fight which was pretty exciting and the Khamal-Robin fight was excellent - would have been good to see an extra round as Robin hit Mo with some big shots in the third and had him rocking a couple of times. Gerges vs Knowles was the predicted mis-match but I suppose they don't want Gerges getting hurt before his title fight. jsmith006 (talk) 10:27, 22 May 2011
Too bad the streams are always crap. i kinda stayed away form here without getting spoilered. Hafid el Boustati was impressive as well as the Inca Warrior from Peru. Good to see some new fighters making a name for themselves. The 85kg title fight was a war. Have you ever used fight torrent sites? i think the best one is mma-tracker.net, its invitation only - its not only mma, they got tons of K-1, kickboxing and muay thai as well, if you want i can hook you up. use uTorrent and you can download crazy but have to watch your ratio. just need an email.laterMarty Rockatansky (talk) 00:59, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Marty, I saw you edited my deletion of Van Roosmalen's fight record. I spoke to Robin last Sunday and asked him about his record. He told me he doesn't know his own record, but he counted his A-class matches and he fought 22. So There are a lot of matches missing and presenting his record as it's shown on his page is more incorrect than presenting no record at all. (Kipjes (talk) 21:32, 21 May 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Those are all his known fights, if theres a fight added the record gets adjusted. Specially if he even doesnt know his correct record, its a good reference. He says 22 A-class, then the record we have comes pretty close, maybe about 10 fights missing. Its much better than Mike Zambidis for example, he claims his record 165 fights, but to anybody actually find all the details when/where these fights took place is pretty much impossible. You can do a huge favor thou if you can find out his place and date of birth.Marty Rockatansky (talk)

Easy Marty - put in my 5 pence. It's like Thai & Kickbox SuperLeague all again - major newspapers and kickboxing???? I guess if we did it their way there wouldn't be anything on wikipedia at all. I've contacted Jimmy Peters who does most of the French stuff and appears to be a promoter for the organization. Are you talking to anyone else to get their vote? jsmith006 (talk) 17:51, 25 May 2011

One of these self proclaimed "officials" again. Maybe its better not to get Jimmy involved coz they gonna label him as a "owner of the article". One thing we really need to do is the article count on the WP:Kickboxing and put our project template on every page. I gotta look into how to do it.cheers.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 20:01, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Already sent him a message. I'm not too clued up with the politics on this site - just like to create pages and make sure everything fits. Some people just seem to go around deleting things instead - things they know nothing about.jsmith006 (talk) 22:32, 25 May 2011
I'm with you 100% on this. I looked up his contribution history and this what the guy does sets things up for deletion. Anyway it doesnt matter, I liked the way you put in your 5 pence. We should be good on this.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 21:47, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Next Generation Warriors 5

[edit]

Leroy-Fatih was cancelled as Fatih ill before fight see [18].jsmith006 (talk) 22:32, 25 May 2011

Ok thanks, thats what i thought. I'm gonna delete the fight from his rec then. Alright i guess you got it.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 21:51, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Was updating this guys record from the United Glory 14 event and noticed that the record in the fight box 33-5-0 (whatever it was) didn't match up with the other stats (which had him down for 5 defeats - 3 knockouts - before I added his latest loss). I can see the benefit of the 33-5-0 bit but think it's a bit misleading if his actual record isn't this figure. I got rid of the tracking record (33-5-0) but will put it back if there's an issue. CHeers. jsmith006 (talk) 23:17, 28 May 2011

i think when i created his fight rec it was like Leroy Kaestner. Kept changing when a new fight was found because i coudn't find any reference on his total fights. Not sure where the difference came now.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 00:47, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Flags/Wikiproject Kickboxing draft

[edit]

Have left some notes. Think the MMA pages look crap without the flags and believe that our pages (kickboxing) set up using your system are far superior. Most of what the dude was saying seems okay but I'm getting a bit wary of all this (seemingly) zealous rule enforcing that seems to be going on. You need to have a balance between keeping things consistant and well referenced without putting people off by making everything too strict - I get enough rules at work without wikipedia telling me what to do all the time as well. Soon our pages are going to look like those over at liverkick - good info but god they're ugly. jsmith006 (talk) 11:38, 30 May 2011

