Request on 06:50:48, 5 July 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Dr. Venkat Sumantran

Hi I am trying to create a Bio Page for Dr Venkat Sumanthran. His achievements are not listed in any main stream media can we still create a Bio Page for this person?

Dr. Venkat Sumantran (talk) 06:50, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Please don't. Wikipedia has no interest in what the articles subject wants to say about himself, only what reliable sources have reported.

Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject have published about it in reliable places. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent sources have said about them. If there are no sources then we don’t have an article.Theroadislong (talk) 08:16, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

For submission of Nirmal contractors

Sir,the company was a very reputated company in the local region hence this is important for the company to have a wikipedia page so that users can eaisly understand about the company and the references that was used their was showing as blog but actualy company buy a domain nirmalcontractors.tk which redirects to the blog and hence it can be used as used in the other companies wikipedia article.Sir, the page was very important for the society.Recwiki (talk) 12:07, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

You need to establish notability by adding references that show there is widespread in depth coverage of them in reliable sources independent of them. We are not interested in what they have to say about themselves, blogs or otherwise. Theroadislong (talk) 12:09, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

sources

hey I just want to say I had forgot to source my page on Barbara Sletto. I Have found two reliable sources found from her website joinhyc.org and https://www.linkedin.com/in/barbara-sletto-65238b70. sorry for what happened I didn't see the source box but now I have this is the completed topic on Barbara Sletto — Preceding unsigned comment added by KEATON TENCH (talkcontribs) 16:06, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Her own website and Linked in are of no use whatsoever for establishing notability, we need widespread in depth coverage of her in reliable sources independent of her. Theroadislong (talk) 16:11, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Thanks

I couldn't start my own userpage, and someone else had to do that for me. I don't know how you did that but thanks, I still need help with the sandbox; is it just for experimenting? what happens when you submit a draft for review on your sandbox? — Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinW7 (talkcontribs) 16:20, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

KevinW7 Yes your sandbox is a space for experimenting and viewing the results, you can ignore the submit button, unless you consider that you are proficient enough to draft a new article. Theroadislong (talk) 16:44, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Draft:Leman_(transport_company)

Hi - You have rejected my article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Leman_(transport_company) . Did you notice that I added a link to an article in Berlingske, a very major Danish newspaper? Do you even read Danish? Would you like a translation of the article? Are you aware that there is already an article on Danish Wikipedia, of which this is basically a translation? Gjensen (talk) 20:09, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Your submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability, we need multiple in-depth coverage, the fact that Danish Wikipedia has an article is irrelevant. Theroadislong (talk) 20:19, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Corina Brouder - lawyer

Hi,

The source was in Talk, which was apparently overlooked, added by her mother:

As stated earlier today: "Corina is a licensed attorney and this is the second time we have changed what was written. Corina's juis number from the State of Connecticut is 439201, issued in 2017."

But I have a web page which states this as well.

In fact the false info which I replaced earlier today was not removed by wikipedia:

"Corina is also an unaccredited lawyer who was not sworn in after completing the Connecticut Bar exam."

It can clearly be found that she *is* on that website so that's what I will try and add.

Which also links to http://zdlaw.com/

Although admittedly she is not listed under B.

Rovsky (talk) 12:22, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi,

Coming back to Corina Brouder's page, this person has been changing information on the page:

"Dragonslate"

With the disinformation being:

"Corina is also an unaccredited lawyer who was not sworn in after completing the Connecticut Bar exam."

MRS Communications notability

MRS Communications has a Journal Citation Reports impact factor, which is usually sufficient to satisfy the first criterion (C1) for academic journal notability. It is also listed in Scopus. What other evidence of notability do you think is necessary? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.252.20.193 (talk) 16:34, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

I could be wrong but I don't think the draft satisfies WP:GNG Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Feel free tore-submit and let another reviewer take a look. Theroadislong (talk) 22:27, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Ashton House, Beetham

Hi Theroadislong,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your interest in my family home and to let you know that I am new to the publishing conventions of Wikipedia.

