Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Request reason:
I made an error as I did not understand the puppetry guidelines. My assistant made an account arthistory411 from my laptop to edit the same page as I did not realise this would cause a problem. This will not happen again. I also tried to correct my copyright errors as best as I could by including proper footnotes and indicating that text was lifted as instructed by the administrator. I will do better going forward and would appreciate having my block lifted as I meant no harm and am only interested in adding meaningful information to pages. What is copyright? The exclusive legal right over material granted to the originator for a fixed term
How is Wikipedia licensed? It is co-licensed under CC BY-SA and GFDL
Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Because it would violate the copyright of the current owner and could cause legal issues for Wikipedia - this is why information used should be in the public domain.
Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? If there is explicit permission from the copyright holder or by supplying evidence of non-infringement like hyperlinks to original sources which conform to the licence guidelines and gives credit to the authors.
How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? By following the rules more closely and being mindful of the specific types of licences. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Hello Magnolia667, I am an employee of the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art and had disclosed this a year ago when I began making edits to share the rich history the foundation preserves. I've added the aforementioned disclaimer to my page as you've instructed. All of my changes have multiple sources (like reputable news outlets) and do not rely solely on foundation pages or posts. Could you please add the Museum Network section back to the page? It was a laborious task to add each museum and several sources to support the addition. Thank you. I understand your position, but I do not believe that giving a full list of institutions that are participating in the Monuments Men and Women Museum Network is promotional. That is factual material that is related to over 20 museums worldwide. That is a core tenant of our foundation and to not have it included is to give people incomplete information.
