If There's a Rocket Tie Me to It

I have redirected the article to A Hundred Million Suns. The single does not deserve a separate article yet with its release more than a month away and there is no information indicating that the single is notable on its own at the moment. When the single is released and is charted or more information is available regarding its production, the article can be recreated. LeaveSleaves 14:39, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Your note

Ha! It was only a matter of time before an Indian called me on that. I should really change that to say "many". I hope you have seen some of the many pages I'm talking about. It could be a full-time job for someone to bring them up to a respectable level. I keep hoping some Indian or Indian-American will make it his mission. OK.. well.. I'll go read your user page now. :) LilHelpa (talk) 17:37, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm willing to make allowance for English being a second language, but surely these authors can proofread, correct punctuation and capitalization? Why Would Anyone Type Sentences Like This.Don't you have paragraphs in your language?I've really tried to Understand, sometimes it Seems to border on Vandalism. LilHelpa (talk) 17:46, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Heh... you're certainly right. Appropriately, my very next edit was correcting a quite similiar American high school student's capitalization and spelling. We really are all so very similar. LilHelpa (talk) 17:50, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

No Line on the Horizon

Hey there, I wanted to thank you for all the hard work you've put into the charting of the non-singles on No Line on the Horizon. It's really added something to the article that would have probably been overlooked otherwise, and it helpsto improve the quality of it as well. Thanks again! MelicansMatkin (talk) 20:33, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

I certainly hope so; I think it would have been a much better choice for a first single, but I have the feeling the band were trying to use something a bit more unusual to get everybody talking. It will be interesting to see how everything goes though! MelicansMatkin (talk) 22:41, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah, that's never been in doubt =P. But then, they've never really gone with a "normal" first single. Beautiful Day is the only one I can think of. I know a lot of people were likening it to "The Fly", which makes a lot of sense. I almost think that No line on the Horizon is Achtung Baby mark 2. An unusual first single, a fantastic album where the single makes a lot more sense, a quick follow-up album only a short time after, and a tour that defies any sense of normalcy. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next I can tell you. MelicansMatkin (talk) 22:55, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, Zooropa is in my top three albums as well. I think it generally has weaker songs than the rest of their catalogue, but all the tracks seem to gel perfectly with each other. There aren't any chart-toppers in there, but my favourite U2 songs are usually the ones that the general populace have never heard of. MelicansMatkin (talk) 00:40, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't forget "So Cruel" and "Scarlet"! MelicansMatkin (talk) 00:56, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
I do like Pop, but it's not quite in my top 4. I'd say that my top three are Achtung Baby, No Line on the Horizon, and Zooropa. Believe it or not, but Original Soundtracks 1 is probably just behind them. There are some absolutely terrible tracks on that thing, but I think there are one or two real exquisite gems as well. I think "Slug" is the single most beautiful song they've ever done. MelicansMatkin (talk) 01:14, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Nominating article as GA

For a wealth of information on nominating for good articles, refer to Wikipedia:Guide for nominating good articles. You wondered whether you can nominate your own article. Traditionally, that's the way it works - you nominate an article you've created or edited significantly and then others will judge whether your work can be classified at a higher level. You can nominate other articles, but it's likely that their editors would first like to reach a certain level of quality before nominating. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 15:44, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Eyes Open Tour

Yes, sure, Suede ... I can help ... I have checked it and you have really done a wonderful work. Well, to be honest. It is a lot of stuff there but I see no needs to remove anything. It is maybe the one and only existing all-embracing source of their tours in the internet (really well done, Suede! It's impressive). I know what you mean about a potencially blown-off article, but there is not much to remove or what I see as doesn't matter, 'cos it's simply great and for fans or users a help, when they search in example on Youtube for videos and have then automatically the places, cities and dates of that what they looking for. I mean, it's the logical. The band toured extremely much, so it is logic that tour-article is according to their 'hyperactivity' unusually long. But you reduced it to the facts which are important. I noticed a lot of cancelled gigs in the US. Well the cancelled one lines in the tables are the only things maybe which could been reduced to the "in fact" happened gigs. I mean: yes, the gigs were cancelled. True. But no reader had here a "bigger advantage" for having now that special knowledge about a date which happened never. Those lines are maybe the only ones of which I think, they're like "empty bytes" without having a pragmatic result. In example the planned gigs in Japan were all delayed to other dates, but happened. So the helpfully info would be to read then, "that something happened on this or that date", rather not what "not happened", you know what I mean? But that's just my personally opinion. I'm not sure if its necessary or not. But on the other hand, Suede, all is really fantastic listed and made! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs) 12:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

