I have removed the unsourced content you added to the above article and replaced it with the properly sourced information that you had removed. Everything you add to this wiki needs proper sourcing. Please see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources for more information. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:46, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay sorry bout that I'm not sure what is and is and is not appropriate for the page. There seems to be a lot of people editing in what I originally posted, some being the moderators and some not.

    • Actually im not too sure which changes your mentioning. After adding the traditional songs and the folk tradition section I did not make any changes.
Diannaa is talking about the material you added here. Parts of it have since been re-added with sources.--Cúchullain t/c 16:07, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wedding customs

[edit]

Hi Thomast48, please see my comment at Talk:Knanaya#Wedding_customs_page_numbers. We're going to need the page numbers for the new additions (I've also condensed them and reworked them as prose, rather than bullet points). Let me know if you need any help.--Cúchullain t/c 16:05, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Knanaya, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Syriac (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 18:37, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Knanaya into Thomas of Cana copper plates. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 19:51, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Hello Thomas, I noticed that someone has alleged that you have a conflict of interest on the Knanaya article. I will ask you to clarify your connection to that community: are you a cleric, or consecrated religious, or employee of the Church? If so, then you have a COI that needs to be declared. You have been doing good work, and your research is high-quality, and personally I have not detected violations of neutrality in what you've been writing. So, let us know, OK? And keep up the good work. Elizium23 (talk) 05:13, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Elizium23, Hi Elizium no I am not a cleric, consecrated religious, or employee of the church. I have a background in social science (cross-cultural studies) and for that reason have knowledge of and and access to a plethora of these sources which I have cited in this article.

Okay then. It is not a COI to be simply a member of a religious community, so don't let people push you around or tell you different. Elizium23 (talk) 05:45, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Elizium23, Thank you.

The article cites 19 short Harvard references but no works are listed in the bibliography. Can you please add the full citations? Also, suggest installing a script to highlight such errors in the future. All you need to do is copy and paste importScript('User:Svick/HarvErrors.js'); // Backlink: [[User:Svick/HarvErrors.js]] to your common.js page. Identify Syriac vestment

[edit]
Syriac bishop?

Hi Thomas! We have a question that might be in your milieu. Can you take a look at this photo; it is a group of bishops at the Second Vatican Council. There is one Eastern bishop there, and we believe he is Syriac of some kind, and we'd like to know the name(s) of his headwear, and if they are in Wikipedia articles right now. Thanks in advance! Elizium23 (talk) 00:31, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Elizium23: the above is a Syro-Malankara Catholic bishop attending the Second Vatican Council. The following source explains the different parts of the vestments he’s wearing:

Hi..

[edit]

Hi, User:Thomast48, I'm here regarding the Knanaya image issues in the article Saint Thomas Christians....

  • Firstly those images do not have any kind of copyright, if so please present the proof that they have copyrights.
  • Secondly they were taken from an old photo album, then how come there's copyright on them....??? You alleged it was from a documentary,. No it's from an old album, specifically from the Kunnassery family's photo album taken somewhat in the 1930s....I had made an error with the date.....

Thanks let's discuss Jennaiowan (talk) 09:18, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi user:Jennaiowan I’m not sure how your not seeing this but look at the couple in the pictures your sharing and look at the couple from the documentary. They are literally the exact same people wearing the exact same clothes. Did you view the documentary link I sent you? The film was created by Dr. Jacob Vellian, Dr. Jacob Kollaparambil, and Chummar Choondal. It is copyrighted through the Haduda Institute and was published in volume 1 of the Knanaya Sangeethika series. If you look at the uploaded video by the Christian Musicological Society of India, Fr. Palackal explicitly states he had to get permission from Dr. Vellian to upload/use the film.
