This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of FTSEurofirst 300 Index, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.ftseurofirst.com/indices.aspx. Speedy deletion of FTSEurofirst 300 Index

[edit]

A tag has been placed on FTSEurofirst 300 Index requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 14:17, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Mahavairochana Sutra

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mahavairochana Sutra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

There is no visible notice on the page Immediate Respone 2008, was it removed? I support deletion. This is not an article that can stand on its own. USchick (talk) 00:36, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I support leaving it on. It does stand on it's own, and has information not available elsewhere on wikipedia. (who said this??)

It does seem to be a stand alone military exercise and not just a continuation from another page, but it's hard to tell. It needs work. USchick (talk) 23:42, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Immediate Response 2008

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Immediate Response 2008, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:46, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recordfreenow, yeah i agree the article is biased. I don't believe that's the position of the NGO, probably just a statement from 1 member (a captain M K Andhare). Why would an NGO make a statement like that without any evidence? No sure what we can do though.

Thanks for edits. I will read through the report and then make some additions. Appreciate your efforts. Recordfreenow (talk) 16:55, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Greenlight Capital

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Greenlight Capital requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

Edit warring comment

[edit]

Vvarkey, after Job dropped a message on my talk page regarding the edit warring, I've gone over the recent edits and the supporting refs, and found lots of problems. As I stated on Job's page, I'm getting very close to locking down the article until the situation is discussed calmly and resolved. I have told him that I expect no further mass edits, and instead I expect any changes to be proposed first on the talk page and discussed in a neutral and non-accusative fashion by all involved. Specifically what needs to be discussed is whether the proposed text accurately reflects the ref, and whether the ref meets the standard of reliability. As a regular here, I ask that you participate in a calm, civil fashion, and if others make accusations, that you don't respond. I'll take care of that. Thanks and good luck. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Farallon Capital, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

Rearranging the text from a verbatim copy-paste is not a substantial change. The article still uses copied sentences and phrases with only minor changes. You need to write the facts in your own words. Just as important, you should compile facts citing multiple reliable sources that are not connected to the subject. Company websites and press releases are not reliable sources. See the WP:CORP notability guideline for more information. • Gene93k (talk) 11:25, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am about to remove the above report - but will comment here and not there to spare your blushes. Firstly, WP:BLP does apply to talkpages - not only that of the subject, but any talkpage - so TheRingess is correct. Secondly, TheRingess has been an editor since 2005. Placing such an editor, because you don't like the refactoring of BLP violations, is inappropriate. Do not do it again. LessHeard vanU (talk) 21:12, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Credit Suisse/Tremont Hedge Fund Index, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring, as you did at 2012 Mangalore Homestay attack. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Bbb23 (talk) 14:43, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hello it looks like I made a good faith error in counting my reverts. I was consciously trying to stay at or below 3 reverts. I miscounted my fourth. Please see my history. I tried my best to keep the discussion civil. When my changes were bulk-reverted, I tried to put only the uncontroversial edits back, to no avail. Please note that another editor did atleast 6 bulk-reverts of my edits, inspite of my best efforts. I do feel I deserve another chance. This is I believe my first block in over 6 years of editing. vvarkey (talk) 15:46, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

3RR is not an entitlement to 3 perform reverts per day. Instead of reverting, discuss. If discussion doesn't help, use one of the dispute resolution venues. Edit warring is not a way to win a dispute, but a rather short way to lose it. Max Semenik (talk) 15:58, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Comment from blocking admin. Vvarkey, Max's point goes to the heart of the problem, but, in addition, I want to address your apparent misunderstanding of as to what constitutes a revert. Based on my count, you made 7 reverts. Please read WP:3RR carefully. If you have any questions, you can post them here, and I'll try to answer them, or you can wait until you come back from your block and post them on my Talk page.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:07, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bbb2 I really appreciate that you have taken the time to further explain. I dispute that count of 7 reverts. As you know, there were 4 undo's from my side. However, the others were a sincere effort to incorporate changes that the editor who undid my work was requesting. If you look through the history, the user was making bulk reverts. ie, he was reverting a half dozen changes at a time, with a complaint on one of them. I sincerely tried to incorporate his complaints, and put in the rest of the changes. I think this is evident from the history. Again, I appreciate your time and am aware admins are busier now than they were 6 years ago. But I do feel that equitable justice has not been done in my block. However, I am not keen on wasting more admin time by again appealing my block. With respect vvarkey (talk) 17:10, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) "Undoing other editors—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert." That means any change to the article, no matter what your motive, no matter what material, is a revert. Certainly in some instances motives and evidence of collaborative editing may be taken into account, but you brought a report against the other editor for battling with you. The truth of the matter is you battled, too, and each of those edits (or series of consecutive edits) constituted a revert. What you should have done was remain on the article Talk page and discuss the dispute without continuing to change the article at all. It would have been remarkably unfair for me to block the other editor, as I did, and not also block you. But what's more important is that you understand how you should handle these sorts of situations in the future, both for the improvement of whatever article you're working on, and to protect yourself against sanctions.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:21, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Bbb23, you are an asset to wikipedia and I look forward to working with you in the future. vvarkey (talk) 17:48, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adding reference to Wikipedia articles