You questioned mine about the venue of the secret gig April 26th 06. It was London's Royal Opera House. I've added that venue into the table. Here's the source: bootleg.org.uk Bootleg.org.uk. Have a good week and best wishes, Suede :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs) 22:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi Suede, hmmm... well, I'm still impressed about what you built up here on wiki as all including facts source of SP. Especially great is in example the video-list you have created. What concerns cancelled gigs, no I remove there nothing. You are maybe right, that it is a part of all and should stand there. Nothing happens if it's to read or not. So, you have had so much work with all, my typing fingers would feel in regrets to remove there anything :). Something else: about what I felt annoyed personally the last weeks, were entries I made on German Wikipedia. There is existing a relatively long Snow Patrol article and a long (according to the English Wiki-article) Gary Lightbody article I wrote. But as I wanted add Nathan by an article (and planned to do it for the other guys, too) the Nathan-article was deleted with the censoric hint "it would be enough to had a Snow Patrol site, no needs for creating member-articles). Absolutely strange and very annoying. On German wiki you can't nothing publish as Wiki-user unless not an admin has "accepted" it. Just for Gary it was allowed to create an own one about his many side-projects and work as songwriter/supporter for other else musicians. So, I prefer to write on International Wiki here. Can you do me a favour by the way and to check spelling of the Oh Yeah Belfast site? I created that site once and I'm still not sure if I used the right expressions/spelling there. That would be very friendly of you. Thanks and greets to you ... --/~~ whoever99 13:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs)
Thank you much Suede for your work to check the OYB-Site. I will do today the changes about the article you gave more fitting expressions for. Many thanks!! And yes, it seems so as we both here the only ones from the board. But how I said, you made all that to an organized source of really good band-informations! Keep the energy for that fantastic work! Best wishes, Suede and thanks, too for your friendly helps and answers! --/~~ whoever99 06:11, 19 May 2009 (UTC) :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs)

"Shut your eyes" has rifts very similar to Jimi Hendrix's "Third Stone from the Sun". In fact, when I first heard "Shut your eyes", I thought I was listening to "Third Stone from the Sun" (as I was only listening to the instrumental). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.128.185.173 (talk) 19:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Answers & Pics

---Nevermind! I have holidays for about half a month now, and what better way to spend time on the internet?! Good day! Suede67 (talk) 06:13, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Enjoy your holiday, Suede :)

---Need some help here. The music vid section. I'm horrible with words, you're a writer, you can write a nice summary of the theme of the video! Suede67 (talk) 06:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

No, you're not horrible with words. But thank you very much for asking me ... I will check it, but please don't forget: me is the personificated imperfectness on dancing with the Native English tongue. German no problem. There I had been able for constructing a whole one novel about ;). But I will check it a bit later. Currently I fight with hardware at home and struggle with my computers.

---One more request please! Could you please check my sandbox just once more to see if i have committed any spelling miskates? I checked thoroughly, but you never know. And any sort of suggestions really welcome. I want this one to be perfect before I post it out. Thanks, good day E Suede67 (talk) 12:08, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I never had thought you are not a native English one, too? From where you come? Your descriptions here seemed so perfect. I'm surprised, but I will check, it too. Today in the night hours, when I celebrate my insomnia. And first your suggestions around the OY Belfast.

---Sorry for bothering again, but is there any reason why isnt the pic showing here? Thanks in advanceSuede67 (talk) 13:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

You mean the licence-tag thing Wiki wrote above to you? The picture posting here is generally problem filled. You have to upload it again and to set the tags on the so called Gnu-licence (you can choice it by the drop down menue whilst you upload that image). Set the options to Gnu and it will work. Same problem I had with uploading the picture of a band I work together with and with upload an own made pic from Bangor. But after setting all on Gnu-licence it worked. Best wishes, Suede ... we'll read us. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs) 15:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry Suede, I did ~~nothing~~ on Wiki yesterday more. But I've read after your request how I can nominate your article and found it complicate ... when you can describe that in easy steps I will do and "recommend" for a nomination. My brain seems to striking currently ;) Best wishes, E. --/~~ whoever99 15:08, 22 May 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs)

