help me!!!

hi, im MidKnighttheDarkHunter. i can't seem to get to my page, so i created a new account. has it been hacked or something? listen, toaster, I need you to back me up on this page, and also, how do you adopt me? It's really confusing. thanks!

Hey MidKnighttheDarkHunter. If you want to use your other account, I'm sure we can figure out what's going on. Wikipedia keeps an archive of all changes, so none of your data or edits are really lost. I'm a bit confused about the problem though: what page can you not get to? Your Talk page should be here, and your userpage should be here. About adoption: I'm going to leave a tag on your userpage that says you have been adopted. You can read it at 1. I'll put a similar tag on my userpage in a similar way. You can always remove this tags if you don't want to be adopted anymore, or just don't want it on your user page. Sound good?  :) -FlyingToaster (talk) 17:28, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

thanks for the save!

thanks, but you can call me MKH for short. also, anybody who talks on Toasters page is welcome here!(or anybody who isn't a mingebag, as a matter of fact) =) MidKnightHunter (talk) 21:11, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

chat?

Hey MidKnightHunter. This isn't really a good place to just chat back and forth. I'm happy to answer any questions you have here, but if you're looking for more of a chat-like style about Wikipedia, you may want to try the IRC channel #wikipedia on freenode. -FlyingToaster (talk) 00:44, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 00:47, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

How to Make a New Page

To make a new page, just use the search box at the left to search for the page you want to create. If it doesn't exist already in Wikipedia, you will see a link to "Create the page." If you click that, you'll get a text box to write the article in. Before you get started, it may help to read this page, which describes what kinds of subjects are notable enough to write an article on. Good luck! -FlyingToaster (talk) 17:16, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Please use people's Discussion pages

Hey MidKnightHunter - please make sure that you leave notes for people on their Discussion pages, and not on their user pages. This is a discussion page - you can tell because the Discussion tab at the top is highlighted. Your comment 2, however, was on the User page and should be on the Discussion page. Don't worry, it's an easy mistake to make. :) -FlyingToaster (talk) 17:31, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

How to connect to IRC

See this tutorial if you are not familiar with IRC. If you are, the server is irc.freenode.net and the main room is #wikipedia

Pages

I'm fine helping you out by talk pages, it's a better place for links and things you want to refer back to. -FlyingToaster (talk) 18:03, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

No Prob

I see you correctly fixed the user page/discussion thing - very awesome, looks like you've figured that one out. Also, I'm female. -FlyingToaster (talk) 18:15, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Hey thanks! As for garry's mod, I haven't used it personally, though I have seen it at a friend's house. I don't do much PC gaming because I have a laptop with a crappy integrated graphics card. (didn't realize it had no expansion slots when I got it :( ). still, I do enjoy my PS3 when I find the time to use it (and tbh, LittleBigPlanet looks pretty similar to garry's mod; the only reason I'm considering not getting it is because I really have to stuff other than play video games once in while. ;) and Wikipedia takes up a good portion of that time... ¬_¬). Thanks again. talk to you later. Thingg 18:23, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

lol. no I mean it doesn't have any way for me to upgrade it's graphics card at all. like it doesn't have a port on the motherboard for a dedicated graphics card. btw, do you have gmail? It would probably be smarter to chat in there (I don't have AIM) rather than onwiki. my address is coastermaniac [at] gmail [dot] com if you want to add me. Thingg 18:38, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Hey MidKnightHunter. I haven't played Gmod or TF yet, I don't have a great gaming computer at the moment. I'm a bit busy to talk beyond on IRC right now. Good luck on your first article! -FlyingToaster (talk) 00:40, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: hey

yeah I'm on. what's up? Thingg 00:41, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

lol. sure. do you have access to your email account now? Thingg 00:47, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I see. well, talk to you later. :) Thingg 00:58, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
yeah. well, tbh if you want to just randomly talk to someone, I'm probably not a very good person to ask. I have never used IRC or even an IM service in my life! heh. but yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Thingg 15:01, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

new page

If you mean you want to create a new page, you don't have to request it - you can just create it. Hopefully my comment above explains this, let me know if it doesn't. -FlyingToaster (talk) 00:55, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

