ArbCom 2017 election voter message[edit]

Hello, User321a. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

December 2017[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Tyler Brennan, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for December 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Coronation Street characters (2017), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Steve McDonald (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:25, 21 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sue Parker (Neighbours) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Minor character does not require its own article

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 18:51, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User321a, I suggest reading WP:GNG, WP:FICT and WP:SOAPS before attempting to create any more articles for fictional characters. Perhaps create a draft in your userspace first. In this case, Sue is not notable enough for her own article, due to a lack of reliable sources covering casting, storyline development, and reception. - JuneGloom07 Talk 22:08, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of Neighbours characters[edit]

Thanks for your recent edits to the above page. I have reverted the edits, as the removal of former actors would be a significant change to the article and would need consensus before being implemented. For future edits of this magnitude, could you kindly put forward the proposal on the talk page for discussion and reviewing of other examples? Thanks. Adamiow (talk) 15:15, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is that why Coronation Street's list only lists the current actor? User321a (talk) 15:24, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please, please stop playing around with the tables. Either use a sandbox to perform test/experimental edits or start a discussion on the talk page, as Adamiow mentioned. Please also see WP:OSE and WP:OTHERCONTENT. Not all the soap lists are the same. - JuneGloom07 Talk 19:44, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I understand now, I usually think I'm being helpful, 9/10 I don't realize I'm being disruptive. I apologize profoundly. User321a 19:57, 13 January 2018 (UTC) I'll only edit tables where necessary, e.g. if a character dies in Neighbours or if a character gets recasted e.g. in Home and Away etc. Or if a character departs, returns or arrives in EastEnders for example. I am REALLY sorry, I'll use the sandbox in future once I know how to access it. User321a 19:57, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User321a You can access your sandbox at User:User321a/sandbox and exit that page there. You can do anything you like with it. But if you are editing articles in the main space, it MUST follow wikipedia's guidelines. I have seen you edit many articles constantly not keeping in mind wikipedias guidelines. If an edit is reverted and you are given a valid reason as to why it has been done, its best not to change it back. – Hatio93 Talk 03:36, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Forgot password.[edit]

Hello. I think I may have forgot my password to Wikipedia. I can't even remember the email address I provided to create this account. I was wondering if I could have some help or advice please? It would be greatly appreciated. User321a (talk) 18:40, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This may be of some help: Help:Reset password. - JuneGloom07 Talk 21:27, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to reset my password using my e-mail address, but there was no e-mail address recorded for my username. Is there anyway I can reset my password please? Thanks User321a (talk) 07:56, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. I really would like some assistance please. I have tried to reset my password by doing what JuneGloom07 suggested. However, it has came up that there is no email address recorded for this account, and I am also stuck as I am not allowed another account. This has left me with a dilemma. Could you guys please get to me ASAP with suggestions so I could try them out? It would be greatly appreciated, as editing Wikipedia is a skill that I would like to develop and further develop for the future. Thanks. All help and suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. User321a (talk) 15:51, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please get back to me regarding my password issue? It would be greatly appreciated if someone could do so, so that I can use this account on multiple devices. I did as JuneGloom07 suggested, but I didn't get anywhere. Obviously, I understand that the creation of another account would be prohibited, and that's why I would like a response please? It would like I stated before, be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. User321a (talk) 12:55, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There must be an email account attached to your account, as I'm not sure how you would have created it without one. Could it be a school/college/university/work email? To be honest, I don't really know what to tell you, as I've never been in this situation. So, I suggest using the help me function and hopefully someone will come along and help you out better than I can. - JuneGloom07 Talk 21:52, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JuneGloom07: Ok, I'll give it a go. Thanks User321a (talk) 15:51, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Soaper1234. I noticed that you recently removed content from List of EastEnders characters (2018) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. As you can probably tell by the constant reverts, redlinks remain for a reason. Please do not continue to remove redlinks. Soaper1234 - talk 15:20, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think you could provide a source for this edit, please? - JuneGloom07 Talk 17:12, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As stated in my last comment, content reverts and warnings is a clear sign you are breaking Wikipedias guidelines. Regarding your constant edits on Tyler Brennan please stop adding unsourced content, everything on wikipedia MUST be sourced. – Hatio93 Talk 14:27, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Could you provide a source for this addition? If you're having trouble adding sources, please see WP:CS and WP:V. - JuneGloom07 Talk 18:46, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

February 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to List of Home and Away characters (2018), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. I don't understand why you merged those characters together, an edit summary may have helped. You also forgot to provide a source for this edit [1] yesterday, and have made other changes today without discussion or explanation.JuneGloom07 Talk 22:03, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

February 2018[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of past Hollyoaks characters. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges.