[edit]
Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Hello Vvarkey! Please do not forget to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Adding a well formatted references is very easy to do.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "cite" click on it
  2. Then click on "templates",
  3. Choose the most appropriate template and fill as many details as you can,

This will add a well formatted reference that would be helpful in case the website link (web URL) becomes inactive (dead/link rot) after some time. You can read more about it on Help:Edit toolbar or see this video File:RefTools.ogv. thanks and regards --DBigXray 15:16, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the template from the article. First, the template is not supposed to be used directly. Second, the copyrighted text wasn't removed from the article (fairly important part of reporting a copyright violation). Because it was only one sentence that was copied, I reworded the sentence to avoid the problem, although, frankly, I had a bit of trouble understanding the source.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:32, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

THE FOLLOWING COMMENT BY SINCE-BANNED EX-ADMINISTRATOR WIFIONE HAS BEEN STRUCK, AS IT WAS MADE IN BAD FAITH.--Elvey(tc) 09:18, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition in the lede has a few issues. You have written "It has been alleged that IIPM engages in misleading advertising practices. It is by far the largest advertiser among Indian educational institutions." This goes against NPOV and also summarizes statements that are opinions. A better way to write this statement was what was there before in the lede. My suggestion would be that you should revert yourself and put the initial lead paragraph which was reached after extensive discussions on the talk page. Please read the talk page to understand how that lead was reached. Thanks. Wifione Message 14:45, 21 February 2013 (UTC) [reply]

there are problems with 2 links used earlier. one is foreign source sans translation. 2 is broken link. you're welcome to update my changes as you see fit. I do think some form of mention of the advertising situation is appropriate in the lede.

I'm ok with you removing statements if you feel there are no alternative citations available. For example, the Best B-school in Asia link has many alternate links, like [2], which you could have searched and put. So I have a two fold suggestion out here. First, you could perhaps change the top lede line to "IIPM has been involved in controversies with respect to its advertising." You could opt to not mention that IIPM is number one in advertising as that is a very dated and old data. Second, instead of placing it in the end of the lead (which makes it look NPOV), you could include it within the lead. Third, place back the statement of the Asia's Best B-school with the new reference. Thanks for the time. Wifione Message 14:57, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

congrats on the google-fu. i honestly did search for replacements, but did not find any. you can't tell me there are "many" alternative links. Anyhow, I think u'll agree the changes I've now made are a good compromise. regarding the number 1 advertiser, I've clarified with the word "historically".

I don't know why we're discussing all this on my talk page. We should have other input too. So if you wish to discuss further, i request you continue on the article talk page. Cheerio --vvarkey (talk) 16:54, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Last warning

[edit]

Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Total Siyapaa, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

In addition, your edits are not supported by reliably published sources, and the content you are inserting into the article doesn't even actually reflect the websites you are linking to, and even if it did, that content would not be appropriate for insertion in the lead. Ibnebatutaji (talk) 05:12, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please see my note on the talk page about the critical reception of Total Siyapaa. I don't think you've looked at the sources. Please review them so we can have a discussion on the talk page. --vvarkey (talk) 05:19, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Let other users respond to the talk page and wait for the consensus before you revert or edit war again. Cheers Ibnebatutaji (talk) 05:29, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
i request you to explain your revert on the talk page. the text i put is clearly in my source. as i explained on the talk page, the content you put back consists of broken links, duped articles and the 1 valid review which is already covered in my link. let us discus on the talk page. --vvarkey (talk) 05:33, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
i was editing a section that has nothing to do with this, and you've reverted all my changes again? please understand that you have no right to ban me from editing this page! --vvarkey (talk) 06:28, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Counter BLOCK WANING wont help only WP consensus on relevant talk page will get you any where. This is the last time you are being warned. Ibnebatutaji (talk) 06:32, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

thanks. i will refrain from editing. --vvarkey (talk) 06:51, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You may go through my edits and help in the process. Oh note that I am not asking you to refrain from editing, go ahead edit, make thousands of edits and be bold while doing so but refrain from edit-warring or undoing successively as you did in Total Siyapaa. It is disruptive in nature and may lead to a loss of editing privileges. If you need any help, give me a buzz. The article is a huge pile of shit now and needs butt-loads of work to be done. Lets fix those problems together, shall we? winkSoham (talk) 08:41, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of FTSE Global Equity Index Series

[edit]

The article FTSE Global Equity Index Series has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement. This proposed deletion was started by User:Piotrus
