Heyatyar News Agency[edit]

Hello friends on Wikipedia, why not create or edit a page for (Heyatyar News Agency)?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Askiphelp (talkcontribs) 24 April 2021 00:22 (UTC)

Askiphelp, is it notable enough to warrant its own article? —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:52, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Approval[edit]

Hi! How can I monitor the approval status of a re-submission? Thanks!— Preceding unsigned comment added by TAH0916 (talkcontribs)

Hello @TAH0916: and welcome to the Help desk. As before, you will be notified on your user talkpage when your submission is reviewed, no matter what the outcome is. You can also add the submission to your watchlist. You have to regularely check your watchlist though. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~. Or, you can use the [ reply ] button, which automatically signs posts.) Victor Schmidt (talk) 04:32, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
TAH0916, you can check the submission template where it says "Improving your odds of a speedy review", that can help. However, Draft:Van Romaine, your WP:BLP, (read that page if you haven't) largely lacks inline references, and will probably be declined unless you fix that. If you can't ref it, don't include it, WP:ISAWIT is no good. Also check WP:PEACOCK. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:06, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Senior Users using Online Tools to Verify Articles[edit]

Many users hereby are using free online tools to identify the authenticity or verifiability of the articles which I believe therefore, I request the team to please have a look at these users and try to curb this as sometimes these online tools might not be able to verify which links or citations are apt or which are not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritwik909190 (talkcontribs) 04:51, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

These tools sound useful. Can you provide a list?
More seriously – if you want someone to respond to your request, you'll need to provide at least one example of the behaviour you complain of. Otherwise, it's hard for anyone to know what it is you want. Maproom (talk) 07:41, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ritwik909190: If you're talking about Draft:Vikas Rawat, you've misunderstood what's going on.
Users are going to that draft and seeing that:
-There are not enough sources to meet our general notability guideline
-The sources are not independent
-The sources do not mention Vikas Rawat!
They are then using a tool to leave you a message. That message tells you what you need to do to fix the draft. If you read it and followed the instructions, you'd know what the problem is. Ian.thomson (talk) 07:48, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Eid al-Fitr[edit]

I stumbled upon a cry for help that was made only minutes ago. If you read the first paragraph of this article, sandwiched in is “I need help” the page was last edited minutes ago. I’m not tech savvy , nor am I sure even if I were that I could figure anything out about who needs help, but perhaps someone at Wikipedia can trace the IP address or something. Please try. My prayers to the poor soul.

Based on the 2 edits from that IP [1] on that article, I think they meant "help with editing". Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:11, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of pages that use a particular template[edit]

Is it possible to get a list of all pages on which a particular template is used? TheMrP (talk) 07:12, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TheMrP I think so. Go to for example Template:Citation needed and choose the "What links here" link on the left. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:22, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@TheMrP: Click "Hide links" and "Hide redirects" to hide pages which only link to or redirect to the template. You can also use hastemplate: in the search box, e.g. hastemplate:"Citation needed" This can be combined with other search options. Only mainspace (articles) are searched by default. Click "Search in" on the results page to choose all or other namespaces. PrimeHunter (talk) 09:33, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Cite legal judgement[edit]

Yo HelpDeskers, hoping all is well here. Do you know if we have something like this, or what the nearest thing to it might be? Cheers, ——Serial 09:14, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Serial Number 54129: There is {{Cite court}} and some more specific in Category:Law citation templates. PrimeHunter (talk) 09:24, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Crikey, thanks PrimeHunter, that's great: I'm sure I'll find something in that lot! ——Serial 09:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Page Disappeared[edit]

The Wikipedia page about website buildtheenterprise.org disappeared. The buildtheenterprise.org website went off-line for a while, and perhaps that triggered Wikipedia software to automatically take down the Wikipedia page. But that is only a guess.

Please restore the Wikipedia page about website buildtheenterprise.org.— Preceding unsigned comment added by SpaceWork7 (talkcontribs)

SpaceWork7 I know of nothing that "automatically" takes down articles; Wikipedia isn't built that way. Build the Enterprise was deleted per the result of this deletion discussion. 331dot (talk) 16:15, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to what 331dot said above, there appears to still exist auserspace draft at User:Marcooooos/Build the Enterprise. Perhaps if you think the concerns expressed in the deletion discussion can be addressed by editing, you can use that draft as a launch point. That said, I would recommend taking any revised article through articles for creation to ensure someone neutral agrees that the concerns from the prior AFD have been sufficiently addressed before moving a revised article back to mainspace. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:23, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That draft is now gone, deleted as promotional. Drmies (talk) 16:53, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Search contributions[edit]