People now nominating events for deletion before they have even happened - why don't these guys give you a chance to reference stuff before nominating. It like traffic wardens (UK) sticking a ticket on your car before you've even entered the parking lot. jsmith006 (talk) 11:43, 30 May 2011
Ps do we need to put a Keep thing on the French promotion they've nominated. jsmith006 (talk) 11:46, 30 May 2011
I know man, i spent all day yesterday arguing about the flags, got a second opinion from one of the Admins saying its within acceptable practice having flags in record boxes. jsglfo, seems to be from the same MMA camp who are against the flags. I'm not sure what his true intentions are getting this kickboxing project draft finalized. But i feel if i don't do it right now, we gonna get overrun by these guys sooner than later. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 18:24, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good stuff buddy - I'm getting a frickin' headache from all of this. I swear things used to be alot simpler, where the heck have all these guys come from??? jsmith006 (talk) 20:37, 30 May 2011

Marty I've added some references to this page (it probably won't satisfy them) and have referenced the other events from 2011 (K-1). Don't know if it will help but if you find any more let me know. Cheers jsmith006 (talk) 17:21, 2 June 2011

Have created a page for these guys - also did one a while ago for Dmitry Valent. If you have any more fight info on these guys let me know. CHeers. jsmith006 (talk) 19:32, 5 June 2011

Yeah I'll add any guys I'm missing to the fighter list - thought it was automatic!!! See they've deleted the Lubin page we'll have to recreate it when the results come in. With regards to the record box I think they look abit better, you can get more in without it dropping down into a new line. Still hope we can keep the flags - it's gonna look pretty bland without, might as well get rid of the images as well and delete all our pages which don't have references from the New York Times jsmith006 (talk) 08:00, 5 June 2011

Have added a career/biography and fight record for this guy - hard to find stuff but have done pretty good. If you have any more info on this dude let me know (fights etc). Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 08:40, 9 June 2011

Chanapekku Gattindi

[edit]

Japanese translation of a Rajadamnern Stadium champion (assuming Thai) who had a number of fights on A.J.K.F. - image of the man in question can be found here [19] (the guy in long trousers - seems unusual for a Thai). I orginally thought Changpuek Chorsepasert as he had Shoot Boxing fights in Japan in 2004. I'm just trying to complete a few Japanese fighters relying on the japan wikipedia version. It's SHowtime tonight looking forward to Danyo Ilunga-Nenad fight. Thanks.jsmith006 (talk) 17:19, 11 June 2011

Are you sure they guy in long trousers is the man in question not the guy in thai shorts. The first name seems to be Changpuek but i dont know about the last name, its not close to Kiatsongrit either. I'm gonna download the event as soon as it becomes available. I always thought Bonjasky could be a good trainer.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 21:11, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just watched it - pretty good. Ilunga got some determination and Nenad Pagonis looks like one for the future (needs to keep his hands up but hes got some great skills - just needs pro experience). .jsmith006 (talk) 22:19, 11 June 2011

These clowns are at it again. The guys got about four references for the page - surely they can't keep doing this. jsmith006 (talk) 22:19, 11 June 2011

I know but he got involved with edit warring and they gonna use it against him. I'm becoming like a public defender here.hehMarty Rockatansky (talk) 21:29, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's good to have you around pal. If we didn't we'd be overrun because there seems to be an army of these guys - we've even got unregistered users trying to delete things??? I think we saved that French promotion though so not too bad. Can they try and delete things that have already been saved or is there some sort of control over it? Anyways take it easy. jsmith006 (talk) 12:36, 11 June 2011

Easy Marty hope you are good. Have finally finished the pages above but need to know how to categorise all of the events within it - can you help give me some pointers. Cheers buddy. jsmith006 (talk) 21:10, 17 June 2011

1949 Grand Prix season

[edit]

In the article 1949 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, Ken Armstrong (motorcycle rider) is listed as having finished 6th at the 1949 Nations Grand Prix while the motogp.com site lists Leslie Graham as the sixth place finisher. http://www.motogp.com/en/Results+Statistics/1949/NAT/500cc I know the motogp site has been wrong before and I'm wondering if you can confirm the results.Orsoni (talk) 12:55, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WFCA

[edit]

