We are organising the "Wiki4Climate" online edit-a-thon from 24 November to 1 December 2020. Please take part by registering here. This event is organised by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and Future Climate for Africa (FCFA). If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to ask on the event's talk page here. Please also join us in the event's Slack channel for easier communication and to make this into a collaborative effort. To join the Slack channel, please click here.

Here are some links about Wikipedia editing that you might find helpful when you are starting out with your Wikipedia editing journey:

Please sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) when you post on talk pages. This will automatically produce your username and the date. Look for the "tilde" character on your keyboard; for example on English keyboards it is to the left of the "enter" key (accessible with the "alt gr" key). Speedy deletion nomination of The Truth Behind Women in Climate Change

[edit]

Hello Tima93Lb,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Truth Behind Women in Climate Change for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sustainable Development Goals and Lebanon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Global Compact. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:22, 3 January 2021 (UTC) Sure I will edit that and thanks for your follow up :)[reply]

Image without license

Unspecified source/license for File:Sessions 0016.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sessions 0016.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 23:46, 6 January 2021 (UTC) Sure I will keep an eye on the policiees and terms for next time[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Sessions 0016.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.unicef.org/lebanon/stories/lebanons-children-and-youth-raise-their-voices. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey, kifek? I see you have made some edits to Women in Lebanon. Do you want to work together to clean up the whole article? It should be more concise that what it is now (see Women in France and Women in Spain, for example). Also, all sentences in the article should be sourced. Shu ra2yek? A tag has been placed on Injaz Lebanon, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tima93Lb. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 08:57, 5 February 2021 (UTC) I understand and will work on that.Tima93Lb (talk) 09:59, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Injaz Lebanon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Notice

The article Injaz Lebanon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enough in-depth coverage to pass either WP:GNG or WP:ORGDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A few pointers

[edit]

Thanks for editing climate change and children, an important topic that definitely deserves attention. I'm noticing that the style you use isn't quite in line with what we expect on Wikipedia. A few pointers to improve your writing. Most importantly:

  • Avoid editorializing (it is important; it is noted)
  • Avoid using the word 'we'

And also:

  • Merge the sections under air pollution: we typically strive for 2-5 paragraph under each subheading
  • use sentence case for headings (Respiratory Effects -> Respiratory effects)

Hope that helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. FemkeMilene (talk) 11:51, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot, these are definitely helpful! Tima93Lb (talk) 11:53, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Responding here to keep the conversation in one place. You're still using phrases like "it is important", which is an opinion. Per Wikipedia:EDITORIAL, we should avoid these types of phrases.
Specifically, the phrase "It is important to be aware that Children are not being fairly discussed when it comes to the global responses to climate change because they are the future generation" should be rephrased as a fact or attributed to the author, as "fairly" is an opinion. You could say something like: children often have no political voice in decisions made about them, or Person A has said that it is unfair that children do not have a political voice. The latter is probably not appropriate for the lede, as the lede shouldn't contain details about a relatively unknown researcher. FemkeMilene (talk) 16:13, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Ghana AIDS Commission

[edit]

Hello Tima93Lb,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ghana AIDS Commission for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Inclusion Ghana moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Inclusion Ghana, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:15, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

[edit]

Hello, Tima93Lb

Thank you for creating Gender equality in Lebanon.

User:Usedtobecool, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Thank you for creating this article. I looked at two sources. First, for the 41% figure, and it was perfect. You had written it in your own words and the source verified it. As for the "Culture plays a big role in widening the gender gap in Lebanon" part, it is sourced to an interview, which means the best you can say is "According to [this person], Culture plays a big role in widening the gender gap in Lebanon" which is not a very helpful information to include. I have done some cleanup and added two tags which will be taken care of in due time, assuming you can't. I assumed that the reason you used AFC was to get feedback, that is why I am writing this. Hope it helps! Finally, there is already a related article with significant overlap Women in Lebanon. So, please consider what the scope of these two articles should be if they are to both stay. Or maybe, it's best to WP:MERGE this into that one. What are your thoughts?

Images in Wikipedia articles

[edit]

Hi Tima93Lb, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I'm afraid I have just reverted one of your image additions, to Academic writing, and I have noticed several other additions of images that don't seem to meet Wikipedia's manual of style for images, for instance in Social media. You'll find the relevant section of the manual of style at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images, but to summarise the basic idea, images in Wikipedia articles are not there for decoration but to add to the information the reader will get from the article. In this edit to Academic writing you added this image with the caption "Resilience research academic ecosystem". However, there is nothing to tell the reader how that image is related to resilience research or what resilience research has to do with academic writing, and since it is an illustration containing a lot of text, the fact that the text is in Indonesian and not in English means that it is only going to be meaningful to readers who are proficient in Indonesian. In Social media, you have added rather a large number of images, where I don't quite see how any of them actually explain the subject, or improve the reader's understanding of what social media is. File:Social_Media_Marketing_Strategy.jpg and File:Social_Media_Platforms.jpg and File:The_centralization_of_the_web_by_dominant_social_media_platforms.jpg are nice-looking, but they are abstract representations of social media, and again they do not serve to explain the topic to the reader. I hope this makes sense. I haven't removed any of your image additions except for the one in Academic writing, but I ask you to go through the additions you have made and think about how each image helps the reader understand the article's subject better, and remove the ones that are just nice-looking illustrations. At some point, the ones that don't meet the manual of style will be removed even if you don't do it yourself, by me or other editors – I don't think there is any urgency about it, but it would be unfortunate if you kept adding new images that don't meet the manual of style. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 11:40, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking time in explaning this. I do appreciate it and will keep note of that in my next articles.Tima93Lb (talk) 20:02, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well, like in this instance, you forgot to add the colon. See how the fist message has not colon, the second has one, and this one right here has 2? You should answer with 3 [:::]. Nehme1499 20:21, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This means my reply to the last one here has to be with 4 [::::] Thanks for the tip, and it seems that this is gonna be endless. Tc. Tima93Lb (talk) 11:05, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You just have to add a column at the beginning of your sentence.
Or two if the previous sentence has one column.
Or three if the previous sentence has two columns.
Etc.
