TTF coordinator

Andrea, I suggest you sign up as Twilight Task Force coordinator once you return from your holiday. I recently stepped down from the post since I did not have time to edit the articles related to Twilight saga. Have a happy holiday. Pmlinediter  Talk 11:33, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Eclipse

I have a rough outline for Eclipse, the movie, in my profile. If you could help me edit it, we could use it when Eclipse starts shooting in August. The reference for the August shoot is in the article and is on the Book page. I also know that this happens to be true because my friend visited the set of New Moon and talked with the actors about Eclispe, and they said August also.ChaosMaster16 (talk) 00:39, 12 May 2009 (UTC)ChaosMaster16

A quote can be found for any minor actor that gets added to Eclipse. It does not mean it adds any meaningful or notable content, especially when they are just generic positive filler lines. Terseness and brevity are ideal for an encyclopedia. Of course an actor is going to say they are "happy" for the job or production. The New Moon article does not showcase such quotes in its casting section let alone congratulatory comments by its main stars Stewart and Pattinson. Lautner's comments are notable because of his possible replacement and resulting change. -Jayavarman1 (talk) 03:11, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Jacob

I'm not exactly sure this is vandalism. Maybe it's just some guy who's very confused about the second most confusing thing about the Twilight series (the first being sparkly vampires). Sceptre (talk) 21:28, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

WikiProject Novels - Coordinator Election

Good Evening. I imagine none of the seven of you who will be getting this identical message will really know who I am, so I'll briefly fill you in. I joined the project four months ago, and recently I took up the role of writing the newsletter with help and mentoring from The Ed17. Between us we decided - in an attempt to revitalise the Project - that a Coordinator Election could get people interested. So, the point of this. An election has been set up, and in an attempt to modernise it, it will be a bit shorter and possibly sweeter - one week to sign up, three weeks voting.

The seven of you who are receiving this message, are the seven people - not including myself - who hold positions at the Job Centre, so you are the people most likely to want the challenge that is the role of Coordinator. The deadline for nominating yourself is 23:59pm June 27.

To nominate yourself, copy the writing in the box below into the Candidates section, adding your details and statements:

=== Name ===

{{user|Name}}
: Statement goes here...

==== Comments and questions for Name ====
(this part is added when voting phase starts June 28)

Finally, I have not decided whether I am standing yet. Also, if you want to reply to this, I would be grateful if you could reply on my talk page.

Thanks, Alan16 (talk) 19:03, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Elcipse and Breaking Dawn on Vampire films

IMDB lists Eclipse as pre-production and Breaking Dawn as in development. Official summit entertainment site has Eclipse in news section with director and release date announced. Therefore preperations are obviously already being made for it so "crystal ball" doesn`t work here or i missed something in that description. I don`t see any info on official site about Breaking Dawn so it could be removed. I`ll wait for you response before changing anything as to avoid pointless "edit wars" or whatever they are called. --BlisterD (talk) 08:54, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

I agree that IMDB isn`t that reliable, it can be edited by random users also, yes? As for Eclipse, i guess i`ll just wait untill it gets its own article here and then will put it back, won`t take that long imo =] --BlisterD (talk) 19:54, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

It looks like we both reverted the vandalism at Midnight Sun (novel) at the same time. I undid the edit then went to the talk page of the vandal to see you already left a message, I went back to the article to see no edits occurred after the vandalism, I checked my contributions and the edit wasn't there, I went back to my watchlist and saw you had performed the edit. The vandalism sits there and 2 hours later and we both notice it at the exact same time! :P ©Ξ 05:15, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Twilight series: Social impacts?

Hey Sergay. I was wondering if I could add a "Social impacts" section in the Twilight series main page under "Critical reception". Obama has been listed as bonding with his daughter to read Twilight. Twilight also has a lot of other celebrity fans like Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas. All of the links are completely notable and reliable.