VG newsletter

Hi. I noticed you tried adding yourself to the readership list at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Newsletter, but soon after reverted it. If you would like to be on the list, let me know and I can add you to it. If not, thanks for checking out the page. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:20, 13 October 2008 (UTC))

I added you name to newsletter readership. It goes out on the first Wednesday of every month. If you are interested in participating with Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games, I suggest you read over the main page to learn more about the purpose and structure of the project. If you have questions about policies and editing related to video games, feel free to ask at the VG project's talk page.
By "icon", I assume you're talking about the Project Userbox. If so, just add this code on your userpage . If not let me know which icon you're talking about.
One more quick suggestion. When responding on talk pages, make sure your topic title is enclosed with two equal signs on both sides instead of one ( == Headline text == ). This is the standard used when starting new discussions. Wikipedia has also included several assists to do this for you. (Guyinblack25 talk 19:32, 13 October 2008 (UTC))

October 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Jar Jar Binks are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. --EEMIV (talk) 19:49, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

The recent edit you made to User talk:EEMIV constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. — Possum (talk) 20:00, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Uh...no, I wouldn't consider at all the post on my talk page vandalism. --EEMIV (talk) 20:09, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

I suggest, in a friendly way, that you remove that on the basis of our policies regarding being polite and not attacking people. roux ] [x] was prince of canada 20:09, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Hiya. I'm being friendly here, because I don't want to see you getting in trouble. It's true that in general you can put whatever you want in your userspace. But that is still subject to a few policies, especially the policies regarding no personal attacks. So, I'll ask you again, please remove the comment from your page--this is for your benefit, as leaving it up increases the chance that someone else will see it and decide that you need to be reported and/or blocked for it. Okay? roux ] [x] was prince of canada 20:14, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Hey chill man, it was an honest mistake. You can see I've removed your warning, these things happen all the time. Sorry! — Possum (talk) 20:21, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Hi. Possum didn't 'yell' at you. He made a mistake. One of the key things here on Wikipedia when it comes to working with other people is the importance of assuming good faith. That generally means that you give other people the benefit of the doubt--it's more likely that they made a mistake than that they were doing something malicious. I've taken the liberty of removing the comment you made. Possum struck through his warning because it was wrong, but he is leaving it there to show that he knows he was wrong. Leaving an insult/attack readable isn't the same thing. Now get out there into mainspace and make some edits, okay? :) roux ] [x] was prince of canada 20:23, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

yo

Hey MidKnightHunter, you said you had an issue maybe I could help with? -FlyingToaster (talk) 21:16, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

goin off

cousin's mad. apparently I'm,"wasting my money and time" on this computer(I have to pay a sum for the time I'm on, but he has "limits" heh, my ass. see you guys. I might be on later, don't know. MidKnightHunter (talk) 21:42, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Heh.

Hey man, you really shouldn't say stuff like that on my talk page. I mean, I know the guy's being an idiot, but people say stuff like that all the time to me. It doesn't really bother me and we do have civility rules here that we need to abide by even if other don't, While I do really appreciate the defense, you shouldn't be saying stuff like that. Regards. Thingg 22:19, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

No problem

Sounds like you got it solved. I will say that Wikipedia is, in general, a bit hostile towards the lulz if they stray into the "serious" part of the encyclopedia. The people here are primarily here not to make friends or trade jokes, but to improve the encyclopedia. So, while many of us have a slight semblance of a sense of humor, it's restricted to a few outlets, such as user talk pages, and is generally respectful. Making jokes in an article, tags, voting, or any of the "official" channels will generally get people upset. I'd say we are proud to have a slight stick up our ass. For the lulz, you may try 3, 4, or 5. -FlyingToaster (talk) 23:06, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Re:hi

Yes, indeed I am on, as indicated by my online status referred to on the top of all my pages. :) Talking is fun, so I suppose I am in, is there anything in particular you would like to discuss good sir? Scapler (talk) 01:27, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Be careful, or Oscar Wilde may cause your head to catch on fire with his psychic powers:

Congratulations, your head is now on fire, the authorities only find your charred remains. You should not have crossed the superhero known as Oscar Wilde! Scapler (talk) 02:33, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Español

