License tagging for File:88697654612.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:88697654612.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:09, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know the welcome above is a bit late for someone editing for over a year, but I wanted to thank you for this edit and noticed you were never welcomed, so consider it a (very) late welcome cum thank you. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 21:45, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your welcome message! And thank you for your great job on the Template:Certification Table Entry (and the related ones). Anyway, regarding the Italian certifications, instead of manually updating the URL as I did, can you add a parameter for the week number in Template:Certification Table Entry, so that it can automatically generate the right URL? I think that the parameter id should be ok for that reason. What do you think about it? Thank you again! Regards --Stee888 (talk) 20:50, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I understand, the latest one includes all previous certifications, so the right one to use is always the last one. But I see your point, we do need a better way than to edit Template:Certification Cite/URL every time. I'll think about it. --Muhandes (talk) 22:43, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sanremo Music Festival 2012, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Project Eurovision RFC discussion reminder[edit]

WikiProject Eurovision: This is a reminder to all members of Project Eurovision, that there is still an ongoing RfC discussion taking place at the project talk page. It is vital that everyone participates in this discussion, as it concerns the future manual of style and article layout in regards to Eurovision Song Contest by Year and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by Year articles. This is your ideal opportunity to contribute suggestions and ideas on a major issue, which will reflect on the way these articles will be written in future. Thank You! Message from the Editorial Team

Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome!

Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. It is easy for editors to get into conflict with each other, and things can get very nasty on the most trivial of issues, whether that be on the language of songs, the names of certain countries, or how we deal with incidents at the contest. In such circumstances it is worth remembering one thing: we are all here to build an encyclopedia, and the contribution of Eurovision to human knowledge can only be given justice if we work together and make articles, not drama!

  • If you would like something to appear in the August 2012 Edition of the newsletter, then please inform us at the Project Newsdesk.
  • If there is an article you think we should have? Request it here.

Happy editing!

Project News
  • When creating new articles about a performer or song, please remember to add sources either from Eurovision.tv, ESCToday or other reliable sources. If you're not sure a source is reliable enough, then ask the project for an opinion.
  • Remember to only add content to articles that is relevant to the article's main subject. Anything not in relation to the article may be questioned and/or subject to redirection to an article that would benefit it's inclusion. Again if in doubt, ask on the article or project talk pages for an opinion - communication is an important tool.
  • On the subject of communication, please make use of the article talk pages. They are a vital tool in conducting consensus talks of additions of proposed new sections and/or removal of unnecessary section. If you don't use these pages to put across your views, then you only have yourself to blame if actions are taken that you disagree with and you end up wandering into edit warring territory.
  • The 2012 season of Eurovision has drawn to a close, and we now start preparations for the 2013 edition. While things will be slow to start of with, now is the ideal opportunity to do a clean-up exercise across articles relating to the project. There's over 4,500 articles associated with the project. If you happen to see a Eurovision related article without the {{EurovisionNotice}} template on the article's talk page, please add it. You can also read Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment if you would like to help assess or reassess articles in our project if you see that they have outgrown their current assessment. There is currently one unassessed article.
  • And finally... a massive thank you to all members of the project for your constant hard work on collaborating and contributing to Eurovision related articles. Keep up the good work team!

Project Alerts
Headlines
Project Gossip
  • The RfC discussion in regards to article layout, is still taking place on the project talk page. Could all members please ensure that they participate in the discussion so that we can all agree on important article structure issues. If you don't take part, then you only have yourselves to blame if a consensus is passed that you disagree with.

Be Here Now[edit]

Hi, thanks for adding some more chart data and certification info to Be Here Now (album). I just wanted to let you know to make sure when you are adding new references to an article (especially a Featured Article), that the citations you add should match the style already used in the article, per WP:CITEVAR. In the case of this article, it doesn't use citation templates. I've already reformatted your additions to match the rest of the article so there's nothing to worry about on that page, but it's something you always want to be sure you do when adding material to pages with already-established citation styles. WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes[edit]

Hello,

Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:

  • Template names have now been modernised and/or megred into super-templates, for example Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest has now been merged into Template:Eurovision Song Contest making it even easier to find everything under one template. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind. Other templates have been modernised and a full list of them can be found here.
  • The Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest articles have now been standardised to keep a consitancy throughout the project and to the genral reader too. Skeleton article drafts can be found for Eurovision Song Contest by Year and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by Year.

If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision.

Wikilinking[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

(This even applies for infoboxes.)

Thanks, and my best wishes.

Hi Stee88, I have left a message at the above link for updation of the SNEP url. Can you please help me out there? I don't know how to update. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 09:47, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Irish Singles Chart[edit]

Hi, IndianBio directed me here as I had a question regarding the singlechart template for Irish charts. At the moment the template uses the GFK Chart-Track website, but that only goes back to the year 2000. For singles at least, it's possible to find peak chart positions for songs before 2000 on the irishcharts.ie website, but of course it's not possible to use the template for this - at present the entry has to be inputted 'manually'. Do you think there is any chance of the irishcharts.ie website being incorporated into the template in the future? To be honest I don't think it's going to be that easy to do: there's no way of telling which week a song reached its peak chart position, for example. Richard3120 (talk) 17:46, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Richard3120: @IndianBio: You can now use Ireland2 as the chart ID within the Singlechart template to provide URLs pointing to irishcharts.ie. I already suggested it here something like two years ago, but nobody introduced it. It was time for me to do it myself! :) Thank you for suggesting me to do that. Hope it works, I used it here as an example. I also added it to the documentation, but you can write on my talk page for any issue. Stee888 (talk) 21:55, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Stee888: that's absolutely brilliant, I've tried it out on a couple of other articles I've been working on and it works perfectly. Thank you so much for doing that, and making the change so quickly, it's very much appreciated. :-) Richard3120 (talk) 11:09, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
One other quick question – normally when you place a mouse cursor over a reference number in the text, a box opens with the citation text, and then when you click on the number it takes you to the location of that citation at the bottom of the article, in the 'references' section. I have noticed that neither of these happen when the Singlechart template is used, you have to scroll down manually to see the citation that the number refers to – obviously it is not an urgent requirement, but there must be something in the coding that stops this happening. Richard3120 (talk) 12:52, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Richard3120: That was an interesting issue! It only happened when using spaces after the chart ID parameter. I discovered that unnamed parameters are different from named parameters, because they keep spaces in the end or in the beginning of the provided value. Since this parameter was used to create the reference ID, it generated some issues, but I also discovered there's a template to remove these spaces, so I used it within the Singlechart template... and it looks like it works! Stee888 (talk) 19:37, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's it, fantastic – I'm afraid I am not a programmer or coder at all, so I'm not sure I understood everything you said above(!) but it definitely seems to have solved the issue... it wasn't really a major problem but I always wondered why it only affected the Singlechart template; there was never a problem with the Albumchart template. Thanks. Richard3120 (talk) 19:42, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement[edit]

WikiProject Eurovision
Important Announcement

Dear Project Member

Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles.

Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you.

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Traduzione Ita-Eng[edit]

Stee888 (talk) 19:47, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Stee888: Ottimo, ti ringrazio davvero molto. Saluti! --Samu204c (talk) 19:51, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stee888. On Atlantico (album), you used Template:Start date in the singles template attached to the infobox. This is considered a misuse of the template per the template's documentation and my clarification to the template creator on Template talk:Start date. It should only be used once in the infobox itself and not outside of it. Thanks. Ss112 16:12, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