Who the hell has deleted this? I swear this is the second time they've done this and now loads of pages have red links. It would be nice if we had a way of knowing what was getting deleted and when. I feel like a broken record but all it seems to be these days is nominate / delete / nominate / delete. That SuperKombat is still up for deletion as well despite the fact that more people want to keep it than not. jsmith006 (talk) 19:17, 28 June 2011

I know this is scandalous. I have hundreds pages on my watch list but its impossible to overlook everything. What was the WFCA full page name it was listed under. "World Full Contact Association"? Theres might be a way to get it back. The claim was it was unsourced, was it unsourced?Marty Rockatansky (talk) 02:35, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was World Full Contact Association. I'm a pretty easy going guy but this is starting to piss me off. jsmith006 (talk) 06:12, 29 June 2011

Re: Your post at ANI

[edit]

Making no judgement on the merits or otherwise of the complaint raised, I would say that WP:RS is the key to establishing WP:N. Presumably there are magazines which cover the sports under discussion, and thos magazines would cover major tournaments within those sports when they occur. There is no rule that says a source must be online, and extensive use of magazine sources can be used to counter the "lack of hits on Google" argument. Mjroots (talk) 05:46, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks. I'll get the extra sources no problem, but think about the time we have to put into it now to work on this because of this idiot, compare the time it took for him to write "no hits in gnews", click deleted. And its not the first time he does this, matter of fact it seems he takes it personally if his deletions doesn't go through.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 06:30, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

oh hai! I see Mj has already started this discussion, but I'd like to add another suggestion, that WP:MERGEing articles is often a good outcome from mass nominations of this sort. I'm presuming here that you're able to find some sourceing as per above, but that the level of sourcing for any single event is light on. For example, an article 2006 SuperLeague events might be possible even if the individual events don't meet the standard.

Also, please be aware that most adminstrators (including me) will provide deleted material upon request, either directly or at the undeletion venue.

Aaron Brenneman (talk) 08:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That goes for userfication too. Sometimes, the outcome of an artice getting nominated at AfD is a massive improvement in the article, so it's not always bad news. Mjroots (talk) 11:43, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relating to another point raised at AN/I: It's OK to use foreign-language sources. Where there's a choice, English-language is preferred; and in principle it should still be possible for somebody else to verify what any source says; but it's still OK to use foreign-language sources. If we restricted ourselves to English sources only, wikipedia would have a pretty severe systematic bias. If there are currently poorly-sourced articles out there because you've been wary of citing something written in a different language, don't hold back! bobrayner (talk) 02:16, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Marty - more K-1 pages nominated. Guess what - he hasn't notified Supermhj8616 (the page creator). jsmith006 (talk) 23:32, 1 July 2011

I knew he was gonna get to regional K-1 events at one point. I'm gonna go 15 full rounds with this dude, not a problem at all, might not win every round but still theres no quitting in me just for the respect of work what you've done here in wiki. He is getting exposed, I think we already established uncomfortable opposition whats he is used to.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 08:27, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about It's Showtime Template

[edit]

Marty - something a bit more positive for a change. Can you tell me how you can get a button within a template so that it can be accessed for editing like with K-1. I tried with WAKO but was unable to, meaning I have to type into Google (sorry not GNews) to be able to edit it. I'm going to create the template so that it can be used for each It's Showtime event as its getting quite big. jsmith006 (talk) 12:30, 2 July 2011

Don't worry I'm working on it - pretty easy actually - I know theres a lots of other stuff that needs doing with all this nominating that is going on. jsmith006 (talk) 12:16, 3 July 2011

main site: http://kombat.ro/

Cyperus

He just can't control himself - it's like he has to nominate something every hour he spends on wikipedia. jsmith006 (talk) 16:53, 3 July 2011

