Answers for my requests[edit]

If you may help me with my requests or provide any useful advice - I'm glad to see you!

Welcome![edit]

Hello, V.utsekhovskij, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! @Whpq:
Dear Whpq,
You have deleted my draft for an article Global Voyager Assistance. I totally agree with an unambiguous copyright infringement and breaking of G12 criteria. And will definitely fix it. But I would like to say that in general I just made the translation of an article already published in other language. The text is published without any differences from the original article. Is it a problem that I would like to add the translation? I believe that this information could be useful for many people - because this company work on evacuation of many people during current situation in Ukraine. I will be grateful if you help me with tips and advice how to make this article better and publish it to mainspace. Thank you in advance! V.utsekhovskij (talk) 11:49, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you mean when you say you just translated from another article. Are you saying this article was translated from a Wikipedia article in another language? If so that other article is likely a copyright violation too. In any case, if you are translating an article, then you are also taking on responsibility that the material is not a copyright violation, that any references actually support statements in the article etc. In any case, we cannot accept copyright text regardless. So you will need to write the article in your own words if you want to create it. See Help:Your first article for information about starting an article. You will need to sure that the article meets our inclusion guidelines. Use Articles for creation to have it reviewed. You can also get help from the Teahouse. -- Whpq (talk) 13:06, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Whpq , thank you for your reply! I mentioned that this article is translated from a Wikipedia article in another language. When I published it I already had a discussion with Wikipedia patrollers and moderators about the content of this article. I rewrote it many times to make it fit all criteria. Now I decided to translate it in English, because many Ukrainians became refugees in other countries and they may look for an information about medical evacuation services - and this company is the only provider of such services in the country licensed by International Assistance Group (if it's needed I can explain the importance of such licensing and the situation in general). I thought that the problem is in image attached to an article and it's copyright. I can edit it or delete - it's not a problem. But I honestly don't understand what I did wrong with translation... V.utsekhovskij (talk) 16:42, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Some of the content was almost identical to the content on the company's web site. That's a copyright violation. -- Whpq (talk) 17:10, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, Thank you, now I understand! I thought that the citation would be better in this case. Could you please advise me what to do next? Should I create new draft? Or you can recover the deleted draft? V.utsekhovskij (talk) 17:24, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The draft is a copyright violation. We do not restore copyright violations. You can start a new draft by writing it in your own words. -- Whpq (talk) 17:30, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you once again! V.utsekhovskij (talk) 17:38, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello V.utsekhovskij! Your additions to Draft:Global Voyager Assistance have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 22:42, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
