In 1948, Paul Newman stared in EXODUS. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:B340:6540:A518:8D80:77BE:BA2D (talk) 09:42, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, Paul Newman and Paul Newman filmography correctly says he starred in Exodus (1960 film). It is set in 1947 and 1948 but he was in college then. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:11, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Need to move a page[edit]

Dear English wikipedians, I need to move a page I created in my sandbox to its actual title, however, although I have much more than 10 days and 4 edits in it.wiki, I think some parts of my editor are still locked in en.wiki, so I cannot move it to the correct title, how can I move it? --Life'n'death (talk) 10:21, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Life'n'death: Hello, if you consider it is ready for mainspace, you can place {{subst:submit}} at the top of the page. The page will then be submitted for review. You could also ask that it be moved to draftspace if you prefer, so that you can continue to work on it. Eagleash (talk) 10:31, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Eagleash: Ok, thanks, if it's such a long process I'll finish editing it and then I'll require the submission! --Life'n'death (talk) 10:36, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is odd, though. You are WP:AUTOCONFIRMed and should be able to do it yourself. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:55, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Life'n'death: You need 4 days and 10 edits at the English Wikipedia to be autoconfirmed here. The first question was your fifth edit but you have now passed 10. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:58, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I guessed it, but I didn't know how to submit the page, and I didn't see any point in making edits just to get the 10 edits (now that I have them it is not anymore an issue), furthermore it is a good way to learn how it works so... Thanks a lot for your help! --Life'n'death (talk) 08:12, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

119.56.88.68 What kind of phone are you using? What program are you using to view the site? Are you using the official app, a web browser (e.g. FireFox, Chrome), or a third-party app? Ian.thomson (talk) 17:21, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Timed Text not appearing[edit]

I recently added a video to Brock Long after uploading the video to Commons. On the Commons page, I created a TimedText page with English captions for the video, and when I play the video on commons the captions appear. But when I attempt to show the subtitles here on en.wikipedia, the captions do not appear. The captions menu says "no text tracks available", and when I click on "add subtitles" I am taken to the same commons page where I created the TimedText entry, with my text appearing. I have tried a hard refresh, and even a different computer to avoid cache issues, but that isn't changing anything. What am I missing? MarginalCost (talk) 17:31, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@MarginalCost: I have purged Brock Long. This fixed it. Pages are cached when they are edited and you created commons:TimedText:Brock Baton Rouge cut 1.webm.en.srt after this caching. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:53, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I learned something today! Thanks PrimeHunter MarginalCost (talk) 00:07, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect Til Death Do Us Part disambiguation[edit]

I have created a new page Til Death Do Us Part (disambiguation) and I would like to remove the redirect of "Til Death Do Us Part" from the page Till Death Do Us Part. How can I do this? Thank you! MissTofATX (talk) 21:18, 3 June 2018 (UTC)MissTofATX[reply]

You shouldn't. You've duplicated entries that are already on the "Till" page because of a minor spelling variation (except for one or two that don't belong on either and have been deleted). The simplest solution, IMO, is to redirect Til Death Do Us Part (disambiguation) to Till Death Do Us Part. Clarityfiend (talk) 23:01, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @MissTofATX: See Help:Redirect#Creating and editing redirects. But I'm afraid I disagree with it here. Spelling variations are generally kept on the same disambiguation page like color and colour on Color (disambiguation), since readers will often not know the used spelling. Til Death Do Us Part with one l in Til should continue to redirect to Till Death Do Us Part, and Til Death Do Us Part (disambiguation) should not be a separate disambiguation page. It could redirect to Till Death Do Us Part where it appears you copied all the entries from. I have mentioned the alternative spelling in the lead.[1] PrimeHunter (talk) 23:08, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I left the entries on the Till Death Do Us Part until I figured out how to/or got help to fix the redirect I requested above. I was going to remove the duplicates as soon as I confirmed the change. MissTofATX (talk) 23:17, 3 June 2018 (UTC)MissTofATX[reply]
