How do I merge two tables into one?[edit]

There are two tables on Hitomi Nakamichi that I would like to merge into one. How would I do this? My attempts end up with either a really small second table or removing it from the page (thank goodness for the preview function). Thanks Red Fiona (talk) 00:52, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible to watch/RSS subscribe to only part of a page[edit]

I sometimes only want to monitor and be notified of changes on parts of a wikipedia page. For example, I opened a dispute on the resolution noticeboard and would like to be notified via my watchlist and/or an RSS/Atom feed of any changes to a particular dispute. However it appears that if I watch or subscribe to the RSS feed for the dispute resolution page I will be notified of changes related to all the different disputes on the page--not just the one I am interested in. Can't this be done by Wikipedia:Transclusion somehow? Sections of a page can be grabbed (transcluded) from other pages. If you watch the source page of the Transclusion and not the destination that would do what you want? Note the "Composite Page" section of the aforesaid link of which here is an extract:-

"each component page and the composite page are treated separately. While the actual changes on the component pages will be transcluded onto the composite page, the edit history, recent changes, page-watch settings, page protection, TOC, "what links here" links, and other features of the composite page do not reflect, or affect, the histories, watch settings, protection levels, what links here lists of the component pages. Also, I imagine the IT guys could redesign how wikipedia works so that ALL sections were contained in their own separate page and aggregated into composite articles but a) it would cost money to make such a change and b) there would be a slight increase in required storage space for Wikipedia's content and a slight decrease in performance of Wikipedia's speed which would necessitate an upgrade in the server processing power i.e., the more functionality that is built into wikipedia the more its running costs. to save a page to view it offline[edit]

Add a new line using "Search and replace"?[edit]

Do you mean inserting something with newline characters after clicking "Advanced" in

and then the Search and replace icon to the right? I have also wanted newlines in the replace text but not found a direct way to do it. Only the Search field can be treated as regex so \n is not changed to a newline in the Replace field. I found a cumbersome way for my purpose: Use regex to capture a newline somewhere in the search field with (\n), and insert it in both its original position and new wanted positions with $1.
