Hello, Rfaith09, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Beartooth (band), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Tea House, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Beartooth (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 02:20, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Catoosa Activity Center.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Catoosa Activity Center.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 21:27, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Don Smolenski requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/staff/don-smolenski/16990165-b3ab-4689-99e0-2028cbf10a20. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Copyright block[edit]

I have indefinitely blocked your account pending some indication that you understand and will comply with our copyright policies. You have been notified of these policies in the past and cautioned that a block would follow if you persisted. However, on June 5th you copied the text of this source into the new article you created on Straight, Oklahoma, and on June 27th you copy-pasted wide swathes of content from [1] into Daniel Smith (wide receiver). For a couple of examples:

Source text Article text

Smith was First-team pick as receiver on 2009 Associated Press Indiana Class 4A all-state squad[2] and named to Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50 All-State team for 2009 as one of four receivers. He was a four-year starter as wide receiver for Clay High School in [South Bend, Indiana]].

As a freshman in 2010, Smith saw action the final seven games where he played against Western Michigan, Navy, Tulsa, Utah, Army, USC and Miami (Fla.) in Hyundai Sun Bowl.[3] He registered one assisted tackle against Navy and recorded a critical fumble recovery that helped set up a touchdown just after halftime in the victory over No. 15 Utah.[4] He totaled 117 snaps on special teams

I've added bolding to the article text to highlight the issue - what we see is the content from the source copied in wide swathes with connector words added. While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation – including both structure and language – are. As a website that is widely read and reused, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously to protect the interests of the holders of copyright as well as those of the Wikimedia Foundation and our reusers. Wikipedia's copyright policies require that the content we take from non-free sources, aside from brief and clearly marked quotations, be rewritten from scratch. The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism".

As this has evidently been a pattern for you, I am opening a community copyright investigation to facilitate cleanup of articles where problems may still exist. If you have interest in contributing further to Wikipedia, please review Wikipedia:Copy-paste and indicate your understanding of our policies and confirm that you are willing to comply, using the following template, curly brackets and all:

Request reason:

I have read the Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks and about Sock puppetry about the other account raith09, i know now what i did was wrong now and won't happen again. I just figured out the password for my old account so i can request the unblocking. Also per blohcierekim this account was blocked years ago because of an added a picture that was uploaded by to an article, i know now that is wrong. Decline reason:

This account was blocked because of your rampant copyright violations, which you haven't addressed at all. Nor have you addressed lying about your sockpuppetry just a few months ago over at User talk:Raith09. You'll have to work a lot harder to earn back the trust you violated here. Explain copyright and fair use in your own words, convince us you'll never again violate copyright, explain your attempt to mislead us, convincingly (so, "i thought that was deleted and this is the only account i have" isn't going to cut it), convince us you won't violate WP:SOCK again. Maybe then we'll consider unblocking you. Yamla (talk) 21:49, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Request reason:

I have learn a lot about copyright violations since being blocked in 2015. I guarantee that i will not use any picture that are not my own since that was the issue 4 years ago. I apologize about they lying having more than one account. I have submitted for a deletion of raith09 where this is the only account i have. At the time, i truly thought I only had one account and that this account had been deleted but currently reading the deletion of a profile i found out they don't usually get deletion because all the changed people have made get deleted also. I now know copyright other peoples material without their consent or without referencing this a serious issues. When i was on my other account i didn't have any issues with copyright as i have learn through the years how it is wrong. The sock puppetry on my part was wrong and won't happen again. I'm taking the advice and trying to do everything right so i can be back part of Wikipedia. I promise to follow all the rules and any suggests to ensure nothing like this happens again. I plan to use my own words or to references any information that was received from another source. Reading the reason i was original blocked. I now know structure and language is copyright, i know better than to just edit a few words with the facts. I have read the copyright policies and Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing on how to rewrite articles. Rfaith09 (talk) 22:07, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

PhilKnight Copyright is when you use something that is legally someone else's without their permission such as using an article word for word or just changing a few words in it. Where the written article is not original and is copied from another person. It is also using a picture that is someone else without their permission. Which I have learn that even paraphrasing other people work is also considered a violate of copyright. Fair use is when you can use someones article but you have reference it and has to be brief to support you own writings. You can't just use someone writings as your own writing as that is copyright but using a small part of someones writing to support your on writing is a form of fair use. Rfaith09 (talk) 18:57, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
