The article ARAM SATIAN (Satyan) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of David Satian, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.musicianspage.com/musicians/6255/more.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) A tag has been placed on David Satian requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits.
The next time you create an inappropriate page, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 08:29, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 08:29, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, ARAM SATIAN

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, ARAM SATIAN. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Aram Satian. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Aram Satian - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 08:31, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your article contained a verbatim copy from http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/aramsatian, which has now been removed/rewritten. Please see Talk:Aram Satian for further information. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Voceditenore (talk) 10:33, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Username and conflict of interest

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Aram Satian. The record label for some of Satian's recordings is Show Art Centre London and the article was copied from the album notes for this album Thank you.

Edition by Showart

[edit]

1. In a first section I added that the composer is a forefather of Pop Opera style as his work LILIT was composed in 1983, the time where the term MUSICAL was often used but not Pop Opera as this came much later and is still understood as a Voice that performs the Pop Music. Lilit is a first work composed in Popular style but with the same traditions as a classical opera, that is structure and the form of its dramaturgical development.(Please don't change. Thank you)

2.New paragraph is created "Background and Education" where these details are written more in details. Besides it is essential to mention names with whom Satian have studied.Don't change the content please

3.New paragraph is created Current Activities that describes activities currently the composer involved with.

  • Despite multiple warnings, you have once again pasted in the copyright text from http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/aramsatian which I had removed from Aram Satian. I have removed it once again and re-written some of it to include in the article. Please do not add it again. Not only is it a copyright violation, it is in poor English, badly punctuated and written in a promotional tone which is entirely unsuitable for an encyclopedia article. Please stop it. You must read WP:COPYPASTE and all the linked pages there and scrupulously follow the guidelines. If you paste copyright text into the article again, not only will it be immediately removed, you will probably also be blocked.

Also please respect the Wikipedia:Manual of style. You are capitalizing words that are never capitalized in English. The name of the article's subject is bolded only once (at the beginning of the article), and the subject is not to be referred to by his first name only. Notice

[edit]

I apologize for mistakes that I might have while creating this article. This could happen due to being a new member at Wikipedia.I would appreciate to get your advices on how to improve my text also in future. I also would like to stress out that I enjoy your community and will try to improve my knowledge of text writing gradually.

P.S. I couldn't understand how to upload an image. Could you please help. Thank you in advance

  • I understand that some of these problems are because you are new to Wikipedia and that you did not intend to be disruptive. But you have now been pointed to pages here which explain how to edit constructively. Please read them and follow them, and above all never paste text from another website into an article again. If, as I suspect, you have a personal or professional connection with the Satian family, you should not be editing or creating articles about them at all. Once again please read WP:Conflict of interest. If you wish certain information to be added to the article, suggest it on the talk page, e.g. Talk:Aram Satian, and other editors will add it as appropriate. But please note that you cannot paste material from other websites onto talk pages either.

As for the photograph, unless you personally took the image yourself, you cannot upload the image of a living person. If someone else took the image and they are willing to release it under the terms of this license: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0, you must obtain email permission from them and contact Wikipedia with the permission before you upload the image. Even then the procedure is quite complicated. These matters are covered at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. There is also a help desk at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. – Voceditenore (talk) 06:47, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