I found this article: http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1613038/20090601/story.jhtml to be very interesting and was wondering I could add bits from it under the critical reception. I know Twilight has a lot of fans but these people aren't just everyday normal people and I guess they deserve to be mentioned under the critical reception just like Barak Obama.

What do you think?Mo HH92 Talk 11:28, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Twilight series: Social impacts? Thanks for the reply. I agree with you. I have removed Barak Obama from the critical reception section and added a short paragraph to the "phenomenon" section. I did realize that the MTV article had celebs liking the Twilight movie so I did not add that. I've added Emily Osment, Kelly Clarkson and Shakira to the article. It's just a short paragraph. New Moon

See the New Moon Bella Swan and Edward Cullen pictures I found? It's exactly what I've been looking for! If we can only find a similar one for Jacob. Also, there's another New Moon trailer out. Like I said though, keep your eyes peeled for a good Jacob Black photo if you can. Thanks ©Ξ 09:37, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

That one's perfect, but yeah, the source is kind of iffy. ©Ξ 21:23, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Another problem is the characters pic. It just shows the Cullens. Hopefully, now that New Moon is coming out we will get a new group photo. I searched, and couldn't find one. ©Ξ 03:54, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
The one we have now for Jacob Black is too "screen-grabby". I say upload it, (not override the current one), use it and then if the user who uploaded the original doesn't complain after a couple of days, we tag it for deletion. ©Ξ 04:07, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey Sergay! Long time, no see. Thanks for "cleaning" up my edits on the New Moon page. You truly, truly rock! The film comes out within a week in my place and I'm simply hyperventilating, haha. I was trying to find some positive reviews of New Moon and I'll add them to the "reception" section. Thanks again! Mo HH92 Talk 07:38, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Update: OK, I've added snippets of a few more reviews and re-organized the entire section, listing the positive reveiws first as all other film articles seem to do the same including the Harry Potter film articles. What do you think?Mo HH92 Talk 09:27, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey Andrea. The user Manticore55 has continued to revert my edits and add the "criticism" section again and again. Twilight box office table war

Hey there, I've noticed that you patrol/edit The Twilight Saga (film series), and wanted to ask you a question. As you may have noticed I created the box office performance table (before the page was even created and it was still on the other page) and the editors liked it and moved it over to the current page. Mind you I didn't just make up that table's format, I got it from GA articles on how it was done. Now this user User:ChaosMaster16 keeps editing in the RUNTIME (which is already in the infoxbox) and the DIRECTORS (which is already in the infoxbox), and deleting the references box and moving the sources next to the film name. He did this without an edit summary and didn't even have the courtesy to come to my talk page to explain the change. So I reverted it and left him a message on his talk page AND the films talk page. He left a message on the talk page (but not his or mine) and finally left an edit summary, that said he wanted it to be on par with the Harry Potter table. Well I changed that table yesterday, because it was a mess, to put it lightly and editors were actually proud I did it. I told him that I would create a Production table and list the director, writer, and producer (for all 3 films, since Eclipse already has a director and in production). But I'm thinking why bother.. he'll just revert it back AND I think it would be redundant because all of that information is in the infobox. I also told him if he/we keep this up that I will report us to edit warring. Oh and I want to say that I'm not even a Twilight "fan", I've never watched any of the movies nor have read any of the books, so I'm just doing this to help all the articles I can make GA/FA one day. What do you think about all of this? Thanks. --Mike Allen talk · contribs 19:10, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

PS: This is the table I'm talking about.

Birth dates & places of Edward & Bella

Sergay, I noticed that my edit for birth date & time was removed for both these characters as they are not 'real' people. Yes well of course that's true, but I think it is still relevant to include stated details about the 'characters.' I think it is relevant since this makes Edward a Gemini, & Bella a Virgo, which may be of interest to many people, & not just practicing 'astrologers.' For instance the Star Trek 'character' Capt Jean Luc Picard has his birth date & time stated on his page, which I think is relevant to his character summary. Many fans would be interested to know this.

