Hi.. I have added a couple of references already.. and restructured sentences that were sounding like advertisements. Anything else I can do to improve the article? YoungManBlues (talk) 12:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Probably OK, but then check the notabillity issue. I see another editor has already proposed deletion. See Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) --triwbe (talk) 12:39, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: cities of China

ROC is not recognized as a nation by the UN, considering their representative was kicked out and the PRC representative seated as 'China'. With that in mind, it seems misleading to users to treat ROC as a legitimate nation. Just my 2 cents...^_^ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.150.133.106 (talk) 23:35, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Then explain your edits in either the edit summary or the talk page. Anonymous, unexplained POV changes will be reverted. --triwbe (talk) 23:37, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Unruled Paper

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm trying to do all that I can to make sure it doesn't get personal, the previous discussion got way out of hand. You can see that I'm working on a version at User:Khoikhoi/Unruled Paper and User talk:Khoikhoi/Unruled Paper (I've already made a minor change here). Now I'm told that this magazine contains information similar to the Wikipedia article, and if we can just attribute the source properly and in a neutral manner than I think we can start to resolve this. Khoikhoi 20:22, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

I do not understand line 1 of the language :-( but I have a lot of sympathy for editors trying to get sources from non-english based articles. So I try to accept such sources in GF and hope that another editor who does speak/read the language will review at some point. --triwbe (talk) 20:32, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, the entire article is in Farsi. :-) But what I'm trying to do is provide the most similar sentences from this article to replace the disputed ones here. And if anyone has any questions I can get people to translate them. The problem in this case is that virtually no English sources on this movie exist, and definitely no English reviews. In this case (since the movie is indeed notable in Iran) we are allowed to use non-English sources. I'll get around to asking someone about the article either today or tomorrow. Khoikhoi 20:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
That sounds reasonable. Happy editing. --triwbe (talk) 14:41, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

An Apology

Hi. I wanted to offer my sincere and personal apology for what came across as an assumption of bad-faith on your part. It was not meant to be such but could clearly be taken in that fashion. I do disagree with the way you handled those NPP pages and would have preferred to see a personal and friendly approach taken as I suggested but that noticeboard was not the place to point that out to you nor was my tone appropriate. I apologize. --Justallofthem (talk) 17:54, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Water off of a ducks back mon ami. I had thought nothing more off it. I have not been on NPP for some time due to personal, professional and other WP matters. And if you check my archives, I do try to take on board all constructive criticisms, and maybe, just maybe, one does get a bit carried away from time to time when one is on a heavy patrol with lots of unpatrolled article showing up and few editors patrolling. Happy editing. --triwbe (talk) 18:22, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Cool. Thanks. --Justallofthem (talk) 18:27, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Definition of WP:Vandalism

Hi. You should probably review WP:Vandalism as this edit does not appear to be vandalism. Accusing good faith editors of vandalism is far from constructive. Toddst1 (talk) 14:27, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

I think you should review WP:BLP very quickly. "We must get the article right.[1] Be very firm about the use of high quality references. Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons — whether the material is negative, positive, or just questionable — should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion, from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space." The addition was unsourced and followed a previous vandalism here and here. --triwbe (talk) 14:33, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
You should have reverted my edits with a summary of rv wp:or or something similer. And your hardline baseless warnings were in error as well. Bwfc (talk) 14:37, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

I call it as I see it and this edit and this one I see as vandalism. --triwbe (talk) 14:40, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
So thats a general note and a caution you should have placed on my talk page not a warning and a final warning! Bwfc (talk) 14:42, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
See Wikipedia:Vandalism#Warnings - I can go straight to 3 or even given an only warning. I chose level 3 as you clearly know what you are doing but I was giving you a chance to stop there. --triwbe (talk) 14:47, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia is a funny place with lots of non-admins giving warnings and threats, its like you pretend to be police or something... anyway, since a real admin has said the edit can't stand, i'll leave it alone now! goodbye Bwfc (talk) 14:51, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello again, Triwbe ...

Nitin Kumar Reddy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) still seems Kinda Weak in the WP:N department ... I mean, they don't even have an IMDb entry, which has already been deemed insufficient in and of itself to justify an article about the subject!