I have tried to upload information about my home following years of extensive and painstaking research carried out and verified by top academics in the field of architectural history at the University of Oxford, where I subsequently received a distinction for this work and a place to read for a doctorate on the subject. My research primarily relied upon my own expertise as an architectural historian (specialising in country houses for over three decades) and the extensive primary sources which were contained within the house and which are now held in the local public record office in Kendal, Cumbria. The reference [CRO(Kendal)WDX948], which I have used for those records was provided to me by the local government office and whilst the records are not available online they are available in hard copy to the visiting public. I should point out that this research is being published as a book next year by an prestigious academic publishing house who have the work peer-read.

In terms of your first reference, the official listing mentions a datestone of 1678. It does not state that the building was built at that date, which in fact it wasn't. This datestone was repositioned off an adjoining family dwelling. The family records evidence this.

I hope that this is of help. I am in no way trying to disparage your history of my house, but would prefer any information published on the internet about it to be factually correct. Please feel free to contact me for any information which you feel may help you in this objective, I am more than happy to assist you where I can.

Yours truly, Gordon Fairclough FSA(Scotland) MA Lincoln College

Hello from slotmachiner and question on article resubmit

Good afternoon @Theroadislong ,

Thank you for looking at my article submission for Kaihan Krippendorff. I went through and reworked, basing all of the information off of articles I found from jstor, google scholar, or grade A media news sources. Can you let me know what you think of the changed article?

I also read through your article and noticed that you seem to be interested in Staffordshire pottery – I am into collecting antiques as well and two summers ago found an excellent piece created by Enoch Wood in 1820. Underappreciated art in my opinion. Thought you might find that interesting!

Best regards,

Just look at the PDF's what is not verifiable? This guy is a real person, I don't understand what's not understandable. He's a physicist, he writes physics, he has some accomplishments. Are you denying he exists and wrote these things? I think secondary sources are impossible at this point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duehat (talkcontribs) 17:01, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

I do not doubt he exists, but without in-depth secondary sources we cannot have an article, we have no interest in what he says about himself, only what others have reported about him. Theroadislong (talk) 17:05, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

He's A physicist, it doesn't matter what anybody's saying about him. Are you denying he's a physicist and there's sources of his work? This is stupid. Are you going to post rumours on here or stuff you see with your eyes? These articles are secondary sources. I'm saying this is pretty significant. You should look at the work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duehat (talkcontribs) 17:17, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

I do not doubt that he is a real person! You need to show that he meets Wikipedia's requirements for notability - basically, that there has not been enough material published about him by people unconnected with him to base an article on (Wikipedia has no interest in what you or I know or think about him it is only interested in what people unconnected with him have published a,bout him in reliable places such as major newspapers). Theroadislong (talk) 17:13, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

I added some stuff. I hope that helps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duehat (talkcontribs) 17:31, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

re sources for my rejected article on Antonio Garzya

First, thank you very much for looking at the article so quickly. You did it in 5 hours instead of the "up to 5 weeks" they said it might take. The main point for the rejection was "no sources" meaning easily verifiable sources. I translated this from the German Wikipedia. Their article has abundant articles about the subject -- sources --but I don't know how verifiable they are to an English-speaking audience. Most of them are in Italian and some are in French and German. If you might look at the German original and give me some advice, I'd appreciate it. That link is at the top of the article I submitted. It has been a while since I did anything on Wikipedia (I started in 2005). Man, things sure have changed. Thanks again.Jeffmatt (talk) 21:32, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

References do not have to be in English, though of course it is simpler if they are, but we do need references before the article can be accepted. Theroadislong (talk) 21:34, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, with regards your addition of the notability tag to this article and this discussion I wondered how you would feel about taking the article to AfD. As the article's creator I'm happy for it to go though the AfD process rather than have it sit with a notability tag. Also I'm not quite sure why you added the wikilinks here only to take them off again here? Wouldn't undo & a new edit for putting his job title in lower case been more appropriate? --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 19:11, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

As that is the claim to notability, I added the wiki links to see if there were articles about the organisations but there aren't so I removed them, sorry I should have used preview. If you think he is notable then perhaps more sources would help? Theroadislong (talk) 19:21, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
I wondered what you think of the article now. Can you answer at this discussion please? Thanks. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 01:50, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

Re: Draft: Olivia Wells

Hi Again,

Please can you explain as simply as possible as to why my page about an actress has be declined? Obviously, I can’t improve something if I’m not told exactly what to improve.

Many Thanks

Wikipedia articles require significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject.

