Disambiguation link notification for October 6[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Old AfD tag On Article Junaidu Gambo Gurbin Bore[edit]

Hello Sir,thanks for alerting me to remain awake Just to contribute usefully To wikipedia Not To Act Like Mosquitor who will immediately leave as soon as he satisfy his need, i highly felt very interjected when i see your work {AfD tag} on the page i created previously Junaidu Gambo Gurbin Bore,i Know it is your responsibily {admin} to look for new created pages that Are to be checked Before Being Included in wikipedia And Delete some of the Articles for lacking Insignificant for the Reasons Of Publicalizing Oneself Or for the real person or some uselss organization that doesnt meet the requirment For wikipedia Article Guidline, I Know you alway trying the best to sort that out, the best from good and good From bad to clear the dust sprayed by some wikipedia users that act foolishly on wikipedia just as they think that wikipedia is just an easy task to handle,as i know it was not,and because of that i will like to apololigize for the mistake that i have made, because he that is not mistaken never tried something new,and of course you are not wrong for doing this, and i totally appreciate you and your work on wikipedia for your contribution to our country people and also their culture. As i made a mistake now i have learned alot from it and i will try to see that i never make such kind of mistake again. I hope i will be forgived like i know it is out of your Characters. Thanks a lot. Manadium (talk) 08:35, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Manadium, thanks for contributing to Wikipedia and your willingness to improve the encycopedia. I'm not an administrator and you have not in anyway offended me. I understand that you're new on Wikipedia and may probably not be familiar with our policies and guidelines for now. That is not an offence, you only need time to be familiar with them. The article, Junaidu Gambo Gurbin Bore you created doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability criteria and that is why it's been considered for deletion. A topic must have been the subject of multiple independent reliable sources to merit an encyclopedic article on Wikipedia. Although there are other guidelines aside, WP:GNG that must be met by an individual to have an article here. See WP:ACADEMIC, BASIC, WP:ANYBIO, WP:BIO, WP:NACTOR and soon. If you need any assistance on article creation, feel free to let me know, I will be glad to help. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 12:45, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A cup of tea for you![edit]

Take this cup of tea and relieve the stress. You are a promising editor and I hope that one day you'll pass. I hope that you won't be discouraged and take the comments made as constructive criticism. Regards, — Yash! Heyo!! Food!!! 19:44, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the cup of tea Yash. I won't allow that to discourage me and I will continue my good work here. Meanwhile, I appreciated your comments in that thread. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 20:30, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete denied[edit]

Wiki, I denied your speedy delete nomination of Hossein soleimani. The A10 should only be used for titles that can't plausibly be redirects. In this case, it's an obvious capitalization redirect, and so should be redirected instead of deleted. Happy editing, Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:39, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much, Oiyarbepsy. Capitalization redirect seeemed appropriate. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 02:48, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much MurderByDeadcopy. I won't allow that to discourage me and I will continue my good work here. Don't be far from me, we can always share ideas on how to improve this encyclopedia. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 06:15, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Future RfA[edit]

I encourage you to take to heart the positive input in the comments opposing you this time, and please recognize that many editors have become administrators on their second attempt. Abandon defensiveness, and work on your colloquial English expression, and I predict that you will succeed in a year or so. I am always happy to assist any editor with how to write in English in ways that other editors will read as natural. Warm wishes to you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:07, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much, Cullen328. Your inputs are always welcome. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 07:17, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Friendly feedback: "Your input is always welcomed" is the standard way of expressing this thought. "Input" is almost always singular, and very rarely plural. Standard colloquial English does not always come easily. Ask questions on my talk page at any time. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 08:08, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Cullen. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 08:36, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I second Cullen's comments. A number of admins failed in their first attempt (I did) but were OK on their second or third. What is important to the community is that users, especially prospective admins, learn from their experience and move forward. I see that you have already learned something, and are moving forward. I am pleased about that. Though you haven't yet dealt with this: User:Wikicology/Mosquitoes.
One of the first cases I was involved in when I was a member of ArbCom, was the case of someone who had been editing the Transcendental Meditation and related articles. An admin discovered that he was removing negative material. The admin researched the user, and found he was connected to the Transcendental Meditation movement, so he got Jimbo to ban him from Wikipedia. It's worth reading the case in full, as that "mosquito" was unbanned, and the admin was desysopped and banned: Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/TimidGuy ban appeal. All users who contribute to the project are welcomed, and we shouldn't put barriers in their way, nor call other well intentioned users nasty names. It is part of the core policies of Wikipedia that it is the encyclopaedia that all are welcomed to edit; and that we assist and are civil to other users, particularly new users who are not yet familiar with all our policies and procedures. The Foundation wants new users. It is concerned that the number of genuinely active content creators is dropping. It feels that the interface is part of the problem (difficult to learn), but also that some members of the community are too hostile and incivil.
I note that you do outreach work. And we want more contributors from places like Nigeria. So I want to help and support you, which is why I am willing to take some time with you. That, and the evidence you have shown that you are willing and able to learn.
It may assist you in moving forward if you showed a willingness to assist more, and hassle less. In your well meaning efforts to protect the project you are sometimes over-stepping the mark. You seemed in the RfA to forget your treatment of User:Cruks, and that's part of the issue - you seem to not be aware of how unpleasant you can be. Look back on what you say here about a good faith editor trying to build an article who was inappropriately reverted by you twice: the link you replace is to a deleted article - did you look before reverting?, you remove important and defining sourced information. When he reached out to you to discuss the issue, you were hostile and rude: User_talk:Wikicology/2015/August#Your_revert_on_List_of_Nigerian_billionaires_by_net_worth.
My question regarding closing the AfD is quite subtle, and there are a variety of responses that you could have given. The ones you gave were not the most ideal. Try to be less mechanical, and think about what would be most helpful to everyone concerned. Thinking about this, and coming up with a better solution would assist you greatly in moving forward both as a Wikipedia user, and as a prospective admin.
Finally, as regards you wanting to be "anonymous for security reasons". Are you aware that someone clicking on your userpage picture will get to a link to other Wiki projects where you give your real name and some background information. If you want to remain anonymous you need to do something about that.
It may also be worth clarifying your status as a "lecturer at Adekunle Ajasin University" as said by your nominator, as what you indicate elsewhere is that you studied there as a postgrad student, not that you lecture there.
If you need any help or advice now or in the future, please contact me. I am willing to help you, and I will be honest with you at all times. SilkTork ✔Tea time 12:28, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your kind gesture and your willingness to help, SilkTork. The section, "Who am I" on my user page had been there long before I decided to declare my identity. It has never occur to me that the section need to be modified, following the declaration. See User:Wikicology now. I'd also like to say that I've never said in any Wiki that I'm a Postgraduate Student at Adekunle Ajasin University. The University is my alma-mater and now my place of work. I care deeply about Wikipedia and other sister's projects and will never intentionally cause harm to any of these projects. It seems that User:Wikicology/Mosquitoes is also sending a wrong signal, I flagged it for deletion already. I've really learned a lot from my unsuccessful RFA and will never repeat the same mistakes. I will not hesitate to ask you for assistance at anytime. It's really a blessing to have awesome editor like you around. Cheers! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 14:28, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