Dates

Hi, I noticed that you linked a date or two when you created Taking Back the Cities Tour. This practice is now deprecated. Please see WP:LINKING and WP:MOSNUM. I'm happy to respond to any inquiries you may have about the matter. Ohconfucius (talk) 09:18, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I've redirected this to Snow Patrol discography as another article for the songs is unneeded and discouraged per WP:NOT#STATS and WP:CFORK. I hope you understand and you'll try to edit the discog (maybe even get it to FL!) Thanks, weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 08:53, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Honestly, we don't need it, I'm afraid... we can access the B-sides and remixes from the singles' articles. Sorry. I can post the article in your userspace if you'd like to keep it though... weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:17, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, didn't see the second part of your message - I did the same with the Chilis one as well, obviously. On a tangent, I've been trying to get Snow Patrol's discography to FL for a while now and I wouldn't mind help :) weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:21, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
That's good, nice to see a fellow Snow Patrol fan here :) A discog usually has Studio Albums, Compilations, EPs, DVDs, Tributes, Singles and Videos, no more - so no B-sides or remixes I'm afraid (there are usually way too many). I'm happy to collab with you though :) weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:28, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
No :) The criteria for discog articles to be featured has changed a lot since that was promoted - B-sides are usually discouraged now I reckon. Sorry. weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:35, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
The lead will need a massive rewrite, yes. Have a look at other discog FLs for inspiration. As a side, that list is probably not going to satisfy 3b (see WP:WIAFL for info on this "code"). weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:46, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
There isn't a word limit, no. Generally "List of awards and nominations" articles are merged into a section on the band's page by default unless there are a LOT of awards (like U2 or Coldplay). weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:52, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
There might just be enough there to satisfy that criterion now. I'd just wait and see what happens :) weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 10:58, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
I'll get to it if I can :)
  • As long as you point out that McClelland was in 'Patrol you should be okay there.
  • That is perfectly okay, the music video itself is the source there.
  • I'll try if I can :) weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 11:10, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Will try :) Will do! weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 11:14, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

The Derek Trucks Band/Derek Trucks

Hi, yes, these are the problems I see:

  1. Derek Trucks needs expansion with references, and one live album needs a page (you can see the name in the text), plus a couple collaborative albums listed but lets forget the other albums for now.
  2. Compare the page to The Derek Trucks Band. I am having trouble finding enough references on each member other than Derek. Can you keep an eye out for any?
  3. Most of the text from The Derek Trucks Band came from Derek's page and I'm worried that it's duplicative. Needs checking.
  4. I don't use a sandbox to work on pages. Sounds crazy, but when I started editing about three years ago (?) I barely knew how to type but DID know copyediting. And, though all the photos for both of the pages mentioned came from me, as well as Derek's wife, Susan Tedeschi, and I created the top half of Ron Holloway's page who is in Tedeschi's band (but he stubbornly ignores me now, editing his own page without understanding inline referencing and I refuse to pamper him when he won't respond to me anymore), I need some vision from others on the layout of both pages, as they even need sections moved. Since his big tour with Eric Clapton in 2006-2007 fewer editors have bothered with his page or any of The Allman Brothers Band's page, which is a shame.
  5. If you could now and then look around for text and [[[reference]]s for Derek and his band, and help with that part (if you find the time) I'd sure appreciate it. They are both just at Start phase. Thanks! --leahtwosaints (talk) 10:10, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

My thoughts on your projects

Hey- I took a look at the Little Doses article. Here are some thoughts. It looks nice, first.

  1. About a band photo, you will have to contact the site itself to receive permission to use any photo. We can't just say we have permission. They must give up their copyright to a picture- there's a lot of discussion about that on my talk page as I learned about pics. (I've uploaded and placed over 500 badly needed photos in just the last few months)- more about that later- I can give you some tips on photos if you wish.
  2. DO contact the musicians. You need more sources. They would know about possible interviews they might have done -past & present (a lot of bandmates have "proud parents" that save newspaper clippings, etc.!) Often, they feel honored to be asked if you tell them it's for their page in the Wikipedia, and also applies to photographers on Flickr if you email them for permission to use their photos.
  3. When you list albums or songs, never bold them. All songs just have quotes around them, like, "Purple Haze". If the song has a page, brackets go inside the quotation marks, like "Purple Haze". All albums, whether LP vinyl records, or CDs, are referred to as albums, although you can make the distinction on the album pages. All albums have two quote marks around them as with Superfly. If the album has a page, you place brackets around the name, Superfly.
  4. I noticed when you refer to other groups, sometimes you'll put quotes around the name of the band. That shouldn't be done. Like, you don't say, Mick Taylor used to play with "The Rolling Stones". Leave off the quote part.
  5. The section on Reviews should be in normal flowing text. You'll need to work reviews into the discussion with inline referencing. Don't list them. If they can't be used in the article, some reviews can be saved for album pages.
  6. There may be enough references to begin a stub for Michael Branagh if you are serious about covering all things related to Snow Patrol you can at least begin a stub.