I've put some lipstick on this pig, but wondered if Some Other Editor would second a PROD on this puppy, or would you contest it? ... Oops! Looks like it needed an {{Oldprodfull}} on the Discussion page, because you already slapped a PROD on it on 2008-07-27. :-)

So, I guess the question is, "Do you feel like taking it to WP:AfD, or should we just MOVE ON? Personally, I don't think that they satisfy WP:ENTERTAINER.

Velocity Mobile

Apparently the entry abut Velocity Mobile I made was deleted because it was considered advertising/spamming. I added it because I thought most manufacturers of mobile phones have an entry. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Markicevic Vladimir, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Markicevic Vladimir is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Markicevic Vladimir, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. references/citations

This is a great website and I understand your need for totally reliable informations. But it's not always easy to retrieve the references and proofs (often lost in a bundle of archives). So please leave us a little time! Many thanksFilmbuffcalifornia (talk) 17:23, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

If it's one one of the pages tagged as needing refs, I always leave months. If it is a page I have redirected or WP:PROD!ed then months will have passed but you can undo the action when refs are avialable. For the instance of Tony Maylam, I think there must be some references out there somewhere, so I will not be touching that one. --triwbe (talk) 17:47, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

That leads on to many of the cars in Kit car#United Kingdom. Many of those are in the same category. In a way I like some of them (as articles) especially the cars/companies that no longer exist. I think it makes wikipedia better with no risk of being commercial in nature. But, as the article says, in the UK practically anyone can set themselves up as a kit car company, so where does one draw the line ? --Triwbe (talk) 15:07, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Questioning prod of Sinan Alaağaç

Added reference to the death, which appears to be the reason for the prod. The article needs work, and honestly, if were to go to AfD, I'd go weak keep. From what little there is out there, dude seemed to have a decent degree of notability in Turkey (but since all this happened before the web really blew up, there will be fewer refs anyway), but I think at some point there may be an article there. OK, enough rambling. I'm tired right now, so I won't make a decision tonight to contest the prod. If you feel very strongly about it, though, let me know.

Vulture19 (talk) 04:19, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

User talk:Ash4sfc

Hi – I've just nominated Alex bastin for speedy deletion. I noticed you gave the author a final warning before they did this – presumably the previous page was an attack. The current page is tagged for notability – there seems to be no defamatory content – but I though I'd give you a heads-up as you issued the warning. Cheers. Cycle~ (talk) 12:37, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Hiya Triwbe. You and User:Calltech apparently disagree about this article, judging from the edit summaries. I've told Calltech that it wouldn't bother me at all if someone wants to take this to AfD. COI Questions

Triwbe - I have questions relating to a discussion on Dick Clark Architecture On the COI it states that the article may need a clean-up. Can you tell me what is on there that violates neutrality? or how it can be fixed? I feel stuck - I feel like the article is neutral and adds content - I want to play by the rules and have received messages from other administrators, to continue excited by the post - including the one who started this article. I would also like to write additional articles of similar content. But I feel that you want me to stop. I don't want to get articles I write or contribute to blacklisted as the article you posted suggested, because I feel that the articles do contribute, especially when I read other articles with similar subjects. It actually seems to be an area that could be furthered in wikipedia for data sharing and research on contemporary architecture. This is a difficult thing to research when you are in school as there is only one real database called the Avery Index of Architectural Journals. But most of these journals are not web based and schools of architecture only have limited selection. I am an adjunct faculty member teaching graduate studio in architecture and know that the students value the research capabilities of wikipedia. When I read the wikipedia policies i get conflicting information and am truly unsure how to proceed - sometimes it says that everyone should be allowed to contribute as long as it stays neutral and furthers wikipedia's content, but that if you know about the subject intimately it may be a conflict of interest to write. Please tell me what you would have me do to rectify the situation. Additionally does being a professor in a field cause a conflict of interest in writing about that field? If you could direct me to other wikipedia policies that I can read that would be helpful as well. thank you for your help. 9 ACRE (talk) 15:56, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

admiralxiphos about Made of Hate

Why did you delete the Made of Hate page I made? Made of Hate is a Polish melodic death metal band and it is important for all the fans out there to have a wikipedia reference page about their band. I beleive I even posted tunings on the page as a reference for guitar players who want to attempt at learning their songs. Why did you do that? Are you prejudice against death metal or something? Or did I not do something right when making the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.165.244.176 (talk) 04:25, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 91.85.138.20 (talk) 17:44, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