Three of your sources are just routine cast listings, the fourth is to her father’s website which doesn’t mention her. Please read WP:NACTOR for what is required to establish notability. Theroadislong (talk) 19:43, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

But now the draft has no sources? PLEASE read the decline notice it tells you exactly what is required to establish notability. Wikipedia articles require significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Theroadislong (talk) 21:32, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

You weren’t happy with the refs but if you read it, although it was a cast member page, it gave lots of details about Miss Wells. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BensChopper (talkcontribs) 21:34, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

The reason is in the decline notice, namely... Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Three of your sources are to commercial sites to buy his music and the fourth is Facebook none of them are suitable for establishing notability I'm afraid. Draft: Alex Litt

Hello! You've written in Draft:Alex Litt that there are no articles about awards. But I posted a lot of links that approve not only awards on official page contest, but in news portals of Moldova too! I know, that news are posted in Russian and Romanian, but there is information that can be checked. As the artist is from Moldova, so news about her are on official 2 languages of Moldova first of all - they are Russian and Romanian. Another moments about the article (that were written in not neutral tone) were changed.

Can you give an advice, please, what I need to correct? I also know, that there are not so many awards, but all of them are very precious for Moldova as for country - non of another artists participated ever in those contests and it was a real discover for Moldavian art. There were a lot of articles (the most part is provided as references in the article here in Wikipedia), than - interviews (even taking to consideration that the artist is very young, only 23 y.o). CristinaDragau (talk) 08:16, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

I meant that there are no Wikipedia articles about the awards, so the awards are not notable as far as Wikipedia is concerned. Theroadislong (talk) 10:41, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

So, do I understand it right - to publish the page about the artist I need first of all to create pages about contests? CristinaDragau (talk) 12:05, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

I found another biographies of artists (photographers) who mentioned the same awards: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Prokos https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Vijayan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_Saltzman https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_Korea https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juliette_Cavendish https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leland_Bobb%C3%A9 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_McLennan

And their bios were published and awards were accepted.CristinaDragau (talk) 12:47, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

I also added one more fact: In 2018 she was included in Acceptance list Special Themes Circuit 2018 from TRIERENBERG SUPER CIRCUIT contest under Photographic Society of America and FIAP. The included name of photographer can be checked by link. Hope it will be notable too. CristinaDragau (talk) 13:06, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Yes there are other poor quality articles, please read Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. Theroadislong (talk) 13:20, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

May I have your advice - how to make my article worth publishing? Thank you in advance. CristinaDragau (talk) 14:32, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Thank you! A few more questions, if you don't mind?

Hello, again -

Thanks so much for the feedback on Draft:March_Networks; I appreciate it. I definitely want to make sure we're adhering to the MOS and NPOV, so do you mind if I ask for a few pointers? The example you cited in the draft is this:

"GURU[24] is a free smartphone app that enables mobile technical support and troubleshooting for in-field technicians and service personnel. The app includes support for configuration security audits, installation audits, and wireless recorder provisioning. March Networks' Command Mobile is a free end user app for live and archived video viewing."

Can you please tell me which phrases / words are coming across as too promotional? I'm not trying to be pedantic, I promise. I'm just trying to make sure I correct the problems ASAP in this draft, and that I don't make the same error in any future submissions.

Thank you again for your help!

It reads like something from their website not an encyclopaedia article. Wikipedia ONLY reports on what independent sources say. Theroadislong (talk) 14:16, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks again for taking the time to offer feedback; I appreciate it. I can definitely tone it down further, but have a process question - should I wait for further reviews or go ahead and pull the draft now (if I can even do that)? I do want to ensure I'm staying well within Wkipedia's MOS NPOV requirements. Also, sorry for the lengthy delay in this reply; I was out on a quick vacation. :)

Invitation to participate in study

Hello,

I am E. Whittaker, I am working with Wikimedia’s Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview.

Thank you Ewitch51 (talk) 20:25, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) If there's one thing that makes people uncivil, it's incivility surveys, I tells ye that for free :D  ;)

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hello Theroadislong, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

June backlog drive

Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.

