In regard to David Bale, I did attempt to improve the article during the AfD period, but apparently nobody noticed or submitted any new recommendations before the AfD was closed. Because the article was improved after all the "delete" recommendations had been submitted, I would appreciate it if you would reopen the AfD and relist it for an additional 5 days. Thanks for your consideration. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:10, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

I am uncertain regarding standard mediation procedure, but it seems to me the other user i was having a conflict with at the Neocatechumenal Way page has not responded in almost a month so i would consider the issue closed at this moment. Ncwfl (talk) 06:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching

Hi, I am looking for an admin coach and being that you listed yourself at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Status as an admin coach who was able to take two students and that you currently have no students. And because of that I was wondering if you would like to/will be be my admin coach? Thanks in advance and All the Best, --Mifter (talk) 19:17, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I have 2 students already, Richard0612 right now, and when I get a chance, Legoktm. Soxred 93 00:18, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

RFRBot and "not dones"

One change St47 made shortly before his bot stopped working was to change the edit summary when removing a declined request to "not done" (as some users were confused (see User talk:RFRBot#Rollback bug). can you implement that change into SB X? cheers, –xenocidic (talk) 21:04, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:59, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

My apologies, I wasn't aware that a change like that would cause the bot to not function properly. Futhermore, I didn't know which bot was doing the archiving. But in any case, I am sorry. Artichoker[talk] 14:08, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

SoxBot X

Can you perhaps task it to move processes requests to something like Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Proc , and then archive them after the 24 hour period, rather than leaving them in the individual subpages for 24 hours as it is now? –xeno (talk) 17:24, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Also, is there any way for the bot to indicate which right was granted to an archived "done" user? (Should be easy enough to see what right was decline to the notdone's). –xeno (talk) 17:41, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
What's this about 24 hours? It archives every 30 minutes... Soxred 93 20:10, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
People wanted the requests to stay up a while longer for transparency, see Wikipedia talk:PERM#Time acted upon requests should remain before archive. (I thought you had already changed this, but it was just an illusion from when the bot got broken). –xeno (talk) 20:12, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

RFA Thanks

Thank you for participating in my RfA, Soxred93!
I am grateful for your confidence: My RfA passed by a count of 64/3/3, so I am now an administrator! Of course, I plan to conduct my adminship in service of the community, so I believe the community has a right to revoke that privilege at any time. Thus, I will be open for recall under reasonable circumstances. If you have any advice, complaints, or concerns for me, please let me know. Thanks again! continuation of the archived thread... I noticed X hasn't edited in a few days, and was wondering if it was down and/or if you had a chance to implement the changes asked for at WT:RFPERM ? –xeno (talk) 18:12, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

k. Template was just tweaked by the way, if it makes a difference. –xeno (talk) 01:28, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I just noticed that you added a notice to the template after I had added another parameter to it, even though I had made my edit before you added the notice, I still thought I would add a notice here so that you can edit your bots script to notice the change, I added another parameter to the template to specify the right that is being requested, eg. {{rfp|USER|RIGHT REQUESTED|REASON PERMISSION IS DESIRED}} instead of {{rfp|USER|REASON PERMISSION IS DESIRED}}. If you have any questions about the change feel free to ask me :). All the Best :), --Mifter (talk) 02:49, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Need clarity about usernames

Hello,

I requested to change my username here and your bot found edits by the new username and said no can do. I think this problem may have been caused by my typing in the incorrect username in the Interwiki userboxes on my Wikiquote page. (I've since corrected it.)

Is there some way I can find out if edits made by DBlomgren are mine? And if so, is there some way to "merge" the edits by Dblomgren and DBlomgren under the account DBlomgren? DBlomgren (talk) 19:10, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Fistly, wikiquote has nothing to do with it. I think the reason it said your username has edits is because you made the request with DB, not Db. There is no way to merge the accounts. However, you can go to WP:USURP, and request that your account is renamed to DB. Hope this helps. Soxπed93(blag) 21:28, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Eddie Collins (Soldier)

The article listed was deleted with haste and no proposals for its deletion were submitted to the talk page. I suggest you revert the page to its original state and then point out areas of complaint so as to improve the item (Archangel1 (talk) 01:30, 27 July 2008 (UTC)).

Very rarely is deletion ever pointed out on the talk page. Even though there were references to suggest some notability, when I went to them, I got 404 errors on all 3 pages, so I decided that he was not a notable person. If you would like, I can put the article into userspace, so you can fix it. Soxπed93(blag) 02:27, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes. Put it there and I'll attempt to sort any issues (Archangel1 (talk) 01:05, 29 July 2008 (UTC)).

 Done at User:Archangel1/Eddie Collins. Soxπed93(blag) 01:07, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

SoxBot IV

Just curious as to what triggers the bot to reset the template sandbox. I was making some tests at Template:X5 and it was reverting me fairly quickly. Am I removing a line that cause the bot to do that? This isn't a complaint about the bot just wanted to know so I could avoid doing it again. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

If you defined parameters such as <tt><nowiki>{{Template sandbox|First|Second|name="Named"}}</tt>:

;Name:{{{name}}}

Help Desk

To help others who put Helpme on thier page do you just watch the Category:Wikipedians looking for help, page? (CAT:HM). I also noticed that there is no process to join the help page patrol. About how many helps is the general rule of thumb for adding the "hpp" code to your user page? Etineskid (talk) 14:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

For {{helpme}}, you can either watch CAT:HM or the irc://irc.freenode.net/wikipedia-en-help IRC channel, which gets bot notifications of users in CAT:HM. And you can join the help desk patrol (assuming you mean that) whenever you want. There really isn't any requirement (other than that you help, and often).