Hey, I'd never have guessed you'd been editing a short time. You've done a GREAT job!! I hope my comments don't sound harsh. It's sometimes easy to have a proprietary attitude towards articles we start ourselves, but as is, you can place Little Doses on the Wikipedia- you can get help from others, (it's gonna happen anyway), and so long as nobody takes offense, often the collaborations create a piece you'd never have guessed could look so good. When the piece gets to GA or FA level, your username will be listed on the talk page for people who have questions! That's kind of cool! Trust me, I wouldn't have asked for your opinions and help on my pet projects if I hadn't thought you were at the least on the same level!--leahtwosaints (talk) 02:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I Didn't forget you

Hey- didn't forget you. If you want me to make some comments on the tour article that you are working on, give me a link to it- there are some problems with it- more than those little editing comments of Little Doses. Congrats for getting that one on WP as well! I just got a batch of new photos for pages lacking them and infoboxes, so that tied me up, in addition to some of my pet project articles. I think I need to update my userpage so I can focus on the most important, since often I get sidetracked. For example, whenever I do add a photo to an otherwise empty userbox, and find that there[s next to nothing in the infobox, and the page not only doesn't have references-- it doesn't even have a reference section! Not to mention a discography. So I apologize for being busy with those (and other legal issues in my real life that took up most of today). PS-- my name is Leah, what's yours?--leahtwosaints (talk) 21:30, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Some minor edits

Hey- first time I've edited someone's sandbox! I only got halfway, because you obviously know what you are doing. Do you have any references at all for Kirsten? It is a pity that more than one article will mention her as a primary musician without a page for her. Other than the usual, I think you're doing a great job. Can you find a photo for this band? --leahtwosaints (talk) 08:20, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Latvian charts

Please do not add the Latvian charts, or any other charts listed at WP:BADCHARTS, to any Wikipedia articles. Thank you.—Kww(talk) 22:33, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Derek Trucks albums

Here-- click to the article: Derek Trucks or, here's the URL:

  • Derek Trucks It appears that the actual albums he's made with his band The Derek Trucks Band are done, although, they are stubs, I think. You might want to see if they need some cleanup.. I haven't given them much attention. Also, I guess I'd check here *[2] and maybe elsewhere on the web, for information. Usually there's a site called Discogs (or something like that) that dredges up info. Mind you, don't do this if you have other projects that you find more interesting. Seriously, just the offer is flattering. One album though that stands out needing to be made is in the center of the text for his page, Live at the Beacon Theatre DVD, it's an eyesore because it affects both Derek, who is one of two guitarists in The Allman Brothers Band, and all other members of the ABB as a whole. Must be rough being in two bands! Other than that, if you see in the bottom of his album/Discography section, on his page there are a couple of albums where he played as a guest, that will need doing as well by somebody. Don't sweat it, though. I really feel awful asking anyone to do anything. I only gave you the You Tube clip to see if you knew what he sounded like! Just for YOU to see. You don't know how to make audio clips, on Wikipedia, though, do you? Just wondering. Anyway, thanks. The albums that involve "Derek"'s albums should also be listed on the Derek Trucks Band page too, somehow. Thanks again. I've been really sick the past two days.--leahtwosaints (talk) 14:11, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Trading favors?

Uh, I don't even know your name- mine's Leah.. you'll be gone half a month? !! Is there something you'd like me to do for your projects in reciprocation for your efforts on mine? Someone who needs photos, maybe? Or any copyediting? Otherwise, I'm revamping my list of "Top 10 projects" here. Other than fixing glaring errors when I add photos to some pages.. the ones at the top will still be Cat Stevens, Derek Trucks, The Derek Trucks Band, Jaco Pastorious, and maybe to begin stubs for members of Derek Trucks' band. Thanks for doing stuff on the albums! I forgot to tell you, when attempting any more, many of the song pages and album pages from Pink Floyd, are even FA-ranked! In fact, a lot can be learned from noting the Pink Floyd article as a model in FA quality to consider when doing those things.

