Edits to original article on Maharajbag Zoo, Nagpur, India

[edit]

I noticed some very old and outdated facts, making up what would presently be a rather distorted, one-sided report, which I am trying to update. As first step, I have carried out some deletes.

Re assistance William M Cooley

[edit]

Hi :Robert McClenon, I did not want to even come back to this page after all the negative responses, but I did. Your question was valid and not negative. Just to clarify I am not requesting for the Sandbox to be restored as I realized it did not fit Wiki standards. I will most likely ask for assistance from an editor, and remove anything that contains any "fringe", and write an article that focuses strictly on the Architect William M Cooley and his work. As per the user stating that there is a 2-year-old legal threat - that is absurd. I did not know Wikipedia guidelines when I wrote that. I was in shock at being called so many names by :JohnCD. I think my reaction was one of human nature. It was just a sanbox and had been there for quite sometime. It was when people, and authours started copying and pasting on the internet that :JohnCD and the user who worked at Bohemian Grove Club were alerted and took it down 4 years later. I have since done my research, reading and watching videos of the founder of Wikipedia, and his philosophy. I fully understand that was a big no-no in "Wikiworld." There does NOT exist two-year legal threat. Whoever wrote that is just stirring the pot. I have read the rules and now fully understand them. I just want to write an article that fits Wiki standards. That is all. No more , no less. Kindest Regards Blue shakti711 (talk) 05:18, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, what article did you edit? Did you use a different account to post it? If yes, then please tell us the other account so that I can look at the article. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 05:36, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That would be Blue Shakti. The legal threat was placed by an IP, 50.0.172.159, which the Shakti admits above to have been himself. --Orange Mike | Talk 06:40, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Orangemike. I just saw similar threads above by the same editor. I had a look at the article as well and unfortunately I don't think it should be restored, as it would be misuse of Wikipedia as a web host. (See this). I am doubtful if the article subject is notable enough as well. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 07:00, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Blue shakti711 It would be best if you don't make any more legal threats from now on. I understand that it happened 2 years ago and you edited using an IP. Going forward, please use only stick to this account. If you want to create an article, please read our policies on verifiability and NPOV first and decide if the article subject is notable. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 07:00, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi :LemonGirl :OrangeMike Thank you will do as advised. I think it is notable, that is just my opinion though. However, Wikipedia has the final word. I shall abide by that. There are many people that worked with Cooley that have mentions and entries. To respond to your question - I did not use the same user account as :JohnCD deleted my account as well when he gave me the warning.. Just re-registered with a similar username, which might have led to the confusion. I suppose William M Cooley architect could be considered a person from history with the "right to be forgotten." https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/aug/06/wikipedia-censorship-right-to-be-forgotten-ruling If the entry does not get approval - or not considered noteworthy I shall respect Wiki's opinion. I will just write elsewhere. That being said I will do my best, and shall probably get editorial assistance and try to make a proper article that abides by Wiki standars. Also, I am confused as to why the conclusion that I am a he? Best wishes to all. Thank you for the advice and interest. I hope I have answered any questions anyone had. It says on this page to be careful and no put email addresses or anything personal that can identify people. I am just a little taken back by posting the IP addy on an open forum, but it is o.k. No offense taken. Kind Regards Blue shakti711 (talk) 04:35, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@::LemonGirl Thank you will do. Thank you for being kind and helpful.

:Robert McClenon I don't think I have been combative, just looking for guidance and advice. I am sorry if it appeared that way. I was just worried about being called abusive names if I were to try to get a new article submitted.I was just so taken aback at the amount of mean words used against me by the people that removed the sandbox. I went through many of his removals and never saw such verbiage. There is no legal threat. Also having my ( IP ), and please this is not directed to you, :JohnCD is located in the UK. He might lack of knowledge about reciprocity laws. So any legal threat, which I apologize for, would not have held any water at all as IPs are from different countries. Also, I was not a citizen of said IP addy when I overreacted without knowing Wiki guidelines. Thank you all, and thank you to the people in chat and here whom assisted Regards Blue shakti711 (talk) 04:57, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Help with logging in to existing account - wont let me advised to use different URL - what does that mean

[edit]

Trying to get back into an article for a client, Log In using https://en.wikipedia.org? which has been rejected in order to edit and change where necessary - and have tried to log in using the account name and passcode they have given me but its not letting me - says incorrect password but its not. The job needs to be done and client uncontactable at present - apparently I can get in possibly using a different URL. What does that mean? Can anybody help please. Currently usinghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page213.123.197.88 (talk) 10:27, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is your account name? And, please, read Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest. Ruslik_Zero 10:34, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let me see if I understand this. You have been hired by someone to edit an article. They had a username and password and gave you the information to log in and work on the article. The system is not letting you log in. can you tell us what article you have been hired to edit and the username that the client has given you to use? -- GB fan 10:37, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
However, if GB fan's summary is correct, then you and your client are in danger of breaking several of Wikipedia's rules. Paid editing is discouraged, and if you do it, you must declare the fact as specified in that link. Accounts may not be shared: you need to create a personal one, separate from your client's account. If we have an article about your client, it does not belong to your client, and neither they nor you have any control over its content. Either of you are welcome to make suggestions for improving the article, on the article's talk page (preferably with citations to reliably published sources), but you are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly. --ColinFine (talk) 14:23, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Quentin Carnaille

[edit]

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a small issue on the page : Quentin carnaille

I would like that the name "Quentin Carnaille" appear with a capital "C". How can I do ?

Thank you.

Antoine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AntoineMunch (talkcontribs) 14:46, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is handled by doing a move to the correct title. It looks like someone moved it to the correct capitalization but then moved it to draft space (or it was already a redirect to a draft.) RJFJR (talk) 17:08, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki page for my friend

Hi, My friend is an important person and many newspapers have covered his story. I want to create a page for you. Can you please help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ravighy (talkcontribs) 15:06, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ravighy, what's your friends name and what do they do? You may wish to read through this guide and, if you still believe your friend is notable enough, you can use the wizard to get started. Referencing errors on Electronic Data Systems

[edit]

Reference help requested. Hello - I received an error message indicating I made a citation error, but I never edited that entry...so I don't know what's up. I edited a listing of sci-fi cons to add one entry. Can anyone explain why I got this error, and eliminate it? Thanks, 96.39.52.226 (talk) 15:10, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you read the message on your user talk page you'll see that it is dated March 2014. There is a further message saying: "This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address." --David Biddulph (talk) 15:43, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia

[edit]

I recently edited Wikipedia to try to add a source to a note and it has created an error that says that a ref tag is missing the closing ref. I've tried to fix it but have been unsuccessful. If someone could fix it that would be great. Everymorning (talk) 17:51, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, eMail address and mobile No. have been removed per the notice at the top of this page. Unfortunately, Wikipedia does not exist for persons, however successful or notable they may be, to write an article about themselves, or any subject with which they have a close association. It is not akin to a form of social media but an encyclopedia which relies on authors/editors to create pages in respect of persons who pass Wiki's quite stringent rules on notability. To do so the editors must be independent of the subject and will use information obtained from independent reliable sources which clearly demonstrate that the subject is worthy of inclusion. Please see WP:RS and WP:COI for more information. Please sign your posts on talk-pages by typing four tides (~~~~). Eagleash (talk) 19:36, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