Sí señor, me gusta hablar español. aprendía por tres años. ¿Y tú? Scapler (talk) 02:38, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunadamente, necesito salir. Posible podremos hablar adelante. Scapler (talk) 02:51, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I just love Spanish. But perhaps we can talk later, for I need to go at present. Scapler (talk) 02:54, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

ok

Thanks for the apology, MidKnightHunter, and for removing the offensive material from your user page. I do believe everyone should get second chances, so I'm happy to continue to help you out if I can. I'm also happy to talk with you about politics and how to more effectively establish the reliability of a source, since it seems you've been hearing and believing some utter nonsense. Disseminating facts from fiction is a useful skill and I know it isn't always easy. - FlyingToaster 18:41, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank You

Of course we can still be friends, you made the right decision and took the material off, so it should be completely forgiven, without hanging over your head at all. As someone close to me once said: "you said you were sorry, so it didn't happen", and seeing as she is one of the wisest people I know, I certainly subscribe to her advice. People make mistakes, but you corrected yours, making you a better man than say...oh, 90% of the population. So, keep up the good work and happy editing! Scapler (talk) 02:13, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

heh

lol not really. Most of the comments are just people complaining about me deleting their pages. As for the second part, uhh. no. I mean, I'm not like ugly, but I'm not the guy everyone hits on. I'm just normal pretty much. Thingg 03:38, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Pictures

You should see a link on the left that says "Upload File." This will let you upload pictures. Please keep in mind that if pictures are not used in an article or are not free use, they will be deleted. - FlyingToaster 19:10, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion About Your Cousin

I would suggest doing nothing to your cousin. "Do not repay anyone evil for evil...Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay'" (Romans 12:17-19) Scapler (talk) 01:02, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

USBXs

If you want to say things about yourself on your userpage, a great way to do so is with Userboxes. You can see more userboxes at WP:Userboxes, but here are the ones your were looking for:

This user owns a 60 GB PlayStation 3.

(Use the code )

And I was not sure if you meant New York City or New York State, so I have included both:

Flag of New York

(Use the code User New York)

This user lives in, or hails from,
New York City.

(Use the code User New York City)

As far as so-called "clans" go, remember, Wikipedia is not MySpace, it is not for social networking or making clans, groups, or other social organizations. Wikipedia does have WikiProjects, but these are collections of editors committed to improving specific areas of the encyclopedia. When it comes down to it, activities on Wikipedia should all ultimately go to improving articles and the site.

RE:yo

I've been busy trying to balance life and Wikipedia. Apparently my opinion on copy editing has become higher in demand, and it is difficult finding the time to perform such task and work on everything else.

I see you've joined the VG Project. Be sure to check out the talk page every now and then. I've learned a lot from watching and participating in the discussions there. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:50, 10 November 2008 (UTC))

Ready for what's next?

Hey MidKnightHunter. I see you've been active on Wikipedia and making lots of posts lately - very awesome. I was wondering if you'd be willing to take your edits to the next level and help out with the content on Wikipedia. You could start out by editing a main article on a topic you know about. I know you're a big video game fan - perhaps you could add some information about a video game that you play. I can give you pointers after you begin, so don't be afraid to be bold! - FlyingToaster 06:21, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

leetworld

Leetworld is a machinima-based realityshow using Gmod, Counter-strike Source, and other Valve created games. The show has eight main characters, four terrorists; named Ellis, Montrose, Cortez, and Ahmad. The four CT's, Westheimer, Player, Chet, and Leeroy are also in the storyline.

Re: vandalism

I saw your request on User: Thingg's talk page, and found out that User: 24.161.187.194, put Butt in the article. This person does not have an account, and only an IP Address. That was their only contribution to Wikipedia, and we can assume it was a bored person (most likely an immature one, but i'm trying not to be insultive) did it. They still have a talk page, so you can still discuss it with them, unless you want me to.

A project, if you want one!

Hey MidKnightHunter. There's a lot of articles about video games on Wikipedia that need a cleanup - someone to go through, correct the facts, organize things, add citations, that kind of thing. If you're interested in trying it out, there's a list of some needy video game articles here. Just let me know if you need any help! FlyingToaster 23:27, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