Is there a way to see if an editor has ever typed in a specific word in any name space? For instance, could you check to see if I had ever used the word "Auburn"? Thanks, Drmies (talk) 16:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds like something for the nerds over at WP:VPT. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:36, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Translation Page Publishing[edit]

I want to know how can my translated page be ready to be viewed by public? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shatbhisha6 (talkcontribs) 16:45, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shatbhisha6, try this link: WP:SUBMIT. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:54, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked users[edit]

Today I was blocked and then unblocked. Can users who have been blocked at least once have prejudices? Dr Salvus 17:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus: I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you mean by Can users who have been blocked at least once have prejudices? – could you explain in a little more detail? Blablubbs|talk 17:34, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) yeah, this is too vague to really be answerable. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:35, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reading your answers I realized that there are no prejudices to Wikipedians that have been blocked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr Salvus (talkcontribs) 17:45, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dr Salvus. Reading your question and your answer, I'm guessing that you mean "Are there any formal or procedural limitation imposed on editors who have been blocked?" We don't use "prejudice" in this way in English,so your question was not understood. The only likely meaning of "have prejudices" is "hold judgmental attitudes towards somebody or something". --ColinFine (talk) 19:01, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ColinFine: This is what I meant Dr Salvus 19:24, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How long does it take to complete the WP: CVUA? Dr Salvus 18:31, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus: It depends on each instructor and student, could be a few weeks or a few months, but one of the most important things is that there is no rush—you learn the concepts most effectively when you take the time to carefully go through each exercise and make sure you really understand everything that's going on. If someone races through CVUA just so they can say that they've completed the program, it defeats the purpose. DanCherek (talk) 18:54, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from 13 April for protected template[edit]

Kia ora, I made this edit request on 13 April but I'm not sure if it has even been looked at. Is someone here that has the right permissions able to have a look, I had assumed it was a simple edit. NZFC(talk)(cont) 20:11, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@NZFC: According to Wikipedia:User_access_levels#Template_editor only 194 users have the template editor user right, so it may take some time before your request is answered. There are several requests older than yours, so you are not the only one waiting. Please be patient. RudolfRed (talk) 20:20, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Rudolf, wasn't aware of those numbers. Will keep waiting and editing other things in the meantime.NZFC(talk)(cont) 20:24, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cannot edit/Create[edit]

Hello, I am sorry that when i'm sending this it's a bit late. I just am a bit confused. When I wanted to write a new page it wouldn't let me because it says it's blocked but no one else edits on it or adds content on it because it doesn't exist yet. I hope you are all right and can figure out something about my problem 👍

Yours sincerely , Me 😉😃 — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnonymousMeh (talkcontribs) 21:20, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, AnonymousMeh. "Write a new page" might mean different things. If you mean "Create a new Wikipedia article" then you are allowed to do so, but, as a new user, not directly: you should use the articles for creation process to create a draft, which you can work on and eventually submit for review. However, creating a new page is one of the hardest tasks there is for an inexperienced editor - I liken it to trying to perform a violin concerto after your first violin lesson. I always advise new editors to spend a few months improving existing articles that interest them, and learning how Wikipedia works, before attempting that daunting task.
On the other hand, if you mean you want to create a WP:user page for yourself, you're free to do so, as long as you put only acceptable material on it (see the link I just gave). A user page is for sharing information about you as a Wikipedia editor: it is not part of the encyclopaedia proper. Happy editing! --ColinFine (talk) 21:47, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@AnonymousMeh: Looking at your user rights groups, I assume you are talking about creating a new article. Although you've made more than 10 edits, your account is less than four days old, so you are not autoconfirmed. I suggest following the links that ColinFine has posted in the first paragraph. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 23:21, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
AnonymousMeh, if you are wanting to write about the youtuber named "bionic", you should first determine whether they are WP:NOTABLE. Without notability, a subject isn't suitable for a Wikipedia article. Here is a good place to start reading about Wikipedia and youtubers.--Quisqualis (talk) 03:32, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is speedy deleting drafts allowed?[edit]

I recently came across Draft:Civilization Reborn II: Discord Sever History. Now it is clear this draft doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of belonging to Wikipedia and the author has mistaken Wikipedia for a personal blog. Is it allowed to speedy delete such misguided drafts on sight, or do I have to go through some process? JIP | Talk 21:39, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

JIP You may nominate for speedy deletion any page is that you think meets at least one of the speedy deletion criteria. Note that drafts are automatically nominated for deletion after six months of inactivity. 331dot (talk) 21:42, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't feel the need ... the need for speed, since a draft isn't readily accessible to the general public anyway, but WP:Drafts#Speedy deletion says yes. To me, it's faster just to reject the draft. Clarityfiend (talk) 02:34, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
