Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Belen Echandia Logo.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)

A tag has been placed on Belen Echandia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Belen Echandia and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 80.68.88.178 (talk) 08:56, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Peng-Sang Cau, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

A tag has been placed on Peng-Sang Cau requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Deletion of the two pages

[edit]

Lucas — looking over these pages, I'll admit that the deletion of Transformix Engineering was in error; I'm sorry for causing the distress. With Peng-Sang Cau, however, I believe that it was the right choice; not all founders of companies are important, and the article didn't make any statements that would show why she's important for other reasons. Please feel free to continue to persuade me that I'm wrong; I'm open to understanding more. Nyttend (talk) 10:33, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here at Wikipedia, importance and notability are two different things. "Importance" is the standard by which we decide whether or not articles qualify for speedy deletion — articles about people, organisations, or web content that don't specify that their subjects are important can be deleted at any time. "Notability", however, determines whether an article can be kept long term: we consider someone/something notable if it passes our notability standards (go to this page to look specifically at notability criteria for people). Since importance is much more of a subjective matter than notability, it's easier to misjudge. However, I believe that I've done the right thing; not all CEOs are important, and this article didn't show me why she was significantly different from any other CEO. Belen Echandia

[edit]

Hi, replies to your query

  • BE merchandise is found in luxury good shops world-wide and online. — needs proper independent verifiable sources, otherwise just spam
  • Belen Echandia prides itself on quality product and customer service couture — I'm sure it does, but it's just a spammy claim. Although it has a "reference", it's someone sharing your surname quoting the company owner. Needs to go
  • A bit more about the company would help to show that it meets the notability guidelines. Turnover? Number of staff? that sort of thing
  • Just a technical point, "External links" section should follow "References", and should not include the company name. It's assumed to be the company's sites unless otherwise stated, and it looks spammy to keep repeating the name. So Official website, not Belen Echandia Official Website

Deletion of Belen Echandia

[edit]

I deleted Belen Echandia because the article seemed entirely promotional.

In order to qualify for an encyclopedia article, a subject must be "notable". Please read WP:N, Wikipedia's notability guideline. If Belen Echandia satisfies the notability criteria, please write a new article about it based on what has been written about the brand in independent reliable sources. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:47, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Belen Echandia Logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Magog the Ogre (talk) 03:11, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Belen Echandia Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Belen Echandia Logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 03:11, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Transformix

[edit]

Hi there - pls. see my comments on the talk page for Transformix - IMO notability is marginal, but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. Also please note that the article currently refers to a "liguor inventory control device" - looks like a spelling error cropped up! Cheers, PKT(alk) 21:17, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for deletion

Orphaned non-free image File:Transformix Engineering Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Transformix Engineering Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:59, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
