Why?

Why did you report me bro? My actions weren't even bad. I edited the page because there were changes made at the school. Clearly you have no idea what you are doing and don't know a thing about the school so back off. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Themonotm (talkcontribs) 09:41, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

I reported you because all of your edits constitute to vandalism. You were asked to stop on multiple occasions, but couldn't help yourself. —MelbourneStartalk 09:45, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Editing glossop

Please do not edit my posts. I am still in the middle of restoring changes made by an anonymous user .NOT SPAMMING!!

Pity you weren't so on the ball when deletions were made — Preceding unsigned comment added by MDUK (talkcontribs) 13:12, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi MDUK, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Your edits on the Glossop article contained advertising and further, removed reliable sourced content. Please make sure, if you're going to add/change/remove content, that you do so with an edit summary identifying what you're doing, and follow our policies on neutral point of view. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 13:18, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Those links and sources were already on there but we're vandalised, I was still in the middle of edits when you interfered and then reported me for correcting deletions. Perhaps you would like to direct me to the link for reporting over zealous moderators! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MDUK (talkcontribs) 13:22, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

That doesn't explain why you added content that was advertising Glossop and it's exposure on Facebook etc. Also, you may be getting myself confused with Richard Harvey, who had reverted your edits. Either way, stay clear from advertising (a form of spamming) otherwise your editing privileges may be revoked, and please start using an edit summary to explain your edits. —MelbourneStartalk 13:27, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Th links were for the local media (in the media section) that were removed and replaced with a competing title. Hey didn't you pick up on that?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MDUK (talkcontribs) 13:30, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

You're obviously new to Wikipedia. Firstly, you need to sign your posts with four tildes, like so: ~~~~. Secondly, you should assume good faith and not try to pick up fights. Thirdly, calling people names will get you blocked. Lastly, you should familiarise yourself with the MOS, what's spam and the wiki syntax. Have fun editing! — Lfdder (talk) 13:40, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
I'd be more fixated at the advertising in your editing, rather links. Links like those in question, can always be added. Advertising, however, cannot. —MelbourneStartalk 13:39, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

I suspect MDUK is the same editor as the anon editor 94.71.104.224, which he is using as a sockpuppet. Apart from the blatant pushing of spam by both for replacing the local media link for a 'lifestyle magazine' and vandalism, this also tends to be born out by the Personal attack he made in the edit summary of his page when I tagged him as a Vandalism-only account. Richard Harvey (talk) 13:40, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Well like every other of your inputs mr Harvey, you suspect wrong. Perhaps that is the person who removed the content I tried to replace . They might be a spammer. I am not. I simply tried cutting an pasting from an old revision i had so that all the links they removed were in one place. If you had any intention of being a useful, supportive moderator then you would have given advice ( or even just asked) not jumped in with your size nines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MDUK (talkcontribs) 14:09, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

the word bastardized does not only has meaning linguistically.

That's fine, however, your previous edits (which I and also User:SFK2 had reverted - [1]) contained a web link to a non-notable band. Please only link articles rather web-links, because Wikipedia isn't a collection of links, nor are we a soapbox or means of promotion. Also, please take a read of this guideline on bands and how they must be notable. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 10:16, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Anno Domini Beats page marked for deletion

Hi, recently a page I created on Wikipedia, "Anno Domini Beats" was marked for deletion. However, I believe this is a gross mistake as the editor assumed I am the owner of the company or an employee which is far from the truth. I am a Hip Hop journal and blog editor and Anno Domini Beats is one of the most prominent Hip Hop production companies, having worked with artist such as 50Cent, Snoop Dogg, The Game and many more. Hence I felt compelled to create the article since there wasn't yet one established on Wikipedia. Would you kindly remove the deletion request, I have already updated the article with new sources and will continue to do so. Thank you.

Kind regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.148.21.63 (talk) 07:46, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ghostemperor84, and welcome back to Wikipedia!
You may voice your opinion and what you have done to change the article - however, removing the article for deletion will not be able to happen, until a discussion has ensued. I will, however, ask for input from the editor who has created this discussion. —MelbourneStartalk 10:03, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Hey there, thank you for contacting me. This person you're interacting with is lying when they write, "'the editor assumed I am the owner of the company or an employee which is far from the truth'". Despite claiming to not be the founder of this company a simple Google search turns up proof to the contrary. I've just reviewed their latest edits and they are still citing unreliable sources. One source leads to Wikipedia Germany another to a self-initiated Press release and the rest are personal blogs. Anno Domini Beats is a COI polluted vanity article and as such it really should be deleted as a CSD A7. Thank you again. OmniArticleEditor (talk) 10:25, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
You might want to join the newly relisted deletion discussion. OmniArticleEditor (talk) 00:53, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Nobots

Dear MelbourneStar, please never write me again with a bot, or any other kind of automated tool. Thank you.Stenen Bijl (talk) 09:14, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