New technology, new rules
  • New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
  • Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
  • Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
Editathons
  • Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
The Signpost
  • The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Moneygram

Thank you for taking the time to review my contribution. For the record I left Thomas Cook in 1994, 24 years ago. I have no association with them now no commercial interest that would benefit me from correcting and updating this page. I've held the position of CEO of a law firm for 13 years and hold a very high line when it comes to "breaking rules" or fraud. It would be appreciated if you would allow these amends to hold as they are correct, the fact I was within the business shouldn't be a reason to stop me providing factual content and the news link URL's items are equally accurate. Unfortunately the MoneyGram Page has a number of inaccuracies but i simply don't have the time to address them all. Those editorial additions that I have made are the most glaring in that the Thomas Cook relationship, which was fundamental to the development of the brand has been completely overlooked. To be frank I've far better things to be doing than argue over the semantics of Wikipedia's editorial guidelines but if you deny this amendment I'm guessing your happy for your pages to continue to reflect a rather warped and inaccurate view of this and other corporations. Alumni will have genuine first hand knowledge and if there is no benefit for them in making edits why deny their input? I do like Wikipedia but matters such as this are hugely frustrating and in all honesty give an impression that only those with the "secret key" can create content. I would be happy to make further contributions but it will rest on how this turns out. If Wikipedia does not consider my contribution valid I would put to you that the editorial process is flawed. David Laud--Davidlaud (talk) 12:04, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia has essentially no interest in what you or I have to say or know about anything. We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. Theroadislong (talk) 12:56, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Meetoo page resubmitted based on feedback/learnings on Wiki Help

Hi,

I've resubmitted the Meetoo company Wikipedia based on your feedback and other learnings from Wikipedia editors. This now has an education/encyclopedia focus. Please can you review and feel free to give me any other feedback? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Meetoo

Many thanks, Ben. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benwaugh4 (talkcontribs) 13:04, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi Theroadislong,

Based on your comment just now I have removed the ad like language and anything that comes across as promotional. As per your suggestions I have also removed the body hyperlinks as well. Feel free to review this again now to see the changes.

Many thanks, Ben.

Hi Theroadislong,

I made some tweaks to this wiki article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Meetoo and I'm just wondering if you will get the chance to review this over the next week or so? Just trying to review some of my content lists before I go away. It would be much appreciated if you could take another look at it?

Many thanks, Ben.

You have a conflict of interest and you need to declare that you are being paid to edit the article. I won't be helping you any further. Theroadislong (talk) 08:06, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi Theroadislong, I do have a relationship with the company and work for them as an editor. I've added in the declared Wikipedia code. This Wikipedia page is to provide complete facts about what this technology does and the history of it. I hope the edits in the page come across as that now. Do I need to add anything on the page that declares this as well or just add it to the talk page as mentioned in the help article?

Many thanks, Ben.

Thank you for your disclosure, I'm afraid that, like many others, you have misunderstood what Wikipedia is about. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that summarizes what independent sources say about a subject. Wikipedia has essentially no interest in what you or I have to say about anything. We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. Your draft only has one reference and will not be accepted should you re-submit. Theroadislong (talk) 08:39, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi Therodislong,

Thanks for the feedback - this is a complete summary based on independent sources, facts and follows the structure of how other live wikipedia pages are set out (other organisation pages such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBay). I will add in the rest of the references so you can see that this is the case. Once fully complete with references I will get back in contact.

Many thanks, Ben.

I have no further help to offer...you are being paid, I am not. I detest paid editing. Theroadislong (talk) 16:52, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Citizens for Global Solutions

I have no conflicts regarding this organization, other than an interest in the subject. I added in "additional citations for verification" as requested at the top of the page, intending to be helpful. I understand I erred in etiquette in removing the tag, but I did not understand that it must undergo further review. That said, I think my extensions and revision of the article were useful and should be restored. PJOinDC (talk) 12:41, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

PJOinDC Your edit here [4] added unreferenced content which is why I reverted you, I didn't suggest you had a conflict of interest and neither did anyone else, though your edits appear suspiciously like it. Theroadislong (talk) 15:08, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

My apologies -- there was a total reversion to the piece before my edits with the note "Revert promotional editing by likely COI editor." but it was by someone else. PJOinDC (talk) 18:00, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Hello,

I am writing to discuss the matter of the article of Víctor Font that you declined, you can see it here: Draft:Víctor Font

Your comment said that "is not clear why he is notable?", but i'm trying to prove that he is notable enough because these three reasons:

  • He is a candidate president of FC Barcelona, one of the most important sport clubs around the World.
  • He is the co-founder and CEO of Delta Partners, a multinational professional services firm, listed and regulated by the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).
  • And also, he is shareholder founder and member of the board of directors of Ara Newspaper, one of the most important newspaper of Catalonia, in Spain

This three items, under my opinion, prove the notability of this man.

