Year in professional wrestling project

Hi Optimistic Wikipedian. I notice you've started a timeline for professional wrestling. I've experimented with a few pages of my own in the past and was curious if they could be of some use to your project. I have one for 1948 and 1985 if you're interested in looking at them. Thanks. 72.74.199.9 (talk) 20:34, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks. I borrowed bits a pieces from other Wikipedia timeline pages (e.g. 1948 in baseball) to create my format. I also submitted Draft:Years in professional wrestling to WP:AFC. 72.74.206.151 (talk) 06:47, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

The article Mr. Price (Ireland) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Hello, I'm SummerPhDv2.0. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of films considered the worst, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. As discussed on the article's talk page, films included on this list must cite multiple independent reliable sources that directly refer to the film as the worst film ever made (or similar). Prison Break

Hi there, I see you created another episode article for Prison Break. I started a discussion here regarding these articles. At the moment, all they are is a plot summary (which is copied from the season article) and a single quote from IGN. I really don't think they are necessary unless they're significantly expanded upon. For example, IGN provided a season review, why not summarize that and add it to the season article instead? We shouldn't be arbitrarily creating episode articles just for the sake of it, unless there's significant content for it – filming, production info and a much more in-depth reception. I just don't see it with a series like Prison Break. Drovethrughosts (talk) 20:49, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Drovethrughosts, thanks for taking up your time to deal with this matter. The articles i have created have little content, that is true but if you give it time then more contributions would be made by other users improving the article(s). But there are some articles that have the exact same content, for example this article which is about a prison break episode. Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 20:59, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

My problem is that these episodes are now several months old, I feel if there was enough interest in it then they would have been created when the season was airing. Are you okay with the idea that if these articles aren't expanded within a certain amount of time (say, a few weeks), we can just redirect them? Again, no content is being lost here; we would just move the IGN quotes to the season article's reception section. I'm aware there are several other problem articles across Wikipedia, but that article is from almost 10 years ago when standards were much lower; we shouldn't be piling onto the list of problematic episode articles. Thank you. Drovethrughosts (talk) 21:06, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
I appreciate the efforts, but can you please hold off on creating these Prison Break articles. You're just doing the same thing: copy and the paste the plot summary from the season article and then adding a quote from IGN. This hardly meets notability guidelines. I suggest taking my advice of reading IGN's season review article, summarizing its contents and adding it to the season 5 page. That would be a much more worthy effort, instead of creating these seemingly pointless episode articles. Drovethrughosts (talk) 12:51, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Liar (Prison Break) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.hotdvdmovie.com/prison-break-seasons-15-dvd-p-1846.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Africa

Hi. If you think that it is significant that the Africa (Toto song) article should mention a use of it in the background of a video game, please explain it on the talk page, rather than repeatedly reverting it back in without explanation. It would be helpful if you explained what this use of the song, among the literally hundreds, if not thousands of appearances it must have made in various media, adds to the readers understanding of it. Otherwise it would appear to be trivia that adds nothing.

Please also find a reliable source that verifies this use, rather than a random Youtube video uploaded by an unknown person who is not a reliable source.

Could you also please get into the habit of using the edit summary. It helps explain what you are doing, and why, to other editors, and therefore helps avoid misunderstanding.

Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 19:23, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Irish Travellers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Love/Hate (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Missing/Fatalities on article 2017 Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116 crash

Hi, I noticed you reverted my edit changing fatalities from 4 to 2 on the 2017 Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116 crash article. You will have noticed on the edit history and article talk page I gave reasoning as to why that was reasonable to count the missing as fatalities, namely that memorial services had been held. Due to the sensitivity of the subject I would not wish to toggle the edit back and forth. It would however be appropriate to discuss on talk page or at least give a reason for the edit in editsummary before making this edit ... especially as WP:BLP applies. Please use the talk page to see if concensus can be reached. ( I known I'd like to find time to update the article .... I just don't have the quality time to do it justice.

2017 in professional wrestling Good Article nomination

Optimistic Wikipedian, I'm afraid that 2017 in professional wrestling is considered a List rather than an Article when it comes to how it's treated; it is not eligible to become a Good Article. It might be eligible to be a Featured List, though I'm not familiar the requirements; you can find out at WP:FLCR. However, as the Good Article criteria make clear, stand-alone lists cannot be Good Articles. Best of luck with the Featured List process, if you decide to pursue it. (I have removed the GA nomination from the article's talk page.) BlueMoonset (talk) 07:40, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

2017 in professional wrestling

Please do not revert, there are tons of issues that you are restoring. There is not reason to list every PPV twice, in the events section at the top and then by company. All the information by company is already in their respective page which can be accessed through the see also section. Wikipedia DOES NOT list every single match or event, only notable ones. Listing every title defense does not belong on wikipedia, if you want to create a table with title changes, maybe, but not every match, that is info that belongs on a wikia, but not wikipedia. Additionally your revert provides links to numerous incorrect pages. You are also adding in tons of people into the births and deaths that shouldn't be there as they violate WP:LISTBIO. - GalatzTalk 23:26, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

  • So why was that revision up on the page for the biggest part of a year until you came across it. Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 02:20, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
That means nothing. Just because no one else made the changes doesn't mean it should stay. There are pages that are on wikipedia for years until they get fixed. Marina Franklin was a page that lived basically unchanged on wikipedia for about 5 years until I recently nominated it for deletion, which it was. Are you saying I shouldn't have done that because it had been on wikipedia for so long? - GalatzTalk 03:42, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
  • What i am saying is that all year round many users edited that article and didn't spoil the page by changing the pages entire format by removing anything that they don't like or agree with when they should have voiced their opinion on Talk:2017 in professional wrestling. Just REMEMBER that i agree with SOME of the changes that you made such as the inclusion of non-notable wrestlers (wrestlers without an existing article on Wikipedia) in the births and deaths sections. However i strongly disagree with your opinion on the edits you made to the "Notable events & matches" section(s). Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 04:52, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
    • Why would we want to list everything twice? Its already in the top section. - GalatzTalk 04:56, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
  • They are two completely different things. The top section is a calendar and below is a detailed account of every notable event and match that covers the entire year. Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 05:08, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Tell me Galatz, does the calendar provide the same info about everything that the "Notable events & matches" does. Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 05:13, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
    • Anything notable, yes it does. What benefit is listing the WWE events at the bottom over the listing at the top? - GalatzTalk 05:23, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Please do not revert changes again, there is an overwhelming consensus to maintain the new version at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling#2017 in professional wrestling. - GalatzTalk 15:33, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Headers

I removed your links you added in the headers in 2017 in professional wrestling which you have now added back. In MOS:LINKSTYLE it clearly states Section headings should not themselves contain links. Please stop your edit warring and self revert. - GalatzTalk 04:27, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 31

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1991 in professional wrestling, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WWF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
