[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Shiningroad! Thank you for your contributions. I am 4twenty42o and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{helpme}}

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! 4twenty42o (talk) 04:34, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- Well I hope you stick around. Just FYI you can link your account to your email so you do not have to create anymore accounts. It is generally considered bad practice to access more than one account. In your case however I am sure that will not be an issue. If i can be of any assistance please feel free to drop me a line. Sources
[edit]Hi Shiningroad, and welcome to Wikipedia also from me! I saw that you edited a couple of "psychiatric diagnosis"-articles such as EDNOS. For medical articles such as these ones, it is important that the information is based on reliable, third-party, published sources and accurately reflect current medical knowledge. Please read WP:MEDRS to learn more about it. Otherwise, happy editing and I hope you like it here! Lova Falk talk 16:42, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

PIV
[edit]Hi,
I was going to edit your entry in PIV, but then I noticed that it was a very recent addition, and I could easily find the author. So I'll ask you before changing it. I was going to remove the words "radical feminist", since while I don't know where the acronym originated, it is definitely used outside of radical feminist circles. Particularly if there are no references for the origin of the acronym, I think it's better not to categorise it. Thoughts?
Thanks.

[edit]As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable

Speedy deletion nomination of FKA twigs
[edit]Hello Shiningroad,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged FKA twigs for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

[edit]Hey! Of course! When you edit a section, at the top click on "Cite" and then on the left there is a drop down menu that says "cite web" or "cite news" click either of these and try and fill in most of the sections. Make sure to fill in the URL, access date (which is today's date), the title of the web page/article, who wrote it (if you can) and the date it was published (which will also be today)! If you have any problems take a look at WP:Cite and that should guide you through, or just simply ask me! Also, what do you think of the album? :)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. I hope you don’t mind me contacting you via your talk page. I’m a new Editor to Wikipedia, part of a small research team based at the University of Birmingham in the UK. I’m getting in touch as we’re trying to contact all the Editors who were involved in the Ada Lovelace Editathons in Oxford or London. If you have been, or still are, involved in editing, whatever the scale of your involvement, we would be very grateful for the opportunity to talk to you about your experiences. In the first instance, we’ve set up a short (10 minute) survey, which you can access via my User Talk Pages. If you are interested in helping with our research project, please can you drop me a line?

- Hi ShiningRoad,
Thanks for getting back to me on my Talk Page. I hope this is the right place to leave you a reply. The project came about because as an academic I've been interested in how the page history of articles gave insight into how people work together to produce knowledge. One thing that struck me was the way that women were represented in different ways to men. That started me questioning the 'gender gap' in the editing practices as well as representation, and wanting to find out more from the community about what the Editors' perspectives on this were. Hope this helps puts it in context. If you'd like to chat more and let me have your perspective, please do let me know. You can either leave me a message on my Talk Page again, or email me at R.e.page@bham.ac.uk. Thanks! RuthPage (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:19, 23 June 2016 (UTC)
