Wikipedia as a reference

[edit]

Hi there,

I see that you've used Wikipedia as a citation in a few articles. That's not allowed! Can you please go through your edits and remove any such references that you've added? --Slashme (talk) 14:16, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Second person

[edit]

Hello again!

I noticed that you tend to address the reader directly, using the second person. This doesn't fit an encyclopedic style and tone. See MOS:YOU for more on this. --Slashme (talk) 14:42, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Milkshake, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Please leave it alone. It does not matter what you personally don't know of. Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Meters (talk) 01:18, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you might want to use Twinkle for adding speedy tags, as they will notify the page creator for you. It can be enabled in your preferences. SK2242 (talk) 15:34, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Dishwashing, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Britain (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:18, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notes vs. References

[edit]

Re your edit on Baked apple, MOS:FNNR says:

Editors may use any reasonable section title that they choose. The most frequent choice is "References"; other articles use "Notes", "Footnotes", or "Works cited"

And MOS:VAR says:

When either of two styles are acceptable it is inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change ... enforcing optional style in a bot-like fashion without prior consensus, is never acceptable.

Thanks, --Macrakis (talk) 21:51, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
