Stop nominating articles for GA and FA

Until you can properly articulate to me that you understand the community preferences for GA and FA nomination procedures, please stop nominating articles for these reviews. You don't seem to understand what sort of content should be nominated as pointed out to you by BlueMoonset, an example of which would be here. You are creating more work for people, and I'm already seriously concerned that you may not have the level of competency required to edit at Wikipedia constructively. For example, I'm aware of your lengthy history of creating hundreds of random portals that wind up getting deleted. Based on this alone, I can't even fathom what you find rewarding about editing at Wikipedia, since about 20% of your edits have been deleted. That's not a strong record. I'm also concerned that despite claiming to be a native English speaker, when you interact with other users like you did here, you seem to respond with incoherent statements. There are other linguistic problems, like creating non-parallel categories for males and women, rather than for males and females as is typically the way things are done. Anyhow, please stop nominating articles for GA and FA, and I strongly advise you to bring the quality of your edits up. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:53, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb, before nominating these articles, these articles need meet the GA criteria and bring the quality of my edits up? -- Happypillsjr 16:04, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

I don't know what you are asking me. Please don't nominate any more articles for GA or FA review, and make better editing choices. Editing Wikipedia is not a right, it is a privilege and any edits that are problematic and require other editors to repair will be considered disruptive, and you may likely wind up sanctioned to protect the encyclopedia. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:59, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
@Cyphoidbomb and Happypillsjr: I see this issue has come up again. Happy, as an extension of this, please don't review any other articles just yet, either. I have just left a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject New York City Public Transportation#New York City Subway stations in Brooklyn to be nominated for FL status saying why you should refrain from doing this stuff right now. It's great that you want to help out, but I'd recommend that a mentor help you improve your first quality article before you perform any more nominations or reviews. epicgenius (talk) 01:15, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

GA reviewing

Hi, Happy, you reviewed 1 (New York City Subway service) at GAN, and it's fantastic that you want to be involved with GA reviewing, but the review was a little short. Little detail was given, and it was passed without any response from editors. I've done a few GA reviews, but before I did my first, I asked for advice from an experienced GA reviewer. I asked Ritchie333, and it was really useful just getting the pointers from him on interpreting the GA criteria and how to properly use tools like earwig's copyvio detector. There's other users at the list of Good article mentors that you can ask for some help like this.

I've also added comments to the review you did; these are written in my style of reviewing. Everyone does it differently, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend using it. If you familiarize yourself with the criteria, completing GA reviews can be done however works for you.

Thank you again for showing interest in these projects! Kingsif (talk) 18:32, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi again - continuing discussion from over at GAN here, before it gets off-topic. If there's any C- or B-class articles you're interested in (you recently suggested nominating a list for FL, but perhaps we can start a bit lower), something you've been editing recently, we can try a mentorship where you can ask me questions on improving it for A- or GA- criteria? Kingsif (talk) 20:36, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

@Kingsif: Trying a mentorship would be a good idea.-- Happypillsjr 20:47, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Yeah, do you have any articles you've been working on? If you pick one, I'll know where to look for your edits and can make suggestions and prompts. Kingsif (talk) 20:50, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
@Kingsif: I would say articles that relates to the New York City Subway but M (New York City Subway service) and L (New York City Subway service) are the examples.-- Happypillsjr 20:58, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Cool, I've taken a look at the L line, do you have any questions about what can be done next to improve it? Kingsif (talk) 21:11, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
@Kingsif: No questions yet but at hope this would be B-Class article.-- Happypillsjr 21:15, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Hmm, I might call it C-class, but even though it's got a decent amount of content, a lot of this doesn't have a clear reference. For most Wikiprojects, an article must be well-cited to be B-class. Have you tried looking for sources? Kingsif (talk) 22:06, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
@Kingsif: Still trying to find some but I was too busy on the M line article.-- Happypillsjr 00:24, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
@Kingsif: I think found one. https://gothamist.com/news/a-century-ago-nyc-didnt-even-have-an-l-train-to-complain-about

That looks good, have you checked that the source is reliable? The article also says "As Peter Derrick explains in his 2001 book Tunneling to the Future" - could you find this book online, perhaps? Kingsif (talk) 23:20, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

@Kingsif: reliable? and I say the book online and saw the preview.-- Happypillsjr 15:00, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
Yes, sources should be judged for their reliability. This one looks ok, but I would familiarize yourself with WP:RS, as well. Kingsif (talk) 21:46, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

GA reviews

Hi again, Happy. I can see on the Bx12 (New York City bus) GAN review page that you've not responded to my prompts, nor did you ever start to make an attempt to review it. I'm sorry to say this, Happy, but I think that the GA procedure isn't for you right now. You don't seem to understand the criteria, but nominate lots of articles and then open reviews for others that are either arbitrarily passed or left empty. I've tried to help you out, but you either question my suggestions or ignore them. I'm sure you're trying your best, but maybe it would be better if you just watch the process without nominating or reviewing anything. Kingsif (talk) 03:12, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

@Kingsif:, hey just answered your question in the nomination. Sorry I was busy creating an article.-- Happypillsjr 03:19, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
You spent a month creating an article? And couldn't take two minutes to respond to a ping or check a page on your watchlist? I don't mean to sound rude, but that also doesn't sound invested enough in doing a review - I sometimes take my time with them, but it's a bit rude to leave the article's nominee hanging indefinitely. Kingsif (talk) 03:23, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
@Kingsif: Maybe you're right that is rude to leave the nomination hanging, but I should've to multitask at the same time.-- Happypillsjr 03:27, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
I don't understand that last part, Happy, are you saying you shouldn't be expected to multitask? If you can't, it's not wise to open reviews when you're working on something else. This review, especially, you opened almost as soon as I had just finished up doing the Sunset Park review that you abandoned... Kingsif (talk) 03:41, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
@Kingsif: Right and I shouldn't abandon on the Sunset Park review-- Happypillsjr 03:43, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