Have noticed in the last couple of weeks this has happened on a number of different articles where you're not reading other people's edit summaries/notes or just choosing to ignore them, I've lost count of how many times. Though you probably don't mean to be disruptive, please just think in future. ThisIsDanny (talk) 18:28, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. How long have I been blocked from editing for and why? I didn't do any disruptive edits. It's upset me. Please could you explain ASAP User321a (talk) 16:49, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have been blocked for sockpuppetry but the only reason I can think of for this is that we have recently moved house and got a different IP address. Could you please reply ASAP and consider lifting my block please? User321a (talk) 16:57, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your account isn't blocked as far as I can see. - JuneGloom07 Talk 19:54, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's come up that my account has been blocked from editing. I can't attach a screenshot as I don't know how. I don't feel I have done anything wrong. I haven't edited in a disruptive way as far as I am concerned. Could you please check for me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. User321a (talk) 20:30, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to add edits which were helpful and I'm sorry if I had caused any disruption. I didn't intend to. If you weigh it all up, there were quite a considerable amount of helpful edits, when I have added characters to the former cast lists where necessary and if for example, a character was killed off in Coronation Street, I have added that character to the list. I don't 100% think that I did anything wrong, it's more 50/50. It would again be greatly appreciated if you could find out how long the block will last until it is lifted. I don't know if it's because I am using this account on a different IP address due to me moving house as I have previously stated. User321a (talk) 20:37, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've asked an admin about this, but as you appear to have edited here, you're not blocked. - JuneGloom07 Talk 22:30, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks its been sorted anyway

If you can email me with your IP address I can look into this. Either way I would appreciate a response to what I've said on my talk page. 5 albert square (talk) 14:59, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by a response? I was confused when you was like "Any Response?" Anyway, how will I find my IP address, as I don't know it? User talk:User321a 16:10, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

By a response, I mean a reply to my questions. You can find your IP address via a general Google search such as "What is my IP address". 5 albert square (talk) 18:02, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced edits[edit]

Regarding this: [2]. Could you add the source confirming this to the article, please. And in future, if you're updating the infobox after seeing a character is listed as returning or departing on a cast list, please source it in the article too (if it hasn't been done already). – JuneGloom07 Talk 18:28, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You still haven't addressed or acknowledged the above issue, please do so. - JuneGloom07 Talk 20:37, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I acknowledge it. I'll find a reliable source before adding a return or departure. User: User321a 06:47, 14 March 2018

So, you're going to provide a source for the edit you made to the Izzy Hoyland article? - JuneGloom07 Talk 20:16, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided one for you. User: User321a 20:34, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:MBB draft, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:34, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Joyce Murray[edit]

Is she definitely a past character? Can you provide a source or are you assuming that because the character has been killed off that she won't appear as a corpse? I'm checking because you marked her has past and she then appeared again, so you were wrong, and I attempted to alert you to this discussion but you didn't respond. Plus you are claiming that 29 March was her last episode but so far she has appeared in one further episode. I have reverted you for now. Thanks. — ᴀnemoneᴘroᴊecтors 11:15, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A user did remove her from the departing characters list, which led me to assume that she had departed. Now that the edit has been reversed, I'll leave it as it is. I apologize unreservedly. I honestly did believe that she'd left after that particular user had removed her from the departing characters list. User:User321a 16:21, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, I guess it was a misunderstanding. I did revert the other user as well. Just to be sure we wanted to wait for Joyce's funeral. Thanks for helping out. — ᴀnemoneᴘroᴊecтors 16:53, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's my pleasure! User: User321a 19:21, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Hi,