Reference source: http://twilightlexicon.com/2006/03/29/chapter-one-first-sight/

Would it be better to include these details in the intro, rather than putting it in the info box like I did. eg. "He was born on June 20, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois USA." or "She was born September 13, 1987, in Forks, Washington USA." or create a seperate section like Jean Luc Picard. "Jean-Luc Picard was born to Maurice and Yvette Picard[9] in La Barre, France, on July 13, 2305,and dreamed of joining Starfleet."

What do you think then?

Thanks Solastro. --Solastro (talk) 01:00, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Midnight Sun (novel). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Hey Andrea. Where are you? It's been a while since I saw you on the Twilight series articles. A user had been makign several changes on the criticism section of the Twilight series main page. A few was just trivial information, such as commenting on the Twilight Moms, Taylor Lautner's reaction to a woman asking him to sign his panties etc... You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide

Hey Sergay, I've got a few things to tell you. Look, the Twilight series novels need a lot of updates and edits. Development sections should be enlarged. There are alot of infromation about the development of the books found in The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide. I suggest that a 'Controveries' should be added to the Twilight (series) article. 'Themes' sections should be added to all of the articles about the books. I was wandering if you could help me add those changes. Yeah, and the Guide article nedds zillions of edits. Please, help me improve the articles' quality.Thecoolguy4ever 14:37, 1 June 2011 (UTC)Thecoolguy4ever — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecoolguy4ever (talkcontribs)

Twilight (novel)

Look, my edits on the characters' section were not in universe. All the stuff I wrote is introduced in the novel. OK, I agree that I shouldn't have all that info about Rosalie because it's introduced in Eclipse. However, all I wrote about Alice is introduced in the last chapters of Twilight said by James. Let's discuss it, please.Thecoolguy4ever 01:13, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Thecoolguy4ever

Re: Twilight (novel)

OK, I got your message. I want to suggest a few things. Why don't we add a 'Themes' section to each of the four novels' articles? I know there's one in the Twilight (series) article, but that one covers the general themes of the whole series only. A lot of critics wrote articles about the themes of each book, so it would be nice to explore those themes in a Wikipedia article. Most articles about books have a 'Themes' section, anyway. Twilight is such a great phenomenon that has an unbearably short article without much information given. I did my best on Breaking Dawn, but it would be nice to enlarge those articles and give more relevant information.Thecoolguy4ever 13:53, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Thecoolguy4ever — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecoolguy4ever (talkcontribs)

Bella Swan: character background

Hey, Sergay. I really don't want to start some edit war, really, but you said that the character background I wrote gives info about the character's life not how Meyer created it. My point: There is already a 'Concept and creation' section that gives info about how Meyer created the character, the background section gives info about the character's life before the events of the books. The info in that section is verifed by the Twilight Lexicon interviews and The Guide and is not in-universe because there also quotes and explanations from Meyer about the charcater's background. Let's discuss it plz.Thecoolguy4ever 13:11, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Thecoolguy4ever — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecoolguy4ever (talkcontribs)

Main Page appearance: The Hunger Games

This is a note to let the main editors of The Hunger Games know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on September 14, 2013. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/September 14, 2013. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is a 2008 science fiction novel by the American writer Suzanne Collins (pictured). It is written in the voice of 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem in North America. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, exercises political control over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12–18 from each of the twelve districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle to the death. In writing the novel, Collins drew upon Greek mythology, Roman gladiatorial games, and contemporary reality television for thematic content. The novel won many awards, including the California Young Reader Medal, and was named one of Publishers Weeklys "Best Books of the Year" in 2008. Since its release, The Hunger Games has been translated into 26 languages, and publishing rights have been sold in 38 territories. The novel is the first in The Hunger Games trilogy, followed by Catching Fire (2009) and Mockingjay (2010). A film adaptation, directed by Gary Ross and co-written and co-produced by Collins herself, was released in 2012. ('Full article...)
