Referencing errors on Disk image[edit]

Hi there - it looks like the error has been fixed in this edit. Template:Cite web doesn't take bare URLs; the "http://" or "https://" in a URL needs to be included, or it returns an error. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 05:51, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

contacts missing[edit]

An article that needs some fixing: Safesearch[edit]

Hi everyone, I recently ran into the SafeSearch article and I think it needs a bit of a fix. While I see the need of making an article long enough so that it won't end up as a stub, the current version of this article is too biased to be in a neutral point of view. After a brief single sentence description, the next paragraph is a long criticism along, gives the reader an alternative choice, then another paragraph of criticism. I'm not really sure how I can go about fixing this, so all I can think of is suggesting moving it with a bigger google-related article. --Jeevies (talk) 03:38, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In this instance I'm not so sure there is a problem with the sourced content's tone or existence but rather it only feels unbalanced because other descriptive content we would expect to be ultimately included were this article more developed has not yet been added. In other words, the way I look at it, this short article needs content additions and not necessarily any removal of what's present. That process you can boldly help with of course. A search of Google Books and News indicates there's lots of sources to mine.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 08:27, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding on Fuhghettaboutit's answer, if you do come across an article that needs major improvement in an area, you can consider tagging it with the respective cleanup tag. I agree with Fuhghettaboutit's assessment of the article though, and I don't think this article deserves a tagging. Redirection to mobile wikipedia on ipad[edit]

Suddenly I get redirected on my ipad to this bloody mobile version of wikipedia. You should stop this. I don' need the mobile version on iPad, i can zoom. I don't want the mobile version, I can make my own choices. Thank you for the strongly worded feedback, but alas, the mobile version isn't going anywhere. Mobile sites are the norm, and most readers support it.

If you want to revert back to the desktop view, you can do so at the bottom of every page. I'm not sure about other browsers, but Google Chrome's mobile browser lets you select an option that always loads the desktop version of websites. (edit conflict) I feel I should point out that the people that patrol this page are not the ones who make the decision on these things. And secondly, if you'd like to switch back to the desktop version, there is a link at the bottom of the page. OP stated "I don't keep cookies" so that is not saved. Many other mobile browsers also do support desktop view, so that is probably the best option which I can also think of. . --Glaisher 17:43, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Incorrect Hours and Days for the RV/MH Hall of Fame[edit]

We have recently noticed that you have posted the incorrect hours of operations for the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart IN. We have always been open on Mon-Sat 9am to 5pm. Last year we extended our days to include Sundays from March thru October. Sunday hours are 10am to 3 pm. Please correct your records on your website immediately. We have lost many visitors because of your mistake!

Err - as far as I can see, we don't list any opening hours for RV/MH Hall of Fame - neither right ones, nor wrong ones, so we can't change anything.

Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information, but Google's Knowledge Graph has a "Feedback" link where anyone can mark a field as wrong. - Arjayay (talk) 18:26, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think an "Hours" field in Google's Knowledge Graph is usually copied from Google+ where your page [1] also says closed Saturday and Sunday when I click a link in the "Contact Information" box. Change it there if you have access. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:51, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The place to request an article is WP:RA. I am writing because I am the owner of unbrokenheart, it is a sterling silver broken heart, mended completely by hand with a strand of 14k gold. I would love to have it included on Wikipedia, however I don't know if it is appropriate since it is obviously a retail product. I believe it is unique, in that it has been created to truly help others overcome a broken heart of any kind, and in that it has been in business for over 10 years, and mended over 10,000 broken hearts in that time. The unique aspect is that each one is truly mended by hand, only after it is ordered, and as difficult as it is sometimes to mend each one, we will never change that component of the unbrokenheart. Hello, Catherine. To expand what PrimeHunter has said, its status as a retail product does not prevent Wikipedia having an article on it, but neither does its humanitarian aim guarantee one. The criterion is solely whether reliable sources, independent of the subject (such as major newspapers or books from reputable publishers) have written at length about the the subject. Writing about an organisation or a product which has not already been noticed in this way looks very much like promotion, which is forbidden on Wikipedia, however worthy the cause. --ColinFine (talk) 08:17, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I have nominated the article for deletion, not because you disagree with it, but because I cannot find any substantial independent references to it, so it fails our criteria for notability. If others find sources and contest the deletion, and the deletion discussion ends up with a result of 'keep', then you should make any suggestions for improvement on the article's talk page. By the way, your username breaks Wikipedia's rules on usernames by suggesting affiliation to an organisation.