May I ask why you're adding references for something that's already referenced? Here you added one for Vincent leaving EastEnders but it does not tell us anything different from the previous reference? 5 albert square (talk) 16:01, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I was only trying to help. I only added it with the date that he departs. I genuinely thought I was helping. User321a (talk) 18:48, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah to be honest something like that would be more beneficial to the character article.
Also, when adding references can you please preview your changes? You keep missing out the headlines, you've done this in the article I've linked above and this needs to be corrected. Thanks 5 albert square (talk) 12:16, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mean to. Also, I have looked at the link, and I am not sure what you mean by headlines. I would correct it if I know exactly what I am correcting. Could you please help me regarding this? Although I have had this account for a few months, I still don't know how to do everything. Thanks User321a (talk) 14:03, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yup on that link if you scroll down to reference number 2 it says that the title is missing. If you click on help it will show you what to do.
You may also find referencing for beginners helpful. 5 albert square (talk) 17:02, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Tony Clay for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Tony Clay is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Clay until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. 5 albert square (talk) 12:06, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous user[edit]

I feel that an admin may need to intervene because the anonymous user 82.16.128.54 has been removing characters from lists where they should not have been removed, they have also been using explicit language too. If you look through this user's edit history, it should show them all.

I remember trying to report a previous user, and I was worried that I may have done it wrong e.g. by putting the report in the wrong place. Could I please have some assistance with regards to this as obviously, although I have had this account for a few months, I still don't know how to do everything. I feel that this user needs to be stopped, as the edits are disruptive.

Thanks. User321a (talk) 05:56, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:MBB draft[edit]

Hello, User321a. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "MBB draft".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 16:58, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) To add to this, User321a, have you considered creating your drafts in your userspace rather than in draft space? As you can see, drafts can be quickly deleted from this space and having your drafts in your userspace (or sandbox as it might be more familiar to you) allows you to work on them for at a pace which suits you. For this draft, you would either start it again at User:User321a/sandbox or User:User321a/MBB draft or something similar. Hope this helps :) Soaper1234 - talk 18:29, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

I am not sure what is meant by 'free' images. Would it be possible if I could receive examples of free images? I was hoping to update the image on the Neighbours article as the title card at the end of the opening titles has now changed, but I don't know what images are suitable for the project and I don't wish to get into trouble for not knowing what images are suitable. I understand that free images or images that are my own work are acceptable. If I know where the image used on the infobox came from prior to uploading, then it would be greatly appreciated. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could get back to me ASAP. Thanks. User321a (talk) 16:48, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you take a photograph with your camera then you own the copyright to it. You can upload it to Wikimedia commons under a license which releases it to the public domain. This would be a free fair use image. Using copyrighted images are non-free images - someone else owns the copyright and has not given permission for it's use. IP User[edit]

Hello. I have recently edited the List of births, marriages and deaths in Hollyoaks about two times per list as an anonymous user (217.158.88.114) has disruptively edited the table, and made the list really untidy. I edited the lists once since, and it didn't look right, then I edited it again since to the size that the tables were before this user meddled with the list. Apparently this user did it constantly and I would like some advice please, to prevent this user from causing further disruption. Thanks. User321a (talk) 12:16, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked into it and the IP has been disrupting the list for some time. I will request sem-protection of the list to prevent anon edits. If you can fix the table then that will be great.Rain the 1 10:29, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it as soon as I noticed it. It took me a few edits, but I got there finally. User321a (talk) 12:07, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

June 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 5 albert square. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Jo Warne, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! 5 albert square (talk) 16:59, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI, the date was completely unreferenced and I cannot find anything reliable on Google to state that she has died. Only a couple of forums which are most definitely not reliable. Instead of correcting the infobox and adding it further to the article, this should have been completely removed.--5 albert square (talk) 17:06, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't realize. I thought I was helping. I'll bear this in mind. --User321a (talk) 18:56, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please explain.............[edit]