That's perfectly fine. Please make sure you never blank articles, especially when venues such as Articles for Deletion exist! MelbourneStartalk 09:18, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't have time for your venues. I'm trying to help you. You want to publish bullshit, that's your affirmative choice. Why don't you take a look at what you're reverting before you post it? Instead, you're blasting away at "vandals" like Space Invaders, with no capacity for analysis beyond "hey no blanking!" Maybe 95% of the time that works for you. Hey, C is for cookie, good enough for me.Stenen Bijl (talk) 09:21, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
If you don't understand "Don't blank articles; instead, request deletion" despite I assume, actually reading this guideline - than that's not my problem. Blanking may be necessary if there's libel or privacy reasons as an emergency measure, (described in the policy on biographies of living persons) but I am not seeing that; whilst some sections may need to be tweaked – that doesn't justify blanking an article. I do see books; and interviews cited, however.
Also Articles for Deletion isn't my venue (or 'brilliant idea') it's Wikipedia's - the community. If you are unable or "don't have the time" to discuss things properly with the community, you may find it a little difficult to do things on Wikipedia. —MelbourneStartalk 09:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
You may not be aware of this, but actually no one has to read these guidelines, much less agree with them, in order to register an account and edit. I am not interested in your precedures. If they were any good, it would be reflected in the quality of your articles. I am not sure what point there can be to stick to them when they manifestly fail to produce adequate results. All I see from you is reposting poorly-sourced bullshit, which then propagates across the internet. Spamming, really.Stenen Bijl (talk) 09:36, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
All you need to know, is that if you continue to blank articles, despite warnings from myself, and others not to, you may lose your editing privileges. Now, you can dismiss this much-needed advice, or appreciate it - but that's your discretion. I believe we are finished here, —MelbourneStartalk 09:40, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
I hope that's true. Now go on with your automated vandal-fighting crusade and leave serious editors alone.Stenen Bijl (talk) 09:42, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
I will go on my 'automated vandal-fighting crusade' and have been been leaving the 'serious editors alone.' MelbourneStartalk 09:45, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi, MelbourneStar, not sure that this was intentional, but the new star part of your signature doesn't lead to your contributions. I think I know why, but you have the sig. Thanks. WorldTraveller101(Trouble?/My Work) 10:05, 3 June 2013 (UTC) 09:56, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Chapulling wiki page

Hey,

I noticed someone was vandalizing the newly created Chapulling page and tried my best reverting the changes that were made. I had done a miss on the page The Million Pound Drop Live. I did a test and now, I can´t do it back to the old version. Can you do this for me. Please help me!

Thank you --Franz Baby 256 (talk) 13:35, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Franz and welcome to Wikipedia!
I would kindly ask that you cease editing the article space (in particular that article) until you communicate with editors on the article's talk page (here) - because I have had to make further reversions of your edits, even though you had been asked not to make those types of edits.
I know that you are new to Wikipedia - trust me, things may be overwhelming now, but you will get the hang of it soon. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 14:59, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Re:Re

Yes sorry, it was a mistake! I'm new to wikipedia and I was wondering if it was possible to update an image, say if an establishment was to change its logo. Apologies! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MattyWinder (talkcontribs) 15:41, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Matty, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Don't worry, mistakes are bound to happen - especially if it's your first time editing - but don't worry, there are editors to help out.
Now, in regards to updating images, you can - however, they must be appropriate for the specific article. For example, this image you placed in that establishment's article was inappropriate and I had to revert it. If you are struggling to update an image (with an appropriate image) "Wikipedia:Uploading images" will be a great start for you, otherwise please don't hesitate to ask for help! —MelbourneStartalk 15:47, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Just a heads up, please see User_talk:Franz_Baby_256#Your use of multiple accounts. I'm about 90% sure these are all the same person. I'm going to vote for a block, The Million Pound Drop Live is already been proposed for semi-protection, and keep an eye on articles about other game shows. Sorry for lack of explanation

When what's being done seems self-evident and done in groups I sorta avoid it, but to clarify about what you reverted: I created Category:Lists of Law & Order characters to organize our various lists. This new category is a subcategory of the categories that I removed from the page: Category:Law & Order characters and Category:Lists of television characters. Based on this would it be possible to revert and restore the change? Ranze (talk) 09:20, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Perfect explanation; I will revert - but you should still consider using an edit summary, as this is a clear example of a good edit, that still required a good explanation - even if it's to let other's know you're doing multiple edits in groups. Happytreefriend1234

Hi, you just posted on my talk page (Happytreefriend1234) and I am quite ticked off. I have freedom of speech. I can put whatever I want on Wikipedia. It's free. Anyone can edit it. WHY CAN'T I??? Oh, by the way, I HATE YOU.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Happytreefriend1234 (talkcontribs)

You do have freedom of speech - however, that does not extend to Wikipedia. "Although we welcome all constructive contributors, editing Wikipedia is a privilege, not a right. There is no legal right to edit Wikipedia." - Wikipedia:Free speech. Please proceed editing Wikipedia with constructive edits, rather than vandalism (like this) — otherwise, you may lose your editing privileges. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 04:13, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi Sgatet, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Unfortunately you've been temporarily blocked from editing articles - and I say 'unfortunately', because at a few stages, you were in the position to help yourself out here. But, never mind - you'll be able to learn your way around here
  • First of all, the content you want added into the article is copyrighted. Wikipedia is not allowed to host copyrighted content like this, especially if it's been simply cut and pasted. My suggestion would be that you re-word it - to avoid a copyright violation - and that you make sure it's written in a neutral point of view.
  • Secondly, on neutral point of view - the content that you want added in, must not read like an advertisement, or be promotional. You seem to have a conflict of interest - so before even editing the article, please make sure you familiarize yourself with this guideline: WP:Conflict of interest.
  • Thirdly, when editing any articles - you must not remove verifiably sourced content from articles, without proper explanation as to why, in the edit summary.
  • Lastly, I can see NeilN has done a wonderful job in showing you in the right direction; so try following what he has told you - in particular using the article's talk page (here). If you need any further help, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 12:32, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
