Replaceable fair use File:Mike Jackson (auto) CHairman and CEO AutoNation.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mike Jackson (auto) CHairman and CEO AutoNation.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 11:17, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Cheryl Miller requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://investors.autonation.com/governance/board-of-directors/person-details/default.aspx?ItemId=d188979e-2c27-45e5-b4f0-515f89041063. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 17:21, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Nativeborn1699. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 17:23, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Need to edit correction as Cheryl Miller is NOT AutoNation CEO as per a recent edit of the article by someone other than myself. I have the most current documented evidence of corporate changes and there is an absolute necessity for accuracy the the following correction be made immediately to the AutoNation Article Correction as Per Documentation... "On July 14, 2020 AutoNation Inc. announced that the Board of Directors reached a new 2 year contract agreement with Mr. Mike Jackson to return as the Chief Executive Officer position vacated by Ms. Miller. [29][30]" Consequently Cheryl Miller" must be removed from "Key Officers" for the article to be accurate. Additionally, all edits have been made by myself when editing pertinent information to update and keep the information of the company current and viable as well as accurate with documentation referenced; with regard to documented changes in the corporate structure. Also please provide evidence of "abuse" for a acceptable for a committee to review; and I will and wish to appeal your decision for the 'block' as it can be seen that no abuse has ever occurred that can be documented or understood by any confluence of facts. I did have a couple old monikers used years ago.Nativeborn1699 (talk) 04:46, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. O Still Small Voice of Clam 07:18, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

[edit]

Hi, you appear to have a conflict of interest related to AutoNation or Mike Jackson (automotive), paid or unpaid, broadly construed (example: "at the request of the company", WP:DUCK) Absolutely do not edit the content of this and related pages from now on. Instead, place suggested edits on the talk page with Template:Request edit. You can read more about this process and rationale at Wikipedia:Edit requests, Wikipedia:Simple conflict of interest edit request, Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance.

Second, and of moderate importance, do not use the 'minor' tag unless it is for entirely uncontroversial copyedits; or as WP:MINOR says, "consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content". tedder (talk) 16:53, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

There seems to be much confusion in that Nativeborn1699 is and was trying to correct clear errors on the page [AutoNation] damaged by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:UnitedStatesian - who seems to have a professional interest upon request.