If you can do sound clips, maybe when you return, if you are willing, I'd give my eye teeth to have clips for Cat Stevens- the songs being his first hit, 'The First Cut is the Deepest", (it's also the most covered), and then, "Wild World", "Father and Son" (also hugely covered), and "Peace Train". It would be the HUGEST favor EVER, help from you would get me and Tvoz (the other editor on Cat Stevens) to really get our butts in gear and put it from GA to maybe FA status, so please think on those too!!! Or, could you at least teach me? Whatever! I hope you see this before leaving. I thank you from my heart for your help! --leahtwosaints (talk) 22:15, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Wonderful. Now if I don't screw these up!! AAAAAAAAAAH. I'm scared of computers! (Really!)

Also, I just got done "begging" for photos of McClelland and Connolly, and am about to ask for one more. Simpson! Then we'll see if there are any "takers". Meanwhile, I'm just paranoid I'll mess this up, but I'll try. Whoo boy. --leahtwosaints (talk) 01:39, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm way too sick

Hey, I'm extremely ill. My ride to take me to the hospital broke down. So I wait until the handicapped van gets here tomorrow, and mostly, I'll have to stay in bed till I leave and am admitted there, probably for a week if past experience is any indicator so, can you try to do it? Please; it would mean a lot with our time constraints!

Congratulations!

Glad to see your first FA article went through!! YES!

The Original Barnstar
For your first FA -ranked article and the kindness to assist other editors in their times of need. A special thanks for your evaluation of some pet projects! leahtwosaints --leahtwosaints (talk) 06:44, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Clips and other things

Hey, I will be going to the hospital in two hours. Nope, I've never had a barnstar, unless they make ones for the most stubborn working Wikipedians (hah!!) However, if you are up to it, can you edit the Cat Stevens song page clips so that the wording around them looks the same way as those you put into the text? That way, I can simply copy and paste them into the text unless you want to do that? Otherwise, I think you have been a blessing! Did you hear his song, "Indian Ocean"? It's about the Tsunami while on vacation in the Indian Ocean, and quite powerful. It still needs a song page though. He kind of threw the song out to the public, it seems, just as he was returning to instruments. You know, the more I think of it, once we tend to sound and the last album and song pages, the article should be ready for FA checking.--leahtwosaints (talk) 14:39, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you Suede for the Motivation Award

Dear Suede, thank you. That's sweet of you! You make me smile here :) Well, my wiki-abstinence has to do, that I write and program currently for a band their new magazine and that's fuckintastic much of work. But to your given award ... that's lovely. But you would own the Band-Supporting Award 2009. I'd wish SP would see that they have their energized working "dwarfs" behind their stage curtains. You do really a fantastic work. Keep your knowledge. I guess, you are the SP-Yoda ;) Best wishes and hugs Elke x --/~~ whoever99 17:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Newly out of the hospital

Hey! I'm home, but still really sick. I wonder if you are still in town (wherever that is! hahaa!) If so, what I was trying to say to you was that, those clips you placed on the song pages, can you place them in the main text where they first come up with the words and everything? I really don't know how to do it, but it would be great to have Cat Stevens' version of "The First Cut is the Deepest" up before his bout with Tuberculosis, and then, "Wild World" in the section where he is well and finding commercial success, but if I just copy them the way they are on the song pages you worked with, they'll just look bald or something. They won't show his songwriting ability. I thought of more songs that would be perfect if you are up to it when you return. Let me know what you think. Maybe you'll find an internet cafe or something! --leahtwosaints (talk) 04:45, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

If you get bored... hello!

Hello my brother, I found some decent sources through the New York Times, for Derek Trucks. If you ever want a Snow Patrol break, I placed them above the external links section- one in particular is for his Songlines album page. Nice. Re: Snow Patrol, it was great finding that photo! I've located two others of other members, who, by chance, belong to someone with an apparent Indian name, (Akashgoyal)? although he hasn't answered yet. I don't know what's easier for you. You are much more focused on your work- while I bounce from one page to another; although you know my two favorite projects. If you ever want to make a couple more sound clips for Derek Trucks or the new Yusuf Islam/Yusuf, please do contact me. There are a few that show his re-emergence to the world of music from the anti-instrument fundamentalist Muslim faith that I've also struggled with, that are really important for his biography. --leahtwosaints (talk) 12:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Clips Derek Trucks

Here's a favorite of mine: *[3] "Wish I Knew (How It Would Feel To Be Free)" Love it. Also from Songlines. More later- blessings! --leahtwosaints (talk) 16:17, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Plus Cat Stevens and Derek Trucks clips

OK, if you could do the particular clip above, and don't feel the songpage is ready for it, would you please do it like it goes in the text anyway, and just leave it on my talk page? You can do that, you know. Please? And from Derek Trucks most recent album, here is:

And this is Derek with Clapton at the Crossroads Guitar Festival mentioned in the text of the page, you should like it.

