License tagging for File:BBCSPORTSWORLDLOGO.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:BBCSPORTSWORLDLOGO.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:07, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Matt Davies (BBC) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

Lee James (BBC)

[edit]

In response to your request I have restored Lee James (BBC) so that you can add references and demonstrate notability. Since you say you have references to add you should easily be able to add them in time to prevent the article being deleted again. (10 days are normally allowed for adding references to an unreferenced article about a living person.) You may like to look at the general notability guideline, the guideline on notability of people, and the guideline on reliable sources if you have not already done so, to get an idea what is needed. Russell Fuller

[edit]

Hi - following your request, I've restored the article into your userspace, in User:Mattdsport/Russell Fuller. Please add the necessary references, then you can move it back into article space (or let me know and I'll do it for you.) As well as references, you'll need to establish why this person is notable. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 21:00, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of BBC Stumped, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://alokeshgupta.blogspot.com/2015/01/cricket-gets-global-radio-run-in-new.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on BBC Stumped requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2015/stumped. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Stumped (radio), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: BBC Stumped. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:18, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Excirial. I noticed that you recently removed all content from BBC Stumped, with this edit without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 20:19, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to BBC Stumped has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; instead, use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see here for what to do. Thank you. Your contributed article, Stumped (radio)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Stumped (radio). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – BBC Stumped. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at BBC Stumped – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. RichardOSmith (talk) 20:31, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give BBC Stumped a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. A tag has been placed on File:BBCSTUMPEDLOGO.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. My rationale for this nomination is on the article talk page. In case it is deleted before you get to see it I am reproducing it here:
This article was previously nominated for deletion because it was a C&P move of BBC Stumped. Unfortunately the original was deleted so its history is no longer visible but that, too, had been nominated for deletion because it had been directly copied from a BBC article.
This version of the article, too, directly copies from the BBC article, following it word-for-word in places and with only minor alterations in the others. Because of its origin most of it is promotional rather than encyclopaedic and all the actually pertinent information about this radio show appears already inline at BBC_World_Service#Programming. "Stumped (radio)" does not seem to be a likely search term so I have not simply redirected to that page.
