Is this album notable enough for an article

Hi Tokyogirl79, i've recently been listening to a great jazz album called The Ring by Keiko Matsui (bought from a thrift store - love them:)), imagine my surprise that there is no wikiarticle on it! ..... well not really, as Matsui only has one album that is "articlised". As i haven't made a music article before i thought it would be a good idea to check with an experienced editor such as yourself.

Anyhoo, here is what i have found, just wondering if they are ok for notability (including the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart):

allmusic review ok?,
Discogs, ok for song listing only?,
Asianvibrations.com - not ok?,
JazzTimes review - ok?
and appeared on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart for at least 23 weeks :Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums of March 22, 2003.
thanks heaps Coolabahapple (talk) 14:40, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Here's a runthrough:
  • AM should be usable and I've used even their short reviews in a pinch. This is nice and lengthy, so there shouldn't be any worries about it.
  • Discogs is considered to be a database so it can be used for basic primary details but can't show notability - but you're already aware of that :)
  • I'm not certain about Asian Vibrations. I'm leaning towards no, just because there's nothing on there about their editorial process or if they have a staff. It'd probably be considered a WP:SPS for the most part.
  • JazzTimes should be ok - they've got an editorial staff and from what I've seen is a fairly well respected magazine.
  • The Billboard ranking should be good as well and can help give it that extra oomph.
Overall it looks like that should be enough to make it pass NALBUM. :) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:28, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
thanks very much Tokyogirl79, will make the article over the next day or 2:), you do sooo much on wp, so heres a bunny Coolabahapple (talk) 00:03, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

Hearsay Systems (again)

Hi! Several weeks ago I asked you for help with some COI edit requests for Hearsay. You were a little too busy at the time and I'm sure you're still very busy now, but if there's any chance you could take a look, I'd be immensely grateful. I've tried several other venues and at this point the requested edits queue seems to be making no progress. All my requests are outlined and formatted on the article's Talk page. If you have a few minutes, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look! Thank you. Mary Gaulke (talk) 21:27, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi! I've posted at the talk page. I'm not sure that we should really add more clients to the lead paragraph since that may be seen as too promotional, but other things can be added. Mostly it looks like we just need some of the content that needs to be added to the article, as well as sources to back the numbers and additions or changes up. American Board of Dental Specialties

Hello Tokyogirl79, My page American Board of Dental Specialties was deleted by you due to COI, back in January. In asking for help, I'm told you can restore it to draftspace for me to edit and ask for a reviewer to look at it and publish it. Can that be done? Any other suggestions?

Mmdds (talk) 20:46, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

  • I am very uncomfortable restoring it because of what DGG wrote, namely this: "apparently created to continue litigation/arguments in the RW by other means". I have no problem with you starting a new version of the article , but I'm just not really comfortable restoring the old version per that statement. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:40, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Actually, it was jytdog who wrote that in the prod request [1] at 22:55 Dec.30. My previous speedy using the generic G11 reason had been declined as "not overtly an advertisement". Jytdog's tagging is in my opinion perfectly correct & I should have added that wording to by speedy request. -more than half the article is about a court case being conducted by the organization for recognition of its specialty certifications for several specialties not official recognized by the American Dental Association . G11 does apply on that basis. In any case, it is my opinion that the article wouldn't have a chance at AfD. In my opinion, if there is to be an acceptable article on the organization it would need to be rewritten from scratch.. DGG ( talk ) 09:57, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Your opinion requested

Hi TG. It's been a while - hope you're well. I was wondering whether you'd mind offering a second opinion on this book's notability - I'm considering nominating it for AFD, as I'm not sure it meets WP:NBOOK, but would appreciate your thoughts before I do anything, since I've always respected your knowledge in this area. FWIW, this is part of a walled garden of articles created by the author's publicist, so there may be other bluelinked titles at D. Harlan Wilson#Bibliography that need attention as well. I want to inquire about the decline of the SaferPass wikipedia page. You mentioned that the three sources used are not enough and we need more sources. Please can you specify what type of sources are acceptable for this kind of page. Also we have been comparing our proposed SaferPass Wikipedia with other similar pages (meaning Password managers of similar reach) and their wikipedia pages are simple with less information and sources than ours. can you please investigate on that and let me know how can we improve our page.

Thank you for your help

Hello Tokyogirl79.

My article is quite long and it will take me a long time to add all the references and the bibliography. I have included some references in the text already, which need to be entered via the wikipedia system I think. Normally I normally like to save my work after every edit, even a 'comma.' How long can I have to make all the edits and references I need to make? I thought the 'sandbox' was a place to put unfinished work. re: my bias towards CIAO. I want this article to be as accurate as possible and unbiased, so if you can please point out any areas where I and too pro-CIAO I will make changes ASAP to suit the required standards. As you might have learned in the article, incestophobia has became endemic in societies around the world

over hundreds of years, as did homophobia, so the article attempts to address the issue on behalf of CIAO people, just as the issue of homophobia has been dealt with for gay people. But I know I need to tone down my pro-CIAO words to make the article less objectionable an sound more reasonable. I feel it is very sad and very bad that CIAO people are being jailed, even though they didn't hurt anyone. Few people seem to care about this situtation. Luckily in Japan, CIAO love is not illegal.