I wonder how far he wants to go, more far the better for us, he just gonna end up with a lot of egg on his face. Anyway sorry about the template thing, yeah it looks good on showtime pages. He can't touch those but who the hell knows.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 16:01, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh you bet he's gonna go after those ones. He's just building up his confidence by taking out the little fish before heading out for the deeper waters. I'm also very disappointed with a few of the deletionists - the likes of Jefrobot and Papurusa have been helpful but none of them seem to think there is a problem with 1) not notifying the page creator 2) the way he is targeting the kickboxing pages - it doesn't take a genius to see this although he's occasionly nominated the odd extra subject. If I'd known this sort of stuff was going on I wouldn't have bothered joining this site. jsmith006 (talk) 17:13, 3 July 2011
Additionally what the hell are the MMA guys doing - arguing about flags. If they're not careful he's going to be deleting all of the UFC pages. Also, what happened to Jgslo - he's been a great help in defending our pages. jsmith006 (talk) 17:28, 3 July 2011
Trust me if I would have known, I would have not signed up for this either. When I actually started editing here, two buddies Vintagekits got banned and one more guy left pretty much for the same reasons. He is already deleting some MMa pages as well. Seems like he has some personal issues, or like you said, on some power trip, it has nothing to do with wikipedia anymore. Just trying to stay calm, did you notice, the other night when we started joking little bit, next morning there was boom, 8 more pages for deletion. Just like that.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 03:28, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He's just taken a bit of a licking on the Impact FC page by Osubuckeyeguy - although he still isn't taking much notice only seeming to grudingly acknowledge the quote from the USA Today. The thing is MMA is bigger than kickboxing (hugely so in America - which he seems to think is the only place in the Universe - I may live in UK but my dads American so I'm not anti USA) and its very hard to find the kind of sources he wants. In terms of the nominations, every time he gets a bit of resistance he doubles up his offence, I'm not sure if he's getting angry - in fact I think he thinks this is 'jolly good fun' and is relishing the challenge because it must get boring nominating pages that don't offer any fight. Also alot of these rules (WP this, WP that) seem to be biased towards deletionists - I couldn't spot anywhere that told you what to do if a user was targeting particular pages in a delibrate attack. Finally, those admin guys didn't seem particularly bothered in the discussion you raised about 'not telling the page creator', basically saying you can do what you like doesn't matter how many people you piss off. Oh well off to work. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 08:34, 4 July 2011

Respect

[edit]

Hey Marty, long time. Hope you are doing fine mate. Please keep up the work. Best Regards,

Umi1903 (talk) 13:30, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Umi, long time indeed, its hard to keep up any work, a lot of kickboxing pages in deletion right now. If you wanna voice your opinion would be much appreciated.Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SuperLeague Apocalypse 2006, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SuperKombat World Grand Prix II, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SuperKombat World Grand Prix I, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ultimate Glory 11: A Decade of Fights, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K-1 Europe Grand Prix 2009 in Tallinn.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 15:30, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Marty, I see that, unfortunately, I'm late for most of the articles above. My sincere apologies not to handle for them. But saw that people who against them are very strict. They do not know how pro martial arts are going, how the economics continue, how hard people work to get by their lifes with their jobs in the scene. I wanted to type them but it was unneccessary after all, and, I want to read all discussion texts first. Now, anything that I can help though? I try to be more active. Best, Umi1903 (talk) 20:50, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nominating PRIDE events now. Guess he's not biased against kickboxing after all Marty - he hates MMA equally jsmith006 (talk) 07:45, 6 July 2011

Like the saying goes, nothing is unbelievable besides a man eating his own head. Just getting more ridiculous and nobody does anything about him.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 07:48, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm certain that he'd eat his own head if that meant getting a page he didn't like deleted.jsmith006 (talk) 12:39, 5 July 2011

Easy Marty - have listed some sources on debate page(s) - let me know what you think on the page comments. Cheers.jsmith006 (talk) 12:38, 5 July 2011

SuperLeague

[edit]

SuperLeague deleted. I don't think I can be bothered with this anymore buddy - what's the point of creating pages if there just going to be deleted. Libstar and his pals must be ectastic. Add to that that the Admin said he was considering blocking me for turning it into a battleground - ok mate don't say anything about Libstar and his constant nominations and his policy of nominating pages without notifying. Absolutely pathetic. jsmith006 (talk) 08:24, 6 July 2011

