Posted on wrong page and lost all my work[edit]

I had an assignment for school that I had to complete. This assignment was to create or edit a Wikipedia page. I made a new page that had the main headline as "Seaweed Biofuel". I wrote my article on the main page of Wikipedia, and when I posted it, I thought that it would be like any other article. Instead, when I tried to search it up, I realized that I had posted on the wrong page. Is there anybody who can help me recover my work so that I can post it on the proper place?

I don't have an account, but I will keep this page on.

Hello, IP user. I'm sorry that you have been given a school assignment without being given the resources and knowledge to know how to start it. Creating a new article is difficult, and is subject to all of Wikipedia's policies whether or not it is done as a school assignment: please have a look at your first article to get an idea of the scale of the task. I see that you have included some references in your text, which is good; but what you have written reads like an essay, not an encyclopaedia article, and so would not be acceptable as a Wikipedia article as it stands. Moreover, it is not clear to me that this is a topic which merits a separate article: I would think it should be added to the existing article Biofuel. (Other editors may disagree with me).

Please have a look at WP:Education program; and if your teacher really gave you so little direction as is suggested by your actions, please ask your teacher to look at that as well. --ColinFine (talk) 16:53, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think it would be worth adding that link to the "Other areas" section on the main page? Student projects are quite common these days but I can see why somebody would be lost coming to Wikipedia for the first time. It would make sense to have a simple access point. Washington DC[edit]

Hello, I want to download the article about Washington DC but the file is lost or deleted. When we could regenerate the article, then it would be possible to download again the article we are interested in. My question is now: how can we regenerate a article?

When you click the download as PDF option, there's a "Force re-rendering" link on the following page. First try downloading it again, if that doesn't work try the Force re-rendering option. - X201 (talk) 15:19, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an approvable site[edit]

I have tried to create a page for Sharon Carry, past president and CEO of Bow Valley College but it was never approved and I am unsure why.

Please advise what needs to be done to create a page that will not be denied.

The link Sharon Carry shows the reasons why the article has twice been deleted. The draft Draft:Sharon Carry includes an explanation from the reviewer as to why the current draft was declined. Nikola Tesla[edit]

1. Nikola tesla was born in CROATIAN village Smiljan....NOT Serbian or Austrian,,,,
2.His Mother Djuka was born in Gracac village in Croatia,,,,
3.And his father Milutin born in Lika, Croatia also,,,,so how you present him like Serbian.....????? Is this some Serbian inventions this wikipedia??? PLZ be realistic people...

Let us first give a very rough sketch of the main historical periods of the Croatia's past:

the arrival of the Croats to the Balkan peninsula at the beginning of the 7th century,
the period of Croatian Dukes and Kings of native birth (until 1102),
Croatia sharing with Hungary a new state under common Hungarian and Croatian Kings (1102-1526),
Croatia ruled by the Habsburgs, as a member of the Habsburg Crown (1527-1918, Austro Hungarian Empire from 1867 to 1918), parts of Croatia under Venice, Turkish Ottoman Empire and France,
Croatia in the first Yugoslavia (1918-1941),
The Independent State of Croatia (1941-1945),
Croatia as a republic in Tito's (or second) Yugoslavia (1945-1991),
internationally recognized Republic of Croatia (January 1992).

Nikola Tesla mentions three times that he was born in modern day Croatia, but there was no independent Croatia at the time. See Talk:Nikola Tesla/Nationality and ethnicity and its many archives for extensive discussions. He is also listed at Wikipedia:Lamest edit wars#Nikola Tesla.
