This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ditto (website), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.crunchbase.com/company/ditto-com.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 17:33, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ditto (website), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Advertising on Wikipedia

[edit]

Please do not continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia. I have again deleted your article on Ditto as it was blatantly promotional in nature which is against Wikipedia policy. Are you at all affiliated with the company?--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:16, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen your message on my talk page. As advised above the article you created was blatantly promotional in nature. Could you please answer my question regarding how you are affiliated with Ditto eyewear? You can reply here, I'm watching the page and will see when you answer. Thank you, --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:23, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(page stalker) You may find a lot of help about the requirements for new articles by reading this cogent summary. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:27, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Although I understand that you cannot see the deleted content, the issue was not so much the sourcing, it was the text itself. This is why I'm trying to determine if there is a true conflict of interest or if its simply a matter where using the article creation process would be preferable. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:32, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rysilla (talk) 18:30, 20 December 2012 (UTC)rysilla thanks for the requirements. pony, i have friends at the company and only wanted to create a page about them on wikipedia. can i try again?[reply]

if your reason for creating the page is "because i have friends there", then - no you should not try again. If the reason that you want to create a page is because there has been significant coverage in reliable third party sources about the company that I can present from a neutral point of view, then yes, you may try again. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:34, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rysilla (talk) 18:38, 20 December 2012 (UTC)rysilla hi pony, yes i have many reliable third party sources, i will add first before crafting the summary[reply]

I strongly suggest that you do not re-create the article as you have a conflict of interest in doing so and therefore are unlikely to view the company in a completely neutral fashion. If however you choose to do so, please ensure you use the articles wizard. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:44, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rysilla. I've just declined August Capital because it currently has inadequate verification of significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. It would help if you could find reports about it in major business newspapers. --Northernhenge (talk) 19:04, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/August Capital requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.augustcap.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:DITTO company logo.jpeg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:DITTO company logo.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:16, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