Oh just found out Libstars been snitching to same admin User talk:Spartaz who deleted SuperLeague - complaining about personal attacks on the PRIDE page. This place really is starting to suck. jsmith006 (talk) 08:27, 6 July 2011
I got some ideas thou, my buddy is running muaythaiauthority.com, I'll see him this saturday regards of building a kickfighters database, events and fight records site etc. kinda like sherdog or boxrec only for standup K-1/muaythai. I'll see what he says, wanna get you involved as well, a place where your contributions will be much more appreciated unlike here. Later bro. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 18:37, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Give me the details I'm definately interested in that. The way things are going we won't be able to do anything other than add the odd fighters page anyway. I'm actually more disappointed with the other guys than Libstar (esp the mma guys) who just stand meekly by while the pages get deleted one by one - no fight in any of them at all. I think the flag issue sums this place up - most guys wanted to keep them but somehow they still got removed. It's a shame because I was quite happy creating my pages and minding my own business until all this meddling started. Any way keep me informed on whats going on - I'll still be creating the odd page in the meantime. jsmith006 (talk) 21:11, 6 July 2011

Thank you. DASHBot (talk) 05:56, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rajadamnern/Ratchadamnoen Stadium

[edit]

Nice to know at least some of the robots on here are polite. Is the Ratchadamnoen stadium the same place as Rajadamnern Stadium??? Doing Liam Harrison's page. jsmith006 (talk) 14:48, 8 July 2011

Also Liam is supposed to have fought Askerov - could it be this fight (Askerov unknown Russian) [20] - I know Askerov was quite active in Thailand in 2005 and was is a 70 kg + fighter??? jsmith006 (talk) 15:26, 8 July 2011
Back then he was 63kg-67kg. Same as Liam. Could very well be him.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 22:58, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Russian was supposed to be heavier around 68 kg and Patong Stadium champion at the time so maybe this rules out Askerov. Also is Ratchadamnoen stadium the same place as Rajadamnern Stadium??? jsmith006 (talk) 08:37, 10 July 2011
Ye its the same place, in thai there is no correct translation to english.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 06:22, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was him btw. just asked him over the facebook.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 06:57, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Have saved everything to Notepad from 1993-2011 expect for Dynamite and Dream events. What a pain in the ass. jsmith006 (talk) 17:26, 9 July 2011

Have also copied all the It's Showtime event pages as well as champions page and template. jsmith006 (talk) 17:54, 9 July 2011

Upcoming interview with Benny Urquidez

[edit]

I plan a direct interview with Benny "The Jet" Urquidez for publication within a few weeks. If you have any biographical questions that you would like answered for inclusion in his Wikipedia entry, please leave them on my talk page. Paul Maslak (talk) 23:01, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

personal attacks

[edit]

I understand the situation is frustrating, but if you continue with the personal attacks someone will probably indefinitely block you, so I'd advise stopping. Kevin (talk) 06:14, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm done with these people here, after 5 years of contributing for the sport i love. a block would be a favor at this point. so are you gonna do me a favor? I'm asking a complete deletion of my useraccount, not a some 24hr ban.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 06:19, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiKick

[edit]

Hey there, I see that you've been an avid contributor to kickboxing here. Just wondering if some of the fighter pages you've created have fight records taken from WikiKick. I've created many fighter pages on WikiKick and then see them pop up on Wikipedia a week later. I have no problem at all if you've done this, just wondering. I do the same with your stuff for WikiKick.

I'd also like to invite you to contribute on WikiKick. We could use some more contributors and it's much less of a hassle. We don't care about linking every single detail or references. We just want reliable people making a good kickboxing database that can help further advance the sport that we love. I've seen that numerous kickboxing pages have been nominated for deletion and in the end, it looks like a losing battle. I want WikiKick to become something everyone can go to for kickboxing.

Just to give you some background information, I write for Liverkick.com and I'm the director for WikiKick.

Soy Chingon (talk) 07:02, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard of wikikick before. My buddy runs muaythaiauthority.com if im ever gonna contribute again, maybe with him. Right now I'm on hiatus for good, just lost the interest after all the bullshit here.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 07:15, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's a pretty good site Marty - basically part of Liverkick website and could give us the scope to do what we need (kickboxing and Muay Thai). I got some useful info on fighter records on there but the existing records will need tidying up and obviously new event pages put up. As mentioned before you've got my email so let me know what your going to do. jsmith006 (talk) 15:15, 17 July 2011

Kickboxing notability

[edit]

Hello, I think that Kickboxing notability should be changed. Glory and Superkombat are now leading kickboxing promotions, they should be listed as notable. For example it should be like in UFC 3 or more fights, perhaps for kickboxing promotions 4 or 5 fights. Do you know is there any chance for calling a referendum to change rules? --Master Sun Tzu (talk) at 02:45, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
