Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Michael Madigan, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 12:46, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the warning. I just saw this. Please forgive the multiple edits that followed. Thanks again. UncomfortablySmug (talk) 12:47, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Luke Letlow

[edit]

Hi. I am contacting you in regards to your edit of Luke Letlow's date of death. Please note that citation is required for this type of thing, as well as placement of citations. When you added his death date, you included it in front of his date of birth citation. On that point, please also ensure to not accidentally put new information in front of an older citation, lest it triggers the existing citation to fail verification. Regards, -- Tytrox (talk) 04:07, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. Thanks for letting me know. UncomfortablySmug (talk) 04:10, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AP + BLP discretionary sanctions alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Anya Taylor-Joy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Josh Boone. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Don't include rumors as though they are verified fact

[edit]

Wikipedia's mission is to be encyclopedic, not a tabloid. While unverified rumors may be fit for the pages of tabloids, Wikipedia has higher standards for verifiability. You recently added on both Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers' pages that the two are engaged. While, indeed, they have been rumored to be dating, and Rogers has announced he is engaged to someone, there is no verification that these two have even been in a relationship, let alone that Woodley is the individual that Rodgers is engaged to. You included the rumors that they are engaged as though it were fact. That is not encyclopedic.

I understand that these edits were in good faith, but be more careful in the future to be factual. Best of luck in your future editing, and thank you for your interest in contributing to Wikipedia.

Emma Watson

[edit]

Regarding the heading discrepancy on Watson’s page - she took one or two film roles a year, but starred in several successful pictures (Little Women, Beauty and the Beast, Perks, etc.) and garnered critical acclaim (Noah, The Bling Ring) which to me, warrants a “further success” as most of this took place over a decade in which she very firmly was playing adult roles. If we disagree, I’m happy to talk it to the talk page to seek third opinion. Bettydaisies (talk) 18:47, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