Responding to your reply re: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Johnny Symons

@Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) How do I revise this page without having it restored? I intend to clear up all WP:COPYVIO from the current draft. Thank you, Dchein. 22:03, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

  • If you like you can start a new draft at AfC - you just can't include the copyvio, is all. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 15:22, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

Charlo Greene AMA

So why does the Rampart movie get a section about their AMA on their Wikipedia, but you keep trying to edit out my mentioning of it on her wiki page?

In order to host an AMA on reddit you have to first verify it with the mods(a subreddit which has 17+ million suscribers).

To have this double standard seems to be trying to help promote her brand and prevent it from negative press from one of the worst AMA's in reddit history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlaskanCannabis (talkcontribs) 18:58, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

  • The issue with the AMA is how you were trying to present the information. You were using controversial comments made by a random individual, none of which could be verified in ways that would meet Wikipedia's guidelines in general, let alone the far more restrictive WP:BLP guidelines. If the claims were things that were far less contentious (ie, with film AMAs those are usually things that are typically not controversial and are things like what type of camera was used, the inspiration for something, or what type of soda someone liked to drink on set), then the AMA might have been OK to include, however the comments were claiming that she was a scam artist. If the AMA had received a lot of coverage it may have been OK to carefully add it into the article, but it didn't so there's no reporting that could really justify inclusion. When it comes to biographies of living people, Wikipedia has to tread extremely lightly because people can and have tried to sue the site for including controversial and contentious claims in an article. (Some have tried to sue for even less.) The article is not meant to promote Greene, but it just cannot include claims of her being a scam artist or of her threatening and stalking people without a heck of a lot of coverage to justify its inclusion. Basically, there needs to be dozens to hundreds of news stories about this in very reputable sources (NYT, Chicago Tribune, etc) or in academic sources (peer reviewed journals or books) to definitively prove that a mention needs to be in the article. Even then, it needs to be written extremely carefully to satisfy BLP guidelines.
I have no agenda here (I neither like nor dislike her) other than to make sure content follows BLP guidelines so Wikipedia doesn't get into any legal trouble. I will be honest and say that I do believe that you are here with the intent to include negative content about Greene, to the point where that's all that you're here to write. I have pointed out the reasons why this can't be included multiple times. It's not a matter of liking her or promotion, it just boils down to policy. As far as Wikipedia is concerned, the AMA is non-notable and has no reason to be included. Please stop adding this information to the article or you run a serious risk of getting blocked from editing. Wikipedia is not a WP:SOAPBOX. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 21:49, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

Except I didn't do any of that. I simply linked to the reddit AMA. I never mentioned anybodies comments. My addition simply stated "In January 2017 she hosted an AMA on reddit. This too resulted in Charlo quitting in the middle of the AMA and replacing all of her posts with profanity and a link to her website(which violated the rules of the Subreddit). I'm not here to present "negative" information, I am here to present the whole story. You trying to censor what actually happened is incredibly dishonest and shows your agenda. Dozens of media outlets in Alaska have reported on Charlo's shenagins, but apparently the people in the state of Alaska cannot be trusted to report on the own issues in their own state and need to be babysat by national media outlets according to you. Also I am new to the site, its a little much to expect me to accomplish much when you keep trying to reverse every single edit I make. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlaskanCannabis (talkcontribs) 03:31, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

  • You were using that AMA and other sourcing earlier with versions like this one. I'm no fan of Charlo Greene (to be honest, I think that the claims of her being a scam artist aren't unfounded and her actions are frankly creepy at times), but the thing here is that we have to be careful about BLP in articles because it poses a legal issue. We can't add controversial items to articles without a lot of sourcing to justify its inclusion because the person in question could argue that we're libeling her and adding content without true justification. Wikipedia is not a WP:TABLOID, so we can only include content if it's really, really well covered enough to show that it's significant and in-depth enough to be mentioned, as not every action is considered to be relevant to Wikipedia. Most of the small things that a person does aren't considered notable until a good amount of time later, when it's mentioned in the more reliable sources like newspaper articles or academic works giving an overview of the person's life and actions. This means that even small things like her freaking out at an AMA needs to have a lot of coverage to justify being included. The thing to remember is that Wikipedia is not a place to WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS. You don't like Greene. I get that. Heck, I can understand why, even though I don't feel particularly any way towards her. However the sourcing you've given are sparse at best and cover some pretty controversial things. What you're trying to do here isn't really what Wikipedia is meant to do. I've removed the content again. Before adding this you really, really should participate in the ANI thread I've opened. I don't know that you're really here to edit within policy, to be frank. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 16:17, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Janice & Brianne Image deletion problem