this edit? Why have you created the user page for another user?--5 albert square (talk) 20:37, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It kept coming up as create page and when I closed it, it went back to the previous page. I was only attempting to look at the user's contributions to see if there was any disruptive editing that they may have implemented. User321a (talk) 06:33, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
They put Rosemary as a regular for Coronation Street, but initially I thought they were vandalising the page, and reverted them, but it turns out that Rosemary is a regular after all. I did it to check through their contributions as I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I didn't mean any malice or disruption by it. User321a (talk) 06:00, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
But you would have needed to have selected to save your changes.--5 albert square (talk) 17:29, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
At the time, it was the only way I could have checked their contributions. I had to select to do it. I am sorry if it caused any trouble. I thought I was trying to help, to see if that user was making disruptive edits. I am genuinely sorry and I will bear this in mind in the future. User321a (talk) 19:24, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, I've started a talk page discussion over the guidelines application and the protocol for the sporadic reappearances of former regular characters in Neighbours, which you can find at the above link. Please feel free to go ahead and contribute! All best, U-Mos (talk) 17:57, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

EastEnders[edit]

Sure, no problem. User321a (talk) 05:12, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@5 albert square: Also, how many sources do you require roughly? I can't guarantee that I'll be able to find them, but I will do as much as I can to try and find them for you. User321a (talk) 08:18, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just as many as possible. If you do happen to come across them that is. Thanks :)--5 albert square (talk) 04:51, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@5 albert square: No worries. As soon as I find any, I'll add them. User321a (talk) 06:46, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

IP user[edit]

I was scrolling through the List of Coronation Street characters (2016) list, and found that the IP address of 2001:BB6:D6B:3658:D9E7:923D:F7A1:DD76 has added that Toby Chapman has appeared in 2018, when he hasn't. This caused a bit of disruption, and although this user has made only three edits and they last edited in February of this year, their edits to Toby Chapman and Sally Webster were disruptive. Also, Pat Phelan's departure was confirmed at the time, and they removed 2018, and put as their edit summary 'please stop'. Could someone please look into this? If this IP address starts editing again, I feel that they may do more disruptive edits. It's very unlikely that they'll edit again, but if they do, then I fear that the edits will be disruptive. I looked in the block log to see if this user was blocked from editing, but it said that this user was not blocked. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could get back to me. Thanks and kind regards. User321a (talk) 15:50, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Other user[edit]

As you lot are probably aware of by now, the user Brooklynglassey123 has been vandalizing lists for a while, particularly with regards to Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. If you look at the edits that they have submitted today, you'll see that they have been adding unsourced dates and they also changed a returning character's actor from "TBA" to "WBA". This user has received many warnings, even an ONLY WARNING from a fellow user. I personally don't think this user is going to stop, and action needs to be taken as this user is tarnishing the encyclopedia. Please get back to me ASAP. Joe Tate[edit]

Can you please provide a source for your edits concerning this character's departure. You've been here long enough now and told enough times that you need to back up your edits with sources, so please start doing this. - JuneGloom07 Talk 19:34, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JuneGloom07: Sorry, I'll add one. Please bear with me. User321a (talk) 19:36, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JuneGloom07: Anyway, the reason why I said it was Cain was because Cain punched him, and Joe hit his head on a rock as a result of the punch. Obviously, anyone would make that mistake. Also, Cain pretty much admitted Joe's death. User321a (talk) 19:41, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I should have been more specific, as I meant the character's list entry. I didn't realise you were the one who added him to the Births, Marriages and Deaths list too. As there is still no source, would you mind taking a moment sometime soon to add one? - JuneGloom07 Talk 22:17, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Doctors[edit]

Hi guys. Could someone please send me a list of characters that were born, characters that got married, and characters who died? I am hoping to get a list of births, marriages and deaths out of it. A response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. User321a (talk) 13:56, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of hollyoaks characters[edit]

You are putting false things on Wikipedia and I might have to report it because if you keep on doing that people might have homework and it might be a subject based on that so you have to stop vandalising Wikipedia or there will be no Wikipedia buck up your ideas mate because your going to get no where in life if you carry on with this , from @Brooklynglassey123 Brooklynglassey123 (talk) 18:59, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Brooklynglassey123: Actually no I am not. Everything on Wikipedia needs to be sourced. Yes, the date was right. I will agree with you there. But without a reference to prove that your edit was true, it is best not to add them. There is no need to be rude. I am just stating one thing which is that you need to provide a reliable source for your edits. User321a (talk) 19:37, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, User321a. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of births".

CptViraj (📧) 08:32, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