It is important to say that all the reasons i have told are already proved on the article by their references of independent media. The references became from top mass media from Spain media like La Vanguardia, El País, El Mundo, Expansión, Sport. All of them are part of the most important media of Spain.

Thank you so much for your review. - 79.153.41.45 (talk) 10:37, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

The draft is written as an advert. Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything the company has to say about themselves. It is only interested in what people who have no connection with them have chosen to publish about them. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent sources have said about them. Theroadislong (talk) 14:24, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Klaus T. Steindl

Dear Theroadislong, thank you for reviewing my article about Klaus T. Steindl. You are right and I tried to make some improvements (external sources instead of website and IMDb). But: German Wikipedia accepts IMDb as a reliable source. IMDb is very well known in film business and is used as "international film encyclopedia". Documentaries of Klaus T. Steindl are mostly international coproductions shown all around the world (USA, Australia, Russia...) - but there are only very few sources in English language, so this is an essential source to prove the international notability of this person. I am a fan of high quality documentaries, my favorite is "Wild Venice", written and directed by Klaus T. Steindl. Please take a look at my german wikipedia-article about Klaus T. Steindl. There you will find a lot more infos and sources, but my english i too poor for an encyclopedia so I hope, some film-interested native speaker will improve and expend the text - but therefore it have to exist at wikipedia! So please re-review my improved article and give other persons a chance to expend it! Best regards, wofuboWofubo (talk) 10:35, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your comments. I agree the content of the article was a bit imbalanced in favor of the homeowners. I'm accumulating more information about the house and will resubmit the article as soon as possible. In the meantime, I am curious to know whether the section on the original homeowners can be retained.Nomad 2 (talk) 15:31, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Dear Theroadislong, First of all thank you reviewing my article. Your comments have helped me a great deal to improve it. Now, that I have met all necessary standards I would like to ask you kindly to reconsider your decision. The person my article regards is a public figure that has received significant media coverage from more than five of Germany's biggest newspapers journals: Gala, Stern, Focus, Brigitte, Münchener Abendzeitung. They are independent and reliable sources. The articles consist of both interviews and unbiased portrayals of this person. My sources are not among the list of sources Wikipedia considers inadmissible like Facebook, IMDB, home pages etc. My article meets all the criteria that are expected of an article on a living person. More so than other articles about actors such as: Jonathan Elias Weiske, Josh Dylan or Karen Fukuhara. The actor Nicolo Pasetti is clearly a person of public interest. This is verifiable not just by the number of his professional credits but also by the vast amount of significant attention Pasetti has received from independent and trustworthy newspaper journals. A continued dismissal of this article is at this point not only unjustifiable but, more importantly, harmful to the very purpose of Wikipedia, which is to be a reliable and comprehensive encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smiarro (talkcontribs) 07:30, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

Rejected page IITBombay Lingo

I am actually the original creator of https://www-old.iitbombay.org/contact-us/iit-bombay-lingo as the original webmaster of iitbombay.org. I am an alumnus and Board Member of the IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation (IITBHF), the Alumni foundation of the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay. The idea of creating the Wiki page is precisely to ensure that the IIT Bombay lingo content is preserved for posterity and easily updatable by alumni and current students of IIT Bombay.

Let me know what specific proof or approvals are needed to verify the above - you can see my name listed on the Board of Directors of IITBHF at https://www-old.iitbombay.org/contact-us. The Wayback machine will also show this page from the old times - we have since moved to a new web-hosting service, hence the name www-old.iitbombay.org and this site may soon be decommissioned, and we would lose the content. I had the idea of creating the Wiki as a way to contribute my content to the open web, and encourage other alumni and students to keep updating it forever.

There are links on your talk page about copyright, but regardless of that, to have an article about IITBombay Lingo we would need multiple in-depth independent coverage of the terms before we could accept an article. Theroadislong (talk) 15:06, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

In order to demonstrate the notability of "relay ball", you need to provide references to articles written about it in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books, etc, only then can an article be considered. Theroadislong (talk) 15:48, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