Tokyogirl79, I need your help to back me up on this 2 situations that I've gotten myself into, & it's this. Janice & Brianne's Photos are going to be deleted from the article, so please give them your statement on keeping these images on the Wikipedia common, here are the links to the reportable debates:

Hope that you can back up on this, cause your voice matters. :( Norozco1 (talk) 20:46, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi Norozco1! To keep these images you need to get the copyright holders (most likely the people who took the image) to file a ticket giving Wikipedia permission to use the images. This can sometimes be a little difficult to do when the original image contains copyrighted characters, as in the case of Brianne's image, which has a screenshot of a Blue Exorcist episode. Your best bet here would be to post that you're OK with the images getting deleted for the time being and that you would like them to be restored once the copyright holders file a ticket through OTRS. I'll warn you, this part could take a while since in one instance you'll definitely be dealing with a corporation, as you'd have to approach the Blue Exorcist facebook page, which is run by the company that holds the rights and is distributing the anime. You also may not get an instant reply from the stars themselves or they may want to give a different image. It's honestly kind of a frustrating process since you'll likely have to do everything but actually send the e-mail for the person, since the legalese for all of this can be pretty complicated. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:09, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
  • Oh, I see Tokyogirl79, but how am I suppose to do all of that be fore these images get deleted from the site, ya know. :(
  • Unfortunately it's something that will take a while to do and won't be done before the deletions get completed. I wish it could be done more quickly, but this relies heavily on the company or person responding. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 20:55, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
  • Ok, then I guess all I have to do is just wait. :( Norozco1 (talk) 03:25, 12 September 2017 (UTC)

Have a great day!

Many many congratulations T. Eleven years eh - where does the time go? It is an interesting coincidence that you ahd Acalamari began editing on the same day. Thanks so much for all your work here over the years. MarnetteD|Talk 04:15, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

The Movement Theatre Company

Hello Tokyogirl79,

I'm inquiring about the deletion of my page The Movement Theatre Company. It has been marked as advertisement material, this very much so confuses me. I'm new to this wikipedia page creation, and would love to know how to improve this article.

This is a difficult topic to write about considering the this theatre company has minimal representation. The reason this page was created was to help diversify wikipedia as a website, unfortunately recognizing these biases in all media leads our team to not be able to find diverse sources. If you could help us by explaining how this article has bias that would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi Kgazoo, the page was moved to back to your sandbox. I left a message on your talk page under my Wiki Ed account that went into the reasons why. Ultimately there were certain phrases that just didn't really read in a neutral fashion and the article lacked enough sourcing to show where the company is notable. There's more detail on your talk page. :) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 15:14, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

Removal of page protect

Hi, can you please look into removing the page protect on The Big Lez Show. There is a draft Draft:The Big Lez Show that is well written with quality sourcing to establish notability that is ready to move in. Please ping me when you've looked into it. Thanks. Deletion

Hi, Could you explain more detail about why you delete my article? Also this article is just for class. HappyweekdaysHappyweekdays (talk) 19:14, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Please consider running for ArbCom

You are an excellent, fair, well-spoken admin, who makes judgments carefully and with very clear insight and wiki-knowledge. The community needs more, and experienced, and neutral, candidates to choose from. Please consider running! Softlavender (talk) 08:56, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Deletion and Academic Dishonesty

Hi! Thanks so much for removing the edit on the Undocumented Students in the United States page for academic dishonesty. I really appreciate your diligence in watching pages for plagiarism. However, I am an instructor using Wikipedia in the classroom and I need to be able to see this edit in order to review and potentially report this incident to my university. It does not need to go back on the page, but if you can post the deleted content on my talk page I would appreciate it. Thanks so much! ANI Experiences survey

Beginning on November 28, 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) will be conducting a survey to en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Thank you - LCS

Just wanted to say thanks for adding to the Language Creation Society and for the alternate plan should the final decision in the AfD be for delete. CESchreyer (talk) 05:57, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

  • No problem. Since I'm tied to Wiki Education and there's quite a kerfuffle in the AfD over COI I don't want to argue for or against deletion, but I do honestly think that at the very least this should be present somewhere, even if it's in the article for Peterson. Pamela Cox listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Pamela Cox. Since you had some involvement with the Pamela Cox redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Sro23 (talk) 23:44, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Calysta Bevier

hey Tokyogirl79 can u unprotect my article "Calysta Bevier"...Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muhammadimamazam (talkcontribs) 11:08, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

  • Muhammadimamazam, it looks like an article for her was deleted at AfD in August. In order to really justify how she's notable enough for an article you would have to provide enough sourcing to satisfy the concerns at the deletion discussion and even then, it's really Jo-Jo Eumerus you need to be talking to since they closed the AfD. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:26, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Confusing

Hallo Tokyogirl, in this edit when you said "I also wanted to caution you about editing Tappen's article via my main account." it took me quite a while to figure out or remember that you are also Shalor! For a less experienced editor it might be even more confusing. Could you perhaps clarify on the page there? I thought at first that it was a typo for something like "I also wanted to caution you about editing Tappen's article via your main account." Thanks. PamD 16:00, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
