License tagging for File:Tyler Stenson.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tyler Stenson.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:30, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Tyler Stenson.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://www.gigsalad.com/tyler_stenson_portland and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Control copyright icon Hello MaxMontague4725! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:41, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Whpq! Thank you for notifying me of the copyright. I originally put the image there as I felt that it was strange for the page to have no image of a singer/songwriter who worked with some notable and somewhat famous clients. However, I do understand why it was fair for it to be taken down.
I wanted to ask: How I would be able to upload a copyrighted image in the future if that was possible or what would the some of the requirements be to do so? While I do have some decent experience editing Wikipedia pages as I have edited some pages on the works of Immanuel Kant, I am still somewhat new to editing such pages.
Thank you and have a good day. MaxMontague4725 (talk) 20:56, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The use of copyrighted images is covered by non-free content guidelines. The use of any copyrighted image must meet all of the non-free content criteria. Copyrighted images of living people almost always fail to satisfy WP:NFCC#1 which covers replaceability. It isn't sufficient that a free image does not exist, it must also be the case that a free image could not be created. For somebody who is alive, a free image could be made of the person even if one currently does not exist. If you have questions about media copyright or the use of copyrighted images, you can post at Media Copyright Questions. -- Whpq (talk) 00:18, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
