Somalia state maps

Hi Siirski, while Somaliland has been essentially independent for a few decades, most maps continue to depict it as part of Somalia, and removing it wholesale from Somalia maps is not in line with WP:NPOV. Your edits to replace Somalia state maps with ones lacking Somaliland also do not mention this fundamental change in the edit summaries, which is not in line with WP:SUMMARYNO. With these considerations in mind, I would like to ask you to self-revert on these map changes, and seek a wider consensus on how exactly to reflect the Somaliland situation in these maps. Hi @Chipmunkdavis:, Please have a look at this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puntland where a similar pattern is happening, where this user removed the map of Somalia wholesale and preventing users from reverting it back to normal. HI Siirski, Openstreetmap is user-generated and not a reliable source. Even if it was, our articles should reflect the WP:WEIGHT given by the overall corpus of sources. Orphaned ref

Thanks for creating Template:Largest cities of Somaliland. One of the references, tageo, is orphaned, meaning that it isn't defined anywhere in the page and therefore shows up as an error. I checked some of the references and they didn't support the population figures given in the template. @Siirski: Saaxil is 11,381km2 while Maroodi Jeex is 16,138km2 per this International Medical Corps report from 2009 ([3]). I'll fill it out don't worry, make sure to focus on the Sanaag districts maps while I look for Baligubadle and Salahley districts.

I just contributed to the article you linked by adding the maps. I did my research and based on several sources this is the approximate boundary for Baligubadle district ([4]). I will do my research on the boundaries of Salahlay district and I'll come back to you when I'm done.

Perfect. I just managed to figure out the borders of the districts in Maroodi Jeex (see [5], Salahley is just east of Baligubadle). I'd also very much appreciate it if you could also fix the Buuhoodle district map, towns like Odanleh and Balli-Calanle in the west were errendously added to Burao district and were omitted (see [6]).

I saw your edit in Flag of Somalia. It's very interesting that State of Somaliland, which has only existed for a week, had its own flag, but neither State of Somaliland nor Flag of Somaliland seems to have a reason or source for it. Hi @Freetrashbox:, According to the flag used by the Villa Somalia flag consisting of a light blue field with a central white star. Which symbolizes unity and independence, officially on June 26, 1960, in Somaliland, and only days later in the former Italian Somaliland, with whom it united on July 1. --Siirski (talk) 10:22, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

Vandalism etc.

I saw your edit. As far as I have been able to find out, Dhahar is effectively controlled by Puntland, and the idea that Dhahar is Somalia's territory cannot be said to be Vandalism. In such a case, "no agreement" seems to be appropriate. See WP:ATWV and WP:VD. Also, regarding your other edit, you seem to prefer the exclamation mark. You probably don't have a specific agenda, but some people may take this as you enjoying it. It would be better to use "Reverted back." without the mark here. And since everyone can see that you're reverting, you need to give a more detailed reason why you're reverting. I think "no agreement" is good here too, since the purpose is probably the same as the previous edit.--Freetrashbox (talk) 02:24, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
