Ways to improve Shingrai waterfall[edit]

Hi, I'm Boleyn. TylerBlack97, thanks for creating Shingrai waterfall!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This has been tagged for 3 issues. Please be aware that Facebook should not be used as a source on Wikipedia.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello TylerBlack97, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Sind krait have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:25, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ravensfire. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Meera Chopra, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! Disambiguation link notification for December 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Portugal–Spain football rivalry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Penalty (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 18:45, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 17:28, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Fitzcarmalan! I wanna know the reason why this article is a subject for possible deletion as rivalry between both countries is well known. You know things better than me and it will good for me to learn from you, however, I am a bit confused why such a tense rivalry in the CAF confederation is a subject for deletion. Thanks and Regards, TylerBlack97 (talk) 09:16, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am not a sock-puppet of any account, as this is my first ever Wikipedia account. I am sure you might have made a mistake because I have never created a Wiki account before. I guess you got confused as I recently requested for renaming my account which was accepted and I changed it yersterday from TylerBlack97 to current. This is my first ever Wikipedia. Please unblock me and kindly look into this matter. Regards, MetalHead1878 (talk) 07:59, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This has nothing to do with the account rename. You will want to address the information at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Haffy881/Archive to start with. In reviewing this a little further, I can see quite a bit of overlap on obscure articles, adding some of the same content. The list at Punjab, Pakistan, the nickname of Quetta, the sources on Chiltan ibex and Sind krait, for example. Kuru (talk) 12:58, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Few things to share is that I am Pakistani, thus editing and providing information for stub articles of my country, secondly I am using a dial-up connection (in which multiple users have same IP). Why would I be using multiple account when I know its not a good whether it be Wikipedia or any other website. Please trust me I am not a sock-puppet of the account I am being accused of. Wouldn't anyone edit their countries stub at the very beginning? Those articles I edited, I got it by searching Category: Pakistan stubs, they were mentioned there, and I only edited those of which I was able to get the verified and acceptable references. Please look into this matter.

Decline reason:

Declined. I ran a check and on Nov. 17 at 14:21 UTC, you attempted to reset Kleuske's password.

@Berean Hunter: Seriously? Why would I? And something for you all, just go and read something about dial-up connections. It is there on wiki where you will find (IP is shared by many people if they are connected to the Internet via a proxy server (used by most schools and corporations and some Internet service providers) or dial-up access.) It could be someone else.MetalHead1878 (talk) 10:26, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll repeat what I said earlier: You need to convince me (or some other admin) that you understand our copyright policy (hint: read Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources). I was willing to look the other way regarding sockpuppetry, but you just had to repeat the exact same policy violation as your other two accounts. That is, ultimately, why you are blocked. MER-C 15:03, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@MER-C: I know I did a copyright violation on Sind Krait because I wasn't able to switch it between active and passive phrases. So I copy pasted and I apologize to everyone for that. MetalHead1878 (talk) 10:26, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I read the report by Kuru. Out of my 416 contributions, only 30 collides with the previously blocked user. That just 7%. How could I be a sock-puppet? I am a Pakistani. Do you expect me to edit US article? I could do that but I'd see my country first. Those 7% articles include the topics of my countries. I mean okay fine. Have your say I'll listen and accept and go with it .

Last Hope[edit]

@Kuru: I don't intend to be harsh, but I am in no contact or relation with that user. I love football and the rivalries between teams and national countries, as a Pakistani I like to provide as much information about my country as I could because our wildlife and the sanctuaries are neglected by our own government so I wanted to bring them to light. Many people share the same thoughts and that a natural thing. My favorite football team Manchester United have 659 million followers. If two of them from London tries to edit something, will they be considered sock-puppets? Its on you all admins what you think of me. Your final outcome of this would be respected and accepted. But all I wanted was to do editing and then I got in some trouble cause I wanted to create a new article on a deleted subject. I asked MER-C because he was the one who deleted that, if I were to abuse the policies of the Wikipedia, I would've gone on to create it without asking. All I want is to edit about the things I am interested in. Waiting for your reply. Thanks and Regards MetalHead1878 (talk) 14:59, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help![edit]

@Saqib: I am blocked on the ground of sock-puppet based on the IP address. As a Pakistani you might be knowing that our IPs are always clashing. Kindly help me please. MetalHead1878 (talk) 09:38, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Articles[edit]

Hello to everyone here. I just wanted to give an advice that articles created by deleted or blocked users should not be deleted because they're good enough. I'm currently a member of an football coaching institute, football rivalries are most important topic, yet I found many of them deleted because the creator was a proven sock-puppet. Is there anyway I can get access to those articles? Waiting for your reply. WorldWarHeroes45 (talk) 12:41, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Australia–New Zealand soccer rivalry has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