Just for fun, here's "Anyday", with Derek's band, performing Clapton's song with Derek's wife, Susan Tedeschi, and Eric Clapton singing along from the same "Crossroads" performance. Don't know if we could use it, although probably it would work in the "Soul Stew Revival" section near the bottom of Derek Trucks' page.. it's well done and also rocks!

Would you?

Here are a lot. Yusuf Islam (he used the full name upon his return to music, until about 2007-8, and then just Yusuf: Yusuf Islam- when he became Muslim, he quit using all instruments by the way, except voice and drums, which all us fundamentalist Muslims believed was allowed- though nobody can find any mention of instruments in the Quran, which saved me!

  • "A is for Allah" In the "Return to Music", this would go after two blocks of text.

This would go to the Return to Instruments Section. You'll LIKE this, and the next one, maybe.

Yusuf

Almost forgot! This song, "Boots and Sand" came from his deportation from the United States, with Dolly Parton and other notable musicians singing:

Adding clips no rush but you'll like em better CAT STEVENS BEST

You know, I kept thinking since me and Tvoz both are middle aged, everyone must have heard Cat Stevens' best songs, but I assume (since you know computers!!) that you are much younger, educated and focused, you've proved it! I have no Admin. aspirations, Anyhow, you'll like this stuff better, and it is really representative of his most creative peak. The other guitarist who sits close to him is Alun Davies who is older, and took him to stardom. They became friends, and Davies spent his career on Cat Stevens. Nearly 3 decades later, you can see him in all Yusuf's new work, even your clip of "Father and Son". That's loyalty! I started a page on him, but there's so little information on him. OH Guess what? There's a boatload of great music on Derek Trucks's website on the page. Info, etc. But videos, all kinds of stuff. And, they now refer folks to the Wikipedia page. Man, I gotta get my ass in gear!

Enjoy. Take your TIME. Blessings! Leah --leahtwosaints (talk) 07:24, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

The Cat stuff

You have risen above and beyond for me. Outstanding. I'm just swamped right now. However, "Trouble" has a songpage, plus, in the text, the second section of Cat Stevens, Section 2.2 "Tuberculosis" is where "Trouble" would go. He wrote it, after his record label ran him ragged (& too much partying as a teen star) put him within 3 weeks of death, and he nearly died. He was there a year. So put it maybe between the two sections there. One clip wasn't the right one- you labeled one "Boots and Sand" which is really "Roadsinger", 2009 most recent title song. It should go on the "Roadsinger" song page. (Don't worry about that song Boots and Sand though, it's crappy and not representative of him.) I really feel that the clips you place on song pages should have the same description around them as the ones in the article. Many FA articles do this. (Also I can move them, as with "Peace Train" to the text- in this case, it belongs in the same section as "Wild World", but right before a block of text that says, "Having established a signature sound, Stevens enjoyed a string of successes over the following years." (A couple paragraphs down.) "Sad Lisa" I wanted, but was maybe too ambitious. I intended to make the song page for it, too, but there isn't enough information. I apologize that I've been so busy, possibly moving to Texas with like, 1 week notice- by July 1st, and I've not packed, found a job, nothing. So, I hope you understand that I've just been placing photos, and minor things. Later for now, Namaste. --leahtwosaints (talk) 02:47, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Video description

It's really raw, so you'd need to edit it for sure, but it's on the sandbox that you made for me. I hope it's what you were looking for. My computer is playing no copy and no paste games with me, so I gotta turn it off for a few hours, it's 2:30 AM here. Tell me honestly what you think. --leahtwosaints (talk) 06:28, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Good and Bad

The good news is.. Looks like I'll have photos of McClelland himself, and Connolly (perhaps better), a better band page photo (possibly- but I located one-- and ditto for Quinn-- a possible). I CAN be really persuasive sometimes. The bad news is that it'll take me some extra time to try to work on that song description piece. I fly out from here in 24 hours, and nearly nothing is ready. Don't even have the airplane ticket yet, much less the packing part! --leahtwosaints (talk) 09:15, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
